Someone helped me get an LG gaming monitor couple years ago. And only recently did I realize I’m stuck at 60hz because of my ps4. And my monitor does 1440 so it’s a must have now, need that ps5
Thank you so much, I’ve been going back and forth all week trying to figure out which monitor to get. Found this one on eBay after your video for $230 after shipping and taxes. Great video 👍🏽
I have this monitor. It's pretty good. Don't sit to close or else you'll see pixels. I sit 3FT away and looks awesome. Colors are great for a VA, but don't pop like good IPS panel. Black background is actually black, with minimal backlight bleed & VA glow. Much preferred over IPS glow. Gets plenty bright, and also very dim. Viewing angles are decent, some color/gamma loss when viewing off center. No speakers, but there's a headphone jack for external speakers. Only con with the monitor, and it's due to VA panel flaw. There's some ghosting/smearing when there's movement from a dark object on a light background. Hit or miss on what causes it. I've noticed it on some 2D side scroll games. Motion blur is a little more noticeable than my TN panel of course, but it's good for a VA panel. I'm currently using it for PS4, and casually on PC. Good monitor. But be aware of the usual VA shortcomings.
I actually just returned the Samsung UJ59 bcus it can only get up to 4K in one port & it’s HDMI 1 for 1080. None of this one in the specs or manual. I found this out bcus my PS5 was saying that 4K was not supported in HDMI 1. This will be my first monitor purchase so I’m getting the LG Ultragear 32GP83B. LG is a leader in monitors & bcus of their specs for gaming. The pictures looks just as great, as you said. Thanks bro bcus I’ve been looking forever!
Wow... I just bought this monitor last night at Costco (before I ever saw this video). I paid $230 USD. It's really good. I have a Nvidia 3080 Gaming PC and a PS5. However... I hate that my Elgato won't pass thru more than 60FPS.
Yeah, I'm curious if the next-gen capture cards will have full pass-through, supporting higher HDMI standards. Maybe some already do, but if it's an older one, it may not have HDMI 1.4 which is what you need for 1080p/120fps.
If you had to choose between this monitor or the BenQ mobiuz EX-2710 which one would you recommend? Having a hard time deciding mostly interested in the response time and 120hrtz for competitive gaming on console( for ps5 & XSX) btw love how budget friendly this monitor is.
sorry for the amount of 4k monitors im about to ask about but which one is the best , out of these based on making content online and best visuals / trading . 1. Philips E-line 278E1A 27" IPS 4K UHD Monitor 2. Philips E-line 276E8VJSB 27" 4K UHD Monitor 3. Philips 288E2A 28" 4K UHD Monitor 4. Samsung UR55 28" IPS 4K UHD Monitor or none ?
I'd just be digging through review sites to try and compare these as I haven't used them so I'll leave that up to you. However, I would say that IPS panels typically are the best all-rounders and good for colours so I'd aim at an IPS 4K monitor. Rtings is a great site for a lot of monitor reviews. They are my go-to.
Got mine today. Pretty happy except for a cluster of irregular pixels an inch from the top and a little right of center AND a single dead pixel off to the left and a half inch from the top. High return hassle means I’m living with it for quite a while.
Hey Justin I have 3 of these monitors connected to different game systems. I tweak em quite a bit to try and get the best performance for FPS. Did some digging and figure I would share something I found. These monitors will report to the the game system that it can do a variety of settings; including 4k at 60hz. I found that nice; but a little odd like the monitor isn't talking properly to the game system. With my Ps4 pro I found that when setting to 1080p I could not turn on Super Sampling. Said it wasn't available which was odd. Finally found that I had to turn off Free Sync and under the General settings I had to turn on HDMI Compatibility mode. Once I did that the monitor only reports proper settings to the game systems and I can enable Super Sampliing. So PS5 doesn't have a toggle for Super Sampling it will just automatically do it if the monitor and game system is agreeing on 1080p. I use to get ghosting with the "Faster" response setting and input lag. Once I turned on HDMI compatibility mode that has cleared up. I think once the monitor is talking properly to the game system the PS5 will turn on Super Sampling.
Jus bought this monitor for my PS5 based off your video I couldn’t decide I was looking everywhere for reviews but this one was had all the info I needed let’s see how it goes
This monitor is great on PC 165Hz , got it at Costco $209USD and Amazon wants $220 used LOL The brightness is fantastic as are the colors. NO GHOSTING ! Just sit back from it a little further. G-sync certified too. And of course Free Sync works great.
