Hey Jeremiah, great video!!! This trike is perfect for me with my partial disability! I thought I would let you know that I purchased one as a result of your video using your link. The one thing I didn't find in the video was the what the trike measures when folded width was 32" but I also need height and length. I am trying to figure out what set up I need transport it with my older Ford Ranger truck that has a canopy on it..
If anyone is seriously interested in purchasing a trike, they need to watch this video regardless of the brand, best freaking review I have ever seen. Now, I need a review on how to get enough money to buy one, lol. this would seriously increase my quality of life!
I RODE MOTORCYCLES FROM 12 TO 72! VERTIGO FORCED THE SALE OF MY BELOVED SCOOTERS AND MOUNTAIN BIKES. THE LECTRIC XP IS JUST WHAT I NEED TO GET OUT AND ABOUT AGAIN. RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE!! I WOULD LIKE A LOUD COLOR FOR SAFETY REASONS!!! HOW LONG WILL MY ORDER TAKE TO GIT TO HUNTSVILLE, AL????? I WANT MORE THAN A PIG NEEDS SLOP!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😁😁😁😁😁
Great review. I’ve watched a lot of reviews on this trike and you are the only reviewer who explained (or perhaps even understood) how the drive wheels work when/if one of them comes up off the ground. That makes me feel better about the possibility that it will happen. I think I’m the target customer for this bike - in my 60’s and haven’t ridden a bike in years. I have no desire to go fast, just a little assist on hills. I first saw it while at a campground and the woman riding it was about my age and said she loved it. She let me take it for a spin and I immediately knew I’d order one! Thanks again for a great review!
Any day now mine will be here. I am older and with balance issues and I do not care to go fast, I like to ride and see the surroundings, smell the flowers or just stop and enjoy the view. Slowing for corners just makes sense, we need more items for riding enjoyment for the elder folks out there. Thanks for showing what this trike will do. Just wanting to ride free and enjoy the ride at my own pace. I understand that this trike also has a walk assist, so you can walk beside it if a hill is just too much for you or the trike, and cruise control is a blessing when your hand goes to sleep all the time.
This would be amazing for people who delivery from stores or as a rental/owner for a senior community. This is really nice and the folding is very thoughtful!
@@timbuckingham6734 Possibly. What I am finding is the nicest, fully loaded bikes are offered only in larger sizes. Even if the height is ok, the handle bar reach is too far. Women seem to like neon colors. This color can be promoted as a safety, easy to see.

I'm in the process of possibly buying a electric folding trike. You hit thus review out the park. Watching other reviews wasn't bad but they didn't demonstrate much they just talked specs. That's good but you really put the bike to it's test. Me being disable ♿ needed a video like this to explain the folding, braking, pedal assistance if needed, speed and hill climbing. Thnx again for being very detailed in your review of this trike. 👍🏿👍🏿
You have a helmet on for safety but no mirrors. I have been riding E Bikes since the early 2020s. And have learned that riding on streets or sidewalks a mirror on the left sides is my most important safety device. Seeing traffic coming up behind you is a must. Especially for people making right hand turns. And never assume people doing so will use their turn signal correctly. Lots of people do not use it until they get to the turn, And when crossing a crosswalk with a crossing light. Never assume people will stop at the white line. Especially if it is a right on red crossing. People will stop in the crosswalk. I've had that happen many times even by a cop. Defense is the most important safety device and respect autos. Because they can cripple or kill you.
WOW!! Sorry Jeremiah for only now seeing this review! What an excellent, detailed and thorough review of relevant and inciteful info for this trike! (E.G. even giving us the 31.8mm seat post diameter - just one of many examples of small details, but is something that is so useful to those of us who plan to buy (because you know we want to shop and compare other seat posts/seat options), and something just about every other reviewer fails to mention). Your coverage of the hill climb ability, power consumption (range), controller stress/heat, RWD, differential, turning radius, handling, weight, are all so pertinent to a typical customer for this specialized bike (who will likely place high value on NOT getting stranded in the middle of nowhere with a dead battery, fried controller, etc.). I've followed your reviews since your first Lectric XP 1 a few years ago. You are just getting better and better. Right now, for me, you are the best (and there are so many now).
