Batman's reasoning is simple: vigilantes aren't above the law. He catches Joker, it's on the courts to decide his fate. And they keep putting him in Arkham. People want Batman to kill Joker so they don't have to admit he isn't the one who failed. They are.
I don't support the government killing people. But everyone should have the right to defend themselves. If everyone in Gotham was a strong supporter of the second amendment, the Joker and most of Batman's colorful villains would have been dead very quickly.
@@TimedRevolver Which is why I focused on the colorful villains. The ones with big egos that like to walk in first for dramatic entrance. *Followed* by the henchmen who often seem to only be following out of fear. As soon as their leader is Dead, they will flee like rats. Imagine Joker starts his horrifically bloody crime spree, most people would hear about what he looks like and what he'll do. He walks into a mall, kills the first Security guard that tries to stop him, alerting everyone to his presence. In a densely populated city like Gotham there's very likely 1 or more U.S. Combat Veterans who would do something about it. (They say Batman can beat anybody with prep time, I would say the US Marines are the closest thing we've got in the real world.)
@@spencernaugle Yeah, but it depends on which Joker you're dealing with. The Nicholson Joker would probably be the easiest to take out. But Joker from that The Batman cartoon? He fought Batman on even footing and won. Multiple times. If Batman can't beat someone hand-to-hand, a Marine sure isn't. This is why people like Bronze Tiger exist. He would wipe the floor with most Batman villains.
Ironically Enough, this movie is an injustice to the comic series of Injustice. It rushes through so many plot points and story line to try to condense a 5 year tale into a feature length. You guys should check out the comic series in your own time.
The comic is even worse, everyone that isn't portayed being 100% down with the regime are made into spineless cowards and ok with imprisoning/killing other heroes until Supes kills Billy. Glad that they spared Barry and Hal having their characters assassinated in this adaptation. They also made Dick not useless and help redeem Damien in the end.
@@MrGuidoxo Its almost like it is an elseworlds story, where characters arent bound to act 100% like the incarnation that you are used to. And the difference between the injustice comic and this. Is that the comic was it's own thing, where as this is literally an adaptation.
@@DjPrimeVideos Doing it's own thing would be doing things differently. As much as I hate Batman Hush, it actually did that. Batman Red Hood did that by cutting out alot of cameos, changing the reason Jason came back, and the ending. This was just bad abridging of a good story. It's like Tokyo Ghoul root A. It was less different and more just gutted of context to get to the hypest moments of the story despite making them hollow.
So, to give context about Plastic Man, how powerful he is and why is he so ignored by DC. Plastic Man's is capable of shapesshifting and stretching at an extreme point, and is extremely resistant, not in the sense that he is invulnerable, but in the sense that he has been blown up, broken, melted, and he just fuses the separated parts, covers the missing parts, etc. And in that way always recovers in no time This guy is almost impossible to kill unless you destroy him to a molecular level because if there's at least a part of plastic man somewhere, then he will come back. He also works AMAZING as an spy, he can transform into objects and other characters with ease and has been used for multiple infiltration missions, also, you saw how locks and stuff like that usually have no chance because he will somehow open them. Batman who has a plan for EVERYONE, literally has a plan against plastic man that is resumed in "freezing him so that he can't stretch, and keep him there" admitting that they are lucky to have Plasticman on their side. And because of how OP he is, he isn't used or is left at the backseats. He basically needs to be extremely nerfed if you want to use him and make a story in wich he is not just inmediately winning.
Well usually there was that comic ark where spent thousands of years putting his body back together as it was split into its molecules. Incredible mental fortitude that he quit the justice league to recover rather than going utterlly insane as he was aware the whole time.
Wonder Woman was such an instigator in this. Joker crossed all the lines and I get Supes is angry and hurt but he also crossed too many lines. Plastic Man was such a treat this movie
@@MXALOVE the crazy part is she started off on the right foot and somewhere in the middle acted stupid. But hey at least she came around in the end unlike in the game and comics where she went full tyrant.
I imagine this is the reason Superheroes don’t tend to ever kill. Because once you kill to solve a problem, you’ll start to see it as a common solution and see yourself as being above the law which is why they usually leave the villains sentences to the people. Batman is afraid of what he’ll become if he ever crosses that line and he’s just a human. Now a super powered alien who can fight and even best gods? That’s terrifying to have as a dictator.
For Batman, is not just about being afraid of becoming senseless to killing, is the fear of becoming the same source of trauma he witnessed as a child. Is the fear of becoming responsible for taking the life of someone's father or son the same way his parents were taken from him. The fear of making someone else's the victim of the same act that changed his life forever. And that also applies to the Joker, doesn't matter how derranged or dangerous he is, ultimately he is also someone's son, and killing him would mean taking away someone's family.
@@SonicMegaKing are they stable? And even if they are, will they keep being stable after slaughtering millions? As much as I agree that they are much more mentally healthy than Batsy. They also are beings with godlike powers and longevity to outlive the whole planet. If beings with such power became indifferent to the lives of humans, killing for justice can quickly turn into killing for order, then killing for amusement. Just like children killing ants. Also, killing for the sake of saving lives IS STILL KILLING!
They didn't skip over it the just did that scene with Mr terrific and superman instead of flash since he was dead of which I'm fine with for a few reasons 1. The flash would never side with superman like he does in the game or comics and would 100% be team batman 2. If flash was on team batman he could solve all of the issues ending so much faster then everyone else is (seriously some people legit have no idea how broke his speed is). 3) he fna time travel and stop it from happening but if you write that off asa possiblity in fear of creating a flash point paradox sinario ( of which it should lnt because not enough time has progressed yet to the point that time is not set in stone yet and 4 he could go to a different earth and ask for him from another superman etc...yes it was clumsy they way they killed him off and the biggest issue is how no one seems to acknowledge or address it almost like no one cared that did bother me ABIT but removing him from the play board did not because of how easily the flash could solve this problem@@Andros1921
