Glen, I agree, definitely some sort of Tamiya Legends paint scheme on the orange Durga and fit the black wheels... it'd look great on your shelf in the studio...
Bought the DB 01 Baldre because of you videos on DB 01. I absolutely love it. Had some problems with overheating at the start but now it seems that I resolved the issues by adding a cooler and a fan. Otherwise great work keep it up.
Definitely a sharp looking buggy 👌 I like the ventilation holes In your adopted Durga, at 1st I thought they were painted on until you pointed out that they were actually holes in the body. Looking forward to seeing the running video mate! 👍🦘🇦🇺
Exciting film again thanks Glenn, really liking this Durga. With regards to the orange one, deffo black rims and tyres, plus graphics.will looks fantastic. Cheers Glenn.😊👍🏻
I know your not a racer, I appreciate that, but please one day buy a decent savox 1251/1252 servo and run your cars around the cones like you do but with the savox installed, you won't regret it, will transform the car. Your cars are too nice not to have a decent servo. Keep the awesome videos coming.
Great video again, thanks! Looks amazing. Can't wait to see the running vid. When i first ran my durga i had the slipper too loose, ended up glazing the pads. If so, just flip them over all good. But nice and tight is good. I ended up running the stiffer 511 slipper spring with a 4.5t motor to acheive insanity speed!
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it especially as I'm doing a Durga build myself. Had Tamiya's way back in the day (haha let's not discuss age) and after recently restoring a vintage car (my brothers) I decided to try a newer Tamiya. After researching I came to the conclusion the Durga was up there and you've pretty much confirmed that so thanks. It's almost built but not run yet however the project that I'm really getting my teeth into is the whole design and character of the car. Tamiya's were always packed full of identity from the box art to the designs, graphics, logos and details. The Durga lacks all of that so I'm attempting to give it the works, reckon you should to with your orange car!
Nice vid and you defo got my interest for the next vid Glenn! Iol l still think the Top Force is the best handling buggy in performance out there!! apart from the Evo maybe? lol l can't move on!!!! I can't accept this modern stuff or more modern stuff in the case of the Durga....even know deep down lol l know the modern buggies are bloody brilliant! We forget sometimes that the classic buggies most of us have in our collections are old antiques compared to the modern stuff! That would be interesting Glenn to do a vid on one of the best buggies from the past Vs the best from now!!! Past would win hands down....see my problem! l am in denial mate!
Lol I hear you my friend 😂👊🏻 Well I’ve now made two running videos with the Durga and honestly it’s superb. I’m hoping to put it up against my Egress in a future video which could be cool 😎
Lately I upgraded some 30-40 year old Vintage Toy RC cars to modern electronics. I had to install a fan directly above an old 380 brushed motor (which had no airflow at all) and after that it did not spin. When I pulled the fan out, it worked fine !? I found out, that you must experiment with the alignment of the fan => just rotate the fan (the cables make a 90 degree turn if you change one mounting hole to another, if you know what I mean...) and then it will work just fine on another position. I guess that has to do with the strong magnetic field of the motor, which is influencing the magnetic field of the much smaller fan motor.
Looks great Glen!!!. Very modern for my age😂. But really impressive. I’ve said it before but the paint work is exceptional.. please don’t scratch it for gods sake!!!!
I highly recommend trying to use decent servos where you can Glenn. If you think about it it’s one of the most important parts of the car as it is basically “ the driver” Once I went to brushless servos I never wanted to go back. So smooth and dead quiet they are a pleasure to use. And the car just corrects much neater and does not wander due to the perfect and consistent centering of the digital Servo.
Hello. i would say, put the black rims on the orange car and drive this car. The black wheels looks cool with the orange paint. The TRF durga is to cool to make scratches on it by driving. Greetings
that orange and black one looks sick, just put some black wheels on it to match, the other one looks ok but that paint job style dose feature alot on RTR bodies
But you are right I love the power delivery on my db01. Found one brand new from a seller, that im probably going to pick up new financial year (australian financial year ends june 30), but I really want to find the hex screw kit for the db01 wil make putting it together less hassle
Love the Saturday morning show Glenn! Have you contacted mci about making custom Tamiya legends racing decals with little Glenn Barclay diver decals yet??? I need a set! You definitely inspire a lot of us with your channel! I am making the jump! I ordered a rc10b74 kit on Thursday from BC. You got me back in the hobby in January with the top force. Now I'm making a Manta ray into a Terra concuror, It's almost done!!! Now a b74. If you ever want to try it, I should have her ready in a month! My in-laws are in Woodstock, I can pop over to escape??? There is also a real track not that far from you... 😉 Thanks again and happy rcing!
Awesome, I am normally sooooo bored when I go up there! I will post picks on the Facebook group as soon as they are ready (is a b74 pic allowed?). I'll call mci if I don't see some of those decals in a upcoming video!!! It takes less than a week to get mci and tbg in Ontario, we are lucky😁
I just got a Durga DB01 kit delivered and trying to figure out which motor and esc would be good. Saw the EzRun 3660SL Max10 combo, any idea if that would fit and run well in the DB01 chassis?
I know you may have a couple videos on Lipos that fit Tamiya vehicles. I’m wondering at this point in time do you have a single battery that fits every vehicle? If so I would like to know what it is so I can purchase it ASAP
I can only recommend to not use the cheapest servos for your car. 15 EUR for a servo worked best in my cars. Out of curiosity I directly compared a 15 EUR MG REELY servo with a 70 EUR MG REELY Servo in my Egress out on the street (swapped em out there). I did not feel any improvement while running the 2 servos against each other...But I felt a BIG difference between a 5 EUR Servo and a 15 EUR MG Servo !!!
It is a shame that Tamiya backed away from the off-road racing scene. The cars were a bit different to everything else on the market, and Lee Martin got some great results with them.
@@TAMIYALegends It did go pretty hard, but for some strange reason my DF-02 seemed to go quicker. I think that comes down to the pinion in it honestly.

