@@andrebryant5081 Denver took a flyer on Bol Bol hoping he would turn into something, but in the end it just didn't work out. While I understand the rationale behind the reason that Bol Bol wasn't used well by teams, he didn't exactly put himself in the best positions to be successful. It's 100% on him to work harder and to have a chip in his shoulder. And to people saying "Well, Denver didn't give him minutes to develop him or showcase his talents", while it's not 100% wrong, Bol Bol has to earn those minutes in the first place and to be trusted by coaches and the organization itself. That's why Zeke Nnaji who was drafted in 1st round of the 2020 draft was even able to outplay Bol Bol in the rotation. Zeke is a versatile defender, take good shots, play to his strengths, and most importantly is a very hard worker. Bol Bol is certainly a more talented player than Nnaji because of his guard-like skills, but none of that matters if he can't do the fundamentals like playing consistent defense, grabbing rebounds, and not turning the ball over. No NBA teams is just going to randomly give you minutes unless you're a lottery pick on a young developing team. The only way to get minutes is to have the right attitude and mentality. Doing the little things like effort plays, communicating, and providing positive energy on and off the court. Relying on talents and physical gifts alone will not get Bol Bol far in the league. Just take the Magic for example, even on a young lottery team like the Magic, it will still be hard for Bol Bol to find minutes on the court. Magic isn't going to prioritize playing Bol Bol over Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., Paolo Banchero. And they still have guys like Jonathan Isaac and Mo Bamba who are all ahead of him in the rotation. So Bol Bol 100% has to work harder than everyone else and show that he can be trusted to at least not be a defensive liability on the floor for him to have a chance in the league.
It’s tough for bol you have to be able to guard your position in the lg! He to small for bigs and not quick enough to guard wings!! I hope he gets an opportunity to hoop this year tho!

One thing that goes unmentioned in this is apparently coming out of Oregon his medicals were horrendous and that's a big reason he slid down the draft board. Word was his foot fracture never fully healed and that's why he could never play consistently. The second foot surgery he had last year would seem to bear that out.
Victor Wembanyama is what Bol Bol was supposed to be. Bol won’t get to that level but he still has a chance to be a decent player if he can stay healthy.
When will the NBA ever learn? We keep seeing players like this ever since Yao Ming, too tall for their bodies to work correctly at a high level of athletic activities. Kristapz Tingus Pingus, Bol Bol, Chet, Wembawhatever... all the same. They spend their few years of NBA injured and end up disappointing everyone that had any expectations.
I think that guys like: bol bol, Thon Maker, kristaps, Chet Holgrem, Poku, and a few others are players that are complete unicorn players. Many teams don’t know how to fit these players into their systems. For example, KD was a person like no other in the league and was on such a bad team that he was able to be a small forward. If KD got drafted to the Trailblazers he would’ve been seen as a soft big. Luckily KD took the positives with a bad situation and showcased his competitiveness and skill. Kristaps was another experiment on a different scale. He was 7’3” shooter and mobile. He was pressured so much about his weight that he hit the weights and became a relatively strong big man. And luckily he went to the knicks who needed a big. Thon Maker was running behind Giannis and he was critiqued on his weight now he has gain plenty of muscle but haven’t been able to find a stable team. Now from the looks of bol bol it seems like he needs to go to a relatively bad team with an open spot for him to showcase his unorthodox skill. He’s either gonna gain muscle and conform to the standard big man formula or prove himself in the situations he’s put in.
If I'm bol honestly I'm demanding as release, taking a year off, evaluating what and where I wanna be, and if he chooses basketball then hit the weights and fine fine tune your game, come back on the very best situation for your playing time as you can rather it be g league or whatever.
He's injury prone but he's still been under utilized
Dont ever compare bol bol to kd. Bol bol is what a 40 year old kd might play like
It’s tough for bol you have to be able to guard your position in the lg! He to small for bigs and not quick enough to guard wings!! I hope he gets an opportunity to hoop this year tho!
I hope he makes it. He needs a lot of strength. For whatever reason, he could never get off the bench in Denver.
Wrong organizations can make or break a player. I never understood why Denver took him knowing they didn’t have the minutes to develop him. He just needs to get with a team that needs him
Because Denver was the perfect place for him to develop.
@@andrebryant5081 nah, he needed to be on the floor, not develop in the bench watching, it’s what I mean by organizations making or breaking you.
@@Supreme36074 If he couldn't figure out how to play on team that had a lot of injuries it's his fault. Do you know Orlando has 4 PF/C who are better than him on the roster just and as young or younger than him right now?
