3 Must-Know Tube Rigging Tips to Catch More Bass

- Pro bass angler Bill Lowen reaches for a 4-inch flipping tube over a lot of other plastics when bass are in shallow cover. He feels tubes have fallen out of favor with some anglers due to baits balling up on the hook and missed fish on the hookset, but these issues are attributed to rigging mistakes, not problems inherent to the lure.

Really great tips. I haven't fished a tube a lot but It's one of the things i was gonna work on more. Good stuff.
Great tips. We bend our hooks in the center of the shank though not in the hook bend radius. If I don't have pre bent hooks with me I use the toothpick trick and bury the hook in the solid nose section of the plastic.
Here's a tip, if your fortunate to be after giant largemouth. Evenly trim 3/4 of the tentacles off a tube and stuff a double tail grub in it. Just make sure the center line of the double tail split is centered with the hook shank when you put the hook in all of the bait. No worries you'll be capturing at least a quarter inch of the grub body when you hook it up and go 'football jig head' style. Drag it on the bottom with the occasional pop pop and hang on....

I’ve never had to do anything special on my tube setups, never really had much problem landing fish either. Good tips tho ill try them out
I always rig my tube with a owner screw lock and peg sometimes not always , its according where I'm fishing .
At least he didn’t give away the biggest tube secret for us Indiana boys’.

Hey I got a better solution! Use a Mustad grip lock EWG hook. These are money for tube rigging.
Hey good video. Don't no if you got my messages. But I got your sticker threw email that was sent to me. But curious do you ever give out hats. I have a kids non profit fishing group and I have a hat wall it's called dream hat. We give kids that dream of being pro. Fishermen. But we got bank manager. Fishing saleman and owners and one from a hunting store owner and just Salesman. We're working on lawyer cop judge and Dr. But I need cheaper hats cause Dr don't have hats so been talking to stores we need 20 to 50 hats that way I can go find 20 jobs and have a few signed each. Then when we asked the kids what you want to be we may have the hat. Then they take home hang up and be like if so and so did it I can to. But we need more hats before end of July or August. But can't weight to get to the lake every weekend we're out we give rods reels tackle lures plastics even the kids that don't fish I have stickers and ball cards music cards game cards even funny cards novelty money coins we're going to give every kid that shows up something nice and when we have they always get 2 lures and 2 bags of plastic. But I need to find some yard sale. We almost have the 24 rod and reels to give 2 each weekend but praying to give more. Ok man I'm sorry I wrote so much do love your help on this one never used that plastic got some gave away what I had left in the groups plastic we got donated last year.
