I don’t normally leave comments, but this video is awesome and thank you for opening my eyes to hip camp!… what an awesome idea to allow people that don’t normally have the means to get out to experience and off the grid situation…God bless you folks!!
Thanks Matt! I'm a fellow Californian that moved to Tennessee. I'm in software, but working on getting into the trades. Your videos have been very helpful.
That's a great question. @whiteduckoutdoors might be able to answer that. They have a chat feature on their website. And they're usually very responsive. We usually don't get a lot of snow out here in Tennessee. Snow load isn't something we usually think too much about.
@DuckRiverHomestead 2 more questions any issues with bugs, getting in overtime and any issues with mold or mildew as I have seen a few others talk about with this tent. I'm looking for a tent I can leave set up for 5 to 6 months during the camping season in the mountains of Virginia.
@@CapCityDCI keep a home bug sprayer that I spray around the edges and seams about once a month. I did have stink bugs get in and congregate at the top but that’s cause campers left the bottom of the door open for a week. I vacuumed them out and haven’t had any issues since. To help prevent mold buildup I keep the front screens open and about 4 or 5 of the windows about half open. We haven’t had any mold issues. I sort of anticipated mold issues, but hadn’t heard of these tents having issues. I just know that ventilation is REALLY important.
How close is the outhouse? Glampooper? Does it flush? How about showers? Hot water? I don’t even see a river to rinse my plastic camping dishes or one spork?
i am interested in knowing what floor you use under your wood stove.? that looks like what i need for ours or did you make it? Love the vinyl floor idea for your bell tent. I have looked at rugs for ours and also patio locking tiles but they both are very pricey and i would hate to carry everything around when going camping. we have a 16' bell tent from white duck as well. amazing quality of a tent we love it.
The flooring is 1st layer Advantech on 1" thick runners (wood decking) 2nd layer is a waterproof laminate. Under the stove is a wood stove pad I got from Tractor Supply: www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/imperial-type-2-stove-board-36-in-x-52-in-slate
I like is so much❤ I'm wandering is the material cotton or Oxford material? I would like to order one from internet but they said "we have Oxford D900 material". Do you recommend it? Thank you for sharing, keep going good videos like this one 👍🏻

Glad you enjoyed it! We love letting people enjoy nature around our property. :)
Thank you so much! Your place is beautiful.
Sweet tent . You mite want to extend your stove pipe above the ridge line so the smoke will not come in the roof vents.
Wow, I like❤❤❤❤
DUDE.. I LOVE WHAT YOU'RE DOING!

Great looking set up. Best I have seen
Thanks! I’ve done a couple improvements in the past year. I should do a 1 year review soon.
That's awesome!
Awsome Job .
Thanks!
It looks spacious, and the bed looks comfortable. Love the idea of a wood-burning stove, too. You might talk me into it, just not in winter.
When it’s in the 50s or 60s at night no fire is needed, but it’s really nice.
@@DuckRiverHomestead I think you just talked me into it. Are you booked up already?
Hoe groot is deze tent? Het ziet er prachtig uit! En van welk merk en waar gekocht? Wat is waterkolom wat die bij hevige regen tegen houd?
You want to put up a fire barrier in the back of the stove. (For the lack of a better term.) Protect the tent from burning and reflect the heat.
Reflecting the heat wouldn't be a bad idea, but I've measured the temperature of the fabric and it's only about 95˚ when the stove is going.
Absolutely beautiful flooring . Love it
Thanks so much!
You did an amazing job. I would have built a platform to keep it off the ground so when it rain it won't get flooded.
It's not in a flood zone fortunately. It's higher than its surroundings. However I definitely plan on building a platform at some time.
I love that music! Makes me laugh when I don't feel like laughing.
Makes me feel like a little kid. :)
Love this video!!
Thanks! We love the tent and so do our guests.
This is amazing thanks for showing the process. I'm doing the same in GA so this provides alot of guidance. Thank you!
Awesome! If I had time I would have built up a deck to put it on. I'll have to do that some time in the future, but it has been great either way.
Great video…good job! Peace and Blessings
Thank you Yvonne!
Love it! Great job guys
Thanks so much!
Dude if I was in TN I would come over and help u.
That would be awesome.
Great thanks! Just wondering about the trees. Any concerns with falling trees? Any advice about putting tent in a stand of trees.
Respect
How much snow can be on top of a canvas tents before there's risk of tearing?
Thanks.

Great Video. Love the flooring. We're doing the same thing in NC. Just bought our first White Duck..
Good luck!! I want to do one of the rectangular tents next time around to switch things up.
Great video, nice work. Does the rain not eventually drip into the tent around the stove vent pipe?
After almost a year, no it doesn’t.

Where are you located. I just bought one. Love it

HAHA. No running water yet, it's about 50 feet to the outhouse.

I got the fireplace pad from tractor supply. this is the time of year to buy them. It's a foam pad covered in metal. It works great.
Thanks for sharing the tip. I appreciate it
This is amazing! what is the stove standing on?
amzn.to/3wCh4F7 One of those
Can you explain the flooring and the tiles under the fireplace. I have a Teton 5m & 6m tents both with camp chef cylinder stoves
The flooring is
1st layer Advantech on 1" thick runners (wood decking)
2nd layer is a waterproof laminate.
Under the stove is a wood stove pad I got from Tractor Supply: www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/imperial-type-2-stove-board-36-in-x-52-in-slate
Placing the canvass directly pn the ground, and placing flooring over it, does it lend to any degrade of the canvassed flooring beneath?
It's not canvas on the ground. It's a plastic. We'll find out the long term effects. I plan on putting this on a deck at some point.
I like is so much❤
I'm wandering is the material cotton or Oxford material?
I would like to order one from internet but they said "we have Oxford D900 material".
Do you recommend it?
Thank you for sharing, keep going good videos like this one 👍🏻
I'm not familiar with the different material types. I got the waterproof version. They didn't have the oxford d900 info when I ordered.
How long will a tent like this hold up ?
I'm expecting about 5 years. I'm hopeful for longer.
In no possible way is this related to camping! Its merely a cottage,,cabin,,house made from canvas.
AKA Glamping. Whatever it is, we're here for it. You should try it out.
