Join me as we slow down and analyze the history making hallway fight scene in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with Peter Quill/Starlord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Mantis, Nebula, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon.
I'm going to miss these characters.

This scene may have the most creative fight choreography in the entire MCU. This movie was absolutely phenomenal.
Really? Bc i thought this movie was kinda terrible ngl
So creative Zack Snyder did it over a decade ago in "Sucker Punch"
@@allbthatmom2153well it’s not
I think its safe to say that Nebula is the Team’s Tank (aside from Drax of course). She can take a damn beating like its nothing.
Groot
The only main thing i noticed from this video while watching this scene in theatres was star lord planting the shocking device on the first guy. Made me laugh for the entire fight after that. It is mindblowing how much they put in such a short scene. Yes this is definitely better than the hallway fight scene from Rogue One!
he planted it on that guy's S. the whole cinema burst in laughter.
The scene from Rogue One wasn't a fight scene so much as it was a slaughter
the scenes are got for different reasons. This is great because it is heroes just being general badasses. Rogue one is good because of the sheer terror Vader inspires
What's truly impressive is that it is one continous camera shoot without any "visible" jump cuts and not a single angle switch like in action scenes in most movies.
This kinda reminds me of that long scene in the Daredevil show (although that one is way more dificult since there is almost no CGI involved)
Would you say this is more difficult given the fact of the practical and cg elements combined? Plus having 7 characters on screen showing off instead of just 1 character.
@@micahaka Hard to say until we get a glimpse of how it was made, it could be mostly CGI (until the close ups). I remember seeing the behind the scenes of one of the long shoots of daredevil and it took them weeks to do that single scene. I guess we've to wait, but regardless of that, this looks awesome.
@@micahaka No way! Well in that case, great job!
This now may have topped the "one camera" scenes in all of Marvel. Congrats :)
Can't wait until they release a behind the scenes for this one. I'll be studying it under a microscope. With CG involved, this is way more difficult. The fact that they have to remove stuntmen/mocap actors to place in CG characters on top is already a huge challenge. All the interaction between practical and cg is extremely well done and that takes months to refine. Anyone who worked on this in any capacity should be proud.
I saw the movie yesterday and this scene was FUCKING AWESOME due to the fact that it was done in a long, single tracking shot
The most badass action scene in all cinema
Zack Snyder did it back in 2011 with Sucker Punch.
The amount of little details in this fight scene. James Gunn is a great director for this movie
Marvel should hire Mr. Y and have his golden voice narration for an especially gruesome action scene 👍
I was tearing up at this scene. James Gunn managed to show the highest and the lowest of the Guardian in the same movie and this was the moment when it hit me that this was the last I’d ever see of the Guardians
those guys never had a chance now that nebula, grown groot and drax were there
dude I was expecting at least a minute intro with an ad read in the middle. Amazingly you started off right away and didn't take me out of the immersion with ad. Amazing job m8.
Mantis is crazy 💀
You just realized nebula is good in combat? She literally was rasied by thanos and trained daily against her sister
Sure, they kept telling us that. Might be wrong, but this is the first time I'm actually seeing it though.
@@y.reviews she fought Gamora hand to hand and with blades in Guardians 1.
@@thembanitheone True. I was just really impressed with how she fought in this scene specifically.
@@y.reviewsNot sure why this person is complaining - you’re right in that this film was her best display of competence yet!
So sad that Drax never did a Batista Bomb on anyone. But Groot slamming that guy to the ground is technically a batista bomb
2:48 - 2:49 Drax bombs one of the creatures.
It's an Alabama Slam actually (hard-core holly)
This was a great video! You're earned a subscriber.
Damnnn I needa rewatch this movie bruh I wanna see all the details I missed and experience watching it in the theaters again
This was a W Video my dude.
Yo Drax finally went apeshit and it barely lasted seconds lol i love it though! 🎉
Akin to kingsman secret service in the church, the hallway scene exploits our perception of a “one-take” and shows some of the best camera work I’ve seen with a marvel fight. Compare this to avengers’ “shaky cam” crutch, absolute night and day.
Reminds me of the church scene in kingsman
What a great fuckin video!
is it me or does this guy sound like that one asian food youtuber
Wait who. Now I'm curious.
I think he is talking about the guy from Jay and Sharon
I wish daredevil Born again could be this good .
Don't forget the most important part...... NO SLEEP TILL BROOKLYN!!!
/ou are mostly just telling what we already see in the front instead of focusing the background.
Anything I missed in the background that you see?
it's incredible that now we have youtube content that literally just describes what I'm already seeing on screen. I guess this is for blind people
i dont get why people latch onto this scene so much its not that crazy
Depends what your definition of crazy is.
To me it's technically well executed and choreographed. It lets each character show off their specific skill set and gives them a memorable send off. I can't think of anything in Phase 4 that came close in creativity or seamless visual effects.
The choreography and cinematography are great, that's the main reason. But it suffers from the common flaw of relying on the bad guys to be pretty incompetent for most of them to survive more than a few seconds exposing themselves like that.
@Josue Castro Family gathering is a great way to put it.
It was a spectacular scene. You just sound like a miserable c*nt that has to be a contrarian to feel clever and interesting in all honesty
@@hoeswaymedia john wick 4 action scene was ok, but gotg nailed it with the music. One scene on my mind which is better was kingsmen church scene.
