Great episode. Think it's time for a part 2 of this. Considering how many games with great music there are, you guys can easily do series on this as with your Left in Japan or Left in the Arcade series.
To all: This is not a "best of" episode. Similarly, this is not an episode about the ONLY games with good music. So before you type your comment about why such and such music isn't included, please know that it is likely they will be included when we cover this topic again one of these times. The game you want to mention probably does have some kick-ass music and we'd likely agree with you. But there's no reason it has to be in THIS particular episode over the others we chose. We're not saying that all games in this episode have better music than all games not included. We just simply CAN'T INCLUDE EVERYTHING in a single episode, so please understand. However if you'd like to make suggestions, we'd appreciate that. You might suggest something we haven't yet heard! But any comments similar to "No _____?" or "I can't believe you didn't include ____" or the like will just be ignored as it's not really helpful feedback or suggestions. We know you probably mean well though. Also for a game to be included in a future episode, we must have some way of obtaining the soundtrack. Sound tests are great and we have a ton of OSTs. But some games don't have these options. We don't want to use emulation to capture our audio and under no circumstances will we download other people's UA-cam videos of the audio. We like as uncompressed and as real as we can get so we can show you how the music REALLY sounds in game and without the sound effects. Some OSTs ruin the music like a lot of the older Konami stuff which add reverb to NES/Famicom music. We don't want to use that and instead we used the sound tests built in to Castlvania 3. Fortunately some options have opened up like the VGM player for the Mega Everdrive and SPC Player for the SD2SNES which allows us to play the music on real hardware regardless if a game has a sound test. I don't think there's a good quality NSF player for the NES Everdrive yet to my knowledge and the HES player for the Turbo Everdrive is the most basic thing ever. But at least it exists.
I've been going and playing the old Castlevanias to see what all the hype is about. I gotta be honest--Bloodlines absolutely mops the floor with Super Castlevania IV imo.
I wanna make a joke and ask you how many gigs of VGM do you have... or maybe ask if you have any physical, official CDs/vinyl/cassettes. It's kinda the running joke in the VGM community to ask this. But yeah, joking aside, if I were to ask you what you are currently infatuated with, what would you answer? Me personally, I've playing a shitton of Dot Hack GU, and I literally have been listening to it's soundtrack 24/7 when I'm not playing the game. I don't have any "favorite" albums, because all of them are amazing, but Dot Hack GU is my obsession at the current moment.
I've been collecting CDs ever since I can remember. Game music is awesome. Even today I write some for the company I work for. A dream job that I really love.
Funny enough, once I found out about MIDI files in the late 90s, Blaster Master's stage 1 theme was the very first one I downloaded. I actually used to listen to game MIDIs before I found out about raw audio files like NSFs and SPCs.
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! Honestly, when I was a preteen learning how to play guitar, I would sit for hours with the Lords of Thunder on my Turbo CD and try to figure out note for note, the Earth stage (at 5:02 in your episode). Lords of Thunder was probably one of the first examples of how a guitar could be played for me. So many memories and why I've devoted so much of my life collecting for the NEC consoles... all because of my obsession playing (the game and the guitar music) Lords of Thunder. You guys are awesome and your knowledge on video games is uncanny. (I never knew who was behind the music of both LOD and GOT - thank you!). -best, Jason
Great episode. I was glad to see the inclusion of Thunder Force II. And that ending was the best part. That will probably be stuck in my head for a while.
Heh, for me, music is one of the top three criteria in rating my enjoyment of the game. I can still enjoy a so-so game as long as it has an outstanding soundtrack. Also, I am seeing a difference in Dave's and Joe's music taste. Seems like Dave's more into ambient and world-type music with an emphasis in the overall harmony, whereas Joe's more into music with a strong lead melody and bass. I know I might be waaaay off, but it's fun to try and see them nonetheless. I look forward for more parts in these types of videos, I like listening to new game soundtracks
Thank you for covering that topic. Video games music has always been a big part of my life, even if a game suck i'll probably remember it more for its music over its gameplay. I highly hope you guys will continue on with this topic over time, you've barely scratched the surface of it. For me, video games music is what connect me the strongest to my childhood. Great selection of music, i'll be sure to listen to the vast majority of them, always looking forward to expand my vg music library.