Oh wow! Thank you so much for your excellent review of my work. I really put a lot of heart and soul into my videos and I’m excited to see it’s noticed! Thank you for being a true follower from the beginning!!!!
This was a great review! You really put it through the paces and didn’t miss a thing! Showing how it turns around was a great idea, because that’s what older people would worry about. The baskets make it better for going to the grocery store. I have a young cousin who wants one of these just to run to Walmart. Thanks Jeremiah. You really do the best reviews! 😊
Most advertising tend to be somewhat misleading. For example, the advertised weight of 62.5 lbs does NOT include battery weight, front and rear baskets. So that puts the total weight of aforementioned at over 70 l bs. But for a trike that is still ok, just a little more grunt work loading it into a Subaru Outback. On the whole, still a good value and with nice features.
Thanks for the info! I have mobility, balance, and muscle fatigue issues. I've been unable to ride a regular bike. I ordered this trike and am so excited to get mine delivered! I ordered the deluxe seat as well.
Great review. I have had my Lectric XPtrike for several weeks and, so far, am extremely pleased with it. I learned a few tips from your review I will put into practice. Thanks!
I did not know anything about e-bikes. Saw this on facebook and bought it for my wife. She loves it to ride around our neighborhood. Only negative I would mention is that it is advertised as coming assembled, wrong. If you are good with bikes its not a lot, but I paid a local bike shop to unbox it and make it right. But, good quality. I recommend it.
Thanks, Jeremiah, for reviewing the LECTRIC trike. My friend is waiting for hers to arrive later this month. I’m going to share this positive video with her now. Again, thank you for all that you do. Donna Coastal Georgia
Thx for a great review! Already bought my Lectric trike, they basically took my $$$ and said "go to the back of the line, way over yonder!". I think it'll be worth the wait; I'm 66 YO with a bad leg and balance/equilibrium issues, so I've got the time. No hills for me, I'm right on the Atlantic coast in Florida... no hills=no worries! I think the word you were looking for in the video was "cruising" in re: the targeted market. I've read ALL the reviews, and yours was by far the best of the lot!, so thanks for that. Enjoy your day!
Thanks, Jeremiah! I ordered my trike, and it should arrive in June. I am unable to hand the bike due to balance issues and being 75 years, I need to be less fearful when riding. This sounds like something I can handle and be safe. I had 3 falls on the bike and will not be riding it anymore.
I just bought one of these trikes for my wife. The front and rear cargo racks were extra cost, along with the wide, backrest seat. BTW, the racks are made of steel and heavier than they need to be. Including tax, it was $1,800. It came fully assembled but folded. Maybe it was just me, but I had some difficulty getting the frame pivot latched. The box it came it was not damaged at all but both rear fenders were shoved into the tires, the left one dented. Reviews indicate this is a common problem. As delivered, top speed is said to be 12 MPH. A quick ride on my street resulted in a max of 11.8 MPH in both directions, cancelling out wind.
I’m probably not your target audience but I watched this because The electric trike looked cool. Then about three minutes in, I started having anxiety because my husband had a bad bike accident a few years ago and our whole family witnessed it. It was pretty traumatic and he ended up in the emergency room with a brain injury. He’s mostly OK now but the only person in our family who ever wants to get back on a bike is actually my husband. The rest of us were too traumatized. However after watching you ride this and telling us how safe it feels, I’m excited to get back out there. I love this trike, it sounds awesome. Thank you so much for reviewing!
@@JeremiahMcintosh I am loving it! Easy to ride for a 70 year old man. The response using the pedal assist is great. Climbing hills are hardly a problem. I highly recommend this trike!
This is the best review I've seen for the Lectric Trike, bar none! You deserve a lot more subs and views for your enjoyable reviews. I'm using your link to order one today. Thanks!
What a great review. You make these very interesting, Jeremiah. I love what Lectric has done in the design of their 3-wheeler. No doubt, this was engineered for the senior rider. I might invest in one of these by the time I get up there. I would definitely want more speed and some gears to meet my style of riding. I'm sure Lectric is thrilled with the job you did on this review, Jeremiah. Nice!
