Came close to getting the Obsidian. Seems like a real nice ebike for sure but I waited and settled on the full suspension Ecell's 5 Star. 1,500w motor, 60v battery, 40amp controller, Tektro 4 piston hydraulic brakes.. I just love it. Most powerful, most comfortable e-bike I've ever ridden and for $300 less than the Obsidian.

The nose of the saddle is up because the seat part is level. Keeping the seat level with the nose slightly elevated takes weight off your hands. The saddle was set up properly from the factory.

Can never understand how hard some people find/make in just opening the box the e-bikes/e-scooters are shipped in ! ! .....Just follow the split all way down the middle of the top length, then under each of the 2 folded end flaps with a knife, it doesn't even have to be that sharp.....yet you see them fighting, kicking and tearing away, kicking and smashing it to shreds....I'm no perfectionist peeps, but please, just make it simple, for the viewer and yourself feller's/lady's. 😀

You are correct. I was hoping to save the box because you can sell them for $50 to folks selling used bikes.

Or you pack around 60 pounds of stones into the box and sell the whole thing as a brand new obsidian bike like a smart scammer

That 1000 watts of power is what makes the bike require registration & insurance and the rider must be licensed.
It also is not allowed on many trails as it exceeds class 1 and it is not even permissable on trails with a 750 watt cap.
If I have to register and insure it I may as well just ride my KTM Duke.
I considered one of these. The CYKE Falcon A at 750 watts(mid drive) also caught my eye but these fat tire bikes really don't do it for me.
My 29er(emtb) has big enough tires lol.

Even with the full suspension, I don’t know if this bike would be very good on single track trails. But it’s really good on dirt roads and whatnot.

@@phoxrides I ride a Niner RIP e9 currently. I like the trails too much lol.
I would think for singletrack that the weight and tire size may become a disadvantage although I am sure that combo will make the terrain feel pretty plush.
I don't have much experience with fattire bikes though so...
      Tradeoffs with everything.
Bikes like the Obsidian seem to fall into what I personally consider the overlanding segment.
I think that type of use is what this bike is more aimed at.
This is all just my opinion.
      Nothing more.
As a daily commuter I think is is a great choice. Plush ride, power, thumb throttle.
Seems to check a lot of boxes.
Be nice if they offered a 750 watt variation as well so it would open the market up a bit more for those who cannot drive. Many will gravitate to those who lost their license for an infraction but there are other reasons people don't drive as well.
Not a bad bike in the segment. You could do much worse.
Just things to consider as with everything in life.

The 1500w motors with 3000w peak 60v dual battery Wired full suspension eBikes are out now for $2k. Why settle for this 48v 1000w motor single battery ebike for $2300?

This is a 900-1200 dollar level ebike that costs 2000 dollars. No thanks.
