So spent my childhood from babyhood to childhood in Amish country. And this whole soundtrack brings me back, especially when we’d celebrate the harvest. Pottsfield’s song really nails it for me.
Otgw is a perfect example of how to mix music and story telling. I really dont like musicals because i think characters all the sudden bursting into song and dance is cheesy and most times akward and forced but when media knows how to incorporate music without these elements you create a masterpeice. The backround music, characters singing in a matter where its believable (greg singing goofy little songs as a child would, the people of Pottsville singing at their annual celebration) it just feels so natural. It's utterly and wonderfully bittersweet. Honestly the only word that suits it, that works for me, is that it makes me wistful. There are few animated productions (TV or film) that have swept me up and stirred me like OTGW did. It tapped into my love for fright, mystery, music, old fairy tales, comedy, Halloween time, and more.

The Beast is one of the most intriguing villains I've ever seen in a show. Despite it's relatively low screen time it manages to be a constant threat looming in the background. And the final twist with the Huntsman? *chef kiss* pure gold
before my grandparents moved to the city, they lived on a farm in the middle of nowhere. during the fall, they would decorate their farm head to toe. they'd use vintage halloween decorations, scarecrows they made themselves or had been made for them, hay bales, pumpkins, you name it. this was also when their friend's corn field was at its peak. i remember driving out to that field just to look at the corn (and play in it, if i was very careful), then going to their house and eating soup on the front step with those decorations everywhere. this music, and over the garden wall by extension, makes me relive that. i love this show.
Does anyone get an extremely nostalgic feeling whilst listening to this, even if you haven't seen the miniseries? It sounds like something-or somewhere-we've been before. Strange.

Over the garden wall is just such a great show, and it has the best music tracks I've heard. As a young child, I loved the stories with the Beast and how he just wanted to take over everything. I love horror so in my personal opinion I'd love more seasons and episodes.

@milky UWU hey man it might be a bit late but there is a book called Dante's Inferno that is very similar to this, and actually alot of this show reflects that book, you should give it a read. If you dont feel like reading im pretty sure it was also turned into a movie
@@thomasb8440 ah i love reading too so i will check it out.Thank you!!
@@auraluna1195 perfect! Well i hope you enjoy, i know i did
This cartoon is really one of a kind, shame it's not too well known.
Over the Garden Wall is not just great cartoon... It's masterpiece
'Into the unknown' is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. 'Patient is the night' is a very close second.
this show is just so aesthetically pleasing and has a nice vibe to it.
This has to be my favorite animated series of all time. No one else in my family likes it but I watch it every year.
truly disgusting that some "people" would dislike this
Dawg, there are dislikes on every video. I mean, most of em are bots. Compare the likes to dislikes, it’s a staggering difference.
Right? It hurts my soul 😭💔
Probably misclicks
truly disgusting that some "people" would do this
why and how has this wretched copy pasta (if you could call it that) bled into the comments of this
I love wirts laugh. It always makes me happy
SAME WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THIS
YESYESYES I LOVE IT SM
37:57 Come wayward Souls,
That wander through the darkness,
There is a light for the lost and the meek.
Sorrow and fear,
Are easily forgotten,
When you submit to the soil of the earth.
Grow, tiny seed,
you are gone to the tree.
Rise, 'til your leaves fill the sky,
until your sighs fill the air in the night.
Lift your mighty limbs,
and give praise
to the fire.
Who wrote that? Schopenahuer?
Welcome back, everyone, happy almost 10 years since this masterpiece released.
The most fall season TV show ever made imo, I love it so much.
The greatest Animated Halloween cartoon to come out since _The Great Pumpkin_ of 1966
Best accidental click of my life
There's no such thing as coincidence.
Does anyone get an extremely nostalgic feeling whilst listening to this, even if you haven't seen the miniseries? It sounds like something-or somewhere-we've been before. Strange.
The Saddest and Darkest stuff in life is the most Beautiful!😂
"What's wrong with finding beauty and light in the morbid and dark?" ~unknown
This is my current playlist that I do school work with.
It's time for the yearly summoning ritual to bring in fall, binge watching OTGW
Who else thinks we need more shows with the same kind of atmosphere of over the garden wall
i remember when this mini-series first aired on cartoon network! it was nothing like I've seen before. eventually i got into horror because of this show!
I binge watched this after breaking up a 6 year relationship, it's the first time I've listened to this since and the first few notes just broke me. Such a masterpiece
It's that time of the year again
Indeed
This show is underrated, not just the show but music included
That first 20 seconds really makes you feel something that I cant describe
"I'm the Highwayman🧍"
I make ends meat just like any man, I work with my hands, you cross my path… I’ll knock you out drag you across the road, steal your shoes from off your feet, I’m the highway man and I’ll make ends meat….
I remember binge watching this show with friends i care a lot for. I miss those days
Same for me it was in high school during lunch in my drama room
it's October 1st. time to put this album on repeat for a month.
Ok we have to all agree the music matches the show’s theme , it’s mysterious, adventurous, calming and much more . This series deserves more but sadly it’s underrated, I used to love it a lot when I was a kid and till now I still love it
Oh it's that time of year again
tbh I’m coming back to this show every time when I’m sick with smth,,,,it’s so comforting and the music is gorgeous
i fell like crying when i listen to this album its so emotionally passionate and warm
I remember watching this when it first premiered. I was in Middle school, and I had to fight to watch it, because I had a bed time, and the show came on around then.
This show came out when I was 4 now I’m almost 13, I’ve seen it once and I’ll remember it forever ❤
This is not a cartoon. This is a beautiful tale, pure and extraordinary as any Grimm Tales or Anderson Tales.
Yesaasssss
One of the best things I've ever watched, I've watched it in english, spanish and portuguese just because i love it so much.
Wow
For those who haven't seen it yet, I 100% recommend infinity train, they have similar beautifully dark cartoon vibes
That one is also amazing, it would be cool if the two teams behind these shows banded together
i second this, infinity train is a show you have to watch at least once in your life.
Unfortunately I don't have HBO so I can't, but I wish I could!
@@giuliab8484 well it's not on HBO Max anymore so there's that unfortunately
@@pugpartyproductions9499 Where is it available for streaming, then?
The music is certainly something special, perfectly conveying every scene and, quite frankly, carrying the show as a whole