Awesome build and great video
Thanks for watching buddy 😊👊🏻
The db-01 is some of the best tamiya has made IMO. A couple of upgrades and its awesome for any type of driving=)

Wow how great is that you could have one basher and one as a shelf queen. Pretty sweet dude.
Thanks for watching Alex 😊. Yeah I’m just re-doing the shell on the orange car 😎👊🏻
@@TAMIYALegends awesome can't wait to see what it looks like. Take care and keep safe hope to see the video of the facelift the orange body gets.👍😃

Keep up the good work sir! Build the orange one to race. Push it to the limits of the chassis within common sense.

mg996 servos in all my cars.metal gears .cheap.no issues in 5 years.
With the Orange one, strip it down, paint it white, put on the Durga stock stickers and the black wheels.

Sorry to bug you mate will the durga body fit tto2b with cutting
26:25 => Bend the pointy ends of the clips upwards a bit with 2 sets of pliers. Like that you don´t scratch the body over time ;_)

Tamiya Legends racing livery for the new old Durga (white base with red and blue details)?

I would like to see you make a totally waterproof car.
I plan on putting a ic5 on the speedo.
They both should be speed run cars one for brushless and one with the fastest brushed motors you can find.
When will Tamiya release a DB-03???
Don’t know but I’m really hoping they do it 🤩👊🏻
You got to tighten the nuter. Lol
It seems to almost work like a full posi rear end.
Don't do anything to the orange Durga but send it off a big ramp for some cool jumps 😎
Yeah that sounds like a plan 😎👊🏻

Glen can you run the tble02 ESC on a lipo if so why do they say don't run it on a lipo?
Yeah it runs great on Lipo, it just doesn’t have the Lipo cut off because it’s designed for the Tamiya Life battery which is a lower voltage 👊🏻
Turn the donor Durga into the Grasshopper III ;-)

Why does he kept saying 'DBR1'??? Isn't it 'DB01-R'. Or maybe just the accent.
