A good used Titan XD gas is actually getting harder and harder to find for sale. I sold a 2016 P4X about 6 months ago. It was beautiful. I’m starting to second guess myself.

Love my 2016 Pro4X diesel. If I were looking to do it all over again I would buy a Nissan. No issues after 70,000 miles. As mentioned on this video, it really drives on the highway like a dream even though it is a heavier duty truck compared to the half tons. This truck delivers on durability, reliability and comfort.

Great review! Just picked up a 21 xd platinum reserve after a 2012 tundra. It’s not a fair comparison because the sticker price had a 30k difference but I was happy with my tundra and so far happy with the Titan. Tows my 30ft travel trailer like a dream. And the small tank is annoying but my kids need to stop every couple hours anyway.

By far my favorite truck on the market! I think Nissan has not marketed it very well. I've driven one before and I was shocked that yes it feels more like a truck but not harsh by any means. It actually feels more truck-like and yet refined and solid than any other truck I've driven.
My biggest gripe is one of yours which is the fuel tank size just does not make any sense!! I wonder how many buyers they have lost due to just that and it would be such a simple fix. Come on Nissan if you're listening literally thousands of people have the same complaint! Nice overview though thank you

Great video. I've always liked Nissan. My Dad had a 1972 Datsun pickup and it was a great truck. If I hadn't bought a 2021 Tundra TRD Pro I would definitely consider the 2022 Nissan Pro4X. The 2022 Tundra is already having waste gate problems that require a full cab off frame to repair.

The XD has so many components from the next higher duty class of trucks on it , they will still drive around when we are all living in mad Max or Hunger Games.
When I test drove it, it was too big for me as a daily driver, so I bought 2023 Armada (base "S", 4WD) with the same engine.
The Armada has the same 26 gallon fuel tank but for me I feel that is plenty in the armada.
For many years the Tundra , while everyone was singing it's priases also "only" had a 26 gallon fuel tank. And reviewers never said "Boo" about that, despite same or worse fuel economy.
The Sequoia until recently also had 26 gallon fuel tank and is less efficient than my Armada.
An XD has a lot more substance so it, so itll use more fuel.
But that weight comes from all the heavy duty components that are way more than a 1500 class truck usually has.

@@kedrevs4037 Well I don’t think most people really think about that much since most of the manufacturers have moved on to larger 32+ gallon tanks. For some odd reason Nissan decided to stick a tiny 26 gallon tank on the XD. I can see the 26 gallon tank on the regular Titan but with the XD and it’s larger everything there is no reason they could not fit a 42 gallon tank in there. I mean honestly I was really considering it and then saw this video and it was such a let down to see the small tank. This goes under one of those “what were they thinking” kind of things. That Nissan 5.6 L V8 does have some long-term issues that are expensive to repair. Exhaust manifold is going to fail and it is known to have some oil leaks and timing chain issues, in the newest version hopefully those have been resolved. With that said, if you can get past that overall it is a great motor.

Those "issues" were fixed in 2009 14 years ago... Except for the manifolds they been only improved and are now as durable as all other modern V8s.
But no modern V8 has the nice thick manifolds of yore, blame EPA, this of for quickly heating up to help emissions.
Cant get around that in a modern V8.
But unlike the rest Nissan offers a 5yr 100,000 mile warranty for these trucks
      Bumper-toBumper,... no one else does,.
I researched this truck a LOT since i was going to buy it myself but then I realized I dont need anything that large and got a 2023 Armada with the same engine.
And this is one of the most durable Gas V8s made by anyone on the planet.

DI and the wide turning radius is the main reason I won’t buy a Titan. Otherwise, it’s a solid truck.

Many people are running oil catch cans due to DI.
The radius is indeed huge but it means the wheelbase is also big - good for towing. I drive my XD in the city - never had a problem with the radius but always a problem with height to enter underground parking facilities.

I'd take the Titan over the current Tundra if I was buying new. But a late 2nd gen Tundra is still my top pick. Admittedly, I am biased.

You're making a mistake but everyone is already making that point for me. That's if you're going to upgrade. As a Toyota fan, the new gen is absolutely trash and ridiculously overpriced. Toyota should delete some of the trims of their Tundra. Capstone, TRD Pro, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 are all but redundant and overpriced at around 65-85k. Insane.

All this towing talk but 99% of all halfton pickups on the road are used as commuters and grocery runs. Those that do tow with a purpose, buys 3/4 trucks. The titan xd was a mistake. Either make a 3/4 or don't, the titan xd is a half-ass 3/4ton that no one wants.

I understand your point, and don’t entirely disagree. Still, don’t know why this mantra of only HD trucks are used to do work or haul got started. It is simply inaccurate.
Most half tons are more than well equipped for towing of 8K lbs and less.