We thank you for your hard work and dedication to bring us this modern day masterpiece of beautiful storytelling that mirrors the folk stories of yesteryear, incredible artwork and animation. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed and we cannot truly express our full gratitude. Many, many thanks kind stranger.
Haven't seen over the garden wall, but why do I fill nostalgia and peace of mind? The answer is simple: I NEED TO WATCH THE SHOW FOR IT CALLS ON MY WOODLEN SOUL
Did you ever watch it?
I just finished watching the entire show tonight. What a masterpiece from start to finish.
It’s almost time to binge this show again!! I’m so excited!
Everything about this show is perfect.
this soundtrack is so beautiful
This show has quickly become one of my favorites with it's visual style and beautiful music from The Blasting Company!
I'm absolutely overjoyed by the bassoon representation
Over the garden wall is just such a great show, and it has the best music tracks I've heard. As a young child, I loved the stories with the Beast and how he just wanted to take over everything. I love horror so in my personal opinion I'd love more seasons and episodes.
Touches my heart this intro. What a beautiful tale.
I can't believe it's been 8 years since this absolute masterpiece came out... It genuinely feels like I watched for the first time just last year 😭 so much of my childhood gone in a blink
over the garden wall has the best sound track ever! ahh i remember when i found this show when new episodes where premeiring
This story of brotherhood just warms my heart♥️
This mini series is something else. While re-watching it. I actually felt happy for a while in a long time
It's the best cartoon I've ever saw. In 2014 Cartoon Network made masterpieces, like Adventure time, Steven Universe, Regular show, Clone wars...(and there is way more), but this is my absolute favorite.
happy (as of next month) 10 years to OTGW
Is nobody going to talk about how the soundtrack has a very vinyl sound to it,I listened to it on cd recently I a car and man it sounded amazing, listening to it on vinyl would be an transcending experience
i usually download all the music i love... but this is too special... it needs to be listened in its entirety during fall, it's just what feels right
Thank you so much for re-uploading this! You're the best!
