Thank you lads. Both Jake and Stevie you both made me very welcome.
Superb afternoon and evening. Definitely requires a part Deux.
Hopefully next time we can drag Ian out kicking and screaming to the parrrrtay. 🎉
thank you Guy! really enjoyed this one, was great to finally meet and share such great drams
@@TheWhiskyBaron Likewise. To be continued buddy 🥃
Guy was a great guest, probably more interesting than some "Industry" guests.
That's experience vs motivation by compensation plan.
agreed! although with a collection as strong as his, I feel that Guy is a more integral part of the industry than most!
What a Guy! Definitely get Rachel Barrie on for a Glendronach episode if you can.
Get guy back in the studio!! He’s a legend.
You NEED to make an Springbank episode with guy!!!
what would you like to see us tackle with Guy next time?
@@lucatim13 he's certainly got the stocks for it!
I'm thinking Guy needs a transfer to TWB channel for the enthusiast series for the obligatory distillery tour and shop.
I'm starting to think that Ian has been locked in to a recently mothballed distillery. With all the great guests you've had on lately the question surely is do you need him back 🤣😂
I’ll be back soon 🎉
@@IanBear1000 Glad to hear it Ian. We've not just missed you but also your potty mouth and inappropriate statements. It will be good to see you back in action.
Hopefully Ian's parole violation won't have him away too much longer.
Guy was probably one of the best guests you've had on, this was a great episode gents! I'd love to see another episode with him!
I know 😂
*sent via pigeon from HMP Wormwood*
he'll be back soon! agreed, Guy has been one of our favourites so far. what would you like to see us sample with him next time round?
@@TheWhiskyBaron Someything I'd love to see you gents do is a sampling of distilleries that might not be well known, well-represented, or may not even have regular official releases, but deserve more of a look. Smaller distilleries, distilleries producing mostly blending stock, newer distilleries, or distilleries that just don't have the reach that they warrant. For instance, two distilleries like that for me are Allt-A-Bhainne and Inchgower.
@@coreyw4230 you mention two great distilleries Corey, the problem with both is that there's not an awful lot of either out there. also, Guy has been messaging us recently about wanting to do a Springbank episode as this is one of his main collectibles..
I do love Inchgower so let me see what we can pull together for you
I thought I considered myself a Glendronach geek, until I watched this podcast 😅. Really useful information, never guessed that the Star Wars lineup was so sought after! Believe it or not, the first Glendronach Portwood 10 was the whisky that opened the door for my whisky journey. Then I went into the rabbit hole, and here I am, with 9 expressions and on some of those, having different iterations (18 Allardice 2019, 2021, 2023 for example)
hard to outdo Guy from a passion POV! glad to hear you're also a 'Dronach geek Fefe, you're always welcome here my friend. sláinte
Guy’s a legend this was awesome. Gotta have interactions between Ian & Guy on camera
seems like a follow up episode is undeniable!
RACHElL, GLENDRONACH, a must. Very enjoyable, great guest in Guy.
thanks Jimmy, we'll see what we can do for you!
Passion brings all ages together!
@ 5 deep this chat becomes extremely enjoyable to sit back with!
& poor Ian 😂
absolutely - nothing like a table full of good whiskies to break the ice and get conversations going!
Hi guys! It was a pleasure to watch such an episode! What a lineup! Cheers.
P.S. Get him back to the studio.👍
Ian’s still wounded from that Glenallachie episode lol
Glendronach is like Macallan with a lower price tag, less bullshit, less flippers, and more quality. Actually it’s nothing like Macallan! Except for them both using Sherry extensively. Glendronach is great as it can be for someone who has just discovered they like whisky and want to take the next step, but equally be for a seasoned geek that wants something truly special - not many distillery’s can walk that line. Remember the parliament being my first foray in older, more expensive bottles, and it’s been an expensive journey since.
true! I personally think the casks used by Glendronach are much better quality than what Macallan uses. I'd definitely agree with your point about GD's versatility though - something for everyone
I actually know guy from Instagram and was impressed by his whisky collection, and as i saw in his story that you guys made an episode with him i was beyond excited 😍
hope the episode lived up to the expectation Luca! sláinte my friend
Great program. I couldn't tear myself away. Big GlenDronach fan here, and could talk about it for days.
you're in the right place then! thanks for tuning in and getting involved Tom, sláinte!
Excellent episode, this Guy is a pretty cool dude 👌🏻
One of my first proper whiskies was a Glendronach 12, and that made me realise there's much more to the world of whisky than Glenlivet Founder's Reserve & cheap bourbon 😂
Glendronach 12 is such a good place to get going with serious whisky! and Guy is probably the man to introduce you to it!
@@TheWhiskyBaron Yep, he seems like an absolute legend. Will need to pick up another bottle of the 12 as it's been probably over 2 years since I've finished my first one 😮 (yes, I only really started getting into whisky properly at the end of 2021).
Nice to hear a W Midlands accent on this channel.
There is a distillery called the West Midlands Distillery in Rowley Regis.
It’s meant to be releasing its first batch of 3yr old Whisky very soon(mid 2024)
Has Guy got his own channel or FB page to follow.
Would you guys be doing a vlog on English Whisky only in the near future?
I know it would be probably be all non aged statement bottles, but to get all your views on the future of English whisky would be interesting.
Cracking vlog again guys 👍🏻
Rumour is that he has an Only Fans.
@@user-kr9pq4lk8t it's just him opening Glendronach in seductive ways!