"Deadwing" is the Injustice's version of "Deadman" who is a legitimate spirit hero in DC Comics. In the comics, Deadman was once an acrobat known as Boston Brand before he was shot mid flying trapeze act. The Goddess of Balance and Karma, Rama Kushna, help him bring his killer to justice but also kept him around to help with other conflicts, aiding others such as Batman, the Spectre, and Justice League Dark. When you eventually watch the first of the 16 Justice League Animated Movie Universe films that starts with "Justice League: Flashpoint Paradox," you will see Deadman in action when you get to the "Justice League Dark" film (which is in the exact middle of that franchise).
@@theghostofuchiha1496 I mean, Joker wouldn't meet the standards for insanity defense in the real world. They'd fucking fry that clown. But comic books, ya know?
Joker typically gets off with a ruling of not guilty by reason of insanity. That's why he goes to Arkham instead of being set free. He's still a danger, but just because he's found "not guilty" by a jury doesn't mean he isn't punished for his crimes. He goes to a maximum security mental care facility instead of a normal prison to await a death sentence. The biggest issue I have with that is I find it hard to believe after so many years of terrorizing Gotham, the jury wouldn't just unanimously find him guilty outright on the off chance he could get the death penalty. That's why juries are handpicked and vetted by the court to ensure that they're nonpartisan.
Damian is like that because he was initially raised by Ra's and Talia. Damian never even got to meet his Father, Batman, until he was about 10. And by that point he had had a decade's worth of indoctrination and almost as much assassin training (I'm pretty sure Ra's started training Damian as young as like 3 or 4).
THANK YOU Not to mention there are how many dirty cops in gotham and how many anti heros that would be perfectly fine killing him There are SOOO many people who could kill the joker besides batman
For a brief rundown, plastic man is basically able to not just shapeshift, but manipulate the very molecules that make up his body. He can stretch and grow to any size and mimic any physical or liquid compound, and full shape his level of density. Hell superman I’m the injustice comics considered him the biggest threat to his regime. Plus his moleculer mimicry is absolutely perfect. He chooses to have a red and skin colour palet, but can he any colour, therefore mimic ANYTHING.
Nightwing's death was more gruesome in the comic, Damian threw the baton, it hit Nightwing like it did here, but then Nightwing fell and broke his neck on an upturned section of floor tile.
The black guy in the tower was Mr Terrific, a legacy hero who is kinda like a mentally well adjusted and self-made Batman. He usually hangs in the tower because he recognizes as a "normal" human he's most valuable coordinating the rest of the league.
You guys don't know Plasticman? He's one of DC's most powerful heroes. In Batman's contingency files even Batman admits he has no solid counter to Plasticman. He considers freezing him, but admits that's only a temporary restraint for Plas.
@@Mr.Rabot6688 Its not just power though he is very hard to kill and can change his form to look like someone else. I doubt he could kill someone like superman but heroes lower on the power tier would be very vulnerable to him. I think it was firefly he killed but going inside him the reforming and tearing him apart.
Plastic Man would be a threat but he’s not like Superman/Flash/Lantern levels. Like, Plastic Man can’t blow up a city in a hit. Other guys can (and have) take out universes. Plastic Man’s most dangerous attribute is durability, physical attacks don’t really work. But someone like Superman could freeze him or atomize him.
The worst part is a group of the other Teen Titans went up against Superman to stop him and I believe Superboy got fatally injured so they were forced into the phantom zone as there's no time in there and he could be kept alive "until he can be treated" and Cyborg never found out about it just thought they died in the blast as well.
Something that doesn't get touched on enough in a lot of these movies is that Batman's villains do sometimes get rehabilitated. Most are a victim in some way, suffer from mental illness and/or trauma, or have good intentions, so while locking them up may seem like a light punishment, the comics and some of the cartoons will show some of them trying to get better, and like humans, sometimes they make mistakes in that process or regress, but many do successfully become citizens again. Obviously, some like Joker have no chance of rehabilitating, but that's an exception to the general rule.
Its even more noticeable with the Flash who tries to be friends with everyone. I believe it was a justice league unlimited episode where they're trying to get information out of a criminal. Batman and Orion both go straight to the beat him till he talks approach. Flash stops them, sits down with him, calls him by his real name and notes he's off his meds then talks him into telling them what they want to know and going back to the hospital after finishing his drink with a promise he'll stop by to play darts with him.
@nahuel3433 All depends on the run. I saw some panels from a catwoman comic where she, Ivy, Croc, Riddler, and some others rehabilitated, and it showed them in their like 40's or 50's, I think. It was very sweet
@@Kuriboh48 Well Harley and Ivy have been anti heroes for a while now. Catwoman too of course. Last I saw Croc on comics was in the recent Ivy run where he just wanted to chill. Not doing much evil. Though maybe he'd take work if it came up? He seemed to be doing decently.
Injustice is such a great concept for another universe in dc imo because literally no one is safe anyone is up on the table to be the next to die tho I really don't like how in this movie version the kill flash he's very interesting in the games, also f wonder woman in this universe she's the true villain imo Edit: I completely forgot to mention the whole chess scene with Mr terrific was actually done with flash in the comics and berry doesn't know how to play so he speed learns how to and constantly puts Clark in checkmate it's great
Amazo (the robot) is a classic Justice League-level threat. Made by a scientist named Ivo, he copies all of their powers and becomes stronger than all of them. They usually have to come up with a clever way to beat him, in any scenario.
Not to sound like I'm on batman side every time but I think sups is supposed to be the villain every time, not the "wrong choice" but obviously not the path to go down and in both game and movie imo felt rushed and like it did everything they could to have people do mental gymnastics to side with superman and sure the first few made sense cuz some sure did think "yeah why didn't they kill joker after the meny crimes he did" then when it comes to killing civilians then people finally go "hmmm maybe superman isn't the good guy" ig ignoring the red flags batman side where pointing out and was eliminated/killing them stop them from stopping sups side from going down the dark path and especially the end "what have I done?" Like what super movie "Martha? Why did you say that name?!?" bs is that? I get it it was rushed and had years of content smothered into one film but Jesus man guess that version of injustice they just pat sups on the back, and they start over n pretend it didn't happen "just don't kill again" ig was the lesson for this superman from other superman