Oh excellent! I've been asking for an episode on this topic for years! You guys always seem to mention if games have really good music or not. This is exactly what I've been waiting for!!
A very awesome episode guys. Some very good examples of video game music explored here. Gotta love the shoot em ups with the wailing guitars. The earliest examples of great video game music, imo, are Castlevania, Super Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Ghosts and Goblins, Batman(NES), Journey to Silius, Contra, Life Force, Metroid, Adventure Island, Legend of Zelda, Blaster Master, I could go on and on. When I thought of good VGM I looked at Konami, Capcom, Sunsoft, Nintendo, Hudson Soft, Rare, Square as some companies that tended to get the best people for VGM, back then. Some favorite OSTs of mine are: Resident Evil(0,REmake,1,2,3,CVX) Super Metroid, Super Castlevania IV, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Contra III, Street Fighter II, Double Dragon, Super Ghouls and Ghosts, Final Fight, Top Gear all immediately come to mind. Can't wait til you guys revisit this topic. Btw, the ending is hilarious.
+Travis Morgan Unfortunately I didn't play Guardian Legend as a kid. But I have recently heard some of the OST and it's pretty good. :) What were the two I listed that correlate with yours?
You guys should really anotate the title of the game on youtube as it's shown, by the end of each review, I usually have forgotten the name of the game I intended to research later. Amazing Show by the way
I'm glad you guys finally made a video on VGM as it's not only a favourite topic of mine but you guys know what you're talking about. I have always found VGM from the 8-bit and 16-bit eras fascinating. It's so unique due to the limitations at the time that it's like its own genre of music. Please do more!
Yep, I think there was also a Mega or Super Turrican on the NES as well which was 1 & 2 merged done badly because of the dogey floaty jumping controls which on one of the normal editions you can jump accross the entire long jump bit easily and on the NES unless you have cheas on you will lose all your lifes attempting over and over to make it and not make it so you die so it's an impossible jump to complete without cheats on to enable you to atteempt to do it more times than your default lifes limit does. Then there were Super Turrican's 1 & 2 on the SNES which in actual game numbers were Turrican's 4 & 5 to confuse things more.
Not my favourite topic but it's noticeable that u guys enjoyed making this episode and that's awesome. Keep making whatever you guys want... I'm always thankful for anything u2 give us!!!
Interestingly, all CD players I've tried play track 1 as silent (or track 2 on TurboGrafx CDs). I think only some of the oldest CD layers will play the data track as noise.
Game Sack Oh, that is interesting. I haven't owned an actual Sega CD game in over a decade (needed $$ when my daughter was born, so I sold all my consoles and games... why oh why didn't I get rid of the damn Beanie-Babies instead?!?) I used to love listening to Sega CD soundtracks in my car's cd player, but when the cd would repeat, the loud, sudden static of track 1 would make my heart jump.
I can confirm this. I had a very old and very cheap CD player, and it would produce some AWFUL screeching noise (imagine that dialup internet noise amplified about 500x). Also, every game needs a sound test.
Hey guys, just found your channel recently and have binge watched all your episodes! Gotta say I really enjoyed this episode, it was unique and very insightful. Keep it up, love having you guys introduce me to so many games I didn't know existed!
Isn't the Daikatana game on Game Boy Color really good though? And supposed to have a good soundtrack? Dunno since i never played it, but people speak very well of Daikatana for GBC and it's soundtrack.
Awesome to see a proper video about this and I really hope you guys keep going with it. I hadn't even heard of half the games you mentioned in the video and I'm really glad you didn't just go with Mario and Zelda music (not that I wouldn't love to see a video dedicated just to that sort of vgm). Video game music is such an underrated genre with so many hidden gems barely anyone has ever heard, I very much look forward to what you guys dig up.
As a music major, I really loved this episode guys. it's a combination of some of my favorite things! I love watching your videos. You're inspirations to me!
