Agreed. The closest thing I have seen is from Addmotor, on one of their trike models they have a wooden platform between the pedals that is used as a footrest. It maybe possible to make something like that for other trikes.
E310 width I really appreciate your comments and frequent updates. I am puzzled by Admotor's decision to limit the width of the E310 to 26", especially with the enhanced power and speed. I just watched a side-by-side comparison of the RAD and the Lectric trike. The reviewer noted more stability in the RAD (33"w) vs the Lectric (30.5"w). The E310 will be 7" inches narrower than the RAD. I fear that the E310 will be much more vulnerable to tipping. Thoughts?
I share your concern, I hope its not a bust since we just ordered one. Being more narrow is better for getting thru doorways, so for people in apartments it would be great. But are they sacrificing safety? Possibly. Thanks for the comments and support.
Have you looked at the Addmotor M-330-F ? Myself, at 6'3" 330# it seems very attractive, except for the higher price. Higher rider/payload cap., 3" tires, 25 amp. controller, 7 speed Shimano derailleur, w/7level PAS. Also mid-axis torque sensor whatever that does.

While I am still shopping it appears the 310 has more going for it even though cost $500 more. In addition, I will need to purchase the front and rear baskets for another $150. Question, have you found any aftermarket baskets that would fit these trikes? Being able to fold these trikes and fit into my SUV is a big concern for me.
First, after market baskets are hard to find. There seems to be no standard in bolt patterns. I suggest contacting addmotor and just ask if they will include them. Someone else told me they asked and got them for free. As for hauling in the SUV, although it folds, its not easy to lift. I suggest a hitch carrier.
Great comments. Now they have come out with a Plus model CityTri E310 which is more attractive to me. The Bison Pro seems to big and awkward at the moment. Thanks again for your excellent review.
Hi Richard, as usual great review. Mechanical brakes, deal breaker for me. Build quality, who knows until you have it in front of you. As far as I can see this bike overall has nothing over the xp other than a stronger motor

I enjoy your reviews of etrikes. They are very good and very helpful. May I recommend a trike that I am looking at? Look at the Sixthreezero foldable trike at $1,699. It has all the things you seem to want and it folds easily. Thank you again for all of your reviews.

I noticed this model doesn’t have the chain guard like I’ve seen on other brands. My concern if my wife gets this and wearing long pants it could cause a potential safety risk. Should she be concerned?
I don't believe it would be a problem. Many ebikes come without a chain guard. As long as they have a guard around the front chain ring, that will protect anything from getting pinched there. The rear sprocket is far enough back that its not a problem either. On rare occasions my leg will run against a chain and the worst that happens is I get a little chain lube on it. Thanks for the great question. I am selling my Bison Pro. Although its a good trike, its very large. Once my wife tested the Lectric XP, we realized the 500w motor is very powerful, the front suspension isn't a problem until we have to leave the hard surface, and over all despite the issues we had with shipping damages, we both like riding it. As for the E-310, we don't have it yet. Based on the specs, its better than the Lectric XP, even with mechanical brakes. We like that is a smaller size. Ad for the E-310 and mechanical brakes, you shouldn't notice any difference in stopping power. Hydraulic is a little better and also easier to maintain. If its an issue, you can buy hydraulic calipers that replace the mechanical ones. It used the same brake lever, still has a cable running to it, but the caliper is hydraulic. Amazon sells them for about $50. I have high hopes for the E-310.