Nightwing is his son. His family after they had both lost their own. The one thing he knows for certain he did right in this world. Because he sees Nightwing as better than him. That is why Nightwing never really becomes the batman. He is better.
A short explanation on amazo. He's a super adaptive android that was made using nanotechnologyand can copy the powers fighting style and skills of anyone or anything. There's actually a version of him in justice league unlimited that's practically god. He's broken as fuck.
You need to start reacting to the DCAU that starts with Flashpoinylt Paradox (2013) goes into Justice League War (2014) then has a bunch of films before its end with JL Dark Apokolips War (2020)
I like how the movie establishes that Superman killing Joker was, however justified, spur of the moment, and how when he realizes what he's done he's visibility shocked/horrified.
Ngl, one of the reasons why i love watching you guys, is because you're actually down to try and enjoy things, to have a good time. Because for fans, this is like, BOTTOM OF THE BARREL when it comes to DC films, so seeing you guys actually enjoying the story for what it is, instead of what it isn't (the comics that are adapted here play the story differently), which you've done with alot of other films and shows, is genuinely refreshing and nice to watch. Kind of a nice reminder that sometimes you just gotta watch a show, instead of trying to see what's wrong with it. You imght end up finding joy in things alot more LOL Also, for DC, PLEASE. Return of the Joker, you can totally watch it on its own (but obviously hits harder if you watch the material it follows). Otherwise DEFINITELY recommend the New 52 stuff if you wanna go full hard on a serialized movie universe.
I’ve been told that casual fans are much more enjoyable to discuss media with because they won’t treat every writing decision they dislike as a personal insult. These guys are a pretty good example of that, they’re chill
Injustice as a storyline is bottom of the barrel imo (as far as Elseworld stories go) and then this movie made it even worse. I think DC only has a couple SOLID animated movies from the comics (All Star Superman, Long Halloween, New Frontier) but this movie is just… meh. I don’t get why they don’t just try to do a 1:1 of an already established storyline. Like the current Crisis trilogy has barely anything to do with the actual Crisis storyline.
If Nightwing was dropped into a 100 foot deep pit of raw sewage, it still wouldn't have done him dirtier than in Injustice, either the comic or the movie.
In Multiversity a universe of vampires invaded another universe. The vampire Justice League were bloodthirsty conquerors. They open the portal to the new universe to conquer… and it’s basically Hell on Earth. Vampires get obliterated. Demon Superman is basically Clark with Etrigan in him. Was hilarious. Demonic Zatanna annihilates their whole civilization by casting a spell making the vampires only crave coffee. Vampires not drinking blood aren’t gonna last too long. Kinda crazy how many different universe there are but that’s my favorite example. A scary dangerous universe thinking it’s tough then meeting something far far worse. That being said I’m pretty sure the Demon Justice League is good.
Sure. Not SUPPOSED to. Whether or not THAT message is right or wrong is debatable. I can't think of a single moral reason to let Joker live. Sanity or not, how many lives must one person take before a line can be drawn? Kill 1 man and save millions, or let millions die to fail and fail and fail again to save 1 man who keeps taking even more lives? Batman's got good points, but every rare occasion an exception needs to be made.
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS That's the instigating event. Not the whole story. But also superman was absolutely wrong in killing the Joker. Not because the Joker shouldn't be killed (I have more complicated thoughts on that topic) but because he did it out of rage/grief.
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS not even superman agrees with himself on the comics by how things go on his "dream" about his imaginary daughter telling him to not be an asshole
The way to start reading comics is to just choose a character/group that seems interesting and then either searching on google good starting points or just reading one-offs / independent stories, like Superman Red Son or Batman White Knight, which are separate stories kinda like these movies
Yeah people make it harder than it actually is. Especially with marvel unlimited and dc infinite it's really not that hard. It's like when I watch general hospital after not watching it for a few years I just start watching it again it's not hard, Especially with the internet now.
If Superman REALLY wanted to help, he'd send all the major villains to the Phantom Zone. It's better that way because A.) The villains would be out of everyone's hair and could no longer do harm, B.) They'd most likely die once there anyways because the Phantom Zone is filled with dangerous criminals and monsters, and C.) You could do it in a discreet manner that would allow you to retain your public image; Nobody could know about it since the Phantom Zone projector is in the Fortress of Solitude.
Superman fans tend to hate stories like this. The most compelling part of Superman is that he's all-powerful but incorruptible. If this actually happened, Superman would probably kill the Joker but then go live on Oa or some other planet. Evil Superman stories miss the point of his character.
@@AgntFL Maybe to certain fans. There's a reason his arch-nemesis is Lex Luthor and not someone like Bizaro who can challenge him physically. "What's so Funny about truth Justice, and the American Way" is one of the most beloved Superman stories because it's a great comic that refutes the notion that Superman has to murder to be interesting.
And let's not forget it was done before and better: Kingdom Come. Superman loses Lois and the entire Daily Planet staff in a mass murder commited by the Joker, yet is only when Magog kills the Joker and is publicly supported for it, that Superman steps down as a hero. Superman won't give up for the loss of loved ones, but he could if he feels he failed the society he was meant to guide.
@@vicentematias763 Absotley. Kingdom Come is by far the best evil Superman story, because he doesn't abandon his values so much as he allows them to be corrupted. He's a man failing to live up to his principles instead of a man who deliberately rejects them.
Ok so that Mr Terrific guns debate was between Flash and Superman in the comics. Flash fans were kinda pisses about how he was treated in this adaptation, considering his role in the game and comics

