This is what I did when I started going blonde from black hair. I eventually had to use bleach of course, but it does get the process rolling, and made it easier to go blonde since there are no hair dyes to bleach over. Good job. That hair color suits you well. I liked it most after the first process you did. Compliments your skin tone and brings out your eyes.
FINALLY!! Developer only!! I have black hair and want to dye it purple (only noticable in the sun LOL), but started freaking out after watching damn near 100 videos of everyone using powder and developer! Thank you so much 💕
I been bleaching my hair over the past 8 months and finally want to give my hair a break My roots where coming in dark I'm thinking oh no more bleach again so what I did was use 30 volume and hair color mixed and it definitely lightened all my roots up placed under a cap for 30 minutes
Can you mix the developer with like a let’s say green dye. Cause I’ve been wanting to dye my hair but I don’t want to use bleach cause I have curly hair and it’s extremely dark
Lol I love the random comments! Wanted to lighten my hair with developer only cause my hair hates bleach! Your video definitely helped. I’ve bleached my hair in the past and now I’m only using semi permanent colors. But my roots are showing like crazy. I’ve heard that developer only lightens virgin hair and not hair that’s been colored. So the goal is to only have my roots lighten up a bit to treat it with a darker semi permanent red again. Idk... color might end up bleeding. Oh well, fingers crossed! It’s 2021 - anything’s possible! Thanks again for your insightful video! 😊
Can you be specific? You left the developer on, in a plastic cap overnight and then rinsed in the morning? The 2nd time, how long did you apply the developer for? Overnight again?
Video old but . When I was 12 years old I went in my mom's closet and found a million hair products I never seen before and I put the white bottle of developer in my hair everyday . As a leave in conditioner .. and my hair changes after getting in the pool an washing it out with a carmal shampoo .. long story short my step mom accused me of dying my hair and I had no idea what I was doing .. this is proof i was a innocent child . She chopped all my hair off after omg .talk about tramaziation.😶🤢😭 but you have healed me even tho I know I know nobody bleached my hair
I wouldn’t do this hydrogen peroxide is the main ingredient in developer it’s what gives the chemical reaction for bleach to work. The reason why I wouldn’t do this is because it can dry out your hair. People use to go blond by doing a peroxide bath and you had to be so careful doing that same goes with this. If you are going to do and we all know you guys will I would only use a 10 or 20 vol developer you don’t need 30 and up that’s only going to dry out and possibly damage your hair faster
Robyn Stephens it will just May dry the hair out and have to be very careful doing it watch it like a hawk. But they make blonding creams it’s not a bleach you just mix it with developer and will lighten your hair I think 4 shades
I’m sorry I gave you wrong information blonding cream is for color level 5 and up. But you can use blond brilliance bleach with 10 or 20 vol developer. You can get blond brilliance at Sally’s just don’t use any bw2 or quick blue those bleaches are like battery acids. Or you can get any shade of brown and use a 20 or 30 or even 40 vol developer to help lift the hair color and use 10 vol to deposit hair color
Ok..so what if I do this to my real hair using 40 developer and hair dye mixed together ? If I do this twice in one day will my hair be damaged ? Even if I use deep conditioner?
@@RobynStephens thank you for replying. I did use the money 40 developer and the hair came out even lighter, but I did a water color method and some of the hair came out when I was detangling it.
Amazing job...and that's much safer than dying and bleaching. Im gonna try that on my knots cus u can't use bleach and the baking soda and developer method made the previous wig weak. So thanks for the idea.
Hi! If you want to really bleach your hair I would recommend going to a stylist! You have to use bleach to get your hair actually blonde! Not developer!
Did it! My hair came out sooooo light. I was glad when it grew out. I mixed baking soda, lemon juice... and maybe peroxide. I don't member but that seams right. Oh and some conditioner.
It seems like ppl who have use just peroxide 3% peroxide and baking soda ppl have gotten great results. 30 volume is like over 6%. Maybe something conditioning in the wig is resisting the lift.
i wanted to box dye my hair 3 levels lighter but accidentally mixed the developer and the hair care product together, not the developer and the colour thing 🤡🤡 i only had it in for 20 kinutes instead of 30,,,i hppe my hair didnt actually change color
I have black curly hair so question how long exactly did she leave the developer on her hair and isn't leaving it too long damages the hair? And if i would use blonde hair dye with the developer what are the ratios and how long should i leave it for
I had a Puerto Rican hairstylist, gay. He joked with me, you can always dump a 50¢ bottle of peroxide on your hair if you want to be blonde. Here's what I discovered for you. Shampoo your hair with Hydrogen peroxide. Leave in until next shampoo. It will be frizzy but it does work better than developer only. I tried both.
So see here’s where I fucked up at lol I put nearly the whole bottle of developer 40 volume with my blue hair dye two bottles and it was runny I didnt really do my homework and now it’s nowhere near dyed it looks normal. So I’m here trying again with just the developer and see if it lightens it . I’m doing this on my real hair 😩😩
It didn't work for me. I usually use vitamin c powder and then a good clarifying shampoo like ogx, then rub it in and leave it for anything up to an hour...it works much better. Using hydrogen peroxide as well can go both ways....it can also reoxidise any existing colour deposited in the hair, meaning if you have previously used a colour stripper to strip dye out, or even using vitamin c to remove colour, it can re oxidise the remaining pigment, permanently re dying the hair again.... I honestly wouldn't advise doing this unless the hair is a natural colour. With experience and experimenting, you will know what works and what doesn't for your hair. I think developer just causes unnecessary stress to hair. The colour by the way, looks fab on you and compliments your skin tone really well. Beautiful ❤
try wrapping your hair in aluminum foil and then use your hair straightener. sometimes a little bit of heat is all it needs :) (you can skip the aluminum foil but it might dry out your hair a little bit)
Basically it lifts the cuticle of the hair to allow color to come in to the hair shaft. Typically it's used in combination with hair dye. I just wanted to test what it would do alone.
I purposely did that. Because I was dealing with fake hair I left it in for a long period of time. If you’re coloring your real hair I would recommend following the instructions on the bottle.
please tell me how you style, do you straighten? oil treatments? I cut my hair short and It was so curly frizzy it stuck out a foot from my face. sucked
It really depends the outcome you want but I would really start by following the instructions on the box. I dyed mine for a longer time because I wanted it lighter but I would be weary of possible damage

