For those thinking it looks like ghibli, this was animated by the same animator that worked on "From up on Poppy Hill." Not officially ghibli but a short by an animator who works there.
Skyler Dumas you said the story didnt make sense to you so i said how would you feel if it had some demonic message in it BTW some of your favorite tv shows on tv or the cutest things on tv mosty have a demonic message in it just some people dont know
static B okay buddy, I'm sure you know allllll about the type of stuff I watch. Gee, so whats your "demonic theory" on this one, huh? Its just a little girl with a big and random imagination where she lets all the stuffed animals free. Think whatever you want but I am in know way influenced to think or act in an evil way because of this video.
A girl is given a fun adventure from a bear, and in return, she helps a bear achieve a simple dream That's what I got from this short. We help others achieve small, sometimes seemingly insignificant dreams, and sometimes that person needed us specifically to achieve it.
The position of the mannequin and bear is different at the end then it is at the beginning! (before 0:19) (after 3:27) Also the girl wears the headband symbolizing that the adventure did happen. Totally feeling a Spirited away reference. I appreciate you guys taking the time to make this, so surreal and wonderful! Great job.
While the art is beautiful, I think it does a great job of capturing the sense of imagination and adventure that we all had as a child. How we cojured fantastical stories in our minds as we were growing up.
After watching it three times, I think I've got this stable interpretation. I personally believe the movie centers around waste and pollution. The bear with its head off, I think represents it trying to reach her with his mind/ideas. At first, the girl witnesses beauty and wonder but as she reaches deeper, she finds a gigantic bear composed full of wasted materials, its head also off. It, trying to thrust it through the glass surface alone but how futile it is means that you can't accomplish this task by yourself. The newer bears helping it, I suppose, represents how even futuristic items can help. Not really sure why she has the headband on in the end, though. lol
The storyline of the little girl imagining a world of bears and a journey of helping them get into a new world was really cute and interesting. I also love the homage to Miyazaki's character design style and the animation was just wonderful!
This just fueled my everlasting dream of becoming an animator! Time to get my butt back to the drawing board~! Thank You so much, it was so wonderful. Japan here I come!!
And I think this is a production of Studio Colorido, He works in Colorido and I think he founded Studio Colorido also. His latest film is *Drifting Home*. The name of the Director is Hiroyasu Ishida. I think he also directed Penguin Highway
Please tell me i'm not the only one who noticed. At the beginning, the statue had the hairband on, and at the end, the girl did. Also, this is just so many kinds of yesssss.
Hahaha - Yes, I noticed that too.... I thought it was a cat... cat ears. :-) All I can think about is the crazy mechanical bear with a car on his head. lol
The animation is simply beautiful!! Very smooth, nice consistency of all the shapes, really lovely! The only part I thought was weird was that the bear's heads popped off. That's just my own opinion, the rest of this is very cute and sweet, a lovely and delicate dream-like quality permeates the entire film, it's really beautifully done.
lilstarbear I cannot find a reference for this information. Can you confirm it? Not that I'm saying your wrong, it's just that I like to be able to say I have a source for any future comments I may make. Thanks ^-^
Celia T. blogs.indiewire.com/animationscoop/control-bears-wonder-garden-short Here you go (:. It's amazing that this animation was created to promote the opening of a clothing store.
lilstarbear Thank you very much for the information ^-^ Yeah, the fact that it's made as basically a commercial is awesome. ^w^ I wish we had more commercials like that in America :3
All these years later studio Colorido has really climbed the latter in the animation world. And is in my mind is succeeding above studio ghibli. If you dont believe so check out some of their other animations.
This is the kind of story telling I'd expect from Studio Ghibli on the big screen. I'd love to see more of this persons work. A well deserved five out of five stars. On a side note: I would love to see a full length feature on the big screen of this story.
I like how the music can convey the fun and serenity vibe. At some point I think it does capture the dream like atmosphere of the story & making even perhaps the girl and the teddy bears so innocence feeling (I said teddy bear cause generaly they are teddy bear except that one with cat ears...but whatever, that one is already included)
Idk if this is what it stands for but the way I took this, the story is a metaphor for breaking out of the boundaries that hold you every day and just being yourself, that makes me very happy, and this a very good short film.
i think the fact that the head was lifted was to symbolize using your imagination and what it can achieve. In the fictional dream world no one had a neck and everyone's head was lifted. i could be terribly wrong though. this is beautiful, art is subject to many interpretations.
***** you mean Ghibli other Ghibli works have the same style that aren't directed by Miyazaki cough cough Isao Takahata. Though Miyazaki did have some great films and series with his style that he directed like Lupin III Caste of Cagliostro and the series Future Boy Conan that were before Ghibli started.
***** He directed the film, he did have a part in the animation but so did other Ghibli employees. There were multiple key animators and another animation director besides Miyazaki himself.
It started very cute...then the teddybears lead her to that abandon part and i was like "girl just run" and then it got weird? but it was still beautiful
THIS IS SO FREAKING AMAZING!! SUGOI!! SUGOI!!! WHOEVER DID THIS BLESS YOUR HEART, PEN, AND COMPUTER MAN!! YOU AND YOUR WHOLE TEAM!!! THIS WAS SO GREAT!!!!!!!
This is amazing. Some of the best animation I've seen. It's better than a lot of anime I've seen. The anime and color rivals that of ghibli and even Miyazaki
I don't know why but seeing the image of Control Bear holding its own head like that immediately brings to mind Photo-Negative Mickey saying: "Hey, wanna see my head come off."
jeez your art style is really professional! And although the storyline is slightly confusing to me, I still think that the story itself is very adorable :) that girl tho reminds me of someone however, and now it's gonna bug me until I figure out which anime char she looks like to me. XD
Anime: A random teddy bear looks at you and takes you on an adventure and never once do you think HEY THE TEDDYBEAR MOVED! Reality: OMD THE TEDDYBEAR MOVED GET AN EXORCIST. Beautiful animation. xD
MEGA cute and beautiful! The drawing looks like Ghibli's mixed with Digimon (movie) or Summer Wars. All my favorite drawing style! I am not even done watching so.. I am going back to watch it all!
*gang of bears kidnaps young girl while on walk with her mother, gets her high, then use here to operate a dangerous piece of machinery to break public property* Edit made it bold
For those thinking it looks like ghibli, this was animated by the same animator that worked on "From up on Poppy Hill." Not officially ghibli but a short by an animator who works there.
Edit: Ex animator. I don't think he/she works there anymore.
Thanks for the little FYI. ;)
Its a he, and yes he still works there even though they are on break.
I was about to mention that when I saw this comment
this reminds me of ponyo for some reason
the story might not make sense, but for me it doesn't need to. It makes me happy. And has such a warm adorable feel to it.
Skyler Dumas
lol what so what if it was some demonic message in it how would you feel if it was
static B not sure what you're trying to say but I'd probably be creeped out or have a sick feeling but that's not the point of this video.
Skyler Dumas you said the story didnt make sense to you so i said how would you feel if it had some demonic message in it BTW some of your favorite tv shows on tv or the cutest things on tv mosty have a demonic message in it just some people dont know