Alright Boom I shan’t tolerate your Superman slander any longer so here’s my proposition; watch Superman vs. the Elite, it’s an animated movie from the 2000’s it’s like barely an hour long but I think it should at the very least understand why people will defend Superman so much, you don’t even have to watch it on the channel
You guys should really react to the story mode for both games. The story of the movie and the game are similar yet different in many ways from each other. Most people preferred the games storyline.
Damian was raised by Tali and the League of Assassins and didn’t know Bruce until he was 10 (can vary based on the story) which definitely explains him haha i’m sure you guys know this already but certain movies and films are stand alone and some have their own continuity they’re a part of. any outside of a main canon you can call an “Elseworlds”
I never understood why people bash batman for not killing Joker as if it isn't the governments job to give him the death penalty. Batman job is to stop him and capture him, y'all handle him and if you don't wanna then don't complain.
Because IF Batman killed him it would save tens of thousands of people. Batman admitted Joker has filled several graveyards worth of bodies and will only keep killing. It’s totally a failure on Batman. The fact Batman continues to work with him and even protect him at times is insane. He’s crippled Barbara and sexually assaulted her. Killed one of Bruce’s sons with a crowbar. Constantly murders countless people for fun. And Batman will throw himself into a burning building to save him.
@@wr5488 yeah but he would've become less as a stopping symbol and a hero and a vigilante, he doesn't kll because he'll be seen as a vigilante, though yes batman does take his moral belief way to much, like I'm pretty sure for taking out joker no one would care, but if batman starts taking more villains out he'd be the villain. which is also why batman can't just kll, because he says to himself he'd get used to it and desensitized
@@lightningjadejavier The whole 'Batman will go insane' argument is nonsensical. He has far more training than any soldier in existence and the majority of all of them across all of time don't become mass murdering psychos. News flash, Batman _is_ a vigilante. As for your second response, there are real life stories of normal, ordinary people forced to share air with people far less evil yet just as dangerous as the Joker, as he is portrayed in this comic/film, and, yes, these real people often try to rid the world of these monsters. So, yes, I along with wr5488 would, in all likelihood, at least attempt to stop this obviously evil plan. Not to mention that we are ordinary people and, again, Batman is the literal number 1 trained person on the planet. No, Bats should not go on a killing spree; but, yes, Bats should realize that the Justice system has completely failed every single one of Joker's victims of which, even without this movie, range into the millions. Just like to point out that there are scenes where Gordon, a law abiding police officer, draws and aims his gun at the Joker in several perfectly legal situations and Batman stops him from shooting the clown because iT's ThE wRoNg ThInG tO dO! Just wait until you get into the Legion of Superheroes, and their extended universe. I can only think of the Ambush Bug comic where Red Kryptonite causes him to switch minds with Superman, so Supes/Bug starts trying to negotiate a better deal with DC comics (he's a 4th wall-breaking character). The exec he's talking to starts pushing back and Bug's like: "No, I don't know how many there are in the Legion of Superheroes!... No, don't list them!... I..... Matter Eater Lad???"
Plastic Man was created just after the invention of plastic, in the early 40s, when it was this miraculous new substance! Love Ralph (Elongated Man), I’m working on this large JLA with 6 teams of 7. He’s not on those, but he’s on the satellite support staff, still too broken up by the loss of his wife to patrol.
Plastic Man can shape shift, has complete control over his physiology, can control his density, his elasticity, and his strength. He can make his body as flexible as a rubber band or as hard as a rock, he can make himself as large as he wants, and he can add more muscles to his physique thereby making himself exponentially strong. Additionally, Plastic Man boasts invulnerability, the ability to regenerate any body part, and an immunity to telepathy, making him a very formidable adversary. Plastic Man was incapacitated in the JLA story arc "Tower of Babel" when mercenaries froze and shattered his body. Once thawed and reassembled, he was physically unharmed. Batman had said that out of all the superheroes, Plastic Man is the strongest one. He just hide it behind his goofy personality.😊

