    Good video! It’s a good and fair comparison. I have an HT 89 and have a Jazzinc 89 on order and this makes me comfortable having both. One’s a replica (Jazz) and the other is a representation (HT). Which you want depends on your comfort level with the accuracy vs price analysis. It’s the same calculus we always make when buying 1:6 scale pieces.

    As an owner of the original release HT Batmobile I can say the reissue was a letdown for many reasons. No armor and no updates was a big disappointment. Never completely loved the OG one, but so glad I have the Jazzinc on order, it looks amazing. Thanks for the vid.

    The flat paint on HT vs real car paint on Jazzinc is astonishing what Jazz has done. My eyes are immediately drawn to Jazz.

    • @ChuckM0503
      @ChuckM0503 4 місяці тому +1

      My only real issue with the Jazzinc car is the paint, actually. I feel like it's too glossy for it to be the 89 car. It looks closer to Batman Returns imo. Maybe it looks different in person, but just going off the couple videos, that's what struck me. Other than that, the Jazzinc has the HT beat by just about every measure. Either way, though, no matter what car someone has, when someone walks into a room and sees either car in their collection, it's going to be an eye catcher.

    • @SA-247
      @SA-247 4 місяці тому

      @ChuckM0503 Well, we know with all the additional accessories that the 89 batmobile is not just based on the 89 film. It does look more like the paint in the 92 film and to me the car looks better in that film. I agree that either one is a flex, but if I had to choose one, it would be Jazzinc all day.

    • @ChuckM0503
      @ChuckM0503 4 місяці тому

      @@SA-247 True with it being a bit of a mish-mash of both films. I've always preferred the more matte paint of the 89 Batmobile myself which is why the paint on the Jazz version has me leaning towards HT. Obviously, wish the HT was more accurate in scale and had a bit more effort put into it, but I can look past those with the paint looking closer to 89. I am jealous of that remote for the car that Jazz did, though. Such a great idea to control all the functions. Jazzinc are also doing their own 1/6 scale figure, right? Wonder how that will turn out. Considering how HT's 2.0 Keaton was a bit of a letdown, it would be great if Jazz put out something better.

    • @SA-247
      @SA-247 4 місяці тому +1

      @ChuckM0503 Yeah but also have to look at the lighting in video. If it's not to well lit up it won't look as glossy.

    • @dachtarht1478
      @dachtarht1478 4 місяці тому +1

      @@ChuckM0503 Interesting take. Since cars are primarily built with steel and aluminum (with bumpers and other small parts made from plastic), the raw black plastic (ABS) of the HT reflects light very differently compared to metal, as seen in real cars. As a result, the HT looks more like a large plastic toy to me. In contrast, Jazzinc’s metallic finish more closely resembles a real car in miniature form.

    This is a wonderful comparison. I have the hot toys and I got it at a really fair price. Considering the price difference between these 2 I think these are incredible offerings for collectors of all kinds. For over half the cost of the Jazzinc the hot toys one offers something more obtainable to fans on a budget. The Jazzinc one is clearly the winner in all regards but also has that pricetag for it that some just can't get. For anyone putting the hot toys one down you just gotta remember what we're comparing here. There almost two completely different realms of collectible. That being said I had to settle for the hot toys because I missed out on the Jazzinc. If I am lucky enough to get a chance on the waitlist I am IMMEDIATELY buying it. By far the most beautiful model I have ever seen.

    Hot Toys = Inaccurate but cheaper than Jazzinc
    Jazzinc = Accurate compared to Hot Toys (NOT 100%) but Expensive
    How much accurate you want?! The toy bat-mobile doesn't move like real Bat-mobile actual in the movie.
    Just like it as much as you are satisfied with. Even if it is movie accurate, I don't think it will ever satisfy you because it is not 1/1 scale. If you think that this is enough to make you happy, then just be satisfied with it. As long as you are happy, that is enough. Other people's opinions don't matter. an excellent comparison video. All your points are valid and letting both items speak for themselves. I was going to do a comparison video as well but what's the point? lol, you did a good job at it already. I have the Hot Toys version and it does a good enough job that I almost did not order Jazzinc's version.
    I also think you made the right choice in holding off some of your pre-orders, those pre-orders are probably items you can get at a later price and more mass produced. While the Jazzinc 1989 Batmobile pre-orders are closed, all copies are made to order and will no longer be easy to get at retail price.

