Department 56 Snow Village Christmas Vacation Cousin Eddie's RV: amzn.to/3NBtx1F
The 1973 "Condor II," Cousin Eddie's RV in the 1989 film "Christmas Vacation," is a quintessential symbol of eccentricity and holiday chaos. This weathered and outdated motorhome, driven by the lovably oblivious Cousin Eddie, played by Randy Quaid, becomes an iconic element of the Griswold family's Christmas misadventures. Complete with mismatched exterior panels. The "Condor II" perfectly encapsulates Cousin Eddie's unconventional and carefree lifestyle. As the RV becomes a makeshift residence for Cousin Eddie and his family, it inadvertently contributes to the film's humor and charm, adding a touch of absurdity to the Griswold family's attempts at a perfect Christmas celebration. The "Condor II" is not just a vehicle but a visual representation of Cousin Eddie's endearing, albeit unconventional, presence in the Griswold family's holiday escapades.

Now don't you go falling in love with it Clark. It's going with us when we leave here next month.
😁
When did you get the tenement on wheels? 😆
Oh that? That there's an R...V.
😱
Lmfao
You dig deep bro.No one else ever gives these supporting vehicles a second thought.Im happy you do.Keep on keepin' on.
Thanks and glad you are enjoying the channel 😉👍
If that thing had nine lives, she just spent em all 😂 an awesome Christmas edition, my friend. Wishing you a very merry Christmas!
Lol, thanks and thanks 😉👍
I was just at Jeff Norton’s Christmas vacation house in La Mirada the other day, it was awesome. They even had a movie replica ’64 Dodge D200 crew cab truck, and new for this year was a mannequin of the lingerie saleswoman from the movie. This year they even had a merch booth with popcorn, pretzel, and churro dispensers.
Fun fact about the ‘63 Dodge truck from the movie, that was the same vehicle that Kurt Russell drove in Overboard two years earlier. In that movie they pasted the words “Dean Profitt, Carpenter” on the doors. And for Christmas Vacation they covered the lettering with black spray paint.
Merry Christmas everybody.
Awesome, yeah I saw that video he put up a few days back focusing on those new additions. All that is awesome for sure, but I bet his poor neighbors never get a wink of sleep in December though, lol!
@@CarStarz42 yeah just like Todd and Margo in the movie. 😆😆😆
@@dave1986R Indded 😉👍
@@CarStarz42Yes, it certainly tests his neighbors patience for sure. However he does gift all of them a 2lb box of See’s candy a $20 lottery ticket for the inconvenience he causes.
@@thisishowiedewitt76 Lol, that's cool. Man, I don't know what that guy does for a living, but I'd certainly love to have his level of disposable income 😉
It would be really cool to see one of these (original or replica) in a Christmas parade.
Indeed 😉👍
there was a replica of it in the one in pigeon forge few weeks ago. It looked pretty legit.
@@jeffreyrigged Cool 😉👍
In 2021 I think Carmi IL had one in there Oct parade
"Merry Christmas. Shitter was full." - Thanks for the upload. One of the real Xmas classics. So many quotable scenes. Too bad Randy Quaid and his wife chose a weird path of life many years ago. He was a great actor.
Indeed, glad you enjoyed the video 😉👍
He was great as Anthony's father in ,Ren and Stimpy.
He was also the sheriff in “The Wraith “ best car movie ever
@@TheDieselndust Right, totally forgot about this gem. I also liked him in the almost unknown dark horror comedy "Parents" or in "Quick Change" along with Bill Murray. Or of course kicking alien ass in "Independence Day".
@@TheDieselndust Indeed he was, BTW; I did a video on the car in that movie too... ua-cam.com/video/rLGulWEhXoM/v-deo.html
I doubt that you could have picked a better Christmas vehicle video, I love that movie. Thanks so much for a great 9 months of entertaing videos, long may it last, Merry Christmas and have a prosperous 2024.
Thanks much friend 😉👍
Love the story of the '73 Condor 2 RV , glad to see that it's still around though but I will admit that the vandalism of it just wrong in more than one, but still intact, good to go.
Yeah, but you know; kids, they do stupid things, lol. 😉
@@CarStarz42 point made and duly noted, and I will admit that for them to vandalize it is just messed up down the line.
That smell behind one in traffic would have been killer 😂😂😂😂😂
Indeed it would!
It looks so nice parked in the driveway
She's a beaut 😉👍
Ironically, Greenlight released the exact same model of the RV in a normal looking paint scheme too, I grabbed both just because I could :D
Indeed and cool 😉👍
Very cool video! Tons of facts ! Until now I thought it was an old Winnebago altered like the Family truckster in the original movie. Thanks!
Yeah, I think most would think that. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍
I would have lost on that bet! I was sure that was an old Winnebago- I didn't know Ford made motorhome chassis.@@CarStarz42
@@BakedRBeans Yeah, most seem to have thought that and Ford didn't, as mentioned in the video; the company who built these just happened to use commercial grade truck chassis on them 😉
@@CarStarz42 Oh yeah all three of them did.
The only RV that sharts when it backfires 😂
Lol, 😉
They also make a inflatable RV with lights as a outside Christmas decoration. As well as Cousin Eddie as well as the Station wagon from the Movie
Indeed, I saw those somewhere a few years back 😉👍
Hilarious, and brilliant. Injecting the waste water into the exhaust to be burnt up? I don't know if something like that is still in use, but I'm making sure to NEVER get stuck behind an RV on the highway again.
Lol, indeed! Yeah, I think that not so great idea tech kind of faded out in the early 80s fortunately 😉
Great video.
Don't have many opportunities to quote my favorite line from this movie, but
"Merry Christmas, Shitter's full!"
Thanks and indeed 😉👍
Randy Quaid is probably living in one right now..
Lol, possibly.
Great video as always!
I must say, I do think it's unfortunate when non-car people get a hold of a car for a display or museum piece, because they never maintain it and it goes to rot.
Thanks, indeed, but at least it has a roof of sorts over it's head now and does occasionally still get driven and hopefully maintenanced every so often 😉
@@CarStarz42 Haha agreed. It's better than getting scrapped!
yours might well be my favourite channel on youtube, always great info, and just excellent taste in movies and movie cars. thanks for this, cheers, and a Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Very happy to hear that and thanks much friend! 🙂
The entire neighborhood was on Blondie Street that was located on the WB Ranch. I started my career on that lot. Sadly the Ranch was completely demolished this year. The Griswold's and Lethal Weapon house were practical. Meaning they actually had an interior. The lot dates back to the 1930s. It's sad that all of that history is gone
Indeed it was and that is a loss of history for sure.
When Clark stuck his head out the attic window to yell at Helen driving away, a glimpse of the street is revealed during the day, and I always thought it looked like Roger Murtaugh's (Lethal Weapon) neighborhood, too. Possibly from the same house. Good to hear I may have been right.
@3:33 I remember that scene in the RV. Catherine explained to Helen that Eddie wasn't currently working as he was holding out for a management position
That would make sense, 😉
Love the series. Watching uncle buck now, would love to see what you can dig up on the beast
Glad to hear that. Yeah, that's been a tough one to find enough info on, but has been on my list since the beginning, but I'll cover it eventually and hopefully soon rather than later as many have requested it recently 😉
As a teen I remember seeing the Condor factory on Rush St in El Monte. My grandfather had a business just around the corner on Peck Rd. I turned 13 in 1966.

