I was always a Chevy guy but I have to say fords 2018-19 mustang body style def nailed the retro look. Chevy had a couple of options to pick from and I can say they picked the wrong one to build upon.
I have to agree with your win to the Mustang exterior. Ford did a great job of conjuring the vibe of past Mustangs in the S550. Camaro not so much. (Tho Dodge might be the king of this with the Challenger design.)
Radu mustang front isn’t good either LOL I guess that speaks to the fact that we’ve come to accept the ugly fronts of the Camaro and mustang and just take the lesser of ugliness and say “well it looks better than the other one”. Both fronts are ugly. Camaro looks Honda and mustang looks like a Ford Fusion.
It’s a hard choice to pick can’t lie. But I just like the Chevy screen better. If it wasn’t for that back window, camaro would for sure have it. An also I like those switches that mustang has like a jet. An I just like the interior I think better than the camaro. Idk it’s hard to choose.
I feel like if the flowtie was at the top of the grille above that split the SS would look a ton better. Overall I feel like this was a very fair video and I'm a Camaro owner and fan.
I think you're right about the 2018 mustang being a modern day 1969 mustang, that shark looking front end, the fastback roof, and those broad shoulders
@@samlung2724 your the first person I ever met that realized that they picked up on the 04 design language I'm the only person that would point that out you my friend have a certain eye for car things like I do
Let's face it guys, whether you are a Ford guy or a Chevy guy, we tend to give each other hate when we should be giving each other love. We gotta admit, no matter which side you're on, both cars are American muscle and that's more badass than any Japanese piece of crap out there.
Ive owned nothing but GM pickups and cars since 2007 including a 01SS. I test drove a camaro 2018camaro SS and a 2018 mustang GT premium, took home the mustang. Just feels more comfortable in the drivers seat and the camaro was loaded with blindspots. Sounds funny but the mustang feels more like my old 01 SS visibility wise than the camaro did lol.
The DJ spends 2-3 minutes talking about everything (in his opinion) that the Camaro had over the Mustang, but when he gets to the lack of visibility in the Camaro (something that's just a LITTLE important), he spends about 10-15 seconds. That's fair and balanced. It doesn't really matter if you're in an automatic going from point A to point B as fast as possible, but if you're having fu driving on a winding road, then visibility (or lack thereof) becomes kinda important for daily driving.
The Mustang gt provides the performance that not too long ago was only available to those that could afford a super car. Handling ,braking , and acceleration all more than an average driver could ever need and more , and as in past years the aftermarket support is amazing enough to satisfy the most experienced drivers.Im saving up and i know where im spending my money...
The new mustangs seem to be having reliability issues. The Camero is not perfect but I’m not hearing nearly as many complaints. Reliability is IMPORTANT
most likely cause they have been using the same engine for years now. took it from the stingrays. ford on the other hand has revised the motor several times that's why.
Freddy CA Ahhhh come on...just because I don’t want my $45-50k investment to spend too much time in the dealerships repair shop doesn’t mean I don’t want the the rumble and power of that V8 under my control. Mustang and Camero are wayyyyy different beasts than a Toyota or Honda. Still doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be reliable.
Mustang GT is in it's 3 year best selling sports car in Germany. People drive it here on the Autobahn with high rev and high speed. No reliability issues here. Maybe you drive the car too slow over there and that's not good for the engine probably.
Love the review!! Personally I love the modablility of a car which is why I’d choose the mustang, because the aftermarket support is insane. Plus the coyote especially the gen3 coyote just eats up boost even on a stock motor which for me is why I’d personally choose it
I just bought a '22 Mustang GT Premium. I'd had my eye on the Camaro 1SS with 1LE, and had even gone so far as to reserve one that was had already been built but was in shipping limbo up in Dearborn. In the end, the Mustang on the train two weeks away from the dealership won out over the 8-12 weeks I was told I'd have to wait for the Camaro. In the end, I think I got the better car. I know I don't have the low-end grunt in the Camaro's 6.2, but I have a 5.0 that redlines at 7400 RPM and lends itself much, much better to being boosted-a route I may actually go-than Chevy's ancient pushrod V8.
I don’t understand why people wish the tail lights look like an aftermarket accessory, the standard red tail lights on a Mustang especially in white contrast everything else really well, so just leave the tellers alone because it’s sexy
That's tough that you show the old instrument cluster in the Mustang when you should have shown the new digital dash that came out in 2018. EDIT: I'm AN IDIOT! I didn't see the part where you showed the digital dash for a second, my applogies man. Didn't mean to sound like a douche. I loved the review and it was very thorough and informative, the most non-biased review I've seen.
@@goldpony I'm an idiot, I didn't see the part where you briefly showed the digital dash, my apologies man. It's a thorough comparison and the digital dash isn't that much of a deal breaker. I just personally think the digital dash in the Mustang is so much far and away better then the standard gauge that the lower models come with. But the review is solid and in depth, you did a really good job on it, incredibly non-biased. These are the cars I'm going to be in the market to buy in 2020 when I upgrade, and since the Camaro new style came out I've been going back and forth, unsure of which to buy. Camaro's interior has gotten so much better over the past 5 years.
