First tip is MASK THE AREA COMPLETELY!!! I absolutely hate overspray it gets where you least expect it. 2nd tip (this is how I plastidip everyone has different tactics but mine work pretty good for me) completely cover the emblem in black. No light coats. Wait 5 mins between coats. Use at 3 layers 5 is optional. Wait 15 mins before you start peeling on the final coat.
I know it’s a little late but for anyone wondering, it helps a whole lot to go over the outline of lettering with the tip of a toothpick while being careful not to touch any of the surface of the letters. This will make peeling so much easier
Thanks for the add bro!
Another tip is once u get under the dip with a toothpick u can twist it and the dip will come off much easier
Can u explain more about toothpicks?
I have a white Honda decal similar to the one you have on your windshield is there any way I could plastidip that?
Hey I know this is an old vid so I hope you respond. I'm about to try this on my door handles and mirror caps and have a few questions.
1) How has it held up over 4 years? Through all the rain, snow (not sure where you live) and car washes?
2) How'd you do behind the door handle...the part that faces inward towards the car?
3) Will this mess up paint or peel clear coat off?
I have done a bunch of plasti dip jobs and they have all held up great even after 5 years on wheels. Surface prep is really important.
That looks awesome! Your car is looking fine!
Thank you Alice =)
Do the handles hold up after some time?
Put the plasti dip can in hot water, and it will give you much cleaner coats! Enjoy your vids! Keep it up!
Thanks Mitch! I appreciate it brother!
i love the internet
This is a super huge tip for any aerosol you might ever use! Spray paint, spray texture, plasti dip etc. I always soak my cans in hot water. You never know how long shit has been on the shelf and always shake the hell out of it.
I'm so happy we have the same color hatchback. I'm so getting this! Prob just the logos tho :p
How do the door handles feel and how has it held up so far ?
They actually held up really well if you babied them...and then i mean you could just spray more
Do you think that vht tint spray would work as well?
I mean if it can be removed relatively easy it’s worth trying
I wish I could go be you some tips but I’ve never used that stuff before. I looks great from a distance.
It’s pretty easy bro! But I wouldn’t do that on your charger! It’s too nice for plasti dip! Your sweet whip needs carbon fiber or vinyl!!!
From a distance you cant notice the mess ups at all. Great first attempt man looks sharp! Damn rain messed things up!
I would of terrier to hit it with more angles haha! I am gunna buy so vinyl wrap!! I think it’s happening
My back emblems turned out the same and it looked messy and when I peeled some off, it took off some of the edging of my lettering. it was so frustrating. How did you end up fixing it?
Redo it. Probably messed up in your coating cuz that’s what I did and be very patient and careful when using a toothpick to take off the dip
It’s all about layers, the moser layers you do the easier it is to peel and to take off. Minimum 5 layers
Its always the rain! ugh! lol
Looks great!
I helped my son platic dip some of his car. We did multiple thin layers as well. It peeled fairly easy but if you have any rough spots its a "bad word" to work with.
We popped the emblems off, painted them and then put them back. That automotive tape is kinda pricey but works well.
We plasti dipped/run stripes up the hood, over the roof and back down the other side.
A real fun time making sure the stripes were straight...lol
That’s awesome! I have another video where I did the hood and mess up big time haha
I am a 44 year old grandmother, and I want to do part of my hood, and roof!!! I have a “floating roof” on my 2018 LR Discovery (HSE LUX (T) *urbo* (D) *iesel* (6) *cyl* ‘, 4x4(duh lol) I found one on the lot with both lux and sport packages on the full size. In my colors! LUCK bc it was my birthday 🥳 😂 Love it!
I went yesterday & Got myself a new JEEP Grand Cherokee LimitedX 4X4. It has the Rock Crawl, Snow, Mud, and Sand modes, with hill climb and descent thankfully! Im about to CHROME DELETE what little chrome there is, which is actually a lot 😂 Also getting bigger Offroad Tires! (all terrain?) With a 2” lift! I’m so excited to get it modded up. It’s mine... but I’ll be allowing my son to drive it as the Land Rover is MY BABY!