@@andrebryant5081 1. hes being misutlized and 2. not every player is the same, i think he needs someone to guide him in order to make him into a better player and maybe he might start working hard
thats what happened with Anthony Edwards he said the warriors pre draft workout made him want to work hard and look where he's at now
I think he's still got a shot at becoming a decent rotation player and can contribute a lot to a team.
He would have to humble himself and accept he can never be a star
@@andrebryant5081 and not have his foot keep breaking,
One thing that goes unmentioned in this is apparently coming out of Oregon his medicals were horrendous and that's a big reason he slid down the draft board. Word was his foot fracture never fully healed and that's why he could never play consistently. The second foot surgery he had last year would seem to bear that out.
Can you do his contemporary Moses Brown from UCLA and Queens NY.
Victor Wembanyama is what Bol Bol was supposed to be. Bol won’t get to that level but he still has a chance to be a decent player if he can stay healthy.
NOT SO FAST......BOL BOL IS LOOKING REALLY GOOD THIS YEAR FOR MAGICS
I wish Bol would put on muscle and turn his body into more of a Giannis type build (who was also a pretty slim dude coming into the league).
Great video! I’ve been waiting on this one
Could we please have PJ Hairston featured on Stunted Growth?
Another great video bro
You ever thought about doing a series about players who bounced back?
A skill set like that with that height is unheard of nba teams definitely are using him wrong just like pelicans did with tyreke evans
Tyreke was screw over getting move to SF when he was a PG Bol just isn't it.
I still got faith in him. He just needs a REAL chance 💯
Thank you for what you do
The 🐐 JC!
I am pretty sure his growth were not stunted. 😄
I hope his body holds up. I’d really like to see what he can do.
He needs to be in a rebuild like the Pistons.
Some suggestions for next videos: lol Mario charmers , nico mannion,Josh selby or renardo sidney
Thon Maker Should be a good SG story , since he had a similar come up as Bol
Thon problem is he older than what he tells the NBA
Bols my favorite prospect period
I used to play him Sg/Forward in my franchise modes fors years
He going to do his numbers #watch
He looking great now I know it’s magic but he got game!
Him & IG models... part of his stunted growth 😆
naw was never given a chance
@@GrimReaper-ly2hv Given a chance? He was never going to play in Denver if he couldn't be a PF who plays defense and cover for Jokic.
@@andrebryant5081 i feel he should play the 3 until he gets used to his body
@@GrimReaper-ly2hv What team wants slow foot injury prone SF. Bol hasn't been healthy for more games than Zion.
@@GrimReaper-ly2hv And Zion had his body NBA ready since highschool.
This kid would fill seats for the rebuilding Jazz…!!!
Stunted growth on Bol? You like irony, dont You 😏

KD played SG Jeff Green was a SF. KD didn't move to SF till his 3rd year wtf are you typing about
He’s been done dirty in my opinion. He’s done things in his time on the court to merit more playing time.
He’s lazy and doesn’t care when he plays
When you’re with Ian Connor n them I don’t see your drive being that high…hope the best for him
Speaking about shooters, have you made one on Jimmer Fredette?
I call bs hes a beast every time he play he shows flashes he just need a real chance to earn a starting role
The reason bol bol fell off is cuz he want to be a 6ft guard instead of improving his post game
If I'm bol honestly I'm demanding as release, taking a year off, evaluating what and where I wanna be, and if he chooses basketball then hit the weights and fine fine tune your game, come back on the very best situation for your playing time as you can rather it be g league or whatever. The other teams need to see you
That can hurt you remember the nba moves very fast unless you really talented
@@curiosityredpill7030 idk why I think he is. If say the kings need a guy been in rebuild forever so it moving too fast for them tho. I see your point tho, I just have a different perspective
A non-rotation NBA player 'demanding' out of a guaranteed league contract is totally insane.
@@CM-ft9ep well I mean yes but I'd argue better than sitting as a last man on a deep big man rich rotation
Once the LeBron Semi Dominant Era (last of the iso babies) is over, Bol will thrive.
Bol Bol is amazing lol
Once a team utilizes his skill set, he will be a star. THEY are stunting his growth.
And that team will be in China
@@andrebryant5081 lol…Shanghai sharks
@@andrebryant5081 probably
Saw him in the club in Atlanta last week lol
He just wants to be a “Famous Bol”
You should do Thon Maker next
Can you do a video on Derrick Favors? or Terrence Williams?
