In the most respectful way possible, this is somewhat of a niche channel for niche content and I don't think anyone who is following you and watching your (truly great) content minds waiting for quality. P.S. Happy new year! Wishing you a good year man.
I tried to do the exact same thing as you did and once I saw the title and thumbnail I knew it. You’re doing a great service releasing this video. UA-cam can’t be an art unfortunately You had a good run and so did I
It's always bizarre to me seeing this same story again and again, creators on this platform expressing a sense of guilt or struggle or strife with some inability to maintain a 'schedule', but where, honestly, has anyone ever seen viewers that care remotely about the 'when', apart from concerns of death, I suppose. Especially when most of the time I only find out they HAD a schedule when they hit their breaking point and 'confess' to their failure to keep to this arbitrary code. If you have an audience, supportive, invested, and responsive to your earnest and heartfelt effort, they are here for YOU. They are subscribed to YOU. If you have an audience, loud, fishing for attention, and in droves, they are here for the content you would be slaving to make 'fun' and 'engaging', and they get here through algorithmic and automatic recommendation. Make what they want you to make and you will have your audience, make what you want to make and you will have a community. Those are my 5am sleep deprived thoughts anyway. Time will tell if I sound like a psychopath. Best of luck to you, have a happy and arty new year.
As somebody that spent over a decade developing a single game, against most conventional wisdom... I feel you; the balance between "art" and "product" is both very difficult, and very personal. As a regular viewer, I'm glad to hear you're choosing this path, I feel that it'll ultimately be beneficial to you, the art and your audience.
It's videos like this that scare me to even attempt making a proper channel. The problem I see with UA-cam is that they try and monetize EVERY single video by everyone which causes deadlines for people who didn't ask for it. It's like signing for a contract you had no involvement in and they didn't tell you the exact rules. It doesn't matter if "someone explained the rules to me" after the fact, you're still bound to something you had no say in. And if I want to start making money but I'm not getting the profits I want, that's my problem and I shouldn't be blamed for something I didn't choose to do. I feel like at some point UA-camrs are possibly going to make their own platform to make the videos they want with no strict deadlines or limitations. And if your video doesn't do well, then that's the decision of an actual human being instead of some mindless algorithm or soulless share holder.
Do what you've gotta do, mate. I've enjoyed the videos you've been putting out and I don't plan to stop watching. It's refreshing to see someone make it clear that their presentation isn't going to be completely hindered by trends, formatting for maximum algorithm detection, etc. Here's to another year of great work!
So many people have already commented how I feel: good for you man. Do your thing and let it make you happy. Very few of us get to do what we love. Even less can record it and share it in an awesome way and obtain a following. I'm subbed to you for the long haul, I like your style. Don't let the corporate overlords nor the faceless crowds demanding more free content ever control you.
Just leaving this comment here to say that I found your channel by complete coincidence just today, and it's fascinating to hear you say these things that immediately resonate within me. - I'm also in my 20s - I also have a small game analysis channel where I once had dreams of making it a bigger deal but now I just work on absurdly large projects and release them...whenever - I'm also into photography, filmmaking, and video editing - I also work in software development - The cherry on top, I notice you're a big R&C fan, and I myself just decided to go back and give the whole series a try just one week ago because of Rift Apart. Just wanted to point all that out cause it's bizarre how many things I found similar between you and me. Good luck with future video projects, I'm gonna sub and check them out.
When you drop a video, it’s usually an event. I actually expect sporadic and inconsistent uploads from a few people who I consider the best on this platform. It makes seeing the upload that much more exciting, because I know a lot of thought and care went into it (and… well… it’s rare). You are definitely one of the best despite having not that many uploads. Keep on keeping on, and do what you feel is best, Gamma. Happy New Year.
I've recently discovered your channel, and I instantly loved It. Your videos are made with passion and genuine interest in what you talk about. UA-cam needs to incentivate people like you, not the opposite!
I love this video. To me, it felt like an unfiltered motivational speech for those seeking to create art with passion and an aim to satisfy one's desires rather than those of an audience. I know you're talking about yourself and your own experience with making videos on UA-cam, but it just seems to resonate with me. Almost as if you're saying exactly what I always wanted to say to myself, but was too scared to try because there was the fear of an audience listening. I want to make videos to share thoughts, ideas, feelings and to create something artistic I can be fond of many years later, with no one and nothing having the power to stop me besides myself. One can't rush art, and pouring your heart into a project is what makes it special. Quality > quantity. Whether my words or my comment will have an impact or not, I can tell you that *your* words have had an impact on *me* and I am so glad this happened. Thank you for creating something special to me.

UA-cam
Woah, 30 seconds ago
@@ebengis hey!
UA-cam is a platform about entertainment, it never was about art. If you dont make it its because you’re not entertaining. Get over it.
yeah that's like... the whole point of the video
I disagree strongly
Bro he’s my bro it’s chill
@@RealM__ edit: I now agree firmly, I actually commented 31 seconds after the video dropped
@@VersionGamma damn thanks for the plug dude I really appreciate it
