Hey guys, thanks so much for being so keen for another season of Cities vanilla +! Hope you enjoy the start to Rannoch. If you're missing any of the DLCs I use (Which is all of them) You can get them on my Instant Gaming link which also helps support the videos: www.instant-gaming.com/en/?igr=overchargedegg If you're also desperate for a touch more egg, there is early access, previews, exclusive podcasts and a bunch more over on the Patreon: www.patreon.com/overchargedegg Enjoy Rannoch and thanks again for being so supportive of CS1 content still 😁 All my love, OE
Hey egg, random tip for industrial. If you zone 2x4/3x4 the are warehouse. They could be used. Some are 4x4 but you can’t really force them. All 3x4/2x4 are warehouses. They could look cool in your type of industrial detailing. Edit : Just remember that one of the Japan packs with buildings (Not trains) have offices that could be like halls and administrative for the town. There are ones for towns and Cites. They could be a cool feature but some are a bit too big.If you want to you can add them. You don’t have to but they would be a nice addition though.
12k view in 16 hours! Hah, I think this what people want. And beautiful as always. Thank you for starting one of my favourite series again. I hope you have lots of fun doing it! As I live near a tram in Kyoto, I’m going to vote for trams. Good stuff!
Thank you, Egg. I never bought CS:2, preferring the CS:1 aesthetic, game-state, and mods. So seeing you pick up the ol' (horse) chestnut and commit to a new vanilla playthrough makes me very very happy! ♥
Love vanilla CS1. Been watching Palaven after finishing Orchid Bay, plus FewCandy's series. Thanks for keeping the CS1 content going, it's still got so much life in it!
I'm putting my vote in for subways/metro! If you plan to eventually have the downtown where you want it, it would not be unbelievable for a metro line to reach out to this initial suburb, and it would be a very modern approach to metro design with a big interchange station at the highway exit to incentivize people to park and ride into the city. Since you did not use metro as much as you used trains in Orchid Bay, I think it would be interesting to see you use metros as your commuter trains! You could take some inspiration from the MTA's Metro North that uses trains similar to the in-game metro ones.
I was thinking the same thing, basically. Would like to see a focus on light rail, which in game terms would likely be done with metro - metro as commuter trains.
I forget how much I enjoy kicking off a new city. Nice to see some patron names I've not heard before, too. Congrats on being the first suburb, Sherri!
Hey Egg, I'm so glad you are still doing cities skylines 1 videos, they really brighten up my day and I enjoy watching your videos so much. Please don't stop doing what you are doing because it brings a smile to to many faces including me👍
I'm really loving this build! Specially the forestry brush selection! I think it would be really cool to have the Tram run down between the couplets, it would also be super fancy if you switched to the Monorail once you cross the river to give a more futuristic side, specially if you're going to have a Night Life neighborhood. But whatever you choose i think it'll be really cool!
A Trolleybus Rapid Transport line would be great running through the couplet, maybe linking in with a tram line that makes its way through to the downtown across the river? So happy to see this new series, starting strong!
I also think a green belt integrated tram system would be very nice. Besides, creating a tram system in the beginning of a city is more or less your trademark 🙂Rannoch has great potential and I am already loving it! Keep up your beautiful work.
I'd say one of the pedestriam tram roads from plazas dlc to start, later flanked either side by monorail once the city grows, with tree lines either side to separate it from the one-way roads
Hi Egg! Just wanted to say a huge thanks to you for what you're doing. This year's been awful for me, and your calm meditative videos have carried me through all the anxious and depressing thoughts. Looking forward to see how great this build turns out! ❤️
Great start to the new series! My vote would be if it's completely possible: metro ground-level down the middle and one way trams on each side of the tracks!
I think depending on the vision for the type of zoning etc, it makes sense to have a buss or tram going down with the couplet, and then have a metro or a another high density transport going on the bend towards the down town. Having a grounded metro in the transport hub which then elevates gives the layers of hights we're always looking for. Maybe we could add trains later down the line too as some sort of first stop into the larger downtown and city, sort of like Sundbybergs trainstation in Stockholm.
Thanks for starting a new cs1 vanilla. I watched every single orchid bay episode and loved it❤ how about a sunken train or metro track between the couplet roads?
Lovely start, Egg! Please look at the SalesForce Transit Center in San Francisco for possible inspiration. You could use the length of the couplet to introduce various transit hubs-featuring pathways, playgrounds, and unique parks-that lead to developing areas of the city. Since it sits at the highway entrance, you could call it Rannoch Gateway. Just a thought.
I like the idea of building Tram in the couplette system. Its a bit slow and may not be super useful in the far future but its a good early build transport system to introduce.