I'm so glad you guys mentioned Midnight resistance stage 1 and the mid level boss music, those tunes make the hair on the back on my neck stand in end, also super pleased to see you will be featuring ThunderForce 4 in a later episode, it's clear you regard this as high as I do if it needs a separate episode, it's the greatest 16bit soundtrack made in my opinion, especially metal squad from stage 8
next time use Castlevania 4 , chrono trigger , soul blazer , megaman x series , actraiser , donkey kong country and streets of rage are good music choices
Loved the fact you picked "Solo Sortie" from Super R-Type for an example of great game music. I think I got my SNES about 6 months after it came out and my parents gave me 3 games that I could buy. I went with Pilotwings, F-Zero and Super R-Type. All had great music but I spent so much time on the Super R-Type sound test. A truly treasured memory and I thank you for tapping me back into it. Thanks again guys. Your show is beyond awesome!
+kylem1112 some people are so quick to defend their beloved UA-cam channels that they lose their sense of humor in the process. I assumed that "gamers" watching a channel dedicated to gaming would know about Doom for 32X (and in actuality I don't really think it's as bad as many claim, but nostalgia is a powerful drug).
Midnight Resistance !! I used to play it on Amiga as a kid and totally loved the tunes ! So happy to see you mention it. Never had the chance to play the Genesis version though ...
Great list guys! I've never listened to the Genesis Gauntlet music before, so I'm happy to have learned about another quality soundtrack to add to my game music rotation
Great effort guys, thanks for introducing me to those awesome tunes! 'Thunderhawk' for Sega CD has one of the best music, in my opinion. Highly recommended!
The cops said they just got done watching the episode and they are booking a flight right now, poor dave and joe have some explaining to do. Hopefully they can do it before the 20 second it takes for baby mario to get kidnapped.
You're missing several good songs. You didn't put literally every good video game track on here, so that means you don't know they exist and have bad taste and you should feel bad.
Really nice episode guys. I have no problem when you repeat games as you always do something different when reviewing them (such as switching who does the review or focusing on a specific element like here with the music). VVVVVV has a great chiptune style soundtrack if you want to try that one out for a future episode, be sure to go through the level editor because there are a few amazing tracks that were available here but are not in the main game.
I didn't own a TG16 up until a few years ago but now that I'm seeing the gameplay again I remember playing Gate of Thunder several times on the demo unit at our local Toys R Us (muted, though, so I never got to enjoy the music). I love it when I'm watching compilation videos like this one and it includes a game I'd long forgotten!
Good on ya for including Gate of Thunder and Lords of Thunder. Many other Turbo CD shmups had great music, too: Nexzr, L-Dis, Rayxanber III, GFD Sapphire, Darius 2, Ai Cho Aniki, Spriggan, Hellfire, the list goes on and on.
Man I've always loved gaming music. It's inspired myself as a musician. I remember recording music to a tape and hope not to be bothered. Like my Mom cleaning or something. The Genesis has my fav sound to it. The overdrive bass and gritty sounds are so rock n roll.
I really love the sound of FM synth from the Mega Drive as well as the sound blaster/Adlib sound cards though I can say growing up It was music from rare's n64 that really became my favourite. Banjo-Kazooie's tunes along with all of the others really cemented itself in my mind and every time I hear it it brings a smile to my face.
Excellent show guys. I'm also a BIG fan of chip generated music, especially that of the Yamaha FM variety. There are loads of games you guys could have added to this show but I'm sure you're sick of hearing what "Should" have been included. Great show, keep it up and I'm looking forward to another game music episode in the future.
Remember Blaster Master: Blasting Again from your episode on Sunsoft? That game has some pretty great music. Some of its like a mix of 80s rock and synth while other tracks are soothing with great piano chords. Definitely worth another look
Great video as always. My favourite music of all times is from Out Run(arcade). I remember when I bought for the Amstrad cpc and it came the ost. I made my Dad put the cassete in his car so I could listen to it going to school
The jungle town in Skies of Arcadia, I kept a save spot tt hat town and would load it up and just jam out to that song. You guys truly ar the top tier of retro shows.. I love following you and the interesting topics you cover
Super R-Type is one of my favorites of all time. The stage 1 music is amazing, especially the extended part that you mentioned. So many of the early SNES games had amazing soundtracks like Actraiser, Super Castlevania IV, Super R-Type, Gradius III, and many others.