@@EbikeReviews thanks for the note. My concern seems to be relieved about the Lectric XP. At 310, and without the front suspension, it will still give me a great ride. Just discovered your post about the Addmotor E-310 Plus and have subscribed. I've spent the last several days reading/viewing everything I can find about e-trikes to see if I want to sell my car and transition. I live in Houston, which is flat, and would be using the trike for all transportation -- generally less than 10 miles distance; always on pavement (that can still be rough). Your review of the Addmotor E-310 addressed all the questions I have about preferred brakes, motor power; although not so much about whether fat tires would be a good idea even if no off-road use. Tippiness is concerning. And of course budget is an issue -- prefer under $2,500. Do you have any additional thoughts? Thanks for the good you're doing with this information.
I am working on a full review. I like the e-310 a lot for many reasons. Good quality build, strong motor, larger battery than most for more distance. its a little tippy, but once you ride in a little while you get familiar with what you can do and what you shouldn't. I don't have any concerns about tipping over, although accidents happen so its always a possibility. Lectric XP is a little more stable, but, the lower speed, shipping problems, smaller battery, less power, just isn't worth the $500 savings. The E-310 is probably the way to go in my opinion.
The main difference in the two is motor, battery, weigh and width. Both bikes will lock up when trying to push backwards. Making them difficult to get out of bike racks, sore them in a closet or corner. without tilting the off of one rear wheel so it will roll. Especially with the Addmotor weighing ten pounds more than the Lectric. And the Lectrc will barely fit through a standard 32 inch interior door. And the Add motor will not. So if you do not have a garage. You store the bike in the living room or outside with a cover. And do you really want to spend $500 for a bike that goes 20 mph over 14 mph. On a bike that the faster you go. The easier it s to be dragging your face on the tarmac.
Well Charles, your wrong on several issues. I back up the Lectric XP trike with no problem. The Lectric is just a little wider than the e-310 so not sure why you think the E-310 wont fit thru the same door. The speed you have correct, but for those that want to go faster they have that option with the e-310. The e-310 also has a lot more power to get up hills, 90nm of torque verses 65nm. It has brand name components over Lectric or no name brand. It has suspension front forks. It has three disk brakes instead of two. It comes in three sizes and more color options. As soon I get mine, I'll speak to the overall build quality and the packaging which has left far too many Lectric customers with damaged trikes.
@@timothymusolff4600 That has to be the most powerful motor on a trike. Usually they are 60-80nm. My Magicycle Deer has 96nm and it's very powerful. I just hope there is a way to adjust it for people that want an easier less aggressive ride.
The advantages of the bigger motor and battery will be somewhat minimized due to the increased weight of the trike. Also, I think the height restriction is legitimate because of the design of the trike. There actually is a simple difference between the Addmotor and Lectric trike that is clearly visible in the side-by-side photos you posted those likely accounts for this. Time will tell. If it is correct, which I hope it is not, this will definitely limit sales somewhat. Not everyone will be thrilled with the large size. Because of where I live with very limited space, I would not be able to use the Addmotor trike. By the way, the Lectric's claimed range is correct/accurate as per the information on their website. 60 miles is achievable. Not sure why you feel the Addmotor's range will be half of their claimed range. It may not be spot on but half? Since there are so many considerations when it comes to range, it is difficult to get accuracy.
I agree weight can be a factor, but in this case I think it will have a very minimal affect. I have been thinking about the height restrictions and it could be because the E310 is a few inches more narrow. So they are trying to prevent tipping issues. Not sure why they would go so narrow. As for mileage, I have not been able to range test the XP because its been broke. I have heard that their posted range is more accurate. Most brands publish the very best laboratory results. So realistically how most people ride with real riding conditions its just generally accepted to cut the advertised range in half to get a better idea what to expect. Of course, I have encourage people to do their own range test so they know the capability of the ebike based on how and where they ride.
@@EbikeReviews | I am looking forward to your full reviews of both and always enjoy all your reviews! I believe the AddMotor is a few inches wider than the Lectic. All these types of trikes are not necessarily stable on turns and care needs to be used when turning at all times with all trikes. As far as driving range, I agree with your premise, yet I do get mileage ranges consistent with Lectric's stated figures with my trike. I do live in South Florida in a relatively flat area with minimal inclines. And few stops. So, the AddMotor would likely do well too in my area as well. So, if 45 miles is realistic, it is certainly ample for most. Time will tell. Perhaps you can let us know. Many factors contribute to an ebike's or trike's range obviously. Cutting the claimed ranges in half is probably a good and 'safe' way to estimate realistic range for most. I doubt that most people using trikes like these will be out on long excursions lasting several hours at a time, so it is likely a non-issue anyway. Whether you get 30 or 50 miles of range is not a concern for those who only ride 10-20 miles on a typical outing. Based on comments I see from Lectric riders on FB, many ride 5-10 miles on typical trips. Personally, I ride about 10-15 per trip. | I believe the reason for the height restriction is because of the position of the pedals. It seems to be farther to the rear than one would expect. Especially considering the AddMotor trike is about 7 inches longer than the Lectric XP. Just an observation from the image you posted of the two trikes side by side.