Thinking about this for the wife. I'm thinking a truck bed mounted crane from harbor freight to sling lift it into the truck bed and a heavy duty tarp to cover it up. And some beefy lock tie down points also.
Love your video. I have this Trike and love it! Live in a beautiful neighborhood but has lots of inclines which ended up adding stress on my knees. Ortho doctor recommended riding a bike, so being that I am 71 decided on a Trike. This trike is good for assisting pedaling up some of the hills. I am putting ten miles a day on the trike, I have now hit 100 miles. What type of maintenance is needed now?
Thank you for your great review. I just ordered this trike, and its just for the reasons you give: I had a bad bicycle accident in 2017 (brain bleed, with a helmet on!) and now I have balance issues. Haven't really been able to ride anymore, so I ordered this trike to get back out there.
Yes, looks terrific. Any possibility of try before buy? I’m 90 but still walk and have reasonably good balance. I have a son who wants to approve! We are in the Keller, Tx area. The price is right and the folding feature is perfect! Is there a rear seat? My girl friend and I are a max 300 lbs total. We may like to go a short distance to the movies! The steel rear structure sounds good! I’m in great shape for my age and this trike would take some of the boredom out of this lifestyle!
Thank you for your video. Unfortunately I couldn’t click the link, having bought the bike before I saw your video. I got scared when I saw a video by a guy who was riding his mother’s new trike and gave it bad reviews. But after your video I got courage took your advice and got used to the trike before venturing out. Even the book recommends this. So most important a trike is not a bike and if you are used to riding bikes you have to adjust to riding trikes. Your advice about leaning into the turn was invaluable. So after some test drives I took it out for a ride in my neighborhood. It was great. I probably had the seat a little high and the handle bars not quite high enough but I adjusted them and I will go out again tomorrow. I’m older so felt it was time to be safe and switch to a trike. The only comment I have is I wish it had gears because sometimes I’m not using the muscles in my legs to pedal harder, I think you called that running out of pedal. I did most of my trip on pedal assist 2 but have one big hill to go up close to my home and had to switch to PSA 3. So anyway it’s mostly positive, and yes I love the tight turns too!
Hey, thanks for all the information you shared, I did not realize there is a cruise control option, I just got mine in June and have not submitted a review yet because I feel there are pros and cons and I’m trying to give it more time, so I can be fair in what I state. so for cruise control punched the throttle and - at the same time? Then to take it off cruise I am assuming just touch a brake? I don’t like that the suspension isn’t really good, there’s a lot of bumpy roads around here and railroad tracks, and a lot of the corners lean in so I usually end up going on the wrong side of the road to get around, which is not the brightest idea, but you say, lean right into the turn to help stabilize it? I do pull the doggie trailer with my two little Cavaliers in tow, which is why I got this model, but I’m questioning myself if I got the right one. I am a senior and haven’t rode bike in several years until I got this. But I am a hiker and former horseback rider. Thanks for any feedback
I have always thought 3 wheelers were for handicapped people and old people. However since I live in Scandinavia I really want something that can be ridden to work all year round. Hopefully we get these or something similar.
Thanks for this video.. This seems to be exactly what I am looking for. I live in an apartment in a hilly area of Madison, WI and was trying to find a way to bike to the nearby lakes. I'm 75 with balance and muscle issues from MS. While I go to the gym every day I miss exercising outdoors. This seems to be a great solution.
Thanks - We bought one and pretty much agree with everything. Did you happen to test it on sand (like a beach?) We're hoping it will be able to get through loose sand. My wife has serious mobility and balance issues. - Cheers!
Great review of this trike. I'm an old dude so this might just be what I'm looking for. Thanks Jeremiah. Keep up the good work. You just gained a new viewer.
Love this review and this trike. I just wish the rear basket was a little bit bigger since I'm simply buying it to haul around my 2 Pugs. Wonder if a milk crate would fit inside of it to make it more better for them?
For the price it looks like a good deal. I wish it had a better range or optional battery packs to increase the range but despite that it is a good deal. If you're in the 45+ age group I would recommend the cruising seat. I don't have near the expertise as Jeremiah just speaking as a 60 year old man who has recently joined the e-bike community.