I've been rocking the same 1080p 240hz monitor for a while now. As a PC guy I think I'm expected to try and flex resolution numbers but I really do value frame rate over a sharper image any day. I'm thinking about grabbing this LG as a setup for a Switch for my nephew that hangs out here all the time, Thanks for the review bro 🤘🏽
Any chance you can do a video of your recommendations for the best Picture Adjustment in the monitor? Also, I have one and noticed the 1ms Motion Blur Reduction is OFF and I can’t switch it on. I appreciate any advise/tips! Thanks.
Bro thank you SO MUCH for making this such an easy decision. Very understandable explanation, straight to the point. I REALLY REALLY APPRECIATE this. Just going to go with this monitor. Not sure if the adjustable one is worth it or not.
I have an LG 32UL500-W 4k 60, and when I hooked up my OG Xbox One to it, warzone looked like crap. My PS4 pro and my PS5, both set to 1080p resolution just as a comparison, looked awesome. The PS4 pro and PS5 boost mode on my old 37LG50 tv (from about 2007) actually looked really good as well. So I’m having to ask myself at this point “is waiting for availability and price drops on 4k 2.1 monitors worth it right now considering I have a 4k 60 monitor already, all I really want for my gaming needs is the higher frame rate?”
Great explanation but I need a monitor for both work and gaming so the PPI is just too low. For now I'll stick with my LG 1080p 29" ultrawide. Might eventually get a 1440p 27 inch.
Thank u for the video and the info i was finally able to order Ps5...its coming late this month i want to know what kind of monitor i need .....your video gave alot of info and its not bad price for it either thank u again
i just bought the upgraded version of this monitor for my Xbox Series X. The LG 32gn650-b its all the same specs but it does 1440p. i will be using it for my laptop and for my Xbox. if anyone wants to buy one its currently under 300$ on amazon.
It’s a great 1080p monitor and it’ll look solid for Series X but if you’ve got more budget, I’d recommend the BenQ twins I reviewed on this channel. This one will still handle 4K just fine and look great doing it though.
Unfortunately that monitor won't be able to handle the VRR for the PS5. PS5 requires an HDMI 2.1 input to support VRR. You can achieve 1440p 120hz, but you may still experience screen tearing if the frame rate dips. For PC gaming with display port VRR isn't an issue.
would you recommend getting this monitor, as I am currently playing on ps4 slim on an old tv, is it worth the upgrade? plus is it a good first Gaming monitor? ‼️HELP‼️ I'm itching to buy something 😁😁
If you are planning to upgrade to the PS5 in the future, then absolutely! If you weren't or were thinking about going XBOX or PC, then I'd recommend something slightly different.

thank you for your video , trying to wrap my head round the whole 40k/60fps vs 1080/120fps and my head may explode ! Im still not quite there making my mind up but this helps !
Hello, I recently bought the MSI ag321cqr, i'm playing f1 2021 and other race games. But it was blurry if i was on speed. So whats the best monitor to play race games on and have nice resolution in stead off looking like Minecraft?
Hey how do you set up the speakers to the ps5 if your just using the monitor and the ps5. Should you buy computer speakers or a sound bar ? Ive found the computer speakers run super low when connected to the back of the monitor .
Yeah, the audio output from the monitor is pretty quiet - it's more like a line output jack instead of a full headphone jack which is lower volume. I would think amplified speakers would still be ok, but I use headphones because of the new Tempest 3D audio engine in the PS5 only working at this point with headphones.
Whats with the hand signs @ 0:31. Its a bidness thing i get it but i see alot of youtubers doing it and its sad but i get why. Most people wont mention it And i know it doesn't mean the ok sign as smooth as yall try to slide it in. The fact i noticed should make you wonder a bit
Hey I have a PS5 and im looking at getting a monitor to game on as TVs are pricey and dont have 120hz... I really like this monitor, do you recommend it for the ps5? and also does 1440p monitors work for ps5 as i have heard it doesnt
Yes I definitely recommend this monitor. It’s a great buy. Some 1440p monitors will work with the PS5 but many don’t support 120hz at 1080p over HDMI. I have a high end BenQ 1440p monitor that I play on and it does work but I respond to a lot of comments from people who can’t get 120hz on their PS5 - looking in their manuals they usually have a cheaper/older 1440p monitor that doesn’t support it.
