    Glad to see you used this idea :)
    You can save A LOT of resin if you hollow the bowl out beforehand, and add an inner rim to your mold, so you actually only add to the edge.
    Edit: you can sprinkle sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) on CA glue to make it instantly set and form a tough material that can be sanded.
    Cheers!

    The honey comb is a very interesting look. I could see it being used in many different ways. Perhaps along the lip edge of the bowl, laid horizontally so the honey comb edge is seen on the side of the bowl, and the hexagon sides of the honey comb seen as you look down on the bowl?

    • @PohlBarnProductions
      @PohlBarnProductions  4 роки тому

      Thank You, Yes I thought horizontally also then thought that might just trap air, that stuff isn't cheap so I did not do it.

    • @ravenrock541
      @ravenrock541 4 роки тому

      @@PohlBarnProductions There are two things you can do to seriously reduce air bubbles (in my opinion). One is to coat the objects before your pour. What I mean is if you have sea shells (of walnuts shells, pistachios, or any other objects for example) then add them to your resin in a bowl, and mix them up manually. Then place them for your project and begin your pour. By giving the seashells a coating your are creating a wet boundary layer that will (hopefully) let the air bubble roll out of it's cavity, surface tension will give the epoxy the inclination to fill that cavity. The second thing that would help is a vacuum. The exact opposite of a pressure pot, for only a few minutes pull a vacuum. The air bubbles will grow in size due to low pressure, and thus will maybe make their way out of the cavity that is trapping them. When you restore normal pressure (or pressurize) whatever air bubbles are left will be reduced in size. Just my opinion, of course. Keep up the good vids. I really enjoy when you educate us about why you do things, this subject is fascinating to me.
