Thank you very much for this video. Also, I must compliment you, the camera is horizontal and you did not play background music over your voice. Bravo, for those reasons I tip my hat to you.
I'd been watching several vids about the 25 and the 27 version to try to figure out the real difference between the two (I already have the mini and I want an upgrade for a more than one person camping session) and I was constantly looking for the 27 series. Now this vid really helped me choose, finally. It will be the 25 series. Because it looks to me that there's not so much size difference between the Mini and the 27 as between the Mini and the 25. I am pretty hard at imagining sizes without seeing them physically. Thanks for the great content you share with us!
I've bought a 25 but unsure if I should go for the 27. The larger size and weight is a bit off-putting but the fact there's a lot of room to move things around in the pan makes it seem a lot easier to use, plus I can cook for others when needed as well.
I bought a trangia and haven't looked back, I can see how it's so popular. I have the 27, I bought it thinking it was the bigger one! Still for one person it's perfect, two at a push, cheers Andy.
Just like the shark, the Trangia is a perfectly evolved creature that has reached the peak of its evolution and can't really be improved upon. I'd never give mine up for a gas system like the Jetboil. There's just something so relaxing about firing up the Trangia and getting into some good outdoor cooking - just taking your time and enjoying the peace and quiet
Some others have made improvements though... The Soto navigator has a pot cozy for the inside pot, which not only protects the outter pot but it also helps you hold it while you eat off it, and it's quite useful for rehydrating meals, since you can use the cozy to conserve heat instead of spending more fuel for a simmer. It's pot gripper serves as food tongs for flipping meat and such. There's an included microfiber cloth that doubles as a bag for the pot gripper further protecting the inner pot. It also comes with multifunctional lids which serve as cutting boards, strainers and have inserts for holding gas canisters (if you happen to use that). It's basically the gas stove version of the trangia, but doesn't come with a pan or the stove itself. The Alocs CW-CO5 is hard anodized aluminum for only 75$ the whole thing. It has a metal lid for all pots, including the frying pan, which is very useful in fact, much more than the plastic cutting board one. Its windshield has holes and can serve as a wood/twig stove, if necessary. It also has a hole that allows you to adjust the simmering without (re)moving the pots. The esbit 2350 has holes in the upper windshield for heat to get out from, which is designed to make all hot air go through it's pots' heat exchanger. Bit heavier, but a larger volume of pots and inherently more stable for cooking since the pots interlock with the stand. It comes with a pad to hold hot things, a lid and two plates. Hard anodized aluminum by default for half the cost of the 25. It has volume measurements on the pots. The burner's simmer ring has a handle too for easier adjusting.
I use some yellow kitchen cloth in between the different parts to protect the non stick and stop rattling. I have the 27-6 and love it. Thanks for sharing.
Love my new Trangia 27 cookset & thanks for your review. I needed a larger volume pot for winter snow melting & summer family camping. Thought the Trangia 27 Billy would solve all issues but it is not available at the moment. FYI a good substitute for the Billy is the Sea to Summit Alpha 3.7liter which is available (at least in Canada). Added bonus is the MSR 1litre plate fits perfectly in the bottom of the pot then cook set on top. Lovely fit. I know a few purists may hate a mix & match solution but it works! Love the channel.
Love Trangia, I have the mini which I’m not sure they’re making it anymore and the 27. Most of the time I camp alone thus I don’t need a bigger set but they’re awesome.
Thanks Andy!! been uming and arrhing about adding the 27 to my ever growing kit. This vid along with your cooking ones have swayed me lol. Go that man legend
I found the trangia 25 at the carboot today for a fiver, i'm already hooked on it. I've discovered that it fits inside a dutch army collapsible bowl (£6 from ebay) so have the washing up sorted in the same package. I'm going to house it in an mtp gas mask bag as it has side pockets for fuel and water.
I've had my T25 for around 25 years. Have upgraded pots and pans to non stick, added the pricey but really worth it pot stand and replaced the kettle with the stainless GSI Outdoors which has a wide lid area making it easy to store handle etc. Mainly use gas now. Not the Trangia model but the copy from Go Systems at about half the price. Just about perfect camping setup. An interesting alternative to Trangia which I also have is the Endurance Lava 400, mainly marketed at school groups, but a very good clone.
Just got my 25-2 UL, and I will be ordering the non stick frying pan and disc thing. Looks like a great kit and I hope to be able to get out and use it this coming summer, 2022. Good stove set up. Maybe should have bought the 27, since its just me I'm cooking for. But I do like bigger pots and pans. Great video.
@@pedroclaro7822 Only time will tell. I was unable to get out in 2022. So I am hoping this year. The 27 is smaller, but well, maybe your right. The 25 I've had one since the early 80's , now I have two. Take care and be safe.
I had my new Trangia 27 in action over Christmas/new year and it was brilliant. Out performed my companions Evernew on the cooking (though the Evernew is faster on the boil but eats fuel). I fear my old love the Svea 123 will see fewer outings here on in such is the usability of the Trangia.
Nice collection of Trangia! The disc should fit under the set to stop it sinking in soft snow, redundant in the uk.😂 I have several Trangia bits, great kit.
Nice sets - actually I do prefer the Vargo Alcohol Fuel Bottles - less pricy, less weight and comfortable size 250ml (8oz) to easily adjust the amount needed per trip and comfortably store in my backpack
New to camping here. I'm looking at getting a Trangia 25, there are so many types of materials which makes deciding quite difficult. There is also the Trangia Tundra 3. Difficult!
Thanks for reviewing the trangia I am looking at purchasing too. Can you use these pots on a camp fire too thinking the hard aluminium? I like the sets but wonder if the full kit is a bit too much to carry. Thanks very much.
I am thinking: Goldie Locks and the Three Bears! The two-person version seems most practical in that it will hold enough food without leading to spills and frustration. Honestly, I would rather take more weight and some suitable 'real' pot and pan combinations.
Hi Andy. Another really enjoyable review video. Apologies if you have already mentioned it but, out of interest, what kind of burn time does the 25 stove give you when full?
Question . Does the 27 wind shield stack inside the 25 wind shield? Would be good to have a second burner running when baking bread or frying and boiling all at once when there is a Croud
Great comparison. I see you have the fuel bottle. Is it worth it in your opinion? I'm on the fence on whether to buy it or just use a water bottle with one of those squirty caps at the end
Does anyone know if you can use the 25 frypan on the 27 Stove ? I have a 27 but would love the flexibility of the bigger pan from time to time without purchasing another unit.
Just got my 1st, a mini, love it. I've used Bio fuel from BQ, but surprised how fast it burns dry, is that normal. How long should a full trangia burn for without summer ring on and what fuel do you buy. Thank yoj
I've been looking to get a Mini for a while but since they stopped making them the eBay prices have gone crazy! Edit: Got one for £30 shipped, should get it next week. 😁
Hey Chris, I just tried it.. it kind of balances on the hinged bits of the pot rests but i dont know if id trust it.. something like 2 long tent pegs across the top would probably work though.
The trangia 25 has got to be better to cook with even for 1 person rather than everything squashed into a tiny frying pan on the smaller set? It doesn’t look like it would make much difference in carrying it around either
this is true, i kind of enjoy the challenge with the smaller sets haha.. makes me think through the dish im going to be cooking and whats available to use :p