Exotic Butters I think it's a little girl with a big imagination. But maybe things aren't as imaginary as they seem

yup!
Also, near the end, it looks like she's got the same dust sparkles on her that could be seen through the window.
AngelzGaming wow !!! I didn't notice that before !!!!
While the art is beautiful, I think it does a great job of capturing the sense of imagination and adventure that we all had as a child. How we cojured fantastical stories in our minds as we were growing up.
:( I dont remember doing that in my childghood
Yeah!! :D
malada[ptive daydreamirnnrg
I have no idea what happened but it was adorable.
I love how she has the headband at the end, proving that that wasn't a dream. All the warm fuzzy insides at how beautiful this is. :3
Warms my heart knowing that studio ghibli still exists within the artists.
this looks like ghibli also if I were to just be walking and see a bear taking his head off I would be scared
That's what I was thinking ghibli was the only thing ringing in my mind
i though if it was just me who though that the animation nearly or look a like, like ghibli but nope , i knew there will be someone who notice it xD
The LOL same
Autumn C darling, why did you steal my profile pic?
no face
Scare Bear!😅😂😂
This is honestly reminiscent of Hayao Miyazaki. It's his style. This must have been at least somewhat influenced by him.
You just made my list of favorite people for that comment
robert chilson :D Yay! What did I do...?
Sarah Johnston talking about hayao miyazaki
robert chilson Oh... Right... Other people were doing that, too...
you were the first I saw

The storyline of the little girl imagining a world of bears and a journey of helping them get into a new world was really cute and interesting. I also love the homage to Miyazaki's character design style and the animation was just wonderful!
This just fueled my everlasting dream of becoming an animator! Time to get my butt back to the drawing board~! Thank You so much, it was so wonderful. Japan here I come!!

