In a world of social injustice or apocalyptic circumstances, it allows the Brotherhood to thrive and even reach out to other faiths. One of the more potent moments in Peptuck's works is when we see the Nod commander's perspective of visiting a Nod medical center during the Nod Blue Zone offensive. The commander noted not just Nod formal priests, but also monks, Christian Priests and even Imams amongst the throng of people, and each were doing their best to soothe the injured and the dying. So, in an abstract sense, Nod does have merit, especially for the downtrodden and the ill-fated by giving them a sense of purpose. Lore wise, this is explained that these suits are dilapidated from Second Tiberium War and lacked any adequate maintenance. They are functionally just pale versions of themselves, more form then function. Which is kinda brilliant, fluff wise, if you ask me. Nod being a shadow of it’s former self, just trying to at least look the part it was in yesteryear. @@everythingsgonnabealright8888 Yeah, it's interesting to note that NOD had only made advances in their more estoric tech like stealth and energy weapons. On top of revolutionizing walker development. This fits in line with the lore, because it proves that Kane had only focused on using NOD as a way to weaken GDI enough so that the Scrin could effectively win. And that Kane never actually aimed for NOD to win the war at the end of the day.
That, and you also have to remember that since Nod recruits troopers in the thousands from Yellow Zones, Nod quartermasters probably have to cut costs here and there to ensure EVERYONE gets adequate gear to be sent into combat (and probably never return).
When I passed Renegade, I thought that there was something like instructions or prayers at the entrance to the Hand of Nod, but the list of dead also fits well. And speaking of those who should not be forgotten, why not make a video about the "Forgotten" and humanoid mutants generally?

GDI focused more on protecting the rich to keep their funding, and Nod taking an advantage of the dissent of all that masses living in Yellow Zones, largely ignored by those lucky to live in Blue ones, to fuel their war effort.
Every time this guy posts a new video, my day gets a whole lot better! And then even almost 1 whole hour of c&c lore is just awesome! Keep it up my man, you're doing an absolutely great job!

My favorite iteration of Nod military is C&C 3. The contrast between the masses of militia soldiers and the few but professional elites and the even rarer cyborgs is super well done. GDI always felt boring as a faction compared to Nod, they look and feel too much like a generic sci fi military we've seen a thousand times.
I think that was intentional in designing the GDI. They were supposed to be grounded in reality and using well-known generic sci-fi designs (which are also based on realistic ideas) in order to highlight the contrast between them and the far more unique visuals of the Brotherhood of Nod, which choose form over function. The same way that wacky characters work best in stories when there's a straight man to contrast them against. When there's a generic-looking faction (which is on-brand for being the no-nonsense government-funded military institution) the esoteric style and design choices of the Cult faction they regularly fight against is noticed far more easily.
@@LazarultosI think the Scrin expanded on this contrast as well, with their units and structures all being biomechanical machines that literally bleed when damaged. Makes everything they build and deploy seem…alive.
Kinda makes me think Nod propoganda was too effective. They were getting more Red and Yellow zone residents on their side than they could equip to Tiberian Sun levels and had to split the difference between the Black Hand types and more scrappy lower tier troops. Also good motivation to do well and earn your black armour.
@@AgentofLADONThere was also the fact that people were just plain desparate. GDI had walled off the habitable zones and ZOCOM was off doing things in places that were most likely far from civilization. The average yellow zone human can only withstand so much suffering, and Nod took full advantage by offering some form of protection and society, many would join for a chance like that.
I want to see what an actual Scrin military force looks like. The ones we see in 3 are just a mining fleet that were expecting light, scattered resistance, if any at all
At the near end of the video with the Nod Trooper concept art for the future, I am filled with a burning, seething rage for the cancellation of Tiberium by EA. An honest to goodness official sequel of Renegade needs to be made. And since we played a GDI commando with a sarcastic 80s styled action hero attitude with a sardonic sense of humor in the first one, I demand we play for Nod in the sequel. I'd love to work for Kane.
1:48 I can understand GDI using desert camo in the Nod Campaign in Africa but it just makes no sense for Nod to use urban camo in a desert or forest setting... Good thing Renegade set that issue straight... 13:05 *FIREWOOD!* (flamethrower noises) 40:25 *BURN THEM ALIVE!* (flamethrower noises) 49:49 Forgot to mention the Commando's loyalty to Kane is like the loyalty of the Sisters of Battle to the Emperor, *ETERNALLY* loyal... That includes killing fellow Nod soldiers the moment they question Kane's orders, as demonstrated by that unlucky Saboteur who started questioning Kane's orders to capture the Nerve Center in the Italian Hills within earshot of a Commando and got his brains vaporized by said Commando...
"Good thing Renegade set that issue straight" My brother in Kane, Renegade made the whole thing worse with Nod's using TibSun's bright red+black colors :P On a serious note, I have my own headcanon with that: the Brotherhood is supposed to be a terr0rist group who fights a lot inside of cities (as seen in the cinematics) so it makes sense they use urban camo. Or it could be related to the Brotherhood's disorganization, cuz' despite all their tech and influence, Nod is still a mix of Third world countries' armies, ragtag fanatics and paramilitary/mercenaries (like Carlos Mendoza) so I doubt they even think about changing uniforms based on the setting, they probably throw their armies as cannon fodder while most specialized groups (chemwarriors, flame & stealth tanks) took care of things, just like in TibWars with the militants & black hand/etc. In the case of GDI, I guess it's just a matter of style, real UN has its peacekeepers wearing blue helmets and berets that don't really fit in any setting, so
All hail Kaine!! All Hail our Messiah! "This morning was the most glorious morning in the history of the Earth. Peace - is upon us. A gift to every man, woman and child, from the Brotherhood of Nod. Victory - not just for our people, but for our species."
So let me get this straight. Instead of telling the geeky Saboteurs to go jogging so they'd move a little faster, Nod kmstead decided to just chop their legs off and put robot ones on? I don't know if that's stupid or genius.
I really love how even in the Tiberian Sun design, the Hand of Nod has its fingers digging into the ground, so it is technically still grasping the earth.
everytime i see C&C renegade. my heart rate rises and i remember back when i was (Probably too young to be) playing and when these simple ai and map designs were a real challange. and now adult me replays it once or twice a year on max difficulty with no issues. Fun memories
Got back into making custom figures. First wave has been 4 inch figs. Done a disc thrower, jump jet trooper, and medic. Also a nod light infantry figure. Working on a nod cyborg commando at the moment. I love me some CnC
The contrast between Tiberium Dawn and Renegade Nod troops reminds me of the GI Joe comic by Larry Hama. In one of the flashback panels we see an early Cobra squad of militia types wearing Cobra bandanas as face masks before they had a larger funding base to afford the Viper uniforms.
another exelent briefing as always Intelligence Officer Jethild word around the base is you've impressed the big man himself Kane so much so he's declared you off limits in my experience that means something keep up the good work 👍
Yeah... I mean the next one is GDI related, but more on their non-walker armored cavalry(except the Mammoth Tank of course, there's already a video on it)...
1 thing I wonder in NOD's lore. Shadow Team are the elite soldiers of NOD army. We could say that they're the lesser version of commando with best equipment including personal stealth generator much like Black Hand's stealth trooper in the first war. But yet, they are not The Black Hand.
@@Mglue3 for the balance it can be understand. Even remove the stealth like Spector and commando. But again. In lore, Commando are training by Black Hand and yet with vanilla's and Mark of Kane's commandos are using personal stealth generator. Which modern Black Hand consider to be coward. Then why Shadow Team aren't the Black Hand? This bother me alot.😢