We just received our two. What we are having difficulty finding is how to haul two with our Class C RV. We've contacted several manufacturers, including Thule and Letric, with no success. Suggestions?
I’m not really sure about how to haul two of them. Probably going to need to custom make something. Could possibly use a cargo rack for one and I’ve been thinking of making a video about this in the future.
That would be great. I have run into several riders online in the same predicament. If some entrepreneur wanted to take on this project, I believe they would sell out of their inventory rapidly. I encouraged Thule to design something. I think I could hear them chuckling.
By the way, your video was incredibly helpful. Would be great to do one regarding installing mirrors, best lock options, and adjusting seat with the inner and outer slots aligning.
Nice review, very thorough. I've been thinking of one of these for putting around. Also for having something for my older dogs to ride along with me. Question: How much space is needed when the trike is in the folded position? Thanks.
I actually noticed that after watching my video but didn’t notice it while riding. Haven’t had a chance to look into it to see if it’s the tire or the rim.
How much did you weigh? I wish there was a load test, going up a modestly steep hill (8%?), throttle only, with light or average weight driver and then load up baskets to achieve higher loads and max rated load (415 lb) or draft a big driver like me . Then record how much the top speed reduces.
The layout is a compromise. High speed turns is the gotcha. Having the dual wheels in front makes for more turn stability, but almost doubles the price of the trike. There will also be a traction issue in less than ideal conditions. The bottom line is this checks more boxes than any other configuration. Obviously, this is not a competition machine. Note, in california, 15 miles an hour on a bicycle is the speed limit, and you must be in a bike lane if one is available. Tickets will wipe out your monthly food budget. The problem with bike lanes at the road side is car doors opening and trash that gets blown off the traffic lanes. Using the bike lane after sundown is an invitation for a flat tire.
The bike looks like a challenge, therefore it's for anyone with patience to adjust. In town you don't want to run people down. So, slow is better. Thanks for the dog sound. Can out peddle dogs attacking? Good presentation.
Just received our trike, with damaged fenders thanks to FedEx professional delivery service standing it on its side as shown on the box. Anyway, looks great evenwith bent fenders but its a challenge to turn with lifting a wheel off the ground. My wife is scared of it still.
Thanks for the thorough review. Could you do a video showing how to clean the rotors so as not to get oil on the brakes. Also, I have balance and mobility issues so I am hoping for maybe some additional demonstration of what happens when you go up on two wheels. Thanks
Thank you for the suggestions. To clean the rotor’s I just use brake cleaner on a rag and wipe them down really well. I’ve also been thinking of making another video about riding it.
Thanks for this great video. I ordered my trike last week, but I would have used your order link if I had seen this great review fist. Can you make another video please showing us how you load the trike in the back of a vehicle? Thank you again for this awesome video.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thank you so much. There aren’t any videos yet of the folded trike being loaded/unloaded into a small SUV like my KIA Soul, or other vehicle. That would be a popular video. 😁 👋from Florida 🏝️🐊
Thank you for the great review! This bike/ trike is awesome and really well designed. I'm sold on getting this trike as soon as I save enough cash to do so. I am impressed with the range and ability to climb some hills. I don't think you mentioned the charger, I'm curious what the charging voltage is and how quickly it will recharge. I'm in my 70's, have arthritis, and need at least some exercise, but also the ability to just throttle home, if need be. I think this is exactly what the doctor ordered. Thanks again for the excellent, informed review.
Thank you. It comes with a 2amp charger and charging time will depend on how low the battery is when it’s put on charge. Completely dead should be about 6-7 hours to fully charge.
I need a few heavy duty tire tubes. Do you know of a source for 20x2.60? Is slime tubes a good option? There are many many thorns where we are parked. I’ve got a flat tire right now.
My son has balance issues and currently uses a eWheels ew-11, but it is not weatherproof so limits his ability to ride. Is the Lectric XP Trike weatherproof? Thanks for the review as we search for his replacement wheels!
Thanks for the test as I am have been interested as I had health issues but would like to get into shape with a bike but need trike as I have balance issues. And I think I need the assistance of engine as I might need help to go back home.
