I really loved this video. So natural and so easily delivered. I’m in the middle of a PhD on the subject of ‘human rewilding’ … a philosophical story about human movement in nature. Your story inspired me because one of the things I would like to do is live through the seasons during the writing process. Your set up is way more than I would need but I wondered if you would be open to having a conversation with me?

    Question
When taking used wood (ex: the barn wood), does it still need to be treated to avoid bugs, rottening, termites? I love what yall have done with the wood. It's beautiful. The home and location is so dreamy. I want to do something similar when I got my property. I know how to make it last. Thanks for your video! and jokes. Haha
Also, any specifics on the brand of the tent. It appears you just attached a second layer as a rain fly but in a larger scale. Thanks again!😁🏕

Very inspirational. Congrats on all the hard work.
I totally understand the $1600 a month rent as CA is similar to NYC.
Getting older, I’ve been leaning towards doing something similar...Cost effective, small, happy, sustainable living.
Was the cost of land a huge expense? Going from CA to NM, what do you do for work and do you notice you have more time for freedom, nature, & kids since you’re not so tied down to huge rent and expenses?
    Thanks!

Man, I´ve watched the video of your house in Living Big in a Tiny House channel a dozen times.. really love the project you and your wife have put for your childrens.. I have two children too of about same age difference as yours but younger, and the idea of going to nature is growing inside me every day.
I have just one question about the house if I may, do the walls are just plywood panels? or do you have some sort of exterior wall + insulation and the plywood is just the visible layer?
Thanks man and take care that beautiful family you have, cheers.

Congratulations!! You live my dream life!! I live near Geneva/Switzerland and the cheapest small-Shoe-box apartment cost $600k. The average monthly income is around $6000Chf, yet there no happiness. lots of depressions and Debts. We have to pay $600 dollars to a plumber to place a sink that already cost $400 dollars! A large pizza with a two class of red wine cost me around $60 dollars. not very sustainable! All the best,,

I noticed you’ve replied to a few people here but have not mentioned the brand of tent you used. I scrolled through all the comments, and yikes, a couple were not very supportive/ positive. But most of us love what you envisioned and created for your family. Would you please share with us the tent company you used? I come from the south with long, hot and humid summers, and I wonder about these structures in the heat. Even having lived up north, heating feels much easier to manage than cooling. Anyone got tips for this? I guess you could even put in a minisplit if you wanted to and had the power, but even if so, insulation may still be an issue.