    For my part I bought the HT simply because I really didn’t have the understanding of how different the 2 were and not knowing the Jazz was so ‘perfect’. So it’s a regret about the purchase, though I love my HT as much I’d have loved having the Jazz.
    With this said next time I’ll really gauge a little more about buying a Jazzinc whenever they do another model that interests me. Wish for instance they’d do a tie fighter from ANH, that’d be a crown in collection.

    Great comparison video. You showed all the flaws and highlights of each, so I really appreciate that. I have lots of 1/6th figures and can easily afford both as well, but personally I went with the Hot Toys version. The reason is because I don't believe the Jazz Inc version is worth the price, especially considering the paint and mold flaws on the sides. They could have easily used filler and sanding methods to remove them, but they left them as is. Joost even said he knew about this a long time ago but didn't say anything about it. I do believe the Jazz Inc is better overall, but not enough better to justify the double price tag. Thanks again for your honest opinions and side-by-side comparison.

    The Jazzinc costs more than twice the hot toys when considering shipping and rewards points. Is it twice as good? Yeah, probably. Is it worth twice as much money to me? No, not really. It's awesome though, but I'd have to be a much bigger '89 fanatic to feel like the Hot Toys is 'too not as good.' And Batman '89 has always been my favorite live action Batmobile. I'm just a bigger fan of the comics than any of the movies. The Hot Toys scratches my '89 itch and saves me enough leftover for 3 more 1/6 figures besides (or InArt Aragorn and one Hot Toys figure 😅). So it seems like there's options for everyone.

    The way I interpret this entire saga is that everybody is up in arms about the price of Jazzinc vs Hot Toys '89 Batmobile. The fact is, Jazzinc 1/6 vehicle's have been $1500 for a long time now. I didn't hear anybody complaining about the '66 Batmobile at $1500, probably due to there being no comparison with Hot Toys never making the '66. So you have to ask yourself, am I willing to folk out over double the price for a movie accurate vehicle? Are all the added functions & accuracies worth the money?? That question is up to each individual, but let's not pretend we didn't know that Jazzinc vehicles cost $1500. Every collector will have a different opinion on whether the cost is worth it, but let's not criticise fans for choosing one over the other. Lets just appreciate that we have a choice. Now, I want Bob the Goon & Vicki Vale ASAP.

    The Jazz inc looks great and is far more accurate, tho the paint seems more 1992 than 89 to me personally, Also feel with the cockpit lights the gauges should not be lit up, I don't remember them looking that way in either film, small nitpick but had to mention it. I ultimately went with the Hot Toys due to cost and the fact that while I saw the 1989 film in the theater the opening day it's not my favorite film interpretation of Batman. I do have the Jazz Inc 2022 Batmobile as well as the BVS and love both of them!

      True, this is what collectors need to ask themselves. In the end, it doesn't matter what other collectors think of your own collection. As long as you're happy with what you have, it's all good.

  • @MrRawnch
    @MrRawnch 3 місяці тому

    Great review and I appreciate your take. However, there are a few contradictions that should be cleared up. There is a point of diminishing returns and the different audiences that these products are intended for. You mentioned "go for HT if your on a budget", let's be realistic, $750 - $850 is beyond what most collectors can afford. There's a good reason why there's a cult following with the McFarlane Bat-mobile with the 1/12 collectors, and it even it's unrealistic with it's $100+ price tag. The Jazzinc is for ultra focused Batman collectors that are, as you mentioned, Batman centric and are willing to sacrifice other purchases to own this piece. It's like comparing a Dodge Viper to a Lamborgini Aventador. Both are hard to attain for most buyers despite their differences. The HT was THE GRAIL piece when it was made, and any revisions at this point would've cost them more money. If technology has taught us anything, there will be a better version at some point at some point in the near future (another ten years?). I know this video isn't meant to be divisive but comparing these two is apples and oranges. There is a $1K buffer between the two but that doesn't mean that the HT version is cheap or necessarily attainable at it's $750 - $800 price tag. We all know that these are practically sold out and will command high prices on the secondary market in 2025 and beyond. Let's stop flinging crap (intended or not) and see it more of a tier than a comparison.

    Love the proportions of the jazz inc better, but the paint job is too glossy inaccurate. The movie cars technically are way more flat or matte black finish like the hot toys version. Oddly enough I think hot togs wins in the paint app department😂 but yes I will give it to jazz inc for being a bit more realistic.

      On-set lighting and post-production lighting correction will tone down the Batmobile's normal glossy finish.