@@ru11wv I got mine from Staples here in Canada but I can't find it in stock anywhere in Canada. This MSI is very similar (1080p/120hz/VA panel but with an even faster response time!) and a great panel, too: amzn.to/3EKlHLM
What's a good 32 inch curved monitor for ps5. Like the guy in the video said it doesnt matter if its 1080p or 4k. Question ps5 doesn't support 1440p but it supports 4k? Is that correct?
Great video! I’m curious to why you didn’t choose the LG 27GL850 - B 27 inch Ultragear QHD Nano with IPS 1 ms? Im definitely no expert, but from what I researched I believe it has the power to downscale the ps5 to basically 4K at 60hz and play 1080p at 120hz.
Thanks! Here that monitor is twice the price and I didn’t want IPS because it doesn’t get the deep blacks that a VA panel does. And with no 1440p support, I just wanted a straight 1080p/120hz experience. I have a 4K monitor that’s TN and 1ms but looks terrible. I LOVE this monitor and at the price I’m blown away.
Personally I'd recommend LG 27GL850... can play 120fps at 1080p and downscale 4k image at 60hz so you can play both and the price for the monitor is great value. Downscaled image means it's at 2k which compared to 4k to the naked eye is no difference. Would never just recommend having 1080p.
I’m sure that monitor looks great too. But the 1080p at 120hz on a 1440p monitor is going to scale a bit funny. And it’s IPS which is better for a bright room - won’t have the deep blacks that a VA panel can do. The thing people don’t understand if they don’t come from a video background is that quality doesn’t come from the number of pixels - it comes from the quality of the image. Great quality 1080p video looks better than poor quality 4K. Or another way to say it is that if you take a video game on a really powerful PC and put all the quality settings to Ultra or Max and output at 1080p it will look better than putting settings on low or normal and outputting at 4K. The PS5 looks GREAT at 1080p compared to previous gen consoles because the quality is better. And things like ray tracing have nothing to do with resolution to make a better quality picture. People will be blown away by how good games can look at 1080p when textures and lighting are on point.
@@JustinReves yeah I get what your saying there makes sense! I guess maybe I got lucky with the performance of this monitor, I play in a room a little dark but still has LED lighting and IPS still looks great whilst I've played 4k downscaled to 1440p which again looks amazing on the LG 27GL850 but maybe I just got lucky with the panel?, I'm just so surprised how clear it is!? But for sure 1080p is still amazing and especially at 120fps it's super smooth!
For PS5, at this point, a 1440p monitor is a bit of a waste of money because you can only do either 4K/60 or 1080p/120fps. So I'd pick either one of those two options for am monitor.
Saw your video was deciding to go between BenQ mobiuz EX2710 and this one for console gaming (ps5 & series X). I think I’m leaning more towards the LG now 🤔 …which one would you recommend out of these two?
Hai there. Im planing to buy a monitor nx week.. do u think getting msi optix G32C4, 165hz, 1ms, IPS Curve 31.5”, FDH 1920x1080 will be worth it for my ps5?? But the monitor do not have NVIDIA G-SYNC.. the G-SYNC really concern me for the ps5. Pls do reply me tq so much in advance
Pls I have a question so its 1440p and its 60hz but, if I put it to 1080p is 120hz is that right ? I'm planning to get a next gen console with the same monitor
So this monitor has full HD but not 4K. I bought a 4 k monitor not happy with it gets blurry sometimes playing warfare. I hook up to my 65 “ tv with 4K full HD it’s much better graphics but too big a screen. I might try this monitor or is there a 4K hdr10 you recommend
This monitor gives you that smoooooth 120hz if you have games that support it. Looks great. But if you want 4K/60hz on a nice monitor that’s a little better for gaming, check out the 4K one In the description of this video.
People say if you get a monitor that has HDMI 2.1, HDR with VRR that with the HDMI 2.1 you can get the max visuals out of the PS5 At 120hz refresh rate
Now that the PS5 supports 1440p, you can get the 1440p version of this monitor: amzn.to/3zUrmyR

thank you for your video , trying to wrap my head round the whole 40k/60fps vs 1080/120fps and my head may explode ! Im still not quite there making my mind up but this helps !
just depends what game you're playing, if you play single player game 4k/60 is better choice
Does it worth it or not
i will use it for ps5 maybe with a pc
I just got the same Monitor for my ps5..do I have to switch any settings on the Monitor and the ps5? Or just leave it like that?