Glad to see someone who appreciates the Turbografx-16 sound chip as much as I do. It has such a unique "Twang" to the sound that is unmistakable and unique. You can listen to most any track from the system and instantly know that it's a TG-16 song. Good stuff.
Love this show guys.A fair few PC Engine titles missed. Can't recall a lot off the top of my head but a CD title that springs to mind was RType Complete. Thanks El chapos! !
Lunar silver star story has such great music it's been remixed like three times on different versions of the game over the years! One of my all time favorites!!!
Grandia II is very worth considering too, with a fully orchestral soundtrack and very awesome and epic, know you cannot get all, but maybe something for if there is a sequel, just one thought, up to you guys, love the good work
I can't find my pulse, but I love the music in Lords of Thunder. I love the game too. When I finally got around to playing it, the music quality was a huge and pleasant surprise. Great sound effects too. Gate of Thunder is another great show piece and a great way to start this topic. Great work and thank you.
Without going into a long list, I really LOVE Shadow of the Colossus without having played the game myself, only watched a little bit of it. I listened to the OST on my own and heard an amazing live performance during Video Games Live .
I remember coming back home from my child friend's birthday really late and finding myself wanting to listen to Gaunlet's wind level music (Transparent Obstacle). Everyone was sleeping, and I turned tv as quite as possible, and slowly my ears were able to hear even in this quite silence the greaness of this song. This is really an amazing music to listen. And Adventures of Iron, oh man, so sweet as well.
Turrican II's soundtrack is a game that comes to mind when I saw this episode with you guys. I used to play this game all the time back in the Amiga500 days, a lot for the music but also because I truly loved that game. It has its flaws, sure, but it was still a very fun game with big levels to explore and find the exit in.
Great idea, hope you will do a lot more parts! I really appreciate the fact that you guys chose, for the most part, not the most popular stuff out there and show some love to the genesis. IMO, that make this video 100% better. Do you know about the supermarcatobros podcast? It could give you a lot more idea for this topic.
I thought I was the only one to be in love with that snow level music from Super GnG!! Awesome!! The castle levels are incredibly epic too with those grand organs! Sounds like The Omen OST!!
One of the ones I really loved as a kid (and still do) was Shadowgate for the NES. The soundtrack repeated a lot and there was not a huge amount of variety but all the songs were fantastic and stuck with me my entire life as much as the more universally notable game soundtracks like Zelda, Mario, and so on.
The Zenda and Matio games come to mind for great music . I also love the music from Tengen Tetris, and I will forever remember the Bubble Bobble music. Seems like every video you guys do has a castlevania game in it
You've brought all of his stuff up before many times, but pretty much everything Tim Follin did is still amazing. From that unreleased Genesis Time Trax game, to his famous works on NES Solstice (especially that exploding arpeggio for the title theme) and the Silver Surfer stage themes. Guy was channeling the Power Cosmic himself when he created those.
A great episode. I vote for more of them. Some of my personal favorite game soundtracks: Zool, Chrono Trigger & Chrono Cross, all Donkey Kong Country games, all Rayman games, all Castlevania Games, all Classic Mega Man games, Final Fantasy VI & VII, Shovel Knight, Mega Man X & X4, Super Meat Boy, Turtles in Time, Duck Tales, Darkwing Duck
After such a long time nobody will read this, but this deserves a part 2.
Yes!!
I was just thinking on leaving the same comment here. This is such a great theme to not have at least a part 2
it deserves a part 10.
Terranigma and Total Annihilation should be on this list. Incredible music.
Boat Captain TA has one of the most epic soundtracks I've ever heard.
We know you probably mean well though.