I can understand tire size making a difference in minimum height recommendations but if the frame is the same it does make sense to me that bigger wheels could possibly make a difference in maximum height. It just means a taller rider doesn't have as far to go before their butt hits the seat with bigger tires. Once seated and riding frame geometry is the only thing making a difference for various size riders. I initially thought perhaps it had something to do with center of gravity since it's so narrow but then I thought taller tires and a taller rider will compound any problem with being top heavy. I plan to buy a trike next year and so far Lectric has been the only one I keep coming back to but this one might actually give me something to think about with the plus size option now. I'm looking forward to reviews. Thanks for the video.
If Addmotor was to make that go-cart style w 2 wheels up front and steering wheel instead of handle bars, they would have a hit on their hands, especially with younger kids. Or have a clip-on front end option. 😊
Lectric XP Trike Killer!!! You did not convince me on this post. Your "review" sounded more like a commercial since you have actually never even seen this trike.😇
No one has seen this trike because it has not started shipping yet. Far from a commercial, I spoke about the Specs I liked and the ones I did not. Very unbiased. I won't know how it performs until its available.
You left out the question mark in your quote of the title. Moreover, it's clear he is just reviewing the specs. Why did you bother posting your comment?
Road test critical. Agree you just read specs. Also $500 difference between this and Lectric trike is significant. Latter has some nice features. They all are limited to ~14 mph although one can unlock to get a few extra mph speed.
Here's more: price of $1999does not include cargo accessory, and no hydraulic brakes. Specs says it weighs a whopping 86 lbs!. I like the looks though.
I would love to have something like this only one problem I can't afford it.. Not to mention that it would end up as a five finger discount around here.. Hardcore Truth pretty sad that people are like that.. See I get social security disability myself I would love that.. What i'm looking for is a hybrid of gas and electric.. I need a toe behind pod as well for groceries.. Unfortunately i'm way over in arkansas..
When things go right, I let people know. When things go wrong, I let people know. Its called honesty. I don't sugar coat my reviews like many channels.
That's exactly why your reviews are among the first I view. They are not promotions (as many so-called reviews are). They are honest opinions based on what you know and experience, and you give the reasons why, so I can determine for myself if it's important to me. If you change your mind about something, you say so and tell why. I like that you give consideration to the fact that different people have different needs, and that you take that into consideration during your reviews and test rides. I feel that by the time I buy my e-trike, I'll have a good sense of how well suited that bike is for my needs and my purposes. (I just kind of wish you had a hill to test on, cause in Vermont, hills are a given, and one reason I am buying an e-bike is so I can get out of my little village and into the countryside!) @@EbikeReviews
@@neshobe Thank you again for all the support. I appreciate your feedback. Here's what's most important for hills. Your looking for the Torque rating. A Torque rating of 80nm is about the average. For hills, you would want 90nm or higher. In my Bison pro video I showed how it would not go up my driveway of 3% because the torque was only 65nm. After upgrading the controller, it had 80nm. It went up the driveway. But 80nm is still not enough for steep hils. That is why I suggest you look for 90nm or more.
I just found you yesterday on UA-cam. I really appreciate your reviews!! I just watched your review for the add motor 310. The way you went through the website description of the bike step by step helped me a lot. I understand now what each thing means now. I subscribed and will keep watching. Huge thanks
Cable activated disc brakes? If manufacturer specify max rider height, that's what the lawyers go by when accidents occur. Suspension fork weigh more than rigid fork, poor suspension is worse than no suspension, especially when you have to control the trike with the fork. Overall narrow width reduce stability, combine with poor suspension just spells handling issues.
I hve an ebike but the first problem I beleave is tht these companies need to make thm more afordable 2000 dollars 1500 dollars 3000 dollars off the hook prices for the elderly and the blue collar worker.
Agreed. If you look on Alibaba you can find well equipped ebikes and trikes for much less coming direct from the manufacturer. But these companies double the price because of their overhead costs.
Lectric already sold 6000+ trikes. Addmotor just a little late to the game. Price point alone makes it an easy choice for the Lectric. Really should get the actual product you’re reviewing before making any conclusions.
It was just announced yesterday. Give the company a minute to get them shipped. As for an easy choice, yes, its an easy choice for someone on a budget of $1500. But, anyone that has a higher budget, not an easy choice. There are pro's and con's to both.
Thanks! Another viewer alerted me to it. How did you learn about it? There is nothing on the website and when I had talked with the company they didn't mention it.
Me too, but if this turns out to be a much better trike I would add hydraulic calipers that are still cable actuated. Very easy to swap out just the calipers.
I agree that no hydraulic brakes is a problem, obviously the hydraulic brakes are better, but I think the addmotor etrike is for most of senior folks just getting start with etrike, in this situation, a machanical brake can lower the cost so offer a better price for folks, and it's eaiser to maintain, maybe that's why they use the machanical one.
Selling the Bison Pro for sure. The Lectric I still have hopes for. I heard back from Addmotor, we worked out a deal so I will be buying it today. Won't get it until September sometime.

