I live in a van in Vancouver Bc Canada. I've been living 5 years in a van and I enjoy it. I plan eventually making a trailer that's going to be 6 feet by 12 feet. It will unfold to make a 12 feet by 12 feet tent with a small solar fridge, sofa, table, and 2 chairs. Living as cheap as can be.
Freedom. Isn't it great that you can move somewhere out of reach of government control? No permits, no taxes. Build what you want and live how you want. Bet you won't do it though.
God bless you my friend!! I too have seen the light and became a camper and wake up to such beautiful. My world is so beautiful now being in the wilderness with God's creatures. I am so mad at myself I didn't do this years ago!!
Love this! I am trying to save up for an acre or 2 of land. I have been living in a 20’ by 10’ foot tent for almost 2 years. Luckily, I am in the basement (unfinished basement) so I have everything in my tent home, that anyone with a house does. I have watched your video before, back when I started living like this. You really have an amazing setup! Hugs from Georgia!
Because of the snow load in winter, a A-Frame cabin is the way to go. Use 2x6 rafters attached to your deck.Make them long enough so that you can have a sleeping loft. At least 24' long. Let them extend below deck to create a storage space. Simple to make. Use the deck you got for now and add on later.
Ummm. You have a great point but, snow load in her situation is basically irrelevant. She must remove her tent for a specific time every year. Winter is THE perfect time. And... She stated that specific point in the video.
Not sure if you’ve ever tried a Mylar blanket. This the best in cold weather. Use it alone or with a blanket. My family didn’t believe in having the heat too high. I put automobile windshield reflectors under me and a Mylar over. You literally sweat. I love it.
Thank you for sharing your awesome home! I live in a tiny house, but am looking to move it to a 'glamping site' with an aux tent like yours. They're pretty amazing, and in the southeast, perfectly realistic ways to stay cool in the shade without air conditioning (I'm off-grid, so always looking for ways to stay cool).
I think it's cool what your doing I've been living in a tent for over a year now now that I really want to but I have no choice but it's all I have so I have much love for you !!😊
Love your little bear and cute teapot! I noticed the color of the chairs on the porch match the rosemaling...very nice...the tent set-up looks so cozy and fun. You’ve done a nice job!!!
Miss Tammy looks like yall are having a good time living in the tent this summer! I sure would one of these days coming up and seeing yalls place and visit y'all. My uncle lives in Colorado Springs and I'm going to visit him!
Great video! I’m looking to do the same. Spend summers in Wyoming where there aren’t as many rules and regs. I’ll build a platform and a cooking area. I’d like to have power but if not I’ll figure it out. Two more years till retirement!
Hi SpiritForest, glad to see that you are off and going for the summer. I also have a goal zero and you are correct about it . It's great for the devices but not for a laptop. Great set up . Looking forward to your adventures. I acquired a JASTEK power supply to see if it's better for the laptop. 300 W. It should be. Will let you know.
If I not have the interest of outdoor tent life, now I got! I'm very impressed by seeing your video here from DK. 🇩🇰🇩🇰 So my dog and I'll need to buy a tent and enjoy the silence and be one like the nature.🐕 😌🙌🏼 - Thank you, for eye opener.🏕🏕😯🙏🏼
Look into getting a Big Berky ... we have one and swear by it. It’s really great, filters any water making it potable. It’d even filter your collected water so you could drink it as well.
I just "discovered" you yesterday and subcribed! I love watching your videos. I don't need to see someone start another fire with a ferro rod striker. It sounds like you live west of Denver. I live downtown and go camping at every chance. You look very familiar. A friend had a yurt down in Park County and it's true, the laws forced her to sell it since it was only our occasional weekend getaway and not full time residence. Thank you!!!
God this is so good to hear; both about the tent but overall that you manage to do this while working. I recently paid off some property and am in the position you describe exactly, and I hope to follow suite soon
Part of your deck (tent floor) is high off the ground. If it was me I would build a lockable sealed storage compartment so you can put things in it when your not there to save lugging things back and forth. I notice the fire extinguisher has a plastic top. Many extinguishers with the plastic top have been recalled. You may want to see if yours has been and when you buy an other one buy one with a metal top. ;) Nothing worse then needing to put out a fire and the extinguisher is no good.