Also for a game to be included in a future episode, we must have some way of obtaining the soundtrack. Sound tests are great and we have a ton of OSTs. But some games don't have these options. thank you for the content, I appreciate all the effort. also do you upload to final bosses more than youtube?
+TheEmeraldMystic We upload to UA-cam and Final Bosses about equally, but the priority is UA-cam.
no Crazy Bus?
How about renaming it to Awesome Videogame Music Part 1 or something along the likes of that?
Might help to clear things up! Also 13:07 Space Harrier reference anyone?
Castlevania Bloodlines for the Sega Genesis. Simply beautiful work from Michiru Yamane.
The Stage 2 - The Sinking Old Sanctuary song is especially awesome.
Iron Blue Intention is my fav
Simon Belmont Theme From Castlevania Bloodlines Is Really Good Too
Hell, yeah. "Calling From Heaven" from Bloodlines is up there with Bloody Tears and The Beginning, top tier Castlevania music.
I've been going and playing the old Castlevanias to see what all the hype is about. I gotta be honest--Bloodlines absolutely mops the floor with Super Castlevania IV imo.
hands down the best gaming channel on youtube!
Them and happy console gamer.
Kim Justice is mine. Fucking awesome
I second this!
deserve way more views than any "lets players"
Exactly
With the way Dave describes the music he should get a job working for the J. Peterman Catalog lol
LoL!!! Seinfeld was such a great show.
I was hoping you got the reference!! Love the show and thanks for replying!!
DGR I never thought I'd see you here.
Video game music is one of my favorite things to listen to.
I have a whole bunch of playlists for them on my phone & PC.
Me too. Mega Man music ;)
I wanna make a joke and ask you how many gigs of VGM do you have... or maybe ask if you have any physical, official CDs/vinyl/cassettes. It's kinda the running joke in the VGM community to ask this. @@AmberShort That's so awesome! Hope you're still making vgm music!
That Mega Man song is EPIC!
Blaster Master. One of the first games I ripped from the NES to audio cassette back when I was in high school. I still love it all too.
That'd be so rad if you still had that cassette!
That's awesome! In elementary school I held a boombox up to the TV and recorded bubble bobble onto a cassette tape lol
Dude...second stage music gets me so pumped each time I hear it
Funny enough, once I found out about MIDI files in the late 90s, Blaster Master's stage 1 theme was the very first one I downloaded. I actually used to listen to game MIDIs before I found out about raw audio files like NSFs and SPCs.
+Milk man Nope. All my tapes got stolen one night when I left one of my windows rolled down on my Ford Probe by accident.
This is one of my favorite episodes have been going back through the older episodes and would love another episode of this topic!
Aaaand it's Game Sack Sunday!! Can't wait to watch this!
Oh snap! Its Plasma 3! Love your Area 88 Remix
Really glad to hear, that remix doesnt get too many fans =p. Love that game!
dude, your remixes are awesome
YES!
I bought the collectors edition of twilight Princess on Wii U just to get the soundtrack CD! Thankfully a good game comes with it!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video! one of my favorite and most nostalgic episodes! great work game sack! work on another soon please!
Making soundtracks is my lifelong dream. It's amazing to hear you guys talk about these with so much love and attention. Thank you!
Great episode. I was glad to see the inclusion of Thunder Force II. And that ending was the best part. That will probably be stuck in my head for a while.

And that ending song wow! It actually sounds decent and reminds me of some Vocaloid songs I've heard
I dunno about that. Seems to me that Dave is very much into Techno music. I recognize it because I am into the same thing.
A good chunk of music composed by either Tim Follin or Alberto Jose González is worth picking up for a future episode.
Oh excellent! I've been asking for an episode on this topic for years! You guys always seem to mention if games have really good music or not. This is exactly what I've been waiting for!!
The SNES sound is actually handled by a sampler of highly compressed audio while the Genesis actually had proper synthesis instead.
True. But the Genesis must've been trickier to program good music for, cus there are so many ... auditory lemons on that system.
Highly compressed? Well, Mega Man X2 is your lucky day.
Wasn't expecting an episode based on this, it might be one of the best you guys have done just because it's different! Gotta love game music.