Great review. I wonder if there's a chance you could measure the front rack/basket mounting points. I have a similar bike and wonder if the Lectric cargo kit might fit. Ideally the front spacing would be 40mm x 80mm between the 4 screws.
This is a really nice trike but what is the battery range on this trike? Also do you have options to buy a second battery or a battery with a longer range?

Ortho doctor recommended riding a bike, so being that I am 71 decided on a Trike. This trike is good for assisting pedaling up some of the hills. I am putting ten miles a day on the trike, I have now hit 100 miles. What type of maintenance is needed now?
I might could ride 1 of those. I can't walk very Good now and Yours is the 1st 3 wheel model that I have ever seen.
You still have to be careful on it especially on uneven ground.
We only have Grass and Gravel around here and a lot of Hills on the Highway.
Thank you for your great review. I just ordered this trike, and its just for the reasons you give: I had a bad bicycle accident in 2017 (brain bleed, with a helmet on!) and now I have balance issues. Haven't really been able to ride anymore, so I ordered this trike to get back out there.
Sorry to hear that but it’s great to hear you will be able to get back out there and ride again!
I thank you for such an in-depth demo! Answered questions I didnt know I had. Thank you!
Thank you! Happy you’ve found it helpful!
Hi Jerry I put a 212cc gas engine on my Schwinn trike. You can fall off a trike. (ask me how I know) Lectric is still my favorite ebike.
I’m debating putting an engine on my schwinn trike too. How long did it take you?
you are amazing!! thank you so much for this video...such a tremendous help for all of us!
Thanks for the ride
I have one on order. I bought two XP 3.0’s early this year but my wife is not able to ride hers. So, she’ll have the trike and I’ll have a spare 3.0.
This is the best video I've seen on any trike so far. Thanks man
Your welcome!
That’s a great bike for the price. I’d rather it had multiple gears but for our needs, we probably wouldn’t go fast enough to need them.
I'm just starting to research these trikes and you did a great review here. Thanks for this detailed review. You made it fun to watch!!!
Thank you! And I appreciate the comment!
Great to hear that you got out there on it! Hope you enjoy and save travels!
Looking at Etrikes myself and this is easily my top pick. And I heard it goes pretty fast when you unleash it some.
Max speed is 13.7mph
Would watch the unleashing flik
@@JeremiahMcintosh
Still not bad, especially since one of my intended destinations is only 14 miles from my house.
- Cheers!
No I haven’t had a chance to ride it on Sand yet.
Loved this review! So quiet. Mine comes tomorrow.
We bought two! I hope you got credit. Your video is great
. Thank you.😊
If you used my link I should and Thank you so much for the support!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and hope you enjoy them!
Great review of this trike. I'm an old dude so this might just be what I'm looking for. Thanks Jeremiah. Keep up the good work. You just gained a new viewer.
Thank you I appreciate that!!
Hey Jeremiah, awesome review as always definitely a cool trike lectric does it again 👍👍
Great video! your review got me to order! great job and great positive attitude.
Thank you David! I appreciate that!
I ordered mine today! And a regular e-bike for husband. I have standing (balance) issues from a bad ankle, so this will be good for me.
Great to hear Joyce! Just be careful when you first get it until you get used to it especially on uneven surfaces.
Thanks for a fantastic review! I have one ordered but it’s probably going to be awhile before I get it. Super, super job on the review!
Your camera work is phenomenal!! I'm still undecided between this trike and Moon Cool TK1. Would be nice if you also did review on that TK1.
Thanks for the suggestion.
Love this review and this trike. I just wish the rear basket was a little bit bigger since I'm simply buying it to haul around my 2 Pugs. Wonder if a milk crate would fit inside of it to make it more better for them?
On the back there is a steel hook that a pet carrier can connect and they even have an electric pet carrier they sell lo9ks b8g enough for 2 dogs
Hi - Only one question - "Does it come assembled?" Love PegEgg
Yes it does! The only thing you will have to assemble is the front rack and basket if you get those with your purchase
Just put ours' together. Excellent!
when did you order?
@@chamathguneratne march 27
@@lgbtrain1 thanks ! I only ordered today so not sure how long it will take. The site says “shipping in June”
Couldn’t you carry an extra battery and swap it out for longer range?