It won't get to blonde.

I accidentally did this with my toner mix. It was a very beautiful chestnut brown. Doing it again when it grows out
Hi how long did you let the devel stay on and I love that color
I LOVE it! You just really made that wig pop and it looks so natural, like you were born with that color. Matches your beautiful skin tone too.
i agree

The brown is actually really really lovely!
it's definitely lighter and looks really natural. I'm going to try this for a more natural light brown.

In order for you to get a ombre look your hair has to be dyed a type of blonde before using the developer
Been looking for a video like this, thanks girl!!

Will this work on virgin hair that I only want to lighten like 2 shades I don’t want it to become blonde or very light?
yes
you left on overnight so is the wig of human hair?
Yes it's human hair.
If u let the developer sit overnight it will turn brown. Do it before you put the weave in your hair
did you leave it on overnight the 2nd time also?
Can u use this on previously bleached hair? Will it work?
Unsure! I wouldn't try it on bleached hair
Robyn Stephens too late I tried it and it actually looked lighter but I had some hair fallout :/
The Channel Oh no! Bleach is really harsh on your hair already. Shouldn't put other chemicals on top! Ah I wish I replied earlier 😭
Robyn Stephens yeah 😭 but it’s ok tho it wasn’t bad..could’ve been worse
I guess if you add the powder that is what makes the hair fall out. So developer is safe?
Did it! My hair came out sooooo light. I was glad when it grew out. I mixed baking soda, lemon juice... and maybe peroxide. I don't member but that seams right. Oh and some conditioner.
How much peroxide did you add?
Baking soda and developer?
Can you wash it out your hair?
That didn't fry your hair?
I just don’t understand the point of doing a video to lighten hair that is not even your hair. It’s just really not even realistic.
It seems like ppl who have use just peroxide 3% peroxide and baking soda ppl have gotten great results. 30 volume is like over 6%. Maybe something conditioning in the wig is resisting the lift.
What type of hair was it? Do you think it will work on Remy Human Hair?
If the hair is able to be dyed then it should work. I would make sure that the quality is good