A very awesome episode guys. Some very good examples of video game music explored here. Gotta love the shoot em ups with the wailing guitars. oh man I was wondering when you'd do an episode like that.
good ep. thanks :)

you are welcome
+Boojakascha or just www.gamesack.net
Nice to see you here :)
Any plans on ever releasing any videos in English ever again? You got fans over here, too, ya know!
I'm glad you guys finally made a video on VGM as it's not only a favourite topic of mine but you guys know what you're talking about. My favorite video game music is from Mega Turrican for Sega Genesis hands down
Amazing soundtrack! I love the song of the second stage.
Mega Turrican is Turrican 3. Turrican II was released on the Mega Drive as Universal Soldier.
Turrican 3 is a port of Mega Turrican lol
and it's a thousand times better than the amiga version
Streets of Rage 2.
Phuck yeah
Streets of Rage 3 ;)
Not my favourite topic but it's noticeable that u guys enjoyed making this episode and that's awesome. Keep making whatever you guys want... I'm always thankful for anything u2 give us!!!
Sonic 2 music ruled as well.
3 & Knuckles >>> sonic 2
This is probably my favorite episode yet. Thanks so much for remembering Midnight Resistance.
If you pop Sega CD games into your stereo, *skip track 1* before you turn up the volume!

Sweet! Thanks for watching.
You should make a bad video game music episode with a review as well. I'd love to see some interesting picks.
GTA GBC, Daikatana, Rocky/Bullwinkle NES. That's all I can think of atm.
Isn't the Daikatana game on Game Boy Color really good though?
And supposed to have a good soundtrack?
Dunno since i never played it, but people speak very well of Daikatana for GBC and it's soundtrack.
I was talking about the N64 version. I played the GBC game, it has amazing music, but the gameplay was finnicky and a bit frustrating.
Level 3 on Marble Madness for the sega genesis.
Awesome to see a proper video about this and I really hope you guys keep going with it. I hadn't even heard of half the games you mentioned in the video and I'm really glad you didn't just go with Mario and Zelda music (not that I wouldn't love to see a video dedicated just to that sort of vgm). Video game music is such an underrated genre with so many hidden gems barely anyone has ever heard, I very much look forward to what you guys dig up.
next video I hope that you guys have Shining Force 2 that was some great music back in the day
definitely !
I prefer the original shining force soundtrack actually
I'm going to play through that game soon! I loved the music for the first one, so I hope the second game music is really good :D
i love them both, why pick? :P SF was the shit, i miss Shining Force...
Alex Rincon Love both in all honsty but 2 just had better overworld and battle themes for me. Overworld feels like such a grand adventure.
Hope you guys make another Awesome Game Music episode! Rewatching this one now
Gauntlet IV - so unrecognized.
This is a great episode. I've been waiting for you guys to do an episode strictly on music. Can't wait for part 2! And part 3! AND 4. AND 5. 6. 7....
Elemental Master - Stage 2
The song of the title screen is great as well.
Oh yes. The entire sountrack of Elemental Master is fantastic :)
Well, they would probably need an entire episode dedicated to Techno Soft's soundtracks.
Kane Smith Agreed, Techno Soft's games has great soundtracks.
Great video, i love when you guys cover/talk about this subject.
Where TF is Game Music Sack? :/
So did you ditch that project or what...
Yeah I was really looking forward to more of that, it was great.
Game music sack coming soon on a podomatic channel near you. :P Joking.
As a music major, I really loved this episode guys. it's a combination of some of my favorite things! I love watching your videos. You're inspirations to me!
Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross had great soundtracks
I'm so glad you guys mentioned Midnight resistance stage 1 and the mid level boss music, those tunes make the hair on the back on my neck stand in end, also super pleased to see you will be featuring ThunderForce 4 in a later episode, it's clear you regard this as high as I do if it needs a separate episode, it's the greatest 16bit soundtrack made in my opinion, especially metal squad from stage 8
Thunder Force IV
I thoroughly enjoy these videos. Thank you guys for everything you do. Keep up the good work.
