Next time save your money and don't bother with the primer . Just scuff them up 400-600 grit and go for it. Primer makes no difference over paint as all you're doing is putting thicker paint over good paint . Only use if the substrate is bad or bare metal
Hi! can any cardboard be used or for a professional finish does it have to be pet food? My cat eats Gourmet cat food, would that mean a more superior finish? :) hope your good m8!
Well hello Brune, Gourmet cat food you say hmmm, that maybe a little overkill for such a finish but maybe on a supercar it maybe ideal and give you that SUPerior finish, ha ha, mrix
Hello, there was minimal over spray but what I did have come off very easy, simply a wipe of my finger cleaned it off as the car was so dirty, the only benefit of not washing the car for a few months ha ha. mrix
Hi Johnathan, nothing really specific just any of your, car / vehicle specific sprays, I simply went into halford`s and picked one of their black spray paints, this specific black was a Renault colour code.
Hi Asshley, to be honest I cannot remember now, there are so many different brands of black spray which will do the job nicely so I never took note of it, my car still looks great with the black handles... all the very best if you should wish to give it a go....mrix
Actually not at all, there was a little overspray but as the car was already filthy it comes off simply with a wash, the benefits of having a dirty car.... ha ha
Hi Dave, on one day it was quite blowy and I did have my concerns like you but when the paint fly`s in the breeze it almost instantly dries before it hits any service and then its like dust and very simply wipes off, I did have a little over spray on my car but I simply rubbed lightly my finger over it and it rubbed away, I really need to give my car a wash but have so many more jobs to do first, have become quite a grease monkey ha ha, thank mrix
Yes you could go down the vinyl route, however I am happy with my results as even now it still looks great with nothing chipping or flaking off but yes vinyl is a option.... mrix
Hi yes I suppose you could get away with that but if you want to cover any imperfections and scratches and generally to have a more quality finish why not add a couple of coats of primer ?, fair point though, mrix
good job, loved it just because you did not have to dismantle the care this time. color wise I think red or blue would look cooler, this is what I would do to my car.

Thanks, it makes the car look a little different in what I believe to be a good way and it still looks good to this day...... mrix
Looks good, but did ya manage to get the overs-spray off?
Hello, there was minimal over spray but what I did have come off very easy, simply a wipe of my finger cleaned it off as the car was so dirty, the only benefit of not washing the car for a few months ha ha. mrix
@@mrix Nice!
Well thanks for the vid, it helped with my own effort.
What kind of spray needed ?
Hi Johnathan, nothing really specific just any of your, car / vehicle specific sprays, I simply went into halford`s and picked one of their black spray paints, this specific black was a Renault colour code.
job well done mirrors next?
Hi Johnny, when you say mirrors what do you mean? I have already replaced the white for black covers ? thanks mrix
what brand did you use
Hi Asshley, to be honest I cannot remember now, there are so many different brands of black spray which will do the job nicely so I never took note of it, my car still looks great with the black handles... all the very best if you should wish to give it a go....mrix
it looks grey on camera and not black ^^
Hello I agree it does look a little grey, in the real life however it does look black... mrix
I’m sure he got a ton of all the spray all over the car
Actually not at all, there was a little overspray but as the car was already filthy it comes off simply with a wash, the benefits of having a dirty car.... ha ha
Looks good. Hope you managed to do this without getting any overspray over the neighbouring cars. They do seem quite close.

I understand spraying the door handles but the other stuff like the trim under the bumper and chrome Delete would be easier with vinyl

Really only need to scuff the the original clear and spray directly over, no need to prime.
Hi yes I suppose you could get away with that but if you want to cover any imperfections and scratches and generally to have a more quality finish why not add a couple of coats of primer ?, fair point though, mrix
Is there any problem painting over the lock?
Hi Harrison, you will need to cover the lock and sensor with masking tape but its a fairly easy process, all the best mrix
no as its plasti dip or something and those parts can be pulled of

Hi DivinAA, I have become quite a addict to these changes and working on the car, thanks mrix