what I think is the most interesting aspect of this storyline is that Superman begins his rule preaching about ending conflits and stoping bloodshed, but slowly turns into a tyrant dictator, opressing and hunting his oposition and becomes the very source of conflits and bloodshed. He embodies the phrase "You either die a hero or live long enough and become a vilan"
Next movie would recommend is Superman vs The Elite as it shows why Superman and his ideals are important and what makes him still relevant to this day

Newsflash for those people: Having a point doesn't mean you're right; it just means you have a point! You can still be 100% wrong in your conclusions and actions!
Speaking of voice actors, Justin Hartley (guy who voiced Injustice Superman) was also Green Arrow in Smallville, and Michael Rosenbaum (Animated Justice League Flash) played Lex Luthor in Smallville, too.
Damien was raised by his mother and grandfather who control the league of assassins. Batman didn’t even know he had a son till Talia dropped him at his door years later

The only thing imprecise about this is that Superman is portrayed as being invincible, when this is not true, many justice league characters can easily match and even surpass him WW for example, she killed him many times in the comics, Batman itself described her as "a female Superman with no known kryptonite"

my biggest criticism of that movie (but far from the only one) is how they dirty they did flash I get that he is completely OP and an idealist that would stand up to Sup' but they should've found another way to put him out of commission
I think they did the GL Corp dirty, too, tbh. I don't think that the writers of the comic really understand how the rings work and that "just take them off the GL" isn't that easy. Either that, or they had to ignore a lot to make the story work, which is arguable on a lot of fronts for different characters and how they work/react.

The first Reeve movie is great, but the sequels are kind of a mess. And the Henry Cavill ones he spends too much time in the passenger seat not progressing the plot IMO.
Plastic man is actually just immortal. His cells can infinitely regenerate even from the smallest little bit of him. Even batman doesnt have a way to permanently kill him; his contingency plan is to put him in cold storage which can heavily delay the regeneration of his cells and immobilize him.
9:34 It is NOT batmans responsibility to kill someone there are PLENTY of people in that universe who could kill him without breaking like superman dose and guess what Bruce would break even worse than clark would..... I thought yall watch under the red hood Bruce outright says why he dosent kill in that movie
@steffondoyle8071 beacuse bruce is broken If he is aware that there is a death he can prevent and he ignores it's he Rationalize's it as the same as him killing that individual There's not a difference in his eyes However if someone were to try to kill the Joker and bruce was unaware and he finds out the joker was dead afterwards and he had nothing to do with it he it wouldn't effect him
The best example I can think of off the top of my head in "Jokers war" harley has joker tied to bombs and also ties bombs to herself with there only being enough time to save one and And she runs off knowing this Bruce tells joker how to disarm the bomb but the joker refuses stating that Batman has to make that choice Bruce sits in silence for a sec then leaves to go save Harley beacuse he tried every option he could but he still left Joker to die knowing he can't do anything (Now joker survives this but that's due to plot) bruce did think joker died right there originally

So, some important notes: Flash's death. Flash didn't die in the game at all, and he was pretty important to the overall story. However, this movie follows darkside war, where it ends with flash triggering another flashpoint to reset things. They killed him off immediately to raise the stakes and basically take that option off the table here, making everything more final. This is why he dies and no one mentions it afterwards, because its kind of an incongruity between the 'real' story and this adaption (which honestly is pretty damn faithful to the injustice story). Plastic man is a former thief turned hero and is considered one of the most powerful heros in the DC universe. He basically can alter his form into anything. Not just shape, but composition. In other words, he could make himself into kryptonite and kick superman's ass at will. He's indestructible, and the only countermeasure is extreme heat and extreme cold which only freezes/melts him temporarily. Its a delay tactic, nothing more (this is why batman didn't want him fighting amazo, because if he copied plastic man's powers, it was game over. Really, his only legitimate weakness is mental. He's a jokester and suffers from some self esteem issues (which causes the clowning to compensate). If he truely could gain actual confidence, he'd be op. Damien was Talia and Bruce's kid. It happened when Talia drugged Bruce and slept with him. He had no idea of his existence until Talia brought Damien to learn from him. It's important to remember that while Bruce considers the league of shadows to be something to stop, the league considers him an asset/future leader, and in fact has proven to be an ally to him when needed. Damien was brought up to be an assassin and started off in a kill first mentality but has been brought around to his father's way of thinking (through no small help of Jon Kent, superman's son, who basically was his teammate for a while and served as a good influence on him). This growth was kind of the through point to the previous DCAU series honestly. In this though, he's still raw, and yes while he didn't mean to kill Dick, it does cause him to backslide pretty badly. The guy that played chess with Superman is Mr. Terrific and is one of the smartest people in the DCU. Also, 'deadwing' is basically a take on the hero 'deadman' who is basically a ghost. He did appear in the Justice League Dark movie (Batman calls him by his first name which is Boston). Captain Atom vs Superman is basically been a long standing debate. Captain Atom is up there in power, and in fact gets stronger when he fully realizes his power (which allows him to not just control radiation, but atoms themselves, and he essentially becomes Dr. Manhatten). Being thrown into space isn't a big deal for him, and its often a tactic he does himself when he needs to burn off extra radiation harmlessly. The main thing though, where supes has the advantage, is he's able to tear captain atom's suit, which wouldn't kill him, but would take him out of the fight (captain atom himself is just energy, its the suit that lets him have a human form). The simulation comment was basically a nod to the constant debate amongst the fans over who would win.
Why do people always say Batman should kill the Joker? He doesn't want to kill. That's his whole thing. Why can't any of the cops or guards at Arkham shoot him in a 'breakout'? Or better yet, put he to death for his crimes?
Refusing to outright murder him is one thing. But refusing to let him die by anyone else’s hand, or under any circumstance is the biggest problem with Batman’s character.
I wouldn’t blame robin for killing night wing like that. It really shouldn’t have killed him with the injuries the human heroes get, him dying like that was a real punch in the gut.
You know I get that Bruce is 1 step away from being driven to madness if he resort to killing, but I could not for the life of me understand that why he never ask Jason to do it when Jason doesn't seem to be as prone to losing himself
Just so you guys know this whole story is elseworlds, like an alternate universe thing, so it has never been canon to the main universe of the comics. So Superman never went fully dictator and Joker never nuked metropolis in the main timeline.
Honestly never a fan of Injustice. This movie isn't bad, but it just shows how far out of character you have to make Clark to be like this. It's Zack Snyder level writing and Diana acts weirdly cold as well. It was cool to see Catwoman and Huntress as well as Harley and Green Arrow. Damien being here is neat, but his design looks rough compared to other versions. Loved that his big brother forgave him for being incredibly stupid and killing him.
Yeah, of all of the "evil Superman" stories we've got floating around nowadays, Injustice is definitely the weakest. It just removes all the interesting and fun parts of Superman and turns him into Super Dictator. Not to mention all the character assassination for everyone else; Wonder Woman is unrecognisable for example. It's fine as a concept for a fighting game, which is what it started as. But as a fleshed out storyline it really starts to fall flat.
Read the Injustice comics - they do a much better job of depicting Superman's gradual transformation into a tyrannical dictator. And adds a lot more context for the entire conflict.
@@LadyDoomsinger The comic is even worse, everyone that isn't portayed being 100% down with the regime are made into spineless cowards and ok with imprisoning/killing other heroes until Supes kills Billy. Why watch this among all the DC animated films? I mean if anything, especially with y'all lack of DC knowledge would have been great to start from the beginning like the 2000s. But at least y'all watched JL Doom. That was great.
Also to add this other melt batman code helps him from crossing that line. Because he even realizes that the danger of him crossing it. Maybe it's the joker today tomorrow it's penguin. Next it's a kid who Jay walks on accident. Next is a drunk driver who accidentally ramped up into somebody. Next maybe it may be catwoman. Maybe he might say his justice should be a law. And try to go after others who don't agree. It's just like in the red hood movie it would be too easy. Then it would be to normalize for him to do it. Batman symbol for vengeance return to a symbol of murder. People won't remember Batman as the hero. Difficult down that line he will be remembered as the psychopath. Another killer and a sea of killers that live in gotham. Not killing these villains also has the benefit of him trying to help rehabilitate them. Some of them can be helped you have to find the ones who are willing to accept it. Killing everybody out there won't help. All it does is create the circle of violence. Of murder brutality all over. It won't help anybody. It probably would just make things worse.
Should The Joker Die? Absolutely. Does Batman have to do it? No. The Government should have Chaired him long ago.
Problem with that is someone or something eventually revives him or a new one usually takes his place.