If you want 120hz, you have to set the game to Performance Mode in the PS5 menu settings.
Do you have a 1440p 120 hz monitor recommendation?
Bought one and it gets here tommorow 🙏
Very nice!
Hello, I recently bought the MSI ag321cqr, i'm playing f1 2021 and other race games. But it was blurry if i was on speed. So whats the best monitor to play race games on and have nice resolution in stead off looking like Minecraft?
Which one is better this or benq ex3210r?
I mostly play COD but sometimes play games like Ghost of Tsushima and Marvels Avengers. Should I stick with this or go to a 4k monitor?
If you don’t care about 120fps, I’d look at the 4K monitor I have the description for a good mix of everything.
@@JustinReves I just got my PS5 and that 4k monitor from the description today. It’s beautiful! Thank you!
Any speaker recommendations something affordable just to have for if I’m chilling on Netflix or something? Please and thanks
Most people wont mention it
And i know it doesn't mean the ok sign as smooth as yall try to slide it in. The fact i noticed should make you wonder a bit
Is this monitor also good for the ps4? just for the meantime until I get a PS5. Also is it good to purchase warranty on the monitor?
Yup for sure!
Which one is the better buy. The renewed version of this monitor or the (used: like new)
Amazon is defaulting to Used but if you look in other buying options there are new ones too. Pick the best you can afford New > Renewed > Used.
@@JustinReves thank you very much 🙏
Would Acer 32” Class WQHD Curved Gaming Monitor work for ps5 120 hz?
There a difference between this and the 32gn600-b?
Very informative...this is the info I've been looking for. Just got me to subscribe ... awesome job thanks..
@@JustinReves thank you so much! where did you buy it? im in canada, was it best buy or amazon?
@@ru11wv I got mine from Staples here in Canada but I can't find it in stock anywhere in Canada. This MSI is very similar (1080p/120hz/VA panel but with an even faster response time!) and a great panel, too: amzn.to/3EKlHLM
Thank you very much
Is it a VA panel or IPS
What's a good 32 inch curved monitor for ps5. Like the guy in the video said it doesnt matter if its 1080p or 4k. Question ps5 doesn't support 1440p but it supports 4k? Is that correct?
Yup, that’s correct. 1080p or 4K for PS5. The MSI in the pinned comment or description is a curved 32” that’s really nice.
Will it be good monitor for xbox series s??
@@JustinReves ok that’s really good to know. Thanks for the quick response. I play warzone a lot and FPS. I think this one will work perfectly
I want a monitor for my pc and ps5 wich one would recommend ? thanks
What is the difference between 5ms and 1ms response time???
Is there atleast a 2k version of the recommended LG monitor? I don’t know how I feel about buying a new product in 2021 that’s 1080p.
What is your opinión no this monitor LG 27GN800-B ? I cant decide
For PS5, at this point, a 1440p monitor is a bit of a waste of money because you can only do either 4K/60 or 1080p/120fps. So I'd pick either one of those two options for am monitor.
Samsung C27HG70 27
Please tell me what do you think of this . Thank you
Will this be able to run 120 FPS at 1080 p on the Xbox series x also? Great video!
G32C4 is great for a PS5.
@@JustinReves tq so much!! Ur legend hehe
Do you know the difference between this monitor and the 32GN600? Thanks
600 is a 1440p monitor. 500/550 are 1080p.
Thanks bro i actually just ordered the asus tuf 27” wqhd g-sync monitor for my ps5 little more pricy but hopefully have good results
Thank you! Making me feel way more confident in this being a good monitor for my Xbox series S. Thank you!!!
People say if you get a monitor that has HDMI 2.1, HDR with VRR that with the HDMI 2.1 you can get the max visuals out of the PS5 At 120hz refresh rate
Yes but there’s only one LG monitor plus a few TVs that have HDMI 2.1 currently.
You made it simple, great job, thank you
Is there a smaller version of this monitor? Everything about it sounds great but 32 inch is a bit much for my liking. I would like a 24 inch
I think the 24GN650-B is what you're looking for
I've watched several videos and this one is outstanding!!