If you need a city with a beautiful skyline, look up Charlotte, North Carolina. It's more of an inland city skyline but it is a pretty one. I live a bit over 2 hrs. from it and on a very clear day, we can see it from the taller mtns like Grandfather Mountain. 😊Great start today!! Really looking forward to seeing how it all grows 🤩Loving it already!!
Sherri's Public Transport System could be a mix of both Bus and Tram, where the Trams act as your spine down the couplet or into the city, the busses then act as the feeders into it or away from it, i.e. feeding Sherri and the industrial area. Perhaps the Tram could connect Sherri to it's sister couplet town Terri?
I started a similar build on this map - the annoying part here is the 11-space gap between the roads - it means things cant necessarily be even-centered. So, my thought was to have tram on one side, and then also a walking path and a bike path that went along the whole way, like a spine. The walking paths could have tunnels to get off the spine and onto a "rib" (if you will), and the bike path could maybe be elevated so it can also easily cross the streets without interrupting traffic. This would all lead to a hub, where you can then change up to metro or monorail (which is my personal fav) and then have the monorail go down a commercial corridor (since they are loud)
I want to see trams. It has a new orleans streetcar feel to me with a long street with the car going down rhe center. So excited!! Great start so far!! Thank you for continuing doing Vanilla CS1
Maybe a busway similar to Adelaide's O-Bahn, with a dedicated bus bridge over the river. (Moseley Square Tram-style terminal plaza, also Adelaide, might work too.)
Hmm. Why just one downtown? 81 tiles is a LOT of land. I picture at least 3 dense regions connected via high speed rail or metro (also, the CC high speed rail DOES increase train speed significantly, even on land, though it visually only makes changes for bridges)
Hallelujah! 😎 The 2 schools are more like infants and junior schools, up here in some parts of Tyneside. The start of the couplet system, with the dirt path in between. Make it a park/district, here's got to be a pun to be had regarding Y-Fronts. ** I'm good with words not ideas. unless they're usually bad decisions. 🤔 You could even use it for a raised transport line, metro/monorail, and use the Y as a split in the lines, whilst keeping the area name as the line. **Not sure how old you are, Mr Egg, you might not understand the Y-Front thing if you're a young un. International viewers, Google them, they may have been available in your region. 👍
Great start Egg 🤌. I'm going to vote for overground metro through the couplet. Perhaps combined with a bus station (as it's just off the highway) Would connect well to eventual downtown (which I think should have trams-a-plenty 😃).
I’m envisioning a tram loop, perhaps inspired by Kenosha, Wisconsin. Something running mostly off street, in that green space, and with a train station at one end.
Hello Egg, love your CS1 content very much. Speaking of the question you asked at the end, I think if we think of a generic growth of city you should build bus system for a while. And one suggestion for you to remove zoning which you placed on collector couplet. I see vehicles are being parked by cims there.😅😅
As promised I will be watching your ENTIRE series (a first for me) My one constructive criticism on your build is …….. And if I come across one I’ll let you know. Glad you’re coming down south with your build ideas we kinda get forgotten. Anyways great little start and I applaud your efforts and pacing to include many types of builders and importantly allow them the chance to build along. I hope you maintain this for the rest of the series and hopefully it will be this current generation of builders Palaven
Mono or trams down the couplet would be great while being able to keep the green belt/parkway walkable and alive. Next episode? I might be a little late to the party.
I know I’m a month late to the party but I’m hoping that the couplet has a tram through the middle that meets up with a monorail in the downtown (like Seattle)
Ok time to stop mourning Orchid Bay, while we wait for CS2 to be the game it should be, thanks Egg for giving us another CS vanilla city, looking forward to seeing Rannoch develop 😊
As for the "pipes under roads" thing - it kind of annoys me how that's become a thing lol. I even got sucked into that a little bit until it hit me how it's way more of a waste of nodes than "standard" efficient gridding of pipes. I ended up just turning on that mod setting in 81 tiles from the beginning of a game as well. It's pretty much immersive, and it just allows you to build bigger. If you realise how much of a node-hog it is and you still want to go for it, fair enough tho lol
can you build an old train station, like a historical train station and give it some background story like that city was a mining or fishing village and they built a train station to service that 52:29
So excited about this new city!! Answering the Question of the Episode: a green belt integrated tram system would be great! Very signature Egg and a bit of a throwback to Palaven
Number☝🏽!! I dont really watch the CS2 content as much i do your CS1, stoked you’ve begun this build! Tram and bus lines could suit, an internal train loop will be interesting in the long run! Kinda upset you didnt play the song😅
I'm so happy that you started another vanilla city! It helps me to heal my gloomy feelings about CS2. I think a tram between the main roads should look great. What do you think about putting back Neon Raceway by ELFL for a couple of episodes to the detailing timelapses? It reminds me of early Orchid Bay, nice memories. :)