That's because it's doing its own thing. Duh
They should turn it into an animated show

And in that way always recovers in no time
This guy is almost impossible to kill unless you destroy him to a molecular level because if there's at least a part of plastic man somewhere, then he will come back.

@@MXALOVEhonestly there’s a lot of things you just gotta let the story get away with, especially with those two characters.
That was a great discussion Superman and Flash had in the book that this skipped over to a degree.

They didn't skip over it the just did that scene with Mr terrific and superman instead of flash since he was dead of which I'm fine with for a few reasons 1.
It’s hard to imagine Gotham letting Joker off the hook so many times and not establishing a death penalty for all the atrocities he committed.

For a brief rundown, plastic man is basically able to not just shapeshift, but manipulate the very molecules that make up his body. He can stretch and grow to any size and mimic any physical or liquid compound, and full shape his level of density. The black guy in the tower was Mr Terrific, a legacy hero who is kinda like a mentally well adjusted and self-made Batman. He usually hangs in the tower because he recognizes as a "normal" human he's most valuable coordinating the rest of the league.

Not only everyone died in metropolis, but sadly Beastboy and kid flash died in the explosion as well.
Riddler was a detective for a while. IDK if he regressed now.
@nahuel3433 All depends on the run. I saw some panels from a catwoman comic where she, Ivy, Croc, Riddler, and some others rehabilitated, and it showed them in their like 40's or 50's, I think. It was very sweet

You imght end up finding joy in things alot more LOL
Also, for DC, PLEASE.
In the comic when Nightwing died even the villains stopped fighting out of respect/fear.
If Nightwing was dropped into a 100 foot deep pit of raw sewage, it still wouldn't have done him dirtier than in Injustice, either the comic or the movie.
Yeah, there are ALOT of different realities in DC. 💜 Some good, some bad, some absolutely devastating.
"Never make a decision when you're mad make a promise when you're happy." That's exactly what been needin to hear. Smart man boom

@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS
That's the instigating event. Not the whole story. You're not supposed to agree with superman *in the rest of it.* You know, the part where he asserts himself as the arbiter of morality, kills a nightclub full of teens because a few of them were cringe, and is directly responsible for multiple of his friends' deaths?
But also superman was absolutely wrong in killing the Joker. Not because the Joker shouldn't be killed (I have more complicated thoughts on that topic) but because he did it out of rage/grief.
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS not even superman agrees with himself on the comics by how things go on his "dream" about his imaginary daughter telling him to not be an asshole
Lol people miss this???
“Never make a decision when you’re mad & never make a promise when you’re happy.”
I officially love it when is just these two reacting.
Yet Superman as a character is most interesting when he breaks like this
@@AgntFL Maybe to certain fans.
@AgntFL How unique and interesting. A guy born with power who uses it to enforce his will on the world. Never seen that before.