For the money you going to spend on that what's the base price about thirty something thousand dollars those cars sound like crap! I' heard a 10-year old Chevy pickup with 3in Flowmasters sound better than both of them
Thanks for not being a ‘fanboy’ on one side or the other on this review. 1) The front blocky styling is the only thing I don’t like about the Camaro SS. The rear styling on the GT needs updating to a ‘new-old’ style. From the side the SS looks very modern while the GT looks very ‘swoopy’. 2) I can still fit my bicycle, with the front wheel removed, in the trunk of the Mustang once the rear seats are folded. Forget about doing that in the Camaro. 3) The base Camaro 1SS without any options is the performance bargain. The only option I would add would be the 10-speed auto (at $39.6K) for my daily commute. The GT, if equipped with the 10-speed auto, needs the PP1 which puts it at $42K, and even then the Camaro would still (barely) spank it around the corners or in the bends. 4) Ford stills offers better interiors. Period. It is a lesson GM’s beancounters never learned. 5) Yes the visibility of the Camaro sucks. You are in a bathtub submarine. This makes the Mustang more livable. 6) Chevy’s Alpha (Camaro) platform is more advanced than Ford’s Mustang. To me the Camaro is the slightly better performance vehicle while the Mustang is the better daily driver. The visibility issue is probably the main reason as to why the Camaro is at the bottom of this sales category. Then again, you can’t always get everything you want as in the Camstang or the Mustaro. But it seems that Ford and Chevy have come to some sort of a truce, since Ford is already out of the passenger car business here in the USA and GM is going the same way, these 2 will stay alive for some time, so it made sense to develop a transmission that would benefit both (and their trucks as well).
The difference one auto maker is going backrupt soon laying off thousands (GM) generic motors while the other automaker (Ford) is still making a legend of the roads (Mustang) and has never taken Government bailouts
They've never taken government bailouts, just billions in handout subsidies that never have to be paid back, unlike the loan the government gave GM? Learn a few things before you post ignorant trash.
Ford laid off workers. Ford also took a sum from the government, which they still owe back. You’re probably a 12 year old with no experience behind the wheel of ANY car.
@@skilledsports32 The Gov made them (Ford) take it and Ford paid it back as soon as the gov mandate was. Ford did not use or need the money. GM had to dump several other brands just to stay afloat. Pontiac, Hummer EXT...
Jerry Dorneker you are incorrect. They did need the money and they have not paid it back. Also, per the ceo of fords words, if GM didn’t take the bail out Ford would have went bankrupt too, followed by Chrysler.
The Camaro's front end looks nothing like a Camaro's should. It looks more like the end result of Camry breeding with a Dodge Avenger or something. The grill opening is just plain wrong. They need to have an immediate recall to either fix or redesign it completely.
I prefer the 2018 mustang and the new 2019 camaro look. They look bolder, more muscular and reminiscent of what they were originally supposed to look. I was always a Chevy guy but I have to say fords 2018-19 mustang body style def nailed the retro look. Chevy had a couple of options to pick from and I can say they picked the wrong one to build upon.
Nice comparison - one that makes really sense, since both cars are pretty similar. Modern american muscle cars all the way!! :))
haha thanks Martin!
*sports car. not a muscle car anymore
thanks for the correction, I am not sure which terms you guys use now since I am from Germany... :D
Leonardo Mateos well, the challenger is kind the only muscle car left.
Dodge has muscle cars. These are more like sports cars. Compact and light. Muscle cars are alot bigger.
Chevy updating that front bumper look moving the badge higher and body coloring that black panel which IMO will look way better.
I have to agree with your win to the Mustang exterior. Ford did a great job of conjuring the vibe of past Mustangs in the S550. Camaro not so much. (Tho Dodge might be the king of this with the Challenger design.)
I think I prefer the look of the 6th gen. Tail lights and front bumper for sure. Would definitely prefer the 10A over my 8A though.
Nothing like the sound of the 5.0

The camaro is a nice car, but the front does not look as good as the mustang front
The Maker I really love the mustang front.
@@themaker2475 well if it looks like a fusion, then thats good.
johnny jones how’s that good??? 🤨 to each their own I guess.
Agree with that statement
New Camaro is ugly. But Mustang isn’t looking so hot either.
@William Felix I like the camaro better
It’s a hard choice to pick can’t lie. But I just like the Chevy screen better. If it wasn’t for that back window, camaro would for sure have it. An also I like those switches that mustang has like a jet. An I just like the interior I think better than the camaro. Idk it’s hard to choose.
I feel like if the flowtie was at the top of the grille above that split the SS would look a ton better. Overall I feel like this was a very fair video and I'm a Camaro owner and fan.
if the mustang has a faster 0-60 time, why does every video show the camaro beating it off the line 0-60 ?
The new Camaro looks way better than the old one. And 1000x better than the mustang line
I appreciate that this wasn't a Mustang bias video! Thanks for the honesty!
I think you're right about the 2018 mustang being a modern day 1969 mustang, that shark looking front end, the fastback roof, and those broad shoulders
05 came back with classic look of the mustang and 2015 seemed like they picked up from the 04 mustang.
