If you buy peppermint oil and mix it with water and inside and out it will keep mice away. Maybe grow peppermint around the base too. Mice hate peppermint it bothers them a lot!
Thanks for continuing to post videos and sharing updates, changes you make, and real life experience you acquire with your tent setup!! Always very helpful - and inspiring.
Hey@@mytwelveacres3071 - had to stop the build in early November before it was completely finished (rafter structure wasn't finished;) therefore the tent won't be up until April/May when the snow melts... Sent you an email with a time lapse video of some of the work, back in October; did you receive that email?
yeah but what about permits. My county says any shelter up more than six months becomes a structure and if it is bigger than 10 x 12 then said structure requires a permit. So you either take down a BIGGER shelter every six months - and set it up somewhere else on the property - or you...stay with 10 x 12 structures that are cabin-tents. thanks
In our area, anything larger than 12x12 needs a permit. Our setup is right at that threshold so no permits needed. If we were to go larger with a second tent, then we would have to get a permit. Thanks for watching!
The door, make it like a real door. I love my wall tent but hate the door.
That is an option that should be offered by all tent manufacturers! I personally like the ZIP. Thanks for watching!
Oh I'm so glad no snow here, just rainforest. Ive had roofs collapse on my face in the middle of the night in Washington so Yes TONS of rafters help.

Thanks. I’ll try that. And thanks for watching!
I second that recommendation. We've had issues with mice getting into our cars, and the peppermint oil has been the only thing that keeps them away.

Thanks again for watching! How is your tent setup going?

@@mnemonicmark I did receive your video. Thanks! I thought I replied to it. Looks like you had plenty of help. Good luck in the spring!
Amazing! Thanks 😉👍
What are the benefits of running the stove pipe through the wall instead of the ceiling? Great video!
I did a video on that very subject! Thanks for watching!

Thank you 🙏🏼
Your welcome. Thanks for watching!
Good advice, was looking at a 12 x 14 but maybe bigger is better? We probably look at taking the leap on our property on Vancouver Island.
We have a 14x16 Davis tent and it's a nice size.
Yes, I have a 20 ft wall tent and I tell you, space is necessary in winter😂
Make the 12x12 a guest tent and get a bigger one for yourselves. Your setup is nice.
If we did get another, that would be our plan. Thanks for watching!
invest in a metal kindling stand and 5 lb mallot, don't risk injury with that axe.
But I love my axe! Thanks for watching!

@@mytwelveacres3071wow, so sorry. I'm glad Hawaii doesn't consider tents permanent structures. Saves on taxes.
A second one and rent them out. I would stay there at least twice a year.
We have thought about that but haven’t made the decision yet. Thanks for watching!