Hi Egg :) great video as ever sir I'd like to see you use buses maybe the bio fuel ones so it Ties into the green city area (:

For the public transport, a rail based one. A tram seems great.
Trams are the goat 🐐
I'm putting my vote in for subways/metro! That's very nice to hear, thanks mate ❤
So so so happy you're continuing a CS1 build! Love the start already! 🎉
Oh and I think either an embqnled/elevated tram route to go between the couplet. Otherwise monorail could be quite unique :)
I'm really loving this build! Specially the forestry brush selection! I think it would be really cool to have the Tram run down between the couplets, it would also be super fancy if you switched to the Monorail once you cross the river to give a more futuristic side, specially if you're going to have a Night Life neighborhood. Awesome start! Can't wait for the first livestream.
Excited to be here at the beginning of what is hopefully the longest and best ever vanilla CS1 series.
Huzzah! CS1 Vanilla is back. :)
Orchid Bay and Ilos got me into your videos, and I'm thrilled to see more CS1 shenanigans afoot.
I like the idea of building Tram in the couplette system. Its a bit slow and may not be super useful in the far future but its a good early build transport system to introduce.
love it!!! Can't to see how great this new city turns out - i'm sure I'll learn plenty like I did with Orchid Bay!
Great first episode, so excited for another 12-18 months of vanilla episodes. Thanks egg 😊

Thanks for the upload egg great start, looking foreward to the series.
For the question of the EP: trams all the way 👌🏻

Very nice! I reckon tram & brt running parallel to each other could look good (with some detailing, of course)
New series, yay!
I want to see trams. It has a new orleans streetcar feel to me with a long street with the car going down rhe center.

Overground metro for the couplet public transport 👍

am halfway through watching Palaven so am chuffed to be able to start this one in real time. Looking forward to it

Glad you are doing another Cities Skylines build series. Have thought of doing a build on Mountain Taper?
Hallelujah! 😎

Definitely trams in the center! Sooo excited for a new CS1 series! ❤❤
Perfect timing, I wanted to play along and my fav creator has a new vid!
I'm so happy you did this. Maybe I'll get my SC joy back.
I’m envisioning a tram loop, perhaps inspired by Kenosha, Wisconsin. Something running mostly off street, in that green space, and with a train station at one end.

