Good morning Scot and Melody!! 🥰💕 Your last advice (I think) was about organization. I’m a very detailed, organized person but I’m finding that since I went full time in February, the way I had been organizing things, was kinda counterproductive to what I should’ve been doing for tax purposes and such. I recently got My Reseller Genie and one thing I’ve learned is that I should’ve been keeping track of when I purchased the items in the custom skus so when I transferred the information to MRG, I’d instantly be able to see it instead of going through piles and piles of receipts!!! 😅 I do the accrual method.
Also, we’re purchasing a LOT of stuff because it’s garage sale season and hoping it’ll carry us through the winter. So NOW I box the days finds with itemized receipts of what we paid, date and wear we purchased it.
With that said, I think it would be awesome to see a video of WHAT to do to get organized for reselling so we’re better prepared for when all of a sudden business is booming and you find yourself behind on the keeping track of purchases and other things like that. Would love to hear your thoughts and process! Thanks! 🙏 😊

I have been selling on eBay off and on for over 15 years just to generate some supplemental income. I haven't sold much on eBay lately, but I'm gonna dedicate some time to selling again just to clean out my stock. At one time, I had 2 stores set up on eBay, but I'm no longer selling as a business just as an individual. Thank you for the motivation I need to keep going. Scot, as you know, I've been selling on ebay - and watching your videos - for almost a year. Yet I also still watch your videos such as this one for new sellers or planning-to-be sellers, because I always gain some new insight. Thx, as always. Edited to add: P.S. For those of you watching this video and getting ready to "take the plunge" into reselling, let me say that I, like Scot and Melody, am also retired. I went into reselling without knowing ANYTHING about it except to "buy low and sell high." Lol. And after almost a year of selling on ebay, I've found that once you get past that initial, scary "I-don't-know-
what-I'm-doing" feeling, things will level off a bit. Yes, there's a steep learning curve at first (and I'm not all that computer proficient!) But keep watching these kinds of videos - Ralli Roots also offered a recent helpful video for new resellers - and you'll gain not only a ton of knowledge, but you'll also gain self confidence with each step. Best of luck to all of you!

Not really. But, you can end up with a lot of things listed that will never sell. It's always a good idea to go back through your inventory from time to time and make sure it's still something you believe will sell. If not, part ways with it.

Still working full time as a senior and want to retire and have eBay as a supplement to my social security. Do you recommend selling any and everything or should I have a niche that I stick to? Thanks!

If you have plenty of access to a niche inventory item, there's no problem with that. For me, I enjoy selling a broad inventory. Either method works.
