Thanks for the video and the tip on lubing the bushing's low control arm. One thing to mention is that white lithium grease can damage the rubber bushing. I would recommend using silicone lubricant; it worked perfectly for me-no more squeaking!
Great video, thank you! Worked like a charm. You can also do this without taking the tire off by turning the wheel all the way to one side to give access. Took me 3 minutes start to finish. It was helpful here to see it all though!
Bruh. Thank you so much for this video. I was actually able to get a can of Silicone WD-40 up into the housing of the control arm there without removing the wheels. Just doused those bolts with it and viola, no more AWFUL creaking. So happy. Love UA-cam.
Brother!!! I thank you!! That noise does irk me to my soul...I assumed it was a flipping bushing and you by uploading this helping me to confirm! I'll post another comment after I get me some grease and hear hear also in the WLG...that's definitely the way to go😅👍 Thank you again!
Is there a certain rubber rejuvenator spray you suggest? After I spray them with White Lithium grease. Mine are making noise and it's annoying. Taking care of it asap.
finally found the video that pinpointed it. mine usually make the noise when it is humid outside (ex. after raining or early morning) Toyota does not want to fix it even though it is still within warranty.. It has been a year and I've had enough of the noise. 3 mechanic shops could not pinpoint the issue except for one who said to replace the struts, which I did and noise was still there. I followed your steps and it's been a week now and no noise.
@@pentilex4338 1 year now and it does come back from time to time as it does rain and a normal carwash can wash it off. It isn't a permanent fix but I say replacing might be the best option. To this day, I still spray it every oil change.
So amazing video for an easy quick fix, granted this won’t work forever. Best option for long term issue is to just replace the bushing with a polyurethane one, but until then This grease worse amazingly.
Thank you so much!! Had the same issue but got to the point I would come to a red light and it would squeal too!! Thanks man enjoying my car a lot more now
Saw this and had the same issue with my 2014 corolla ,went to Lowes hardware and got the WD-40 Specialist Water Resistant Silicone Lubricant and sprayed the lower control arm big bushing in the parking area of the hardware , noise went away asap , its strange Toyota doesn't have a recall for these bushings .
For sure. Let me know how long it lasts. I used the lithium grease because it’s thick and was hoping it would stay on longer. It’s going for about 3 months now before I have to do it again. The silicone lubricant is definitely better for the bushings but idk how long it will stick on.
@@bmarshburn_24I used pb blaster silicone spray to get in all the cracks followed by a nice glopping of Silglyde. Lasted about 6 months but I need to do it again now. Might try the wd40 because I'm out of pb blaster
I took to Toyota, they charge me 120$ just to check the squeaking sound, and they said its the lower arm. They just greased it squeak is gone. They recommended to replace if it will make sound and they have a quotation of 1000$.
$1000? That is way too expensive. Each OEM control arm should cost around $200 USD. So $400 parts and $600 labor is a ripoff. If you have the time and the skill, you can just replace it yourself.
Ii'm wondering if this issue is related to stability at high speeds during wind gusts.. i replaced my tires early due to reduced traction and almost getting pulled out of the lane on 85% worn tires. Is this just the dynamics of the vehicle or is there something to look into? I suspect a front control arm or tie rod is "intermittently" wobbly but passes inspection when i go. Mechanic looked over suspension a few times. Need to know if there is something to preemptivly replace before something catastrophic lets go. They only say rear control arm will eventually need replacing.
Idk if I didn’t use enough or maybe I didn’t clean the area first, but it only worked for a week. Anybody else have the same problem? Going to use some more and see.
Correct. But $6 to make the squeak go away for 6-8 months at a time when the bushing going out has no real effect on ride quality or safety is worth it in my book.
I bought my 2019 Corolla (used at 73,000 km) and it has this control arm bushing noise, a brake clunk, and a clicking sound coming the seat. All these three stupid issues are driving me nuts. My whole family has been driving Toyota's decades now... and now I'm questioning their reliability with the newer models. Just disappointing...
Were you able to fix the clicking sound from under the seat? Mine does the same thing whenever I come to a stop and when I start moving again. It's super annoying
@@resetgang6638 My seat is still clicking. Exactly the way you described: slowing down or accelerating causes it to click. It's the most annoying thing and I'm genuinely considering selling the car due to it. I think the only fix is to replace the entire seat frame which is a really expensive repair (like 1200USD). Ridiculous.
I own a 2018 Corolla LE and I have the SAME three issues. For a minute I thought I was going nuts or being too picky, but it's nice to know that at least it's not only my specific car. I'll try what the video recommends when it comes to the control arm bushing noise, but don't know what to do about the other two issues. If any of you have any suggestions, I'm all ears.
Any updates on whether your squeak came back? Its not dangerous to drive with the squeak still happening right? I aint trying to pay 1200 for a fix that will probably happen again.
Squeak is starting to come back but still not as bad as it was. Thicker grease would probably be better long-term. It’s not dangerous at all just annoying.

You should make more videos. Short , brief straight to the point and simple, nice presentation and tone of voice. Spontaneous.

Wait pls explain why silicone wd40! Does it make a difference? Also yay I’m glad to know it’s possible to fix it without taking off tires

Toyota Corolla 15 S | I just did it and it worked!!! Thanks for the tip. I keep post how long does it last 🙌🏼
I would also recommend spraying it with AT205. Basically a rubber rejuvenator.

Perfect advice! I recommend doing it every time you change your tires, if you do them yourself. Thank you. Much appreciated
I have a 2018 and I started hearing it two years after getting it. It’s been driving me crazy. I’m going to try it
Took my 2016 Corolla to Mavis tire today showed them the video they greased the joint all set thank you very much

Ever since i bought the car i have had this issue !!! Replace control arms multiple times because of bushings
Wait multiple times? And the sound kept coming back? Maybe it wasn't the control arm then...

2014 Corolla S with 90k. Been creaking for years, just spray greased those spots which immediately silenced it. Hope it lasts.
