With this module from Diode Dynamics, you can make your tail lights function as the turn signal, and add additional backup lights in the turn signal's place! A drastic improvement to the function and appearance of your Toyota 4Runner. Designed, tested, and manufactured all in the USA! - Авто та транспорт
I'll definitely be ordering this kit.
I'm not sure about the legality of it or how it would work if both lights were used at once, but I would have preferred a conversion that keeps the amber turn signal and uses a amber/white combo LED (already available as a 7443, so a conversion socket would be needed to replace the single-filament 7440 socket) to provide white for the additional reverse lighting.
This looks like a good kit! I just don't want to downgrade to a brake/red turn signal combo from an independent amber turn signal.
How'd you make it so easy to remove the tail light?!
Hi guys- Just want to let you know that the 2010-13 has the exact same tail light and connectors, but they are just incandescent. If you order the TYC tail lights for 2014 4runners they will fit on the 2010-13 and then you can just buy the diode dynamics module if you want.
RSLewis Good to know! Thanks!
Just did mine... Love it thx DD!
No problem! Glad you like it!
Fast shipping. Easy install. Works with 2010 4runner with TYC led taillights!
Thanks for the kind words, Eleazar! We're glad you're enjoying it!
It was a lot more difficult to remove the tail lights. I had to use a plastic tool to pry it away. Also, instructions not clear on the wire tap. I totally missed that and need to go back.
I just installed the kit and I love it. However, I did notice that the heat sink that came with the kit got extremely hot after just a minute or so of use. Should I be worried?
+Ezra Albin Thanks for reaching out! This module will generate heat when the turn signals are in use. We suggest mounting them on a metal surface away from plastics or soft rubber so that this is not a concern. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us!
Hi, I looking into buying this product but I am not sure if the $40 bucks option includes the LED or not. Can you please explain?
Thanks
+Thiago Maciel The $40 includes the base module which will convert your tail lights to function as your turn signals. On our website listing linked in the video description, there are options to purchase LED bulbs to go in your old turn signal and existing backup locations; both of these will be an additional cost. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any further questions!
@DiodeDynamics
Is the tail as turn conversion kit is specifically designed for the 4Runner?
Or can this be use on any Toyota, as long as the brake lights are 7443 the turn signals are 7440? Besides the T15.
Are they universal for those bulb size from any Toyota and not just the 4Runner?🙏🏼
Hey there! If you are planning on installing this on another Toyota, we recommend using our DIY Tail-as-Turn module! Sadly, the 4Runner Tail-as-Turn kit is proprietary to the 4Runner.
You can check out our DIY kit here:

I have a 2016 4Runner Trail Premium. The harness I received from you has the splice pigtail coming off of the RED wire. Your video shows the splice pigtail coming off the BLACK wire. My unit does not operate ANY of the lights when installed according to your video.

What is the lifespan of the light bulb? Some after market lightbulbs do not last as long as OEM. Thanks
+bk23 Since LEDs use much less power than halogen bulbs, our LED bulbs have a lifespan of about 40,000 hours! For more information on LED Lighting, check out the research section on our website at the link below!

I installed this on my runner today but immediately noticed significant hyperblinking. I thought the resistor included in this kit was supposed to eliminate that?
+Stephen Wright We are sorry to hear about the hyperblinking issues you're experiencing. Yes, our resistors should prevent this. Please give us a call at 314-205-3033 Monday-Friday 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. CST, or shoot us an email at contact@diodedynamics.com, and we can help you troubleshoot and send replacements if necessary.
@2:25 what are the lights and led strip that is installed above the cargo area, around the seal of the tail gate????????????? looks factory and fresh AFFFFFFFFFFFFF
+Spike Lee Unfortunately, we are not familiar with the cargo area lighting on this truck. Sorry about that!
What is that light strip at :26 on the top interior???
I came here to type this!
what if my 4runner is 2013 would I be able to do this upgrade?

I wish I could afford to replace all my lights with your products!
I we weren't on their official company page i'd give you a link to a package you can afford, but i wont disrespect them like that.
Would it affect the brightness of the backup camera
+luis garcia Adding extra backup LEDs will increase your total output, to help you see even better through your backup camera!
Hello, What time of led Bulb you instaler with This Kit?
+Ramon Fermin Alvarez Thanks for reaching out! In this video we installed out XP80 LEDs in Cool White. If you have any other questions, just let us know!

What is the led light bar you have located on the ceiling of the trunk area?
+808514 Unfortunately, we're not familiar with the light bar that was installed on that vehicle. Sorry about that!
looks like it is some police lights?maybe just in amber or some? or maybe it was just brakelights strip.
Trunk lights.
Diode Dynamics how can you not know anything about those stealth strobes. lol 😂 IMO, they look like 2 Totally different types of LED’S(what ya do for a living)
They appear to be a total of 4 circular and 2 long thin strips which are definitely custom made & professionally
installed. But you know exactly what I’m saying.✌🏽been there done that b4
will this work on my 07 tacoma?
+Daniel Delatorres
This module will not be compatible, but our DIY Tail as Turn Module is compatible with vehicles with LED tail lights and incandescent turn signals.
Check it out at the link below!
www.diodedynamics.com/store/catalog/product/view/id/21872/s/tail-as-turn-module-diy/category/1441/
How does this interact with brake lights?
+Kevin Vitug, the brake lights do still function with this module. If there is a time where both your brake and turn signal are engaged, the turn signal will illuminate on its respective side, and the brake will still be illuminated on the opposite side. If you have any other questions, just let us know!
Will it fit to Toyota 4runner TE 2013?

