The 1989 Batmobile from the Batman movie is a sleek and iconic vehicle that perfectly captures the essence of the Dark Knight's crime-fighting persona. The car's design, created by Anton Furst and Julian Caldow, features a low-slung, aerodynamic body, imposing fins and a jet engine in the back. The vehicle is equipped with an arsenal of weapons and gadgets, including machine guns, grappling hooks, and bombs. The Batmobile's jet-powered afterburner enables it to reach incredible speeds, making it the ultimate car for Gotham City's protector. The second best Batmobile.
Nothing will never hold up to the original.
For me it's the '89 Batmobile number one and the original '66 Batmobile is number two. I was born in 85 though, so this is my 'original'. I wouldn't say no to either of them! 🏎️
The original being the 1966 Batmobile of course.
The best looking Batmobile of all time!
its funny how batman never uses guns unless they are mounted on his car
True, lol.
Okay, you’ve done 3 Batmobiles, but you’ve GOT to do the 1966 Batmobile!! 👏😎❤️🙏
The original 60s show is just hard to even look at for me with all the grown men stuffed into and running around in kids Halloween costumes, but the car is pretty cool looking, so I might do it anyways at some point. Thanks.
IM LOVING THIS CHANNEL!!!!!
Glad to hear it!
Casey Putsch built a replica using a Corvette chassis, and his uses a Boeing turboshaft engine that was in a U.S. Military helicopter at one point. It burned about 16 gallons an hour while cruising, and had a GM automatic transmission that had been modified to be manual shift only. The shifter is a B&M Stealth Pro Ratcheting Shifter, and it's a 4-speed. He sold the car at Barrett Jackson, but I don't know how much it sold for.
Yeah, I remember seeing that some time ago.
Still my favorite Batmobile 30 plus years later!!!
I'm right there with you on that one friend! 😁👍
Where does he get those wonderful toys?
Hi, this channel just popped up in my feed. Right up my street, revs my motor (excuse the pun), subbed and binging when i can. Regards J
Welcome and glad to hear you are enjoying the videos 😀
Any plans to do a video about the original 1960’s Bat-mobile.
Thanks.
Possibly, that car does look quite cool; it's just I have a real hard time watching those old shows with grown men running around in kids Halloween quality customs, lol. I might be able to look past that in sake of the cool car though; we'll see. Thanks
Thanks for the reply!😁
I’ll look out if you do the video.👌
Still haven't figured out if this is my favorite batmobile, what are the one from the 60s is....I think this one is.
It is cool for sure 😉👍
This is an impressive Batmobile, second only to the 1966 Batmobile in my opinion. Thanks for the video!
Indeed and glad you enjoyed it 😉👍
Michael Keaton. There is no Batman substitute
😉👍

Indeed and glad to hear you are enjoying the channel😉👍
Love the video totally worth it and can't wait for more videos to come out.
Glad to hear you're enjoying the channel, makes it all worth while 😉👍
i had always read that the chassis and drivetrain was a modified full size chevy but the engine in the constuction photo looks like an oldsmobile when studying the valve cover.
it was actually created by using the chassis’s of 2 60’s model Lowrider Impalas and fyi, the body was actually bulletproof, because it was made from Fiberglass and Kevlar
At the end the one in the musem is gloss paint but the original is mat finish the gloss paint its from return ???
I believe the car was repainted after being in the first movie.
@@CarStarz42 good point !!!
I don't like those cars in gloss black, the satin (actually color shifting) paint looked so much cooler. But I guess was hard to keep from getting scratched.
I actually saw that car at the Petersen a few months ago, I wasn't sure if it was the original or not at the time.
My understanding is the Dunham car was an 89 that was revamped for the next movie, the Peterson one as well.
What about the one owned by Jeff Dunham isen't that one an original one?
Possibly from Batman Returns as I think they made a few of them for that movie, but haven't looked into that, so not sure.
Can you do a video about the bat mobile from the 60's tv series.
Well, I find the original 60's Batman series VERY difficult to even look at with all the grown men squeezed into and running around in kid's Halloween costumes, but the car is cool though and people keep asking about it; so I may grin and bear it and do it sometime anyways if I can stand it that is. So we'll see 😉
I really enjoy your videos about all the cool movie cars. Got to be honest, I'm not a fan of the comic based movies, don't like batman and I dislike that ugly car. Just my personal opinion, of course.😐
Thanks, well; to each to their own when it comes to car styling I suppose 😉
What about the one WB studios have with them is that one of the cars from the movie?
There were more made with different chassis for Batman Returns, so probably one of those 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 can you tell where all the 89 and 92 movie's batmobiles now?? I only know about the one in Petersen museum and one that of Jeff's where are the others
@@athuldev7670 I have not looked into that, just the one from the first movie. I might do a Batman Returns video sometime and dig into that more at some point.
Best looking Batmobile imo. It looks like if Thrust 2 shops at to Hot Topic and listens to Avenged Sevenfold.
😉👍
I thought it was built on a 73 to 87 Chevy one ton dually
Not for this one, but I think they made a few more of these cars for the second film with different chassis, so maybe those do; but I haven't looked into that.
it was created by using 2 60’s model Chevrolet Impala Lowriders
Why do you think the batmobile has a vertical frame in the middle of the windshield? That would hinder his view.
Lol, true; they did that to mimic the styling of a Harrier Jump Jet though, that's were they got the slide forward "door" idea as well 😉...

Generally where there's a strip of metal between 2 panes of glass would indicate it's a joint.
My Land Rover Series 3 has a similar strip of metal down the middle (LR part No 336422) of It's 2 part windscreen, sorry, shield😉
It's just over an inch wide. Having driven Series Landies since 99, you quickly get used to it.
A bigger distraction is the crap people have hanging from their rear view mirror...