@@SuzanneWho Yeah you could, you would need a way to secure it if your intention was to go in a shop or something though.
I THINK THAT EXP BICYCLE LOOKS LIKE A GOOD BIKE FOR ME I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MUCH WEIGHT DOES IT HOLD FOR A RIDER AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST
Wonder how they address potential corrosion between the aluminum and steel? Cool trike either way!
Nice review, very thorough. I've been thinking of one of these for putting around. Also for having something for my older dogs to ride along with me.
Question: How much space is needed when the trike is in the folded position?
Thanks.
If I got this for how expensive it is with the back wheel wobbling like that I wouldn’t be too happy. Looks like you got at least one bent rim.
I actually noticed that after watching my video but didn’t notice it while riding. Haven’t had a chance to look into it to see if it’s the tire or the rim.
@@JeremiahMcintoshI watched closely and the wobble looks more like the reflective strip on the tire not uniform. The rim looks ok.
Did not see that???
Always enjoy your videos. I like that it has a differential!
How much did you weigh? I wish there was a load test, going up a modestly steep hill (8%?), throttle only, with light or average weight driver and then load up baskets to achieve higher loads and max rated load (415 lb) or draft a big driver like me . Then record how much the top speed reduces.
I weigh 175lbs
Neat.. I ride with a group and one guy has one.. Check the fender nuts and bolts.. Guy I know had one pop off😂
Thanks for the tip I’ll make sure to double check that.
Thanks for the comprehensive review.
Love my new XP Trike, thank you for the review
Enjoy!
Good job!! I love mine!
What is the range you get without pedaling?
Thanks for this great video. I ordered my trike last week, but I would have used your order link if I had seen this great review fist. Can you make another video please showing us how you load the trike in the back of a vehicle? Thank you again for this awesome video.
Thank you for the suggestion. I’d love to make a video about that in the future.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thank you so much. There aren’t any videos yet of the folded trike being loaded/unloaded into a small SUV like my KIA Soul, or other vehicle. That would be a popular video. 😁 👋from Florida 🏝️🐊
Great video! I appreciate all the details. I think this would fit my needs.
If you live within 5 miles of your local town, I could see this as an alternative to driving, weather permitting.
AWESOME, MINE SHOULD ARRIVE 10-4 23 ,
78 Y.O. AND STILL CUTTING THE RUG .
Do we have a choice of steel tires?
Please show us how bumpy the trike looks on graveled road too. Please and thank you.
This seems pretty heavy to put in the storage cabinets of an Rv for one person but I like it.
@@JeremiahMcintosh Thanks for the quick reply! I've got the video bookmarked, so I'll be sure to use your link.🚲 😎
Thank you! I appreciate that!
I'm buying one today, great video! Thanks.
Thank you! enjoy!
Thanks for the reminder to be mindful when going slow, Ferris!
28:40 how does the open diff handle braking if one wheel lifts off the ground?
The center light DID come on when you pulled the break lever
Thank you for this comprehensive review. You made me glad that I bought one.👏🙂
What are recommended load weights for baskets and estimate max speed and charge endurance? Thanks!
Love the tutorials, looks like your getting a little buff there, 😊keep going my friend!
I need a few heavy duty tire tubes. Do you know of a source for 20x2.60? Is slime tubes a good option? There are many many thorns where we are parked. I’ve got a flat tire right now.
I’m getting mine in June and I can’t wait 😜 🎉❤🎉
Congratulations 🎉🎉 enjoy!
My son has balance issues and currently uses a eWheels ew-11, but it is not weatherproof so limits his ability to ride. Is the Lectric XP Trike weatherproof?
Thanks for the review as we search for his replacement wheels!
It is rated IP 65 and states in the manual it can withstand light rain and small splashes but not designed for heavy rain or submersion.
The only thing I can think to add to would be mirrors.
You should get a pretty good distance from it and you can purchase an extra battery from their website with the link in the description of this video.
Looks like a great product really clean video straightforward very interesting great price
Can't wait for mine to arrive!
Be nice to hit 28 mph when that dog chases you. ❤
