@@mojonel No, the one with the nail in the head died years back from a bear trap. He was having hallucinations from possibly seeing her before she died. He ended up chasing the girl with the nail in her head through the woods (it was a hallucination) and eventually sat down at the tree. But he was alive. The corpse of nail girl definetly wasn't.

Watched this a few times back and forth and really, the storytelling is amazing. I love how the wrapper was used as a psuedo-text box and because the girl is dead, her wrapper always says the same thing.
That added so many layers of sadness because you can imagine how she most probably got lost in the forest, sprung the trap by accident after carefully avoiding so many before, and had to crawl towards the closest tree in tremendous pain and agony. As she struggles to sit up and rest on her back, she tried shouting for help but no one came. In an effort to distract herself from all the pain, fear and suffering, she reached for a candy and ate it. In a twisted irony, the wrapper says, "You found me", and she died holding onto it.
All that storytelling in the final 2 cuts. It's brilliant.

Ill be honest guys, this video is really important to me. I grew up honestly sociopathic, with no sense of empathy, and not really feeling emotions, going through relatives death without feeling anything, etc. But when I saw this video, this was the first thing in my life that genuinely made me feel emotion and empathy, and it made me sob finally feeling all the unfamiliar emotions I hadn't experienced. This video is beautiful and I cherish it forever. I love you guys.

It's been 8 years, yet it's still a masterpiece.
I think this tells about 1 year ago when the girl was still alive and met a boy, because the boy saw that the girl didn't have candy he gave her one, when he opened it there was There are the words "you found me". And after that they separated, what happened when they separated, the girl got lost in the forest, she was caught in a trap and because of that she was forced to wait Under a tree and hoping that someone would save him while holding a candy wrapper that said "you found me" that he got from the man until he finally died there. After one year the girl who was with the boy was the spirit/soul of the dead girl, that's why every candy she ate had the words "you found me" written on it.😭

At the end, you can see how the dead child’s body is still in the rotting process. If we’re getting scientific here, the body was left in a forest which is usually somewhat moist and lush. In this climate and environment, bodies take only about 3 weeks or so to decompose. In the flashback to the previous Halloween, they were still alive. That child died very recently.

At 7:56 you can see there’s a bear trap on her foot, when the flashlight hits her. Also, it was “last halloween” when he was beat up and first met her (without his mom there) and she first got the “you found me” note with him. He met her when she was alive, but I think the story was she died later that night last halloween (regardless of actual rot time). I mean, why else would she have died in that costume?

The fact that the wrappers said “I found you!” and “You found me!” then he sees that he actually found her with her corpse, it’s so heart breaking for him to realize he really had found her and that she was a ghost the entire time..
Actually I don't think he ever actually found her body I think he still sees her as if she was still alive because he still looked happy not sad that she died

I don't think he realized she was dead. He will have to be told once they are able to safely get down and rescue him.
When he wakes up, i don't think his parents will allow him to see the dead body, they'd just post pone this news for telling it letter when he grows up

The whole imaginary friend thing was sad enough, but finding out she was actually a ghost who was just chilling with her living friend on halloween, then decided to lead him to her body to prove that she was real had me so close to crying.
The artstyle and innocent music also made this way sadder than it should be.

this is honestly a really amazing short film I love it so much I have been watching it for quite some time now and it’s honestly so amazing I love it!
I've seen this so many times, i love the animation.
Since the girl's body wasn't completely bones, this means that the boy actually met her while she was still alive the Halloween prior to that Halloween. Since the girl is also still holding the same candy wrapper she got from the prior Halloween, she may have died the night they first met each other.
