- this is a follow-up video for my original yes welder 250 pro is junk the manufacturer saw the video they sent me a replacement machine and the replacement machine seems to be working for welding aluminum like it's supposed to so the original machine that was sent to me obviously was defective in some way shape or form internally the videos almost 40 minutes long I show you how to set it up and the results from the welding in aluminum any questions you can post them below

I bought the Mig 205DS, but ordered directly through YesWelder...not through Amazon. Machine arrived without any dents or dings, and no missing parts. My one complaint is getting to the drive wheel...they could have made the case about an inch wider to make access easier (so it looks like its a common feature on their various models). As it was, my wheel did not remove as easily as yours...mine was a struggle, and of course I cut my fingers on the damns case because there wasn't sufficient room. Other than that, the machine works just fine.
I also ordered straight from the company,it all ships from Amazon lol
I own 2 of these. They sent me a new one because of a small dent in the corner of first machine. Both machines weld great. They have never failed to feed aluminum or steel wire..The only complaint I have is loading wire is a pain due to the door design..I keep one set up for aluminum because its a pain to switch back and forth..however you can add a spool gun connector. The new ones actually come with it..but honestly if you are buying it you probably want to weld aluminum..you can weld steel with anything
I bought this just to weld aluminum, I have a Lincoln mig for steel that I've had for 30 years and only ever had to replace a few tips lol
I saw the new one uses a spool gun, honestly I probably would have been better off with a dual voltage machine and spool gun but the second machine did what I needed
I love how the video ends. I'm yelling at my screen "electrode negative, not positive!"
😂😂😂
This looks like a Bowden extruder on a 3D printer. What we normally do is cut the plastic hose at a 45 degree angle and allow it to come even close to the wheel without touching. The plastic filaments on the 3D printers have a similar issue where it may kink. By doing that, it prevents the wire or plastic filament from coming off the drive wheel. It is best if you can also add the tube in the side where you removed the metal spring tube if it fits. You want it as smooth as possible going in and out of that drive wheel. The most important part is to set the proper tension. You don't want too much tension and not enough where it slips on the drive wheel.
It probably is similar to the Bowden tube on my 3d printer
DO NOT CHANGE THE + & - THE MANUAL IS WRONG.
😂😂😂 yep
There is a Phillips head screw right under the black plastic piece that holds the spring guide... I have 2 of these one for steel one for aluminum and they both work great
It would be nice if the instructions said to undo a screw lol
Haha. So he broke the original machine and probably broke this one by yanking it out a second time. As soon as I saw the first video I knew it was operator error
I love mine.
Brother I feel that frustration with this machine!! Because I feel just like you I kinda Don't like it to much headache to weld aluminum I will just keep my tig aluminum welder machine !!
In the end it got the job done, what I was doing I couldn't tig the moch up I figured the mig torch would be easier to manuver than a spool gun in the areas I needed to get to fi moch up on a vehicle
I haven't used it since I did that project being 220 only is a real restriction for me too
Thanks for the video honestly the YES machine seems to be a pain in the rear just to change for aluminum I rather buy the Primeweld 180 MIG, STICK and it comes with a spool gun the machine has a 3-year warranty for $499.99.
New version of this machine also does spool gun, bought a few months to early I guess
it's funny that you bring that welder up cuz I'm actually trying to decide between the primewald mig 180 and the yes welder Mig 250. I already have the primewald tig 225 and the yeswelder Mig 205 and I'm happy with both of them. the primeweld coming with a spool gun already and it's ability to run off 110 as well as 220 is he really huge advantage. but the yeswelder is capable of putting out 250 amps instead of just 180 and if you plan on welding aluminum 180 amps is a little bit lacking
@Autodidatic Artisan I doubt that the 250 actually puts out 250 amps. Theres another fellow on YT bigb15 I think is the name. He hooks these yeswelders up to an auxiliary ammeter to get an actual reading. I haven't seen him test a Yeswelder that could output what it claims it can. Usually falls 20 to 30 percent short of the claimed output.
I'd do a bit of research first but the Primeweld would serve you better and so would the company IMO. The only gripe I have with Primewelds is that their MIG capable machines come with weird euro-style connections on the torches so you'd have to adapt the feeder to use more generic connectors. Only an issue if you have multiple different machines and you want to simplfy swapping the torches.
Edit: Just checked the MIG 180 and the description still says it comes with the euro connector but the picture doesn't show it anymore. It shows one a little more similar to Lincolns KXXX connectors
Not actually sure which you would get if you ordered it now.
@@autodidacticartisan I measured the actual amps and got a max of 210 and only one the aluminium settings.. all of th steel settings (including manual mode) maxxed at 180 amps.
I just realized the entire video never uploaded, all you missed at the end is me showing a weld done in synergy on aluminum and giving a final opinion
I watched the whole video for that final opinion. I really wanted to know if it welded any better.
@@bkpickell sorry yes the replacement did weld better the first unit was defective, also this is version 2 of this unit they have moved on to newer versions I believe
I bet you can buy a generic "teflon" tubing out of Amazon that will fit this machine. Any videos of this "new" machine welding?
You need to purchase a spool gun to weld aluminum with any success. Pushing aluminum wire thru 10 feet of liner does not work very well with ANY welder. You will have much better results with a spool gun. These welders are very capable welders but they have to be set up properly.
This was gen 2 of this welder I believe, they are in gen 3 now and I think it has a spool gun capability, unfortunately a spool gun would not reach in some areas of this project the way I had to fab and tack it together on the vehicle, the replacement welder worked much better then the original I purchased and the welds are holding just fine
The machine next to it. Is it a Tig 205?
Cut65 plasma
Never use a teflon liner. Go to the next size steel liner, .035 use a .045 steel liner. Teflon liners are junk.
Won't the steel liner contaminate the aluminum wire?
Yea always use a Teflon liner with aluminum. The steel is too harsh for the aluminum.
No vertical video!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ended up at this channel while trying to find content in this welder. Seems like videos on this channel were created with the intention of forcing full screen mode viewing. Cant even fast forward videos. Really annoying and couldn't deal with it.
Idk used a cell phone