i been really liking this channel, shows everything from the big famous sports cars to Eddies RV XD, i loved the Al Bundy episode personally, personally i wanna see Franks Car from naked gun, the Ford from Men in Black, the Pontiac Lemans police car from Smokey and the bandit or if you can the Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III from Caddy shack.
Glad you are enjoying the channel and yep all of those are already on my mighty list to look into. Thanks 😉👍
Great video CarStars! Lifetime sub for sure!
Thanks and glad you are enjoying the channel friend 😉👍
Something just occurred to me. In the film this is obviously shown as decrepit and run down looking RV, but also ancient for even that time period. In the film it wouldve been 16ish years old right. Yet a 2007/8 RV to me today in 2023 doesnt seem as old. My Uncle has one older than that and it doesnt look archaic to me from the outside. It easily holds its own look wise with others on the road.
Indeed, you can only round out a box so much, lol 😉👍
Great channel, love the vids, can you do the pink and black Trans Am from "Shaker Run" one day? it's a great car chase film that no one ever talks about
Thanks and that one is indeed already on my monster list to look into at some point. Thanks 😉👍
🍀Hilarious 😆✌️
😉👍
'Eddie ,I cant believe your'e standing here".😂

The 360 Ford two barrel wasn't really a dog until you got to steep highways like Kingman, Arizona or the Grape Vine in California. The rear end gearing was such that at 65mph, the engine was just touching 4000 rpm. They got about 8 miles per gallon if driven hard and around 10 mpg if you didn't push it. You could go through the gears foot to the floor without guzzling fuel like a 4 barrel carb. We had friends with Chrysler 413 engines as well as the 440 in motorhomes. About 5-8 mpg was considered normal for those engines. That was in the late 1960's when premium gas sold for about 27 cents per gallon.
Indeed.
Merry Christmas
😉👍
Ty i really loved that RV and so did snots hehehe
😉👍
Nice 😊

Merry Christmas CarStarz

Awesome video! Thanks for the great research! Could you do a video about the 1973 Dodge Charger in Wheels Of Terror (1991)? I try to research this topic but found absolutely nothing…
Marry Christmas!
Good film that car always looked cool in the film with the custom front grille
Or the school bus with the "race engine"...
@@LongIslandMopars with the horrible slowmotion action at the end 😂
@@christopherhelber720 Yep. The whole movie is horrible. I remember when I bought my 74 Charger that my parents told me about a movie with my car. Then I saw the movie and just cringed....
@@LongIslandMopars And the "crappy" clutch" LOL.
I need that model in my collection!!!
😉👍
I have one
Could you imagine driving behind one of them when they got the shit burner fired up? 🤮
Indeed, lol 😉
Merry Christmas to you, sir. I'm glad RVs made today don't have a way to burn the waste off through the exhaust. That would STINK! Although, I think the Grinch would love that. I noticed the die-cast model said 1972 Condor II when it's actually a 1973, but that could just be a mistake on Greenlight's part that they didn't catch.
Thanks much and indeed 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 You're welcome.
They are called macerators. And yes they are still available.
@@glengerdes4158 Oh, for fuck's sake!