In the Injustice comics Damian hits Dick's head that doesn't kill him his neck falling on a rock after does.Dick's neck fell on The rock Snapping his neck kills him. 21:44
wonder woman is a warrior first and a hero by training afterward. by her training threats are killed to protect your home. when wonder woman has as threat to her home its ares, hades, heracules, circe, or worse. these arent opponents you can jail . sometimes you cant even kill them.
also you guys should watch the OG justice league and Justice league unlimited cartoons.
my sin as a comic book fan is i actually really enjoyed the injustice 2 comics, but only because i thought what they did with ted kord, jaime reyes, and booster gold was really interesting.
25:32 Talia Drugged and Bill Cosbyed Batman, that's bow we got Damian.
You guys should really react to the story mode for both games.
The story of the movie and the game are similar yet different in many ways from each other.
Most people preferred the games storyline.
The comics are also pretty amazing and adds a lot of additional context for the conflict.
The thing with the Joker gang is, they don’t stand with the Joker, they just use the Joker’s name because they know it pisses Superman (A dictator) up
YAAAAA I was not expecting this! The woman in the mirror was raven.
Damian was raised by Tali and the League of Assassins and didn’t know Bruce until he was 10 (can vary based on the story) which definitely explains him haha
i’m sure you guys know this already but certain movies and films are stand alone and some have their own continuity they’re a part of. any outside of a main canon you can call an “Elseworlds”
You guys should watch young justice its a really good show and you guys would definitely like it
Plastic Man isn't just plastic. He can kind of do and be anything with his body. He's also effectively immortal, so yea. He can do some damage.
@@wr5488 like you're out here dissing him for having morals but let's be honest here you probably won't know what to do

@@lightningjadejavier The whole 'Batman will go insane' argument is nonsensical. He has far more training than any soldier in existence and the majority of all of them across all of time don't become mass murdering psychos. News flash, Batman _is_ a vigilante. He takes the law into his own hands, the literal definition of a vigilante. You even acknowledge him as one in the same sentence.
Batman is probably my favorite DC hero, but he is also the biggest joke of all of them. Even original Batman would kill the likes of Joker.

21:40 in the comics Nightwing got hit in the head by Damien, but he also fell on a rock that snapped his neck
Oh, if you guys think that Plastic Man is a dumb name, you clearly aren't ready for my goat, Elongated Man
Not talking about Absorbing Man that in italian is translated in "Uomo Assorbente" that could even mean "Pad/Tampon Man"
Even if you look at some of the villains, their names are a bit dumber.
Like Captain Boomerang
Zebra Man
And of course
The weirdest of all
Egghead
Or Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
Or Doctor Light.
The exec he's talking to starts pushing back and Bug's like:
"No, I don't know how many there are in the Legion of Superheroes!...
Fun Fact:
-Batman in this was voiced by Anson Mount who plays Captain Christopher Pike in ‘Star Trek’ Strange New Worlds’.
-Batman in *’Under The Red Hood’* was voiced by Bruce Greenwood who plays Captain Christopher Pike in ‘Star Trek (2009)’ and ‘Star Trek: Into Darkness’.
what I think is the most interesting aspect of this storyline is that Superman begins his rule preaching about ending conflits and stoping bloodshed, but slowly turns into a tyrant dictator, opressing and hunting his oposition and becomes the very source of conflits and bloodshed. He embodies the phrase "You either die a hero or live long enough and become a vilan"
Next movie would recommend is Superman vs The Elite as it shows why Superman and his ideals are important and what makes him still relevant to this day
Superman Vs The Elite is possibly the most underrated DC movie. It's fantastic.
I keep wondering where was Green Lantern during all this after the cornfield!
31:36 That's a pretty good summary of all those "[Villain X] was RIGHT!" videos, where some mental rutabaga tries to claim that a psychotic mass-murderer is "right" because they have a point about something.
Newsflash for those people: Having a point doesn't mean you're right; it just means you have a point! You can still be 100% wrong in your conclusions and actions!
Damin Batman's son was raised for most of his life by The League of Assassins or League of Shadows. Basically Ras Al Ghoul's Ninja organization.
I think you guys would love Flashpoint: Paradox! It's one of their best works and I genuinely believe it still stands up to this day.
Speaking of voice actors, Justin Hartley (guy who voiced Injustice Superman) was also Green Arrow in Smallville, and Michael Rosenbaum (Animated Justice League Flash) played Lex Luthor in Smallville, too.
25:17, if I’m not mistaken. Batman was drugged(not himself) when that happened.
Damien was raised by his mother and grandfather who control the league of assassins. Batman didn’t even know he had a son till Talia dropped him at his door years later
He's the son of the Batman, the grandson and at one point heir apparent of Ra's Al Ghul, and buys into his own hype on that. He's a good kid and he wants to do good! But his head is ever so slightly up his own ass because of his initial assassin upbringing.
The only thing imprecise about this is that Superman is portrayed as being invincible, when this is not true, many justice league characters can easily match and even surpass him
WW for example, she killed him many times in the comics, Batman itself described her as "a female Superman with no known kryptonite"
Nobody in the justice league can handle Superman without kryptonite stop spouting nonsense
@@liladonn5646 you have never picked up a comic book and it shows there are very few justice league characters who can go toe to toe with superman and wonder women is included she’s killed/defeated him many times
@@liladonn5646 If you actually believe that So you've never picked up a comic in your entire life
WW strength equals and, in some cases, surpasses Superman's, she has already fought on equal terms with him in the comics in battles that destroyed entire planets, She slit his throat using her tiara and ripped his spine out with her bare hands, not only that but her weapons are magical itens, and magic is very efetive against Superman; her sword can cut through atoms, so It would cut through his skin like nothing
Batman also said that, although he had contingency plans for all members of the league, Wonder Woman's was by far the most complicated one
Besides, Superman isn't weak just to Kryptonite, He is also vulnerable to magic and telepathy (basically, both things affect him the same way they would a normal human, meaning that telepathic attacks and spells can weaken and even kill him with considerable ease)
Not only she can defeat him, but also Shazam (his lightning is a magical attack), Black Adam (same thing), Doomsday (he can adapt to anything that killed him, and Superman killed him A LOT, so he's the perfect weapon to kill him), Firestorm (he can manipulate matter at atomic level, If he wanted to he could just create a mountain of Kryptonite and kill Superman with it), Captain Atom (he can stop time and manipulate matter just like Firestorm, plus he is as Strong, fast and durable as Superman), Starfire (Non-solar radiation is very effective against Superman, as it reaches the cellular level, and she can generate radioactive explosions many times stronger than a nuke) Raven (she's considered the most powerful magic user in DC comics, sometimes even more than Constantine; her spells are so strong she can kill human beings with a thought, and as I said before, Kryptonians are as vulnerable to magic as humans beings) and many more characters
Superman is strong, there's no doubt about that, but Injustice portrays him as being the strongest being in the entire world, which is just NOT TRUE