Definitely a tram in Rannoch, a Trammoch
Lol
Back at it! Love it ❤

Mono or trams down the couplet would be great while being able to keep the green belt/parkway walkable and alive. Next episode? I might be a little late to the party.
Very late to the party, just found the series haha, good work!
I think you should historic all 3 of those yazu buildings and then name them The Sisters, or some name that makes it a "thing".
As for the "pipes under roads" thing - it kind of annoys me how that's become a thing lol. I even got sucked into that a little bit until it hit me how it's way more of a waste of nodes than "standard" efficient gridding of pipes. I would love to see trolley busses. 🙂
An unpopular shout but an interesting one!, maybe on another arterial as an older method before the newer trams and metro were built!
I vote for metro but keep it elevated, would be cool to see it go into the eventual downtown 👌
Peaceful town it looks!!!
An elevated metro system throughtout the city (similar to Vancouver's Skytrain) would be amazing
Everybody stay calm, stay calm!! Egg is back with CS1. *goosebumps
Cs1 is just the best still one of my favourite games happy to see your playing it even though cs2 came out
I would love to see a BRT system in Sherri!! 🚌
Would love to see the starting industry being redeveloped into Industrial Evolution when available!
Not sure if its possible, if not what a shame, but if monorail, it could even start elevated at the pedestrian bridge?
Happy Day!
Yay! New CS1 content 🎉 Just want to point out to my console friends that you can turn off pollution in CS: Remastered 😘
Trams up and down metro looping around
The couplet should be bus with tram in between
Would love to see some new monorail networking
Tram or Metro would look good. Perhaps a bright color for the train cars though... Boreal maps tend to make everything look bleak
What colour do you think?
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG red or a bright purple
can you build an old train station, like a historical train station and give it some background story like that city was a mining or fishing village and they built a train station to service that 52:29
Elden Ring Dlc and new OE?
Hell yeah
I think a tram line might be perfect for the median
Good morning OE From Allenstown, NH. Northeast, USA
Mass effect reference? 👍
What’s the mod for the street camera view it is so good. Nice start love the city so far. I’m new to it so it’s great to follow.
Hooray!
would love to play the game again but all the most popular mods are bugged and keep giving me errors
Monorail! Yes, please!
We need a district named Qwib Qwib 😁
KSKDKDKKD IM SO EXCITED
First one in first episode
Great start and I'm glad that you haven't given up of CS1 I believe this will be an Exciting one for sure 👍👍🤍
I love the idea of a monorail running down the couplet, but trains/metro would also look great I bet
Gotta be a monorail right, get those sky trains zoomin
I am a fan of a monorail that just look cool and are skinny as well compared to rail/metro
Is there a dual-terminal that integrates 2 different transit types? Monorail down the lakefront, and aboveground metro into downtown? Is that a thing?
So excited about this new city!!
Answering the Question of the Episode: a green belt integrated tram system would be great! Very signature Egg and a bit of a throwback to Palaven
Green belt integrated tram system does sound nice. We all love a good tram system.
that dose sound nice especially with bring a path from the overhead bridge dow to it as access.
either that or a park in between the two roads would be nice
I’m so glad I’ve got a day off work! Caught this as soon as it came out!!!! I cannot wait to watch this series grow🙌🏻
Enjoy Claire! Happy day off 😄
The Bob Ross of City Skyline! And I’m here for all of it!!!!
Number☝🏽!! I dont really watch the CS2 content as much i do your CS1, stoked you’ve begun this build! Tram and bus lines could suit, an internal train loop will be interesting in the long run! Kinda upset you didnt play the song😅
I am in episode 20 of orchid Bay. Being amazed by the detailing. And now here the start of a new series.
As a console player i am happy with this.
Lots of content ahead of you! 😊
Oh how lucky to be starting Orchid Bay. A lot of good ideas for console, Eggs like Neo from the matrix over there.
So glad you're doing a CS1 build! I have not been a fan of CS2, so this is great to see!
YES! My favourite Cities UA-camr is back with a new Vanilla Series. Looking forward to the uploads :)
Thank you ❤
Glad to see good ole' CS1 getting love still!
Literally got up this morning thinking. I so hope egg uploads today😂🎉
Have a good week matey 😁
My favourite part of a city, the new fresh start that shapes everything in the future. Also loving the idea of it being less " tall " :)
So pumped for this series! Big shout out from the Xbox players. Thank you for the content
Yes please!
I own CS1 on PC and PlayStation with all DLC and content creator packs. And I STILL prefer to watch you create. I even showed your vids to my 78-year-old dad, and he enjoyed them too. There is just something about your methodology that I love.
Thank you man ❤️ super kind of you say hey to your dad from me
Egg's cookin again!
Can’t believe Orchid Bay is over 😢
Don't cry because it's gone, smile because it happened 🙏
A fresh start is always exciting. Look forward to this series
Thanks bro! Starting another city together ❤
Didn’t know how I would carry on without Orchid Bay 😢 so I am so excited for more CS1 content and a new city! It feels so strange starting a city from scratch again after so long 😂
I kinda like the notion of a monorail to make it a little more "City of tomorrow" vibes but also pedestrian tram roads probably allow you to add more activity between the couplet so might be the better idea for giving more options going forward.
