Your truck will shift like you never thought possible: Offering custom tuning for 2003, 2004, 2004.5, 2005, 2006 and 2007 3rd gen 5.9 Cummins trucks with a 48RE transmission. The 48RE is FULLY tunable and will shift far better than stock with this tuning. I adjust parameters for the 48RE that no other tuning platform has access to. I can provide mpg tunes, tow tunes, and mild performance tunes. You will get a raised 1st to 2nd gear shift, torque converter lockup in 3rd which will hold to a properly raised locked 4th gear overdrive shift. Also the tow haul button will lock out overdrive altogether. Contact me with any questions about your specific transmission and engine tuning needs.

Well I can say is wow, what a difference your tunes have made. I purchased the full tune package and I am loving each tune. I tow a 34ft fifth wheel and it is a night and day difference from when I first towed the trailer completely stock to using the tow tunes from Rob. Transmission stayed in the 180 range heading through Vegas from Southern Cal. The coolant temps did reach 215 but not for too long. It was about 100 or so outside Vegas, plus wind factor of 20-30 mph. The tune is an absolute must for people towing. The 12V 90 HP tune I absolutely love. What a diesel should sound like, loud and obnoxious - it's my favorite tune. All in all, the money you spend on the tunes and tuner is well worth it. The truck is completely different, I love the lock up and especially the get it up and go that it now has.

Wanted to give a shout out for an amazing experience using Rob Duggan aka Diesel Camper on UA-cam!! Emailed Rob my stock file and pics of a bunch of barcodes and serial #’s under the hood. He promptly responded with an amazing tow tune. I have an 04’ completely stock automatic Cummins. I can now tow my 12000# camper through mountain passes with complete control of the tranny ( as if I have a manual tranny haha) on flat ground I’m getting around 14 MPG (Towing 12K). Can’t wait to try my MPG tune next !!
Edward Haynes you need to contact Rob for the tunes. A-1 transmission shop experts did not put GM parts in my custom built 48re which tows a 14k 39' fiver.
I’ve been running Rob’s customs tunes and 48re tune on my 06 Cummins for over a year now. I have 156k miles on my stock 48re. With his tunes, my 48re came back to life, no more stutter shifting. I don’t hot rod my truck at all. You won’t regret buying his product. I will say my biggest regret is going with the MM3 instead of his 6 position switch. But oh well. I just tune the truck to what I want and remove the tuner.
Ok wanted to give a huge shoutout to Rob. I purchased all 3 tunes and have been running them for about a week and have a few hundred miles on each one. These have been the best purchase i have made to my truck. I will be a future customer for sure.
Amazing tune for the 48re ... Why couldn't Dodge do this from the factory?¿? I installed the tune a few days ago and can without a doubt say this has changed the dynamics of how the truck shifts. I have a 2006 MegaCab, 4x4 SLT and she's a heavy girl. The stock transmission programming would get her into 4th gear to quick and would cause the engine to lug the mass of this rig around. The new tune is simply wonderful and should extend the life of the transmission as it will keep the fluids cooler by eliminating the slip that was present before. If your looking for a legit tune this is the total package.... Best $$ I've spent on my truck to date! I'll probably get the 12v tune next so I can relive the days of my 2nd gen 😎

Your Truck is really AWESOME! It looks like you have done a lot of homework and research in order it get it to shift and perform that well. Great job! I am purchasing a stock2005 Dodge 2500 5.9 this weekend and i am sure this should be the first upgrade that i should do. I will differently need a tune for towing a 8500 lb. trailer as well as a everyday around town tune. Like all your videos... Keep up the great work.

Currently about to buy a low mile 5.9cr with a 48re. This will be one of the first things I put on the truck. I want a long service life and a happy motor and transmission. Also what you offer is pretty sweet!