New subbie from Georgia. Had to immediately subscribe, you are a complete sweetheart and i cant wait to see more. My log home is full of bears!! I live in the woods but its extremely close to our country town. Im 67 so i have to be close to my doctors and hubby does too. 🤗
This is Awesome, you are living the Dream in the Serene, and you love Bears! I've always liked Bears the most, and I'm looking to live towards off-grid. So Thank you for your video, and intel into Canvas tent living.
Fantastic setup. Very inspiring. I think we have similar laws here in the uk preventing year round camping but I'd have to check. I would love to do what you have done there. Many thanks for posting this.
I love your tent, it looks cozy! I'm in NH and they also have those laws. I'm searching for land myself and keep running into the same issues. No mobile homes, no tiny homes etc... it's frustrating but at some point I'll find my little piece of this earth!
Hi have you ever thought about making a partnership with a group of 2-4 maybe more very like minded people to purchase 100 acres of unrestricted land that could even be divided at any point? Just curious?
I feel inspired by what you have done on your property. A old friend of mine from Jr high has some land at a place called Lakes of the North that has a lot of the same restrictions you have mentioned in this video. Their land is SUPER cheap!! I have thought of getting some land out there myself. After watching your video I'm feeling like looking into it a bit more.
Great way to enjoy Colorado Living, being raised in Colorado I always love people that find ways to enjoy the mountains. Love the idea of have a tent set up for part of the year.
YAY!!! Home tour! No yurts...municipalities are funny about dwellings. Bummer. Can't wait to get to the mountains next Month! The temps are SO much better. ;-) LOVE the new bear!!! Cookies!!!! Ha! I would have done the same thing! Thanks for the tour!
Your video popped up in my newsfeed, so I’m now a new sub👋🏽😁. First I ❤️ your dog he/she is gorgeous 🐶💕. And I enjoyed your tour..... it looks so nice and tranquil out there and I just love your place!!!! Looking forward to others!!
Hello from Massachusetts new sub here i found your channel and i had to subscribe and thank you for the tour and showing the usb headlight i need 6 of those before we head camping next week. Please stay safe and looking forward to your videos 😄
Just found your most awesome channel today! Not sure if you have a bear box or not for your food yet, but if so that's where I would put my sleeping bag. I would definitely have some type of locking mechanism to make it hard for a thief. There are many people that use the tool boxes that go on utility trucks as a make shift bear box. It is water proof and has built in locks.
You might want to look into a thermoelectric generator that would sit on top of your stove. They produce enough watts to recharge your batteries. Check out tegmart.com
So glad I came across this by accident. I live in a house I bought near Sequim, WA, and I'm allowed up to a 700 sf guest house. Thinking of building a platform and buying a canvas tent. Waiting to see if you show what the tent is like a tight with a fire in the wood stove. If not, that sure would be a treat (hint, hint). Neat-o!! I've fantasized of glamping for a while. I want to live like this! My Inuit cousins spend every summer in canvas tents at fish camp.
Hello I just wanted to tell you about this gravity fed water filtration unit I bought because the well water where I live (very rurally) is so nasty. It smells and it has alot of iron and minerals in it. I bought this unit called Alexapure and this thing is fantastic! It takes up next to no space and is self dispensing. I have been using it for two and half years and this thing has performed like a champ. There are different sizes and I bought the medium sized unit which filtrates the 2 1/2 gallons it holds in about an hour. I really like the thing. It's easy to clean and looks nice sitting out for easy access. The water tastes great from it. Check it out maybe it'll work well for your situation also!!!