I would be very interested in buying the Bison Pro from you. I live in Chicago, though. Let me know if it is possible.
@@frcarlpieber4948 Sorry, not possible. Shipping would be $300-$400.
I was wondering if a person couldn’t put cable Pull hydraulic brakes like juin tech brakes on it?
I was thinking the same thing. I wont know until I get it, but it might be a good upgrade.
Are you going to do an unpacking?
Yes, I will do an unboxing video. Its going to be a few weeks until I get it.
I just ordered one today!!
The e-310 or the Lectic?
@@EbikeReviews I have the lectric I just ordered the E 310
@@EbikeReviews i’m a bigger guy at 290 and that bigger motor impressed me
@@timothymusolff4600 That has to be the most powerful motor on a trike.

I am looking forward to your full reviews of both and always enjoy all your reviews!

@@XterraforceThanks for sharing your comments and the support. I hope to get ours in a few weeks.
If Addmotor was to make that go-cart style w 2 wheels up front and steering wheel instead of handle bars, they would have a hit on their hands, especially with younger kids. Or have a clip-on front end option. 😊
Ha, I have actually been thinking recently a 4 wheel option would be amazing fun. I would be first in line.
@@andrevanderwalt69 thanks for the support!!! Its much appreciated.
My Grandpa wants to know if will do wheelies?
Would be a fun ride if it could.
👍 Thanx Richard ! ~ 'Addmotor' Is Obviously Much Better Than "Lectric' !
And They Stand Behind Their Product Much More Than "Lectric' Crap Too !

Your welcome. Glad it was helpful.
Do you have beef with Lectric? I have seen a couple of your videos now that tries to negatively depict the best selling ebike company
When things go right, I let people know. When things go wrong, I let people know. Its called honesty. I don't sugar coat my reviews like many channels.
@@OnlyBobafett Thanks for the support!
We don't know until we try it.
Have you read the negative reviews of Addmotor?
Yes and I have read negative reviews about all the companies I have researched. None of them are great, but, all we can do is hope for the best.
I brought an addmotor trike for my grandma, can you tell me the negative review? I am also worried about it.
@@alfred3066 I don't have any Addmotor trikes yet, the new E310 hasn't arrived so I don't know how it will perform yet.
There is a 310 plus for taller people
Thanks! Another viewer alerted me to it. How did you learn about it? There is nothing on the website and when I had talked with the company they didn't mention it.
To bad no hydraulic brakes I prefer them
So you’ll have to adjust 3 brakes pads
Me too, but if this turns out to be a much better trike I would add hydraulic calipers that are still cable actuated. Very easy to swap out just the calipers.
@@EbikeReviews that’s true
I agree that no hydraulic brakes is a problem, obviously the hydraulic brakes are better, but I think the addmotor etrike is for most of senior folks just getting start with etrike, in this situation, a machanical brake can lower the cost so offer a better price for folks, and it's eaiser to maintain, maybe that's why they use the machanical one.
Buy that one and sell the Lectric once it's working.
Selling the Bison Pro for sure. The Lectric I still have hopes for. I heard back from Addmotor, we worked out a deal so I will be buying it today. Won't get it until September sometime.
SEP delivery date, by that time most of riding season would be done for the year.