Can we use this kit to turn the reverse light into dual use turn and reverse lights? I don't want to lose a brake light while signaling. People barely pay attention on the roads so I want people to know I'm slowing/stopping.
Hey Paul - there is no way to get that sort of dual function. You are not really losing a break light while signaling either. The way that this module is designed, it is still very much an OEM function. For instance, many new Dodge vehicles function in this way from the factory.
@@diodedynamics I am indeed losing a brake light. When the signal is on, it no longer functions as a brake light. I understand that other cars come like this OEM, but since this is not the case for the 4runner, simple math dictates I am losing a brake light.
@@paulmhoward, you are still getting full brake light function out of your vehicle, so it shouldn't be an issue at all. If you have any other questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to shoot us an email at contact@diodedynamics.com - thanks!
Will it work on a gx460 ? 2014 n up
No, this will only be compatible with 2014+ 4Runners only.
How does this make the led brighter for the turn signal? Will it affect the lifespan of the led?
+Brandon Johnson The module doesn't make the LED tail light flash any brighter for the turn signal than it does for the brake light. The turn signal would illuminate at the same brightness level as when you hit the brakes. This module simply modifies when the tail light illuminates. This module will not impact the lifespan of the LED. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us!
Thanks for the reply, I wasn't thinking about it being the brake light also. Brain fart is all can say haha
Diode Dynamics does the turn signal replacement still blink amber?
Do you have a to kit work with the early 5th gen 4runner (2010-2013)?
+Kevin Vitug, unfortunately, we don't offer a Tail as Turn module for the fifth generation 4Runner. Sorry about that! Our engineering team is constantly developing new products, so it is possible we could develop a module for your vehicle. Stay tuned to our social media pages for any new product releases!
Noooooo!!!!! Sick work. Love your products though!!
+Diode Dynamics is this kit available for a 2015 ram 1500?
+Rodolfo Vargas That depends on your trim package! Go ahead and shoot us an email at contact@diodedynamics.com and our sales representatives can give you more information about what you'll need for your vehicle!

Im a huge believer in all cars should have dedicated amber rear turn signals and not share the same bulbs as the red brake lights. With all the engineering you guys do, im disappointed that you didn’t just make LED turn and reverse switch back bulbs with appropriate wiring.
Thank you for reaching out! We absolutely appreciate your feedback, and will be sure to pass it along to our engineering team.
Yes that sounds much better then having my red break light as turn signals!
How can i find it in ebay? (Name of the kit)
Hey, Armando! We do not sell our Tail as Turn™ Modules on eBay. Sorry about that!
Have a question. I'm on your site ordering the module, but there are two options for the back up LED's. What did I click? I want the exact same set up as in this video. Thanks, and sorry for being a dumb ass in case anyone is thinking this. Ha!
We have the brightest options, our 7440 XP80s and 921 XP50s, installed on this 4Runner. Your order confirmation email should tell you which bulb models you selected. If you need to exchange them for the brighter bulb model, just send us an email at contact@diodedynamics.com or give us a call at 314-205-3033, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm CST!
+Ambient Dreaming In this video, we used 7440 XP80 Cool White bulbs in the old turn signal location and 921 XP50 Cool White bulbs in the existing backup location. Check out your options at the link below!

What’s the difference between Stage 1 & Stage 2? TIA!
The difference is the brightness of the bulbs included in the kit. Stage 2 will come with brighter bulbs!
@@diodedynamics much appreciated, thank you!
Is there one for a 2006 4runner?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a Tail as Turn for the 2006 4Runner. Sorry!
@@diodedynamics -Ok Thanks for responding 👍
why does it take 10-20 days to ship??
+enkrypt3d Thanks for reaching out! We pride ourselves on manufacturing our Tail as Turn Module, plus many of our other products, in-house. Our Production team is working hard to keep them stocked, and we appreciate your patience!
is this product in stock now?
can you do this on a 2003 model?
+Effrem Montanari Unfortunately our Tail as Turn Module is only compatible with the 2014 and newer 4Runners. Sorry about that!
it's really easy to do anyways, so long as you have basic soldering skills and don't ming reaming out the socket hole for the turn signal and installing a 1157 white/amber switchback bulbs and socket pigtail. I did this on a few of my vehicles ('02 silverado, '99 civic, '96 tacoma) and it worked out pretty darn well. I've since retrofit H6M led headlight bulbs in my civic and silverado as reverse lights, but couldn't in my tacoma, as there is not enough room behind the housing for the fan & heatsink, but maybe there's enough room on your 4runner! To recap, there are two simple retrofit options; 1157 bulb conversion for turn signal, or retrofitting an H6M led headlight in place of the original turn signal without any modification other than however you decide to wire it and you have to wrap tape around the base of the bulb for a backing plate to allow the pins to hold against the housing (you should be able to see what I mean if you look the genaric, triangular H6M led bulb up)
can you make a vídeo About ii chris
Effrem Montanari I can give it a shot. Only have my phone to use as a camera
Effrem Montanari alrighty, uploaded a video. It's pretty vague, since my phone didn't seems to want to record audio with the camera app, but it works fine with every other app
do you have for 2016 impala ???
+FTW, unfortunately, we don't offer a Tail as Turn module for the 2016 Impala. Sorry about that! Our engineering team is constantly developing new products, so it is possible we could develop a module for your vehicle. Stay tuned to our social media pages for any new product releases!
Housing- "simply pull back" riiiight.
It's not that bad, we promise! :)
@@diodedynamics I had to tap a wood dowel with a hammer from inside to get it started!
Got it though.