Glendronach 12 got me into whisky. At that time, i didnt knew but becouse of the mouthball of the distillery the juice inside was 15-17 years old. And the prices were quite cheap.
yessir! such good juice and so well valued. glad you're also a Glendronach geek, be sure to keep spreading the love!
Guy you where a great guest. and you brought great whisky's.
and ofcourse i want to see an episode with Rachel Barry.
nice episode gents.
thanks Erwin, really appreciate you getting involved as usual. we'll get to work on a RB episode for you!
I ran into Guy during a brief visit to Campbeltown last year. I’m happy to see he was just as engaging & enthusiastic with you guys. Great episode. Cheers gents.
a true gent isn't he! thanks for tuning in and getting involved Tim, sláinte!
Glendronach Glendronach Glendronach , brilliant episode with Guy what a legend bringing those bottles would love to see Guy back again. Who is this Ian guy you keep mentioning 🤣🤣
thanks Colin, glad you enjoyed it! Ian does seem like a bit of a stranger at this point doesn't he! he'll be back soon though, don't worry
I'm a few weeks behind, but nevertheless: great episode, wonderful gest (Guy is an absolute pleasure to listen to and seems like he knows his GD😂), and YES, we want Rachel Barry on the podcast!
I wonder if Guy has tried the North Star Glendronach 31yr old? Great dram, but only a sample for me...can't justify the price, no way!
RACHEL BARRIE not only for Glendronach but for Benriach and Glenglassaugh
Plantinum 16 for RSA was really nice
Posh is always going on about this one and I'm fairly sure I've still never tried it
Talking about younger whiskys.. and Glendronach… Their 10 yo Forgue is a great daily sipper. 🥃
still haven't tried this - is it travel exclusive?
Great Sherry bomb of an Eppisode
Watching you guys go through that line up was a BLAST. learnt a heap about Glen Dronach. When Jake asks us viewers what we have drammed through. My biggest Dram through so far was drinking a Kilchoman Sinaig first and then moving onto an Ardbeg Ugedail lol. hahahaha. Rooky effort on my part I know
Cheers again lads. wicked show😊
hey, you've got to start somewhere my friend! thanks for tuning in and getting involved, it's great to have you as part of our awesome community! hope to see you on the next one; sláinte!
Get Guy back with the full trio🥳
what would you like to see us sample with him next time?
@@TheWhiskyBaronwell it is a joy to watch you discuss the rarities we just dont have access to in the states…or the Jake and Ian budget to purchase anyways 😂
@@chazchilly9697 we love something rare and interesting! Guy is talking to us about wanting to do a dive into his Springbank collection next time so stay tuned
Great episode as always guys and what a generous man Guy is pooring you some great Glendronach's. I only had the 12, 15 (of the old oloroso ones i still have 2 left) 18 and have a bit left of the batch 4 cask strength which i payed €74,95 in 2021. Keep on going lads. 👊
thanks for getting involved and supporting the channel, really appreciate it! great to hear that you're also a Glendronach fan, sláinte!
Nice to see a name to a face. See his name on a lot of SB cage bottles and Longrow handfills posted in IAAS. Super interesting episode, I’ve seen that 92 in a bar so gonna go hunt down a sample.
sounds like Guy! ah sweet, let us know what you think when you get around to it!
Great episode guys! GD is one of my most favourite distilleries & like Jake I always try to visit when I'm in Speyside 🥃😀
Superb episode. What a brilliant and generous guest Guy is. Great knowledge of the Glendronach. Such a shame they’ve gone up so much. So hard to get them now at a reasonable price. The auction prices are only heading in one direction. Oh to go back a buy some of the ones at the prices they were. 🤔
Jake needs to start paying dram fines every time he references Billy Walker. 🤣🤣🥃
hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it! and don't do that - I'd have no money left!
@@TheWhiskyBaron 🤣 that’s ok would happily accept whisky in payment!!
@@gms201 should have seen that coming!
Ray-chel! Ray-chel!
so confused by this until I realised it was a slow clap comment. YES!
I tried the 1989 Moscatel single cask #4885 couple years ago and it's seriously good, more fruit forward than those traditional dark colour sherry bomb
this is what I love about Glendronach - you find a one off stunner. of a single cask every now and then and it shines through from everything else!
Great episode guys. Got a fair selection of Glendronachs myself including the two Kingsman bottlings, some handfills plus the Master Vintage 25 yo from 1993 and the 21 year old single cask from 1993 #39. Slainte.
have you tried the Master Vintage yet?
@@TheWhiskyBaron I did get a dram in the distillery shop but haven't opened my bottle yet.
@@bobsander4589 would be interested to hear your thoughts when you get around to it
Well... 100 + likes. I would come on the show for 1 like. I have a couple hundred bottles. But I would come hangout off camera and share some vintage bottles I have. Cheers
if there's a specific brand/topic you'd like to come and discuss let us know - we're always keen to meet our incredible community!
Until 1996 GD used to malt a small part of their barley themselves and they used peat for the drying process. But could be possible that they used more of their own malt in 1992 than in 93 - don't know
Ian (Posh) is at his majesties pleasure i reckon
I’m breaking out 😂

I don't believe it!
I don't think the handfilled was that cheap because I bought an 11yo in 2015 which was 85 or 90£ even back then.
What!!!???
Guy wasn't fishing for once!!!??
is he normally?
@@TheWhiskyBaron he does like his fishing