What happened to Game Music Sack?
Thats barely an exaggeration of the TG16 controller cord length. Love Gate of Thunder's OST. Happy to get a new vid from you guys.
next time use Castlevania 4 , chrono trigger , soul blazer , megaman x series , actraiser , donkey kong country and streets of rage are good music choices
I forgot about Soul Blazer. Thad did have a good soundtrack.
Act Raiser is a freaking masterpiece. The soundtrack for the boss fights is really of epic proportions
Too true!
Milk man
ah did i make a new butt hurt salty friend : )
bad obvious trolling is bad : (
Your list is almost as good as this video. =)
Joe, I thought your music was good.
That Final Fantasy one had me in stitches when I saw a flash of it on Newgrounds.
like waaaaaaaaaaaay back tho
Yeh, it made me smile lol.
Lords of Thunder music sounds like it could have been in Ys
Great episode. I'm a big fan of gaming music too. As usual you guys introduce me to a bunch of fun looking games I've never played before.
You forgot Doom for 32X.
it's part 1 ... (sigh)
+tightlypacked Now now... patience my young padawan.
I guess you guys aren't familiar with the music for Doom on 32x. Look it up, then check back in. Kthxbye.
lol yeah it sounds like diarreah
+kylem1112 some people are so quick to defend their beloved UA-cam channels that they lose their sense of humor in the process. I assumed that "gamers" watching a channel dedicated to gaming would know about Doom for 32X (and in actuality I don't really think it's as bad as many claim, but nostalgia is a powerful drug).
Midnight Resistance !! I used to play it on Amiga as a kid and totally loved the tunes ! So happy to see you mention it. Never had the chance to play the Genesis version though ...
Final Fantasy III/VI
One of the greatest chiptune soundtracks ever made.
Great list guys!
I've never listened to the Genesis Gauntlet music before, so I'm happy to have learned about another quality soundtrack to add to my game music rotation
Shovel knight
Great effort guys, thanks for introducing me to those awesome tunes!
'Thunderhawk' for Sega CD has one of the best music, in my opinion. Highly recommended!
No yoshi island? Unsubbed, unfollowed, and deactivated my Facebook because of you. I'm calling the police as we speak.
it is a top soundtrack
+CAX 117 to stop crying because they couldn't understand me.
The cops said they just got done watching the episode and they are booking a flight right now, poor dave and joe have some explaining to do. Hopefully they can do it before the 20 second it takes for baby mario to get kidnapped.
Thanks for introducing me to Gauntlet 4. That music is badass.
You're missing several good songs. You didn't put literally every good video game track on here, so that means you don't know they exist and have bad taste and you should feel bad.
One of the best episodes, really great. Greetings from Mexico, keep the excellent work.
Excellent episode, and I really enjoyed the instrumentals featured.
So cool to see the Gauntlet 4 soundtrack highlighted! Such a great, overlooked soundtrack from an often forgotten game...
Nice capture quality, guys. Keep up the good work!
Agreed, Thunderforce 2 has one of the most overlooked sound tracks. Thanks for including it.
Great episode. You guys should do another one of these.
Shantae!!!!! This definitely needs a part two. One of my absolute favorite programs on UA-cam!
Great collection! I'm always looking for great Soundtracks aside from the usual "popular" recommendations
Dragon Quest VIII on PS2 has an amazing symphonic soundtrack that I've been listening to a lot lately. Really enjoyed this episode, hope you do more!
This episode was just so satisfying to watch.
One game that I remember to have an excellent sound track was Journey to Silius for the NES. Loved that one.
Thank you, Game Sack, for highlighting the VRC6 chip for Castlevania 3. More people need to know about that technical marvel.
I thought I was the only one to be in love with that snow level music from Super GnG!! Awesome!! The castle levels are incredibly epic too with those grand organs! Sounds like The Omen OST!!
My favorite game music was from Star Control 2 for PC, so many memories of flying though deep space hearing the grungy sounds.
Awesome episode guys, looking forward to part 2. F-Zero X has incredible music, some of the best and in my top 5.