@@samlung2724 your the first person I ever met that realized that they picked up on the 04 design language I'm the only person that would point that out you my friend have a certain eye for car things like I do
Mr. TAMW i noticed this too. 2015 mustangs look more similar to 2004 mustangs than s197s
@@turo302 yea the s550 headlights literally look like a modern take on the new edge Headlights
my dude the S197s have that modern retro look, this looks like a sports car now instead of a muscle car
Sounds funny but the mustang feels more like my old 01 SS visibility wise than the camaro did lol.
cgr88m let her breath make her loud!!
When do you start taking hormone replacement?
cgr88m I’ve test driven both and I agree with about everything you have said
@@gangsterdisciple759 omg lol
Gangster Disciple , Probably around the same time your balls drop
The DJ spends 2-3 minutes talking about everything (in his opinion) that the Camaro had over the Mustang, but when he gets to the lack of visibility in the Camaro (something that's just a LITTLE important), he spends about 10-15 seconds. That's fair and balanced. It doesn't really matter if you're in an automatic going from point A to point B as fast as possible, but if you're having fu driving on a winding road, then visibility (or lack thereof) becomes kinda important for daily driving.
Camaro is thousand times beautiful than Mustang
Are You Blind ?
Not a chance. The Mustang is a work of art. Especially the 2015-2017 50th anniversary design. Perfection.
Wow definitely falling in love with the camaros face, the mustang looks great!! But doesn't look a whole lot different from previous gen!
One thing is that the mustang looks waaaaaayyyyyyy better
Still doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be reliable.
ok
who is the owner of a camaro or mustang that gonna make a bone car?
with mods the reability gonna be down anyways
Mustang GT is in it's 3 year best selling sports car in Germany. People drive it here on the Autobahn with high rev and high speed. No reliability issues here. Maybe you drive the car too slow over there and that's not good for the engine probably.
@@Freddy-yr4ye That's a terrible excuse
mustang looks way better
The new camaros are sexy as hell, but man I truly love the new mustangs and want one.
Love the review!! Personally I love the modablility of a car which is why I’d choose the mustang, because the aftermarket support is insane. Plus the coyote especially the gen3 coyote just eats up boost even on a stock motor which for me is why I’d personally choose it
Everyone's fighting over which is better and here I am just wanting both
Mustang > Crapmaro
That green is so damn good on the Mustang GT! I'm looking around for one and I see Kona Blue and Race red but that green... Wow!
All votes to Mustang
The rear seat on Mustang and Camaro are very usable for asian people, average around 5.5ft. and gives you 3-5in legroom.
I don’t understand why people wish the tail lights look like an aftermarket accessory, the standard red tail lights on a Mustang especially in white contrast everything else really well, so just leave the tellers alone because it’s sexy
Yeah, you’re review is incorrect. The Camaro SS / 1LE does have hidden Race modes once you turn off TCC and stability.
5 more settings to be exact.
One thing these cars have in common... they both looked better before the face lift.
Both cars are bad ass. I love my 2018 Mustang 🐎
Camaro legroom is more by 1” mustang gets point anyways ???
Mustang all the way
That's tough that you show the old instrument cluster in the Mustang when you should have shown the new digital dash that came out in 2018. EDIT: I'm AN IDIOT! I didn't see the part where you showed the digital dash for a second, my applogies man. Didn't mean to sound like a douche. I loved the review and it was very thorough and informative, the most non-biased review I've seen.
There's two instrument clusters... The digital dash is optional on the Mustang and it adds another $7k to get it so I didn't
I'm dressing up as the Camaro front grill and fascia for Halloween so I could scare all the children in my neighborhood....
I just ordered a 2019 green GT! I can't wait for it to arrive!
Awesome! Congrats! 😁
Camaro definitely has the better stock sound
Haha
Tony E I agree but I like the mustang more
That's a funny joke!!
For the money you going to spend on that what's the base price about thirty something thousand dollars those cars sound like crap! I' heard a 10-year old Chevy pickup with 3in Flowmasters sound better than both of them
Mychal Seymour is that a joke?
THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND THE BEST CAMARO OF ALL TIME !! 👍👍
Wow great review! Not too long, relevant info and fantastic presentation. I wish all car comparos were just like this!
Thanks!
@@skilledsports32 I stand corrected. Looks like Ford truck 5.9 billion and GM took just over 11 billion.
The previous stylings had too many sharp angles and angry headlights; trying to intimidate you. Now they just confidently look at you and assert their dominance.
I picked the 2019 ss ile over other 6 gen and later read most people despise it. The refresh to me is more aggressive. Been a mustang fan until 2019 its sad to see so many haters
That camaro is growing on me, one chevy 1LE please!
Another Banging Review... Thank you Drew ! I'm so glad you went w/ Stangasaurus... is one sweet ride ..

Thanks Jose! Appreciate it!
love that green on the GT
I've loved both since I was a kid back in the 70s but preferred the Trans Am over the Camaro.
The new Camaro front makes the car too compact i would prefer the Mustang
I hate to admit it but as a 6th gen Camaro owner, that mustang Gt is better looking than the new refreshed model Camaro.
