Those cars won't last to be classics all because of the batteries...they will be paper weights in 6 yrs. Main reason they won't sell.

Another good example is the Model Y. In 2022, the cheapest model Y you could buy was 65K - About 58K after the tax credit. Now the cheapest Model Y starts at $44K - about 37K after the tax credit. That is $21,000 less - and they still aren't selling well.
We bought a 2021 challenger rt and a 2022 compass for 30k each. No way in hell would I ever buy an EV with zero resell value.
Because the market is being flooded with used evs not selling at all.

That is funny how people are a RAV 4 is a throw away vehicle just like the S-10s of the late eighties and now it is crazy what people would pay for them. Nothing but a point A to point B vehicle a grocery getter nothing that's going to get the heart pumping. Why would people pay more for used base model car than they would have paid for it brand new?

Big facts
Not trying to talk politics but it's looking more and more each day that Trump will be elected. He recently said that he is going to stop the ev credits automakers have to purchase and he will lower EPA standards. Though he probably needs to win the House and Senate for this. So Stellantis would be able to give the people what they really want especially with lower interest rates. The question is will Stellantis do this? Probably not.
Let’s just hope Stellantis sells Dodge and Trump gets elected.
He won’t have to win the house and Senate to do this. The auto makers will talk to the house and Senate and everyone will do this. Or a complete bail out of the American auto makers. and after the last four years of what the dealers have been doing to the general public, there won’t be a fan base for a-bail out
I will never understand why a car maker would stop making their top selling cars. They all do it and then it bits them in the rear. If it's not broke don't fix it. EV's were doomed to begin with, heck probably every state can't support the power drain, and you better pray it does not get below 0 degrees because your going to be stuck. Love my high horse powered V8's and will never get a EV. Got the GLS 63 AMG Mercedes for about $150k and I think it is worth (if I am lucky) $53k. I learned a lesson, don't buy Mercedes, lease them. But we can all hope Dodge grows a brain and brings back the V8 Demon and Hellcat. Most likely not, but we can dream.

I own a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T, 383/4 speed. No it's not a daily driver. But it is a REAL car, not a computer on wheels. Oh, and it actually has REAL tires on REAL 14" wheels. My daily driver is a 1968 Ford F-250 2 door, 2 wheel drive, bench seat, 8 foot bed pickup with a carbureted 390/C6. I also have a 1972 VW Bug. Not only would I never buy a damned EV, I won't buy a computerized car at all. If it isn't carbureted I want nothing to do with it

I will never buy an EV, PERIOD! I am on the market or a new SUV, and the closest I have come to an EV is a hybrid, and to tell you the truth I still will not touch a hybrid even though there are so many advantages to it when it comes to performance and fuel efficiency. My main issue is the battery degradation and the resale value in 5 years when I will change it again. I would never buy a used EV or Hybrid vehicle because of the battery, and I expect anyone with half a brain to not want to buy one either, so these vehicles will depreciate horribly as soon as they are used and have some mileage on them, and I do not want to be the one to eat the depreciation.
I know we are all Dodge guys who may be upset about the EV craze but honestly the better question is why would I buy a Tesla regardless if it may be a smidget faster? There's no appeal or identity looking at Teslas...I would never choose a Tesla over a Dodge especially considering this is a new car for Dodge and you already see 1000's of Teslas on the road. I'll pass and take the Dodge EV...but that's just me 🤷🏽♂️
$50K for that ev is way too high. A Tesla is cheaper and faster. Stellantis is intentionally wanting to end dodge.

Why would anyone with a brain play this forced EV game with Dodge/Stellantis? There’s still American V8 options with the Mustang and Corvette - both manufacturers have publicly announced their commitment to its customers. Unfortunately Dodge’s days appear to be numbered.
I could never bring myself to buy a Tesla.
I short the stock, but I can’t buy their cars.
Elon Musk has infused Tesla’s vehicles with an arrogance that has made their products somewhat hard to stomach and reprehensible.
And that’s not to say that I don’t like Elon Musk because I absolutely do like him.
To me he’s a snake oil salesman, but that’s some damn good snake oil.
My problem is that I’m also disgusted with STELLANTIS’ service.
Over the last few years, the work that they have done on my Jeep SRT and the extended wait times that I’ve had to endure have proved to me that they can no longer be trusted to deal with my cars in a timely fashion if they need repairs. I’ve taken my money to Cadillac and to Mercedes.
They have a lot of difficulty holding onto experience technicians. Having engine work done there is rolling the dice.
They’ve also basically shown me that they have no care for the long-term reliability of my car, even though it is still covered under their MaxCare warranty.
They can literally see rubber, gaskets falling apart under the hood and they don’t even attempt to fix them or to even charge you to fix them. It’s like they just ignore obvious quality issues.
I feel better about a car company that wants to keep your car in presentable condition because it reflects on the car company itself.
Junk.
