That foam tape seems to also help raise the diffuser panel away from the leds to provide the right distance needed for proper diffusion. (As well as block light leakage). Thanks for another good tip!
Thanks dudes! I finally tore open my smoked obs chevy tails to start testing designs using the diffuser strips and red led strips i got from you. Prelim testing went excellent!
Awesome work, thanks for your videos :) I think I feel confident enough to do one myself now. Your videos are really clear, and very informative :) Thanks alot for everything :)
do you know the electronic device that allows the rear low beam to go off, when the brake light is on .. because the low beam of my car is blue so it's not good if two lights are on at the same time.
any item that's 2-part (epoxies, etc) releases heat upon curing (aka warp certain plastics), and is also somewhat of a pain to remove if you need to undo it for whatever reason. Hence why we don't use it. But in some situations, its definitely better.
This link is some diffusing material that would work well in tail lights, but unfortunately it is expensive. www.eplastics.com/lighting-diffusers/led You might be able to look up LED diffuser channels on amazon and take the diffuser portion out of it and use it for the taillight if you can find a channel that is wide enough to cover the portion of the taillight that is needed.
What temp do run your soldering iron, do you ever change temps between soldering certain projects? (Like tinning a wire vs soldering delicate smd projects etc?)
I prefer Ghozt and Blueghozt a lot more than the zLed stuff. Always had issues with zled boards and sort lives. Otherwise not a bad build for a beginner out there willing to attempt their own build. Made it easy for them to understand. Few things I would do differently, but solid build nonethless.
Bro nice tutorial honestly if you get to make the 10th gen civic coupe tail light better you will be a hero because honestly I think it’s one of the taillights with the most potential.
These guys make cool stuff. They just suck at responding to people's comments and questions. It annoying when youtubers/sellers/service providers do that shit. People will just go somewhere else.
The solder joints on the LEDs came loose while you were trying to solder the other wire to it. What keeps the wires from coming off of the LED strips while the car is jostling on the road?
@@illumaesthetic bullshit i am an auto sparky an alternator in a car runs a max of 14v 14.3 to be exact. So peddle ya bullshit somewhere else buddy. Also why not run a pcb board instead of using led strips you can buy on ebay for $9 and a sequencer for $11
@@Thewolverine691 Take it you never considered overvoltage hence the reason for higher led strip voltage to prevent premature failure. SMH Majority of the people who add these lights have a project car that's likely not stable with voltage anyways so that's another thing to consider SMFH.

I apologize if you specify in the tutorial, but I would like to know what the controller you used was to sequence?
Very good job friend where you can buy the. Sequential module
37:17 That EF is sick. Sick video too
I Wish you guys had a kit for older c10 trucks!
Nice!!! Cool to get a BTS look on the whole diy lights thing

May I ask what material you use as a diffuser? Thanks 😊
What material do you use for the diffused panels?
I have to make some lights for my studebaker truck wanted to know about the light diffusers. And controller for the brake turn and tail lamps .thanks

Where can i buy this for the civic ef?
I'm not trying to being smart but... Instead of that glue maybe using fast glue with activator would work better ans cleaner?

Not always the case with styrene panels
Epoxy would have eaten the foam
Put supler glue on connections then it wouldn't work
@@illumaestheticbetter use dichloroethane with plastic dust
Only watched 3 videos this far but I love your measuring techniques.
Is it possible to order custom panels? I would love to get into this but no one knows my SUV model exists 😂
What are the diffuser panels made of?
Where can I purchase the diffusing material and what is it called?

need a vice grip to hold that housing

You can do it at 380c with a solder iron

I must have diffused taillights for ej1 (92-95 civic coupe)
Where did you get diffuser panel stuff ?
what is that pulsing high pitch tone? its driving me crazy.
your battery rest at 12.6... not 11.6....
Great job bro
Bro how to use sequencial board name...
i am not using any board bah a am intresting this video....

Tail lights ??? ------ Or marker lights
good info cool video but damn dude is clumsy as..... how many times can you knock one housing over
looks awesome
Is that shoe glue that you are using or a glue named Shugu?
Shoegoo
Looks sick

How do you make the actual diffuser?
It's just a translucent piece of plastic
This man made a 10 minute tutorial 40 minutes long. Jeez
Love this
Uh and umm 😭 love the video very helpful
nice. interesting
custom one for me...
Damn 😍 simplest mad makes older cars sick lol. P

Maybe I should just continue watching and find out? Lol
Ahh! Shoe Goo.
that EF corner lights ar rare as f** . cant find them for a normal price
Reverb in that room is terrible, you should think about filling up those walls
He
If dude says shoe goo more time I’m gonna go crazy
This bloody guy doesn't answer any questions
Count your “aaah”s.
You clumsy af😂😂
What a tedious video to watch! Maybe consider time-lapsing segments of the video to ease viewing? Just a suggestion.
14v led strip hahaha yeah good one buddy all 12v led strips will sustain 14v so that is false.
This is incorrect. You can run 12V strips at 14V, but you will overheat and overcurrent them - reducing their lifespan.