Same! And I'm going duossal instead of anything else. Aluminum is toxic, hard anodized will wear off and titanium cooks unevenly

just looking into getting one of there, perfect timing as usual

All your videos are excellent on both your channels!

ill take the 27 all day long.great piece of kit
I have a top tip! buy a tea bag squeezer to use as tongs, fits snug in the kit and works great. £1.99 on Amazon but iam sure they can be found cheeper
nice.. i have suger tongs in the cutlery set, small and handy :) ill check the tea ones out though

Do you regret not going for the 27? I'm thinking, for just a difference of 300g And a little bulk it's probably worth going with the 25.

The only vid showing how the mini 28 fry pan turns black! Just how it should be showing use👍
Sure would like to get that larger set. Very nice.
brilliant video thanks very much
Thanks, Andy. 👍🙂
Love these gear review videos. Hope someday they can be 20 Min or longer my mate.
I have the mini and the 25 I replaced the mini handle with the one like the 27/25 have found it a much better experience to use
Really helpful. Thank you very much.
Nice collection of Trangia!
The disc should fit under the set to stop it sinking in soft snow, redundant in the uk.😂
I have several Trangia bits, great kit.
I had a 27 but sold it for a 25, though it has more space, it is slower and uses much more gas. For one camping stick with the 27
yeah... I am having a few sets at different sizes as well...
Nice vid , love the mini compact and pretty light
Excellent review. Clearly choosing a set would depend completely on the user's personal needs. well done.
We can't have an open fire in New Zealand, so this would be a lovely size for me my husband and my 8 kids
Great comparison video. I'm about to buy the 27, can you tell meet where you got your blue eating plate from?
Prefer the 25 as a solo van camper. Found the 27 just a little tight on space meaning I had to be careful not to spill or splash while stirring etc
In my 27 I have 2 pots as well as the pan.
*Hi Andy ! waiting for your next bushcraft video. interesting gears like a full kitchen set 😜 Thanks for this gear review aswell..Cheers !!! 🌿🏕️🔥🍗🥣🤠👍*

Hello,
Please review for new cooking gear, this is new: ikamper disco series! It is awsome!
Bästa jämförelsen. ❤
I am thinking: Goldie Locks and the Three Bears! The two-person version seems most practical in that it will hold enough food without leading to spills and frustration. Honestly, I would rather take more weight and some suitable 'real' pot and pan combinations.
haha, very true :) I strangely quite like the 'challenge' that comes with these doing more complex dishes.. makes me think the whole process through
nice sets! how bout a massive cooking session and use the lot? maybe have someone stopping at the camp to do it? just a thought.
wow haha, ill have to have a think about that one... maybe a christmas dinner challenge ;)
Buying an XC70 Volvo estate for car camping. Roof box. Bell tent or Oztent or tarp and small tent?
Hi Andy, where do you get your fuel from for the Trangias? I always struggle to find it locally. Cheers
Tenol or methylated spirits :)

What would the price be in US dollars? I would like to get a set
Just checked and the Trangia 27, a few varients of range from, between $100 US to $150 US!
Can you use the 25 (bigger) kettle on the 27 set?
The kettle's just a tad small on the 27...
