You did forget a couple things. The TrailBoss LT has a Trailboss start up screen while the ZR2 gets nothing. Also, the ZR2 has the really satisfying turn signals while the other don’t.
so really the difference between a trailboss and a zr2 is a front locking diff and DSSV shocks on the zr2. and of course ZR2 badging which I suspect is what the majority of people buying a ZR2 are interested in. not seeing the advantage worth tens of thousands more in price.

I only paid 6k more than a Fully loaded trail boss add the Dssv Shocks and ZR2 badge and i think it was worth it.
I don't know why you can't put a tilt and telescoping steering wheel in the Custom, how much more difficult is it to make the steering wheel telescoping.
i am looking at a new truck, usually i go Ford, but the trail boss with the diesel is singing my name. Chevy half tons are the best looking trucks on the market, the diesel gets good MPGs with all the reviews praising it, the trail boss looks super cool, and i can get to deer camp without ripping off the plastic bit under the bumper... but....i am poor...so i gotta look at the custom...but...i wish to hell there was a "northwoods utility package" for the custom line...heated seats, outlets for cordless tools and stuff in cab and bed, towing package stuff like trailer brake controller etc...but just keep small screen and 40/20/40 seat. keep it simple, but the truck would have all that stuff that really makes a truck handy and able to work. right now to get it if i am reading the chevy website correctly i have to get the LT line, but then i loose the bench seat, which i need...also the LT gets to spendy as a result of a bunch of stuff i won't really use anyway...
I have driven all three, but my favorite is the Z71 trail boss. LT is my favorite. It has more options, which looks better, and the interior is much better. What's a 13-inch screen? Heated seats, sunroof heated steering wheel heated back seats. And lots of other stuff.
you have to shop around bought my ZR2 for 70k TRX is 90K and if you want a V8 Raptor R you at 120k these price comparisons are not accurate.I didn't want a V6 Raptor ZR2 was perfect mix of price and engine for me.
Here’s the differences 1.if you’re spending upwards of the 50k area don’t buy a Custom! Spend the extra 8k$ get an LT stop buying base models what’s another 50 a month on 600$ 2. LTs are nice heated seats/wheel, different gauge clusters , bigger screen, but again it’s a trail boss and you get 30$ rancho shocks that ride like shit will buck you out of the seat immediately put bilsteins on it if you buy it. 3. The ZR2 is embarrassing for 80k$ uses the same shocks as the Colorado zr2, still ride like shit again swap for Bilsteins and they are still having issues with the two piece lifters, wait another year when new model comes out and they release the new 5.3 and 6.2, and they get rid of the basic ass Chevy interior even with the “refresh” which is nothing. Different screen inside
As an owner of the LT be aware of three things; 1) DFM shuts down engine cylinders but can be deactivated by manually shifting into L9. 2) That DFM can lead to a weird noise when coming to a stop around 14mph. 3)This one hurt my soul and I wish I would have known, NO SPORT MODE

Plenty of off-road reviews on UA-cam with the truck doing just fine running through mud and ruts. Factory trucks are more useful off-road than people give them credit for. When I was a kid my dad had a Dakota sport v8 that would climb near vertical sand dunes, no problem, completely stock. These things are leaps and bounds above that old dinosaur.