Buy or finance a shed / barn. They are very sturdy and you can convert it into a tiny home for only a few grand. Some of them even come with lofts and porches!
you can get a spark resister cap for the top of your stove pipe top , it greatly inmproves the chance of no fire but nothing is 100 %, love your videos
Gold zero 700 lIghning charge, I travel in California for about couple months and when I drive it charges up in an hour and it lasts for like a week so it’s way worth it. I had a little one like that too. I was always charging it and I had a boulder 100 and that was too heavy and big, but that’s about a two hour charge in the sun.
So cool... When you cook with an open flame, it’s good to keep a large, rung-out wet towel nearby to quickly cover any possible fire as a precaution. It’s good to have a dual-use headlamp flashlight. They also have baseball caps w/ press-button lights on them. Keep a 55-gallon water barrel w/ a pump & filtration for emergencies.
Hi! Just a thought, you can also use your car battery with a small converter that plugs into your cigarette lighter. Just start your car once in a while to charge the battery.
Hey Tammy thank you for sharing.. I don’t know how pricey solar panels are BUT that would be my next investment. And I know people who have car batteries to store energy, you may want to investigate that avenue. Wanting for next video. Thank you From Craig. Pa. Guy
I know I'm late to the dance, but I think your whole arrangement perfect. Bummer about the restrictions. I've forwarded this video to some friends who have the property and desire to live an alternative style like this.
Awesome setup. I really love it and its so neat and organized. Love your stove too. Thanks for showing us. I wish I could find a place like that here in Texas.
Look for land in higher elevations whichever state you choose. Flatlands & valleys will surely suffer in flash flooding. Be alert to what the residents around you have had to deal with in the past & do things to be prepared for emergencies or you are more likely to suffer.
Will they allow you to put a fifth wheel on your property?? While your building your cabin? You can actually live in it year around even during snow season, would love to by property and make it home your blessed,,
Love that tent! I am glad I am not the only one who goes to the store for a specific item and come out with something else, LOL! Have you ever seen a camera backpack for you cameras?
Love !Love! Love ! your cozy little tent, will you live there eventually! Nothing like being in the wilderness, so good for the soul! how about a small generator for charging your goal zero, maybe a lamp, but don’t want to make it to much like home will take away from the ambiance! just a suggestion!😃
Water catchment under your tent eaves will give you the water you need. You can dig it into the ground so it is not visible. Then use a filter to clean the water.
I have a small portable battery for my tablet/mobile phone which lasts quite well. If your cameras have similar battery charging access points one could be useful on a day's walk.
Laws can be so weird sometimes. Our town doesn't allow for tiny homes. I was told they were worried people would try to live in sheds. But a she shed is totally ok if there's already a dwelling. I'm curious to see though if some of your comments could possibly work as a way around some of these laws. Totally loving the tent tho!
Tiny Homes are mainly regulated cause they were angry people found a happy alternative to buying over priced homes. In Arizona there was a decrease in property values in certain areas and O boy can't have that.
Howdy Tammy. Thanx for sharing, the tour of your summer home. We're in the same boat, here in the San Juans. Two hours of rain, in the last three months. Looking forward to the monsoons. LOL, you went in for water, and came out with cookies....what kind? :)
Just back from Yellowstone Parks tour missed the last two week of your posts, Glad you're settled in a Spirit Forest. I past through Denver on Amtrak. I was waving to you. Guess you didn't see me. lol I now have to catch up with your posts for the next few days.

Laws. Isn't it great that a few politicians get to decide what we the people can do on our own land. Isn't freedom grand. Anyway, this looks amazing.
Laws that actually protect people from themselves
Freedom. Isn't it great that you can move somewhere out of reach of government control? No permits, no taxes. Build what you want and live how you want. Bet you won't do it though.
Dude...
@@MakeCriminalsIllegalAgainpeople say that sometimes. But whenever I look for it there is nothing of the sort.
Freedom huh?
Looks clean and tidy, and well equipped It hardly seems like a tent at all, it just looks like an amazingly cozy getaway.
Gotta love the laws that "protect us" 😠
Uh, yeeeah, right!

That's beautiful I love tents I've been thinking about getting one of these

I agree you can turn your tent platform in a cabin, and work on until your done and then pull your tent out.

I love the mountains and fishing!