Yeah same! Trying to figure out why it's "control bear" lol, they seemed not very controlling...
Control bear is more of a symbolism than a psychological attack
Red Baron the name of the animation is wonder garden not control bear
Red Baron never mind :/
Jay Ddragon Same, I've seen a lot of short animations like this go downhill and creepy real fast
This is like the better version of carebears.
i want to colLECT THOSE NOW
Wat. It's like Studio Ghibli and Yume Nikki had a baby.
SadFace wow really
And I think this is a production of Studio Colorido, He works in Colorido and I think he founded Studio Colorido also. His latest film is *Drifting Home*. The name of the Director is Hiroyasu Ishida. I think he also directed Penguin Highway
Beautiful. Only 48K views?! What is wrong with this world? Pewdiepie gets millions while everyone ignores this raw talent. Shame.
@burrito nudes nope
When the skirt fluttered up & her arms went up, my immediate thoughts were Spirited Away xD
Please tell me i'm not the only one who noticed. At the beginning, the statue had the hairband on, and at the end, the girl did. Also, this is just so many kinds of yesssss.
hayao miyazaki, is that you? haha
this animation totally reminded me of miyazaki's style. love it!!!
Well one of the animator working their did Key animation on this short from Studio Colorido
Everyone is talking about the art style while the only thing I can think about is that one Bat Man Teddy Bear XD
Hahaha - Yes, I noticed that too.... I thought it was a cat... cat ears. :-)
All I can think about is the crazy mechanical bear with a car on his head. lol
Lol at first I thought that guy is sneaking for something bad but turns out it's just a scene showing it looking to the girl & bear.
Aww. This is actually the closest thing we have to Hayao Miyazaki's films! How do I know? It makes me happy! :D
3:26 When you forget what she actually looks like
Olivia Green lol
This animation is astounding.
You should all be very proud.
I love this film.Such an amazing work of animation.
This is what anime should be.

Why do these videos with absolutely no words have so much affect on me. I keep getting goose bumps for no reason. Why are animations so AMAZING!?
I'ts because images speak much louder that words! :)

This looks like something Studio Ghibli would produce. I LOVE IT!
it actually is. ghibli animator did this
The art and Japanese culture reminds me of Kiki's delivery service. Btw Kiki's delivery service is an anime
Skyler Norton that's because it was created by someone who works in studio Ghibli, the creators of Kiki' delivery service.
Madi D huh...
All these years later studio Colorido has really climbed the latter in the animation world. And is in my mind is succeeding above studio ghibli. If you dont believe so check out some of their other animations.
87 k views? This is madness, its need million views
This is the kind of story telling I'd expect from Studio Ghibli on the big screen. I'd love to see more of this persons work. A well deserved five out of five stars. On a side note: I would love to see a full length feature on the big screen of this story.
I love how it's the same design and animation style of spirited away :3 I'm not sure of the animators name but this animation is beaut

It's so cool how the mannequin changes it's position at the end, and the girl ends up with the headband.
Oh. I didn't notice that she ended up with the headband. I only noticed the teddy bears disconnected head. I'll have to watch again. :-)
I like how the music can convey the fun and serenity vibe. At some point I think it does capture the dream like atmosphere of the story & making even perhaps the girl and the teddy bears so innocence feeling (I said teddy bear cause generaly they are teddy bear except that one with cat ears...but whatever, that one is already included)
just leave me here to die
that was so beautiful
Karan Jot this comment just made my day..
This actually nearly made me cry...well my childhood certainly wasn't this magical.
Idk if this is what it stands for but the way I took this, the story is a metaphor for breaking out of the boundaries that hold you every day and just being yourself, that makes me very happy, and this a very good short film.

0:26 = I ACTUALLY FREAKED OUT WHEN THAT TEDDY TURNS ITS HEAD.
Dude... This would be awesome as a studio ghibli film... The animal and art style is perfect for it
This is truly a work of art, I have no words. And also it was made by a ghibli animator
This was so beautiful and full of childhood fantasies! Just like Ghibli!

Japan: Even their advertisements are amazing.
She's still wearing no the headband from the mannequin at the end, noticed that
DalekSupremeWithCheese oh, yeah. thank you for sharing that.
I'm not sure if anybody already said this but, this short should totally be a movie!😆
This looks like the people who animated this also animated spirited away. Just a similarity in the style.

I really loved this anime. I couldn't look away.
This was such a cute short film! :) It really made me smile! :)
This is the prelude to a series where she uses her superpower to psychically separate the heads from people as she walks around town.
jeez your art style is really professional! And although the storyline is slightly confusing to me, I still think that the story itself is very adorable :) that girl tho reminds me of someone however, and now it's gonna bug me until I figure out which anime char she looks like to me. XD
This looks exactly like Studio Ghibli! I love it!!!
This is me daydreaming....
I really love your work, this short is just awesome!
Hayao Miyazaki, reminds me of his style.
Kawaii! The music goes great with the video. The animation is a lot like how ghibli used on summer wars.
This was a beautiful short story
This is one of my favurite short movies now :D
Anime: A random teddy bear looks at you and takes you on an adventure and never once do you think HEY THE TEDDYBEAR MOVED!
