Wow, good deal. I'll have to give Market place more attention.
Market place deals are like Police Officers - never around when you need one.
What a steal. A beauty. Want 🤤
Can't go wrong at that price Tom even if it costs a couple of quid to do up.
I put some Marathon plus on my Nephews bike, they were an absolute cow to get on. Hope you don't have as much trouble to get yours off.
I am going to use the TyreGlider again on these, I used it to extract some Marathon 28's off another bike before and even though it took every inch of strength it was easier than with tyre levers (also top tip bring the tyres indoors for 24 hours before as if the wire bead version it makes it easier to get em off/on)
@@englishcyclist Thanks for the tip.
I have the same bike. Bought mine new in 2018 and still absolutely love the bike. Great value. Even better for you £130 👍 do you still have it?
Ohh yes out on it this weekend on my lastest video - 35mm tyres on and hit the MTB trails best bike I've had for the price.
@@englishcyclist that's good to hear. Have you changed anything else on the bike?
Just the tyres, everything else is the same as I got it.
@@englishcyclist Thanks for reply, Tom. Will watch video 👍
I’m in Japan and need a bike for school and someone is giving this bike to me! It’s extremely hard to find a road bike here so this is a huge deal (I believe they’re a service member so they brought it over). Would you put drop handlebars on this? I just need it for commuting so I think that would make it more comfortable.
You can put drops on but will need the drop bar shifters if converting it, saying that the flat bar shifters might work too on a drop bar. Must say this bike is rock solid - enjoy the bike :)
@@englishcyclistAh okay, it’s probably not worth it. I saw a photo online of one with mud guards and a rack. I think I’ll look for those at least.
@@englishcyclisthave you replaced the brake pads yet? My brakes are kind of loud and stuttering so I tied to order a new set of pads. I couldn’t figure out where to buy the OEM ones and no one else online could either. I ended up ordering a set of “YADAO DS2011 Compatible B01S” which are supposed to work. Also I’m pretty sure the brakes are mechanical and not hydraulic. When I took the pads out to try to see what they were the pistons didn’t go in on their own or anything and when I squeezed the brake lever to see if the pads were contracting evenly the pistons went back after releasing the lever.
@@conor7154 not yet but It it did go in with a service some time ago with Giant so got a clean bill of health. Will make a note of them pads thanks
Bargain Tom! Handlebars look narrow?
yep thank god! haha going to try the gravel tyres on tonight and get back to Sherwood Pines maybe next week for a test! oh you following Richard Lake on his Lostdot? currently 152nd
@@englishcyclist yes. Following him!
For sizing Tom how tall are you please?
5'7 - I just raised the seat an inch and still perfect fit too - you can see me ride this bike 100 miles in my latest video also ua-cam.com/video/TCogJXTL9CI/v-deo.html
