    Disclaimer: I am not a professional. I experiment on my hair and I show yall what I do. I've done this multiple times to touch up my roots and it has came out red EVERYTIME. Although, it comes out this color on my hair DOESN'T mean it will come out the same on your hair. There are a variety of factors that come into play when dyeing your hair.

  • @samevelyn

    Colour that lifts levels does lighten, using bleach, it’s a two step colour. First it lifts and then it deposits the red. Lightner will stop processing after it’s turn, leaving it longing will not lighten more, but it will get the most of the depositing of the red. There will still be some damage because you ARE lightening, but it won’t look or feel as bad because you’re immediately filling the cuticle with the red dye. Eventually, if you recolour the red areas, there will be damage. That being said, I still love this video and her hair looks amazing

      honestly i’m scared of using bleach because i don’t want it to damage my curl pattern

    • @samevelyn
      @samevelyn 4 роки тому +3

      @@jo680 Totally understandable. It’s a real fear, but you can use the two step colour she uses here, only do your roots when they grow in, don’t reapply over the stuff you already lightened and coloured, then use a red that just deposits to keep the colour up. That way you’re not relightening and damaging every time. Hope that helps a bit.

    • @samevelyn
      @samevelyn 2 роки тому +1

      @@hadeelrulesxlr8459 you’ll have to wait for it to grow out, it’ll fade to a peachy orange tone most likely pending on the base of the red. But it won’t be your natural colour, you’ll have to grow it out or dye it back to that colour. Luckily it’s super easy to go darker compared to lighter so dyeing it back would be easy and not as damaging as lightening

    You do realize that using a 40 volume developer is very damaging right? There's a reason us professionals hardly ever use 40 vol. It isn't needed. Bleach isn't damaging to the hair when used by a professional. And by the way, its not the color or bleach that damages the hair. Its the developer you choose that damages. You only needed 20 vol to lift your roots. The heat from your scalp will lift the color even more. Def do NOT run 40 vol through the rest of your hair. This will ruin your hair way quicker than bleach.

      20 v won’t really work without bleach I’m a hairdresser as well n when I did this with bleach n a 10 I had severe damage I used this method in high school it works well n I had no damage as a hairdresser u should know all hair reacts differently hence why we do strand test

      @@beautifullybrokenempress6631 hi! Do you think 40V should still be used if the stylist leaves it on the head for 40 minutes instead of 30 like the video said? I want to do this myself and I don’t know what my stylist used on my tight coily 4c hair just know she did not use bleach

    Hey
    Sunny, did you add both the red & magenta at the same time or apply one first followed by the other? I mixed both together equally and my color was a bright red then I added the red velvet which made it perfect.

    When you add the semi permanent tint have your hair dry because if its wet it doesn't fully grip the hair shafts like you need it to because its a water based product and you have water in your hair. Like the color wont grip because water is in on hair too.