Yours maybe sat on too long, with first spray not saturating fully? I dunno bud, tbh as I’m not anymore near being an expert, it’s just a guess because I’ve never used it. I wish they made carbon fiber spray. Wouldn’t that be a trip? I’ve seen all colors and color changing plastiDips even pearl and iridescent. But I like the matte black best.
If This old granny can do it, then anyone can. 😂
@@BLP3Motors I totally want to see!!!!!!!
Anyone know How long you would say this plasti dip lasts on your door handle since you touch it almost everyday trying to get in the car?
I mean if you baby it I think you would need spray it once a month.
Buddy of mine is going on 7 years with no touch ups...
I think you let it dry to much. I belive you should have peeled it when it was still a little tacky.
Yea I can see that bro. I’ll have to change it up next time and make it easier. Thank you so much for watching
awesome vid man
Thanks brother!
Right off the bat, I have no idea what plasti dipping is. So I guess I am about to learn something. I like that there is still a guitar in your vid on some of your masking paper.

Always gotta rock!!
Hey man i hope you answer me ! How long does it last on door handles!!? I already plastidiped the car logo and it lasted for a long time but I'm wondering if that the case for the door handles since we use them all the time will , please answer me if you can
im guessing that since they are door handles they would have a shorter life span. but i feel like if you do a decent amount of costs and let it dry correctly you’d be straight
im thinking about doing this to my corolla hatchback
@@joeyha1323 hmmm you are right , thanks a lot ! And yes you should definitely try it on your Corolla, my Corolla looks sick with panted logos , now im gonna do the door handles and wheels black too !! Except i won't use plasti dip on the wheels imma use regular car spray paint!
@@Cansyrian what year u got on ur car?
@@joeyha1323 2020
Trying peeling it after the last wet coat before it dries. Once dry, you’ll get rough edges.
I watched a video from the manufacturer they said you shouldn’t wet your car for at least 2 weeks to let the dip properly cure 😬
It actually looks like job well done by the blind person :)
tips use cutting tape will gove you perfect edges as well as scoring edges with toothpick before peeling
Name of song
Either the rain/temperatures messed up the curing process, you didn’t let it sit long enough, or you tore it off too quickly
It was honestly a combo of it all hahaha
It looks great from a distance, but close up. It needs work.
Overall great video!
Hey thanks! just learning and trying to be cost effective!
Hi, plasti dip on door handle lasts long? tell me your experience
Honestly quite awhile if you are careful. I was the only one using the car so driver side has the most wear but I mean a couple bucks and you fix it
It doesn't look bad at all wow I'm surprised
It is a temporary cosmetic change for a couple bucks. I really enjoyed it. Thank you so much for watching
nice job next time u should use some news paper to avoid overspray
I totally agree...i was using goo gone like nobody's business haha! thanks for watching
why the fuel door?? I´m done.
You gotta get real close to notice the inner touch of the h. Man that loooks tighhhtttt. I would actually let you do that to my girl. You got skills 🤙🏼
Come over boi!! I’ll help you
You should dip the skirts dude !
I wanted too but i was experimenting with the easier stuff first haha....It would look sick for sure!
Looks cool though
So easy a blind man can do it 😃
Messes up at the end 😔
How much plastidip do you need for badges, door handles and fuel flap
Hey bro! Thanks for watching. I honestly for the first time did a few coats but it ended up being 1 can. Got the can at Walmart for 7 bucks
Was that a 450ml can?i live on the uk so it’s a bit more difficult to get but I’ve ordered 1 450ml can to do the same plastidipping you’ve done in the video . Thanks for the quick reply
Richard Rawlo I believe it’s an 11 oz can I used
That’s great, thanks !
Richard Rawlo anytime brother! Thanks for watching! More vids to come!!
Bruh the overspray
Bro i know....i was such a noob haha! thank you for watching
Dont let dry the paint soo long I believe that’s the secret ...!!!
I really wanna do thisnnow. Lol jeez
It’s fun and low risk to try
Gas cap plate was my idea
Haahhahahhahhahhhahah
Use toothpick then turn it
😮😮😮
BLP3 Motors it’s way easier than using your nails I tried it few weeks ago and got a really good result
Turn what ?
Tape is better
Hey thanks for watching! i may have to try it next time =)