Merry Christmas everyone.
I have a couple of suggestions for consideration. Ice Cube's Navigator in Are We There Yet.
Uncle Rico's van in Napoleon Dynamite
Indeed and I'll add those to the mega list. Thanks😉👍
My mom is actually looking all over the place to try to buy one right now
Lol, cool. Yeah many are pursuing the cheaper RV living these days, but that one may be a tough find though 😉
@@CarStarz42 yeah she's in a abusive relationship and trying to get out and that's the cheapest option we think.
'Well eddy you brought the hole family to celebrate christmas in that rusty heap of rv with the help of big guy who's name sounds like al for some reason 😅😅' yes my friend today's video is wonderful time of the year for cousin eddy as he comes to griswolds house in his old school rv that shouldn't be on the road let alone living in it unless he's on really long vacation 😂😂 anyway thanks carstarz for surprising me with another under dog movie vehicle to know off so see you later and have happy holiday day buddy ⛄️.

Can you do the evil snowplow from the movie “Snow Day”, from the year 2000? Love you channel!

3:38 I thought the interior of Eddie’s van was supposed to have rubber sheets and gerbils
Lol, yeah those are indeed missing in that replica; must have left them at the old house, 😉👍

I found the green light Chase version of the RV when it was first released at Toys “R” Us
Cool 😉👍
I feel like one day you'll do the truck from Tango and Cash and
Charger from Wheels of Terror
You bet, both are already on my list for sure; once I find enough info for them that is 😉👍
@CarStarz42 Nice! Cant wait, your channel is so great. And the die cast channel is really cool btw.
I now have a reason to go to the Cleveland area.
😉👍
There's a 1972 in my neighbors backyard. Hasn't moved for 10 years
Indeed a fate many old RVs have met.
@@CarStarz42 A 1966 27 foot Dodge Tavco that once belonged to Dick Smothers, comedian in the 1960's Smothers Brothers hasn't moved an inch in 47 years. Its all fiberglass on a Dodge chassis with 2 barrel 318 and torqueflite transmission. I just saw it last week. It sits behind a home in Grover Beach on a concrete pad. I think it needs a Dodge Cummins with Allison 6 speed trans. And maybe a heavy lift helicopter to lift it out of the yard. It was last moved in the Summer of 1976.
@@kimmer6 Interesting 😉👍
Can’t believe they used a 360 when 440’s were available.
The condor used a ford chassis so it had a 360 fe engine. The ever popular 440 was a Chrysler product so it was available in a dodge chassis. Fun fact, when the federal government bailed Chrysler out in the early eighties part of the deal was that they could no longer produce motorhome chassis.
@@davidleonard8369Ford made a 360? Was it a truck-only engine?
@@MrJeep75 So they put a Chrysler 360 behind a C6 Ford transmission? Weird. I guess they used a bell housing adapter.
@@MrJeep75 yes. It was the same bore as the 390 but had a shorter stroke. It was only available in 3/4 ton and larger pickups and medium duty trucks. Oops this was meant for long island mopars. But no it’s not a mopar LA small block 360, it’s a ford Fe big block. Same family as 390, 427 and 428 car engines.
Yeah, David explained it already... Thanks David 😉👍
Merry Christmas 🎄 and very cool video and faxts for Eddie's 73 Condor II RV . From Christmas Vacation. I do have one question about the film if you watch it what year and model was the Dodge Pick-up you see in the being of the Film?
That would be a '63 Dodge D-200 pickup 😉👍

That would have been a bit better at least 😉👍
It's Ford based! Neat.

I think Hallmark released a version of the RV in their "Keepsake" decoration line recently. Great vid. I'd always wondered what brand it was and if it was really that "rusty and trashed". May the "scum trash punk" that vandalized it stay on the "Naughty" list permanently. Thanks for Posting.

I can tell fellow viewers watching this video where one is I see it every time I go to Portland Indiana on state road 27 & 18 you can't miss it! It's a shame its just rotting away there. Some one needs to see if thay can buy it. I have enough projects of my own. What I can see it's very intact. This information may help someone looking for one.
Well, they do take it out and drive it every so often, so hopefully it is being kept up enough that it'll be around for years to come and at least they have it under a roof/carport of sorts now, so that probably helps a bit too 😉👍
@@CarStarz42 No, l not talking about the one in your video! This one is sitting at a abandon gas station in Indiana, North of Portland Indiana.