PLASTIC MAN IS OP
He is both liquid and solid at fhe same time, can Shapesift, disguise, can regenerate, IS STRETCHY, AND CAN TAKE ANY KIND OF DAMAGE as in punching like it's not that big of a deal. Aka, Superman's punches
Also from what i get, he can't die, he is immortal
Even his Flashpoint version is brutal
my biggest criticism of that movie (but far from the only one) is how they dirty they did flash
I get that he is completely OP and an idealist that would stand up to Sup' but they should've found another way to put him out of commission
Plastic Man is one of my favorite DC characters and needs to be used more.
"is that supermans dad? He looks like him, but older" are you forgetting that superman is adopted 😂
Plastic man is absolutely terrifying in universes where hes not so nice
In the games, Wonder Woman was the true villain. She took advantage of Superman being in a bad situation and molded him into a tyrant.
the games are sexist af tbh, she doesn't have a reason she just does it
@@wendellaraujo7203 How is her doing that sexist? She does it because that is the way she thinks in this universe. Are women not allowed to be villains or fallen heroes anymore.
Plastic-man is kinda OP, he has full control over every cell in his body
I really hope you guys watch Superman vs the Elite or the show My Adventures with Superman. They're some of the few adaptations that give Clark depth without turning him into a villain. The first Reeve movie is great, but the sequels are kind of a mess. And the Henry Cavill ones he spends too much time in the passenger seat not progressing the plot IMO.
I am fully on board with them watching Superman vs the Elite.
Damian was raised in an assassin cult. He's as sane as he possibly could be
In Batman defense he cant kill the Joker since he's insane and when he did he got sent to jail
A small sacrifice to pay for the latter.
Plastic man is actually just immortal. His cells can infinitely regenerate even from the smallest little bit of him. Even batman doesnt have a way to permanently kill him; his contingency plan is to put him in cold storage which can heavily delay the regeneration of his cells and immobilize him.
9:34
It is NOT batmans responsibility to kill someone there are PLENTY of people in that universe who could kill him without breaking like superman dose and guess what Bruce would break even worse than clark would.....
I thought yall watch under the red hood Bruce outright says why he dosent kill in that movie
Then why does Batman feel the need to protect Joker from people who can kill him without breaking?!
@steffondoyle8071 beacuse bruce is broken If he is aware that there is a death he can prevent and he ignores it's he Rationalize's it as the same as him killing that individual There's not a difference in his eyes
However if someone were to try to kill the Joker and bruce was unaware and he finds out the joker was dead afterwards and he had nothing to do with it he it wouldn't effect him
The best example I can think of off the top of my head in "Jokers war" harley has joker tied to bombs and also ties bombs to herself with there only being enough time to save one and And she runs off knowing this
Bruce tells joker how to disarm the bomb but the joker refuses stating that Batman has to make that choice Bruce sits in silence for a sec then leaves to go save Harley beacuse he tried every option he could but he still left Joker to die knowing he can't do anything
(Now joker survives this but that's due to plot) bruce did think joker died right there originally

Joker kills millions of people
Batman: Put him in the same prison he escaped from thousands of times

Blame the government for not giving the death sentence.
An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind. Killing Joker would not be heroic. It proves him right if anything.

"No that's a punchline."
During the Superman mirror match, they referenced the Injustice games by showings his Super Moves from both.
That’s Mr. Terrific.
One of the world’s three smartest men.
In the original comic, it was actually Flash who argued with Superman.
Glad that they spared Barry and Hal having their characters assassinated in this adaptation. They also made Dick not useless and help redeem Damien in the end.
Might depend on the continuity but from what i understand Ras didn't make amazo he just found him.
Lex luthor had Amazo made.
Why watch this among all the DC animated films? I mean if anything, especially with y'all lack of DC knowledge would have been great to start from the beginning like the 2000s. But at least y'all watched JL Doom. That was great.
Hell was this in a poll vote?
The important thing to remember about DC heroes is that no one's secret identity is truly secret.
Would’ve had a better time just watching the cutscenes from the game stitched together
Or just watching the Comicstorian video