RISE UP
DOWN WITH GDI
We FIGHT for Nod!
Make them suffer!!!
We've got the rockets!
I didn't realize I was waiting for this video, but I very much was.
13:05 *FIREWOOD!* (flamethrower noises)
40:25 *BURN THEM ALIVE!* (flamethrower noises)
49:49 Forgot to mention the Commando's loyalty to Kane is like the loyalty of the Sisters of Battle to the Emperor, *ETERNALLY* loyal... That includes killing fellow Nod soldiers the moment they question Kane's orders, as demonstrated by that unlucky Saboteur who started questioning Kane's orders to capture the Nerve Center in the Italian Hills within earshot of a Commando and got his brains vaporized by said Commando...
Lmao a lot of Nod fans find themselves on the side of the Emperor
@@cinder1667 Well, Kane being an immortal superhuman from the dawn of time, the paralells write themselves XD
Grey was very stylish during the early stages of the war
"Good thing Renegade set that issue straight"
My brother in Kane, Renegade made the whole thing worse with Nod's using TibSun's bright red+black colors :P
On a serious note, I have my own headcanon with that: the Brotherhood is supposed to be a terr0rist group who fights a lot inside of cities (as seen in the cinematics) so it makes sense they use urban camo.
In the case of GDI, I guess it's just a matter of style, real UN has its peacekeepers wearing blue helmets and berets that don't really fit in any setting, so
Welcome back commander!
The wait is over.Finally.Amazing content and effort as always.
Nod is always so much more fun to play than gdi
ZOCOM: Please allow me to introduce myself.
I will forever be a Nod boi at heart, but…
Consider tank and, more importantly, mech columns.