What do you consider to be low miles ? I’m from AUS and they ain’t as common here. I’m looking to buy one for a work truck carrying tools around as a diesel mechanic
I would say under 100,000. Under 200,000 is still great but the higher you get the more you may have to fix.
What do you mean by “the more you may have to fix”? Please clarify.
Higher mileage vehicles usually are due for more replacement parts.
Just gonna say my experience with Rob D and using all 3 of his tunes that I purchased has been spectacular! The mpg tune has really helped a lot now I’m getting around 17 mpg in a dually! Tow tune makes towing around my 21’ boat a breeze. I also got the 12 valve (single injection) tune and it sounds sooo good. If your looking for custom tuning for your smarty touch I would definitely consider purchasing tunes from Rob D...I love mine.

I'll be sending you a text directly, I hope you receive it. My truck is the 03 and seems pretty good now but have had major issues on shift points in the past. Studder shift fixed but occasionally shifts very hard or on occasion it forgets to shift into overdrive

I have an 04 ram that doesn't shift into 4th unless the truck is hot, and under 35mph. Tuning issue? We believe it has a tune due to an oversized turbo installed before I purchased it

Much transmission in my 05 when I let off the gas it keeps pulling some extra brake that installs the motor out and don't slip and when I take off it jumps right into like 450 gear this is like shift through the gears fast and lugs the motor down have any idea what that may be
Question. I have a 2004.5 325 hp motor. Transmission does have the kickdown cable. I added the tQ converter lockup switch and it locks great under half throttle. Anything over half throttle the converter lockup disengages. The trans has been built with better input and output shafts and a triple disk converter.
I wired the tQ switch to ground with the 33ohm resistor and it doesn't go into limp mode so I'm good there.
My question is: I didn't bypass the transmission relay so could the pcm be disengaging the relay to the positive side of the lockup circuit at half throttle? Is the lockup a pwm circuit or just a straight 5v?
I know that you're thinking that the torque converter us just slipping but no matter how much or little rpms or how much or little boost, it unlocks at half throttle with the tQ switch on. I'm 100% sure that the converter can handle the power so that's why I'm thinking that it's on the pcm side. Could jumping the relay fix the problem? Thanks
Hello I have a 2004.5 3500 my transmission shifts fine on a regular take off but when I want to pass up somebody who feels like it slips. I have a manual lockup switch when I turn it on it feels strong with power. With this programmer fix my problem

This programming will make your transmission far more drivable and probably the best upgrade you can do with your truck, but if you have a physical problem like worn clutches it can't fix that. Shoot me an email robd@mm3tuning.com if you're interested in getting tuning.
@diesel camper Is it necessary or if any additional value to customize a tune for Rocky moutain passes while towing? Example the Ike pass or monarch pass which both have 7-8% grades topping off at over 11,000 feet?
Great job ... How much do you know about the smarty jr when I have my tune on 100 hp and pod on 90 it takes forever to shift but then I have it on 75 and it seems I have to lift my foot to shift is that a trans problem or I need to update my jr thanks again.
That's because the POD simply remaps the fuel pedal, so that causes shifting problems because the engine and trans tune need to match to work properly.
Ok so backing off the nut and tightening the t40 to 72 in lbs sets the appropriate tension, then back off X amount of turns based on your engine / transmission model ?
Mine has a slight slip just before 2nd gear.
So I climbed under the truck and under the years of mud I was able to uncover the band adjustment. Looks like it's never been done.

I’m curious about the single injection event and the benefits. Can you explain please?
A single injection tune eliminates the pre and post injections and injects all of the fuel in one big shot. The benefits are less wear on your injectors and some people say mpg gains but I have found it to be about equal. It also sounds a lot more like a traditional diesel. The downside is more cylinder pressure, but I haven't run into any issues and I've been driving that tune for a couple of years now.

None yet and it's been a while. If anything I think it will make the trans last longer.

You would need to upgrade to a touch or MM3 for me to help you. The touch comes with tunes but none that address any transmission parameters. The MM3 is a little cheaper but REQUIRES you to get your tune from a custom tuner, like me....
I should add the touch can also accept customer tunes just to be clear.

You still have trans tuning available and actually you can go to an 04.5 or 05 ECM if you want to gain on the fly tuning.
