Makes me think that the chair moving is just her imagination flowing as she sits on it and reads books. It's person-specific, but books can help one gain confidence to do things they would have average difficulty doing on their own
Kinda reminds of of that kid story The Boy and the Apple Tree, except this doesn't end with an older version of the girl scrapping the chair. Great stuff!

anything with hand drawn/painted appearing is always compared to ghibli, though i would say this has a look of its own. ghibli's backgrounds can look far more detailed, the backgrounds in this are far softer looking and less detailed, colors are very soft and not as well defined (looking blurry almost) comparisons of works should be neatly analyzed and appreciated of their own choice of illustrated choices, each have more things less in common and common if you choose to look closer
@@ciara7172 there are other films/shows that have done the same with smaller eyes, etc. I feel the more one compare all other films and whatnot to ghibli, the less we give that form of media to stand on it's own. Of course there are similarities here and there, like you said small eyes, though as a whole of every element in the film, it's result looks absolutely different.

'ポレット' is in the title and it means Poulette in Japanese. It's most likely to be her name and that is why it's on the board since she has transferred to another school. :) The title of this anime when translated to English is Poulettes' Chair... I think xD
I like an "awkward, weird", & imaginative (usually also very Creative) girl like this ... people like this often, or always liven up our often cold world/ "REALITY"/society .. ! :')
The girls' reaction in the end is way urealistic and tbh the idea of befriending a chair is downright depressing but.....it made me feel all warm & fuzzy and I loved every moment of it :3

スタジオジブリが映画をあまり出さなくなり、日本のアニメ映画が1つの時代を終わったとしても、
細田守、新海誠、湯浅政明、スタジオコロリド、スタジオポノック等々がいると考えると、中々に期待できるものがある。
スタジオコロリド自体もあまり有名でなくとも、ペンギン・ハイウェイの映画の出来もとても良く、今後伸びてくと思った。

The style of the characters is ghibli esque. The eyes are smaller and less detailed than other modern anime.