All hail Kaine!! All Hail our Messiah! "This morning was the most glorious morning in the history of the Earth. Peace - is upon us. A gift to every man, woman and child, from the Brotherhood of Nod. Victory - not just for our people, but for our species."
The second tiberium war has to be my favourite, its atmosphere was pulled of amazingly.
Finally something new to enjoy
I’ve played KW since the year it was released and just learned the Hand of Nod can be deadly
Yup i didnt get any sleep its already 4 in the morning, cant stop binge watching this channel vids
I always loved the NOD trooper look in Tiberian Sun the most.
In the name of Kane !
An hour long C&C lore vid, hell yeah!
Can't wait to see how the soldiers evolve in C&C 4!
C&C is forever dead and gone EA made sure of that
@@ReZel80657 C&C 4 is already released... (Its a horrible game, but the lore is there).
@@GaratghDeloi That game does not exist
@@GaratghDeloi Don’t know what you’re talking about.
@shilka123456789 oh it exists its just a hollowed out dried husk
I love that in 9:30 room they use the minigunners background xD
So let me get this straight. Instead of telling the geeky Saboteurs to go jogging so they'd move a little faster, Nod kmstead decided to just chop their legs off and put robot ones on? I don't know if that's stupid or genius.
I mean it works faster 🤷
You are one of the best documentary videos about Command and Conquer on youtube, congratulations.
Greetings from Colombia.
Im glad i was there for original command and conquer. Loved that game
I stop evreything just for watch, so good job !
Remember: switching to your sidearm is faster than reloading.
We all just love this channel
Man i really love this 1 hour long lore videos, makes my day everytime i see a new one uploaded in the feed box, thanks a lot for making them!
Thank you so much for the Lore Videos, as a CNC fan, I love going through them.
I’d never thought i’d see the day where you and a video on infantry thank you @jethild

Me in class: I sleep
Me when i see a 1 hour video about Nod infantry by Jethild: REAL SHIT
Got back into making custom figures. First wave has been 4 inch figs. Done a disc thrower, jump jet trooper, and medic. Also a nod light infantry figure. Working on a nod cyborg commando at the moment. I love me some CnC
Awesome prefer the lengthy vids👌🔥
Welcome back Commander! 🫡
The Tiberian dawn storyline would make an awesome TV series! I mean the franchise as a whole would make a great series.
You’ve gotta to a Video on legion next, just so I can say “KANE BUILT THIS IN A CAVE…WITH A BOX OF SCRAPS”
31:30 Jethild again teaching me something new that I didn't know with every video
another great video dropped by jethlid great content
The game footage at 7:00 is my main exposure to the Tiberium series, an FPS called Renegade. Was pretty good as a kid
Absolutely love the "G.I. Joe bad guy" look of the Nod Infantry in Renegade.
We need more man! Train them from the hand of nod!
41:33 *General! The black napalm upgrade is complete!*
EEEEY! New post, love to see it! Thoroughly enjoy your vids. :)
Yes it finally happened the "Analysis about evolution of soldier uniform" i ask over year ago. !!!!!
another exelent briefing as always Intelligence Officer Jethild word around the base is you've impressed the big man himself Kane so much so he's declared you off limits in my experience that means something keep up the good work 👍
Welcome Back. Declassified briefings continued.
Now Waiting for a GDI Infantry Lore, Video.
"Let's get this party started"
Just relax, it takes time, he will upload them eventually.
Outside prob balance issues. In universe, its probably a pride thing. The Black Hand and Shadow teams probably consider themselves seperate.
Black Hand is more of the brute force direct assault type so they just give a stiff 🖕 to subtlety...
Excellent video! Since the beginning I found Nod the most entertaining faction to play with.
amazing deep dive into Nod infantry, do a Episode on Mutants!
Nice video, I love so much the brotherhood of Nod
almost an hour of Nod lore? i see someone likes me xD. great work mate, keep it up!
I'm glad you went in detail of the confessor's AK as well. I love that thing.

30:30 That's an interesting detail I never noticed in all the time i spent playing C&C3 Tiberium Wars!

Nearly an hour of C&C lore?!
Hell yeah! Peace through Power!!!
Awesome video, basically a lore wiki deep dive but in audio format lol. All the footage is very much appreciated as well! I used to play C&C but forgot how cool that world was.
Love these vids! These games were a staple of my childhood and to see this kind of background/lore is just awesome
This has to be your best video yet. Thank you for all your hard work into making these!
Whenever you post a video it is a great day ^^. I love how in depth your videos are, I reallty like the TBW lore it has so much stuff to be explored!
Before full NOD standardization in the ladder half of the 1st Tiberium War, id like to think NOD forces differed in competence, organization & weaponry. From NOD backed Local Warlord Militias, Dictatorial Government Conscript Armies outfitted with aging soviet export weapons/vehicles to Private PMCs & Special Forces Groups equipped with the latest in military hardware/possibly experimental vehicles. It would definitely be an army that varied vastly in appearance.
The subs to likes ratio should prove to the algorithm that we are all loyal.
The Tiberium Wars is just G.D.I. Joe vs The Brotherhood of Cobra in the Command & Conquer universe and I'm all in on it.
Nice video
I honestly prefer Tiberium Wars 3 Militants, i just like their design and voices
