For those who are stuck on this glitch, the easiest way I’ve found was (I did this on mods btw) first killing the dragon you came with. Then using bend will on the other dragons to kill them. You don’t need to fight Miraak, just make sure those three dragons die first then start killing Miraak. Hopefully I’ve made this easier for you, GO ON DOVAH 🖤
on my very first run through i did my best to keep it glitchless, not using exploits and what not. when i finally got to him this happened to me. after about an hour of constantly reloading and trying i went screw this ill try again tomorrow. its kinda ironic that the next day that entire character save was corrupted
The bug happens if you do too much damage to him. Miraak is supposed to disappear after receiving a set amount of damage, that is then fully healed by the consumption of the dragon soul. Usually happens if you’re too high a level. If you crouch behind a pillar until you’re hidden, his out of combat regeneration should kick in and you can go on with the fight.
I Fought Miraak as my Dunmer Battlemage Lazerithe wearing the Konahrik Mask and the Archmage Robes along with Double Enchanted Rings of Power and Daedric Gauntlets and Boots. I Withered him down with Lightning Storm from a distance while my Two Daedric Bodyguards Chased him down all while I'm screaming "Unlimited Poooweeerr!!" 😅 It was pretty fun and Miraak didn't stand a chance 😏
Had this same thing happen to me on my last play through. Lvl 200 something when I finally decided to fight Miraak and maxed out on everything but speech, lockpicking, and pickpocketing. Took me like 10 reloads to finally realize I was beating him too fast. Then I decided to just punch him to death. It worked, and I was finally freed from this mediocre boss fight.
If I learned how to make a mod in Skyrim, I'd make an overhaul mod for Miraak, giving him alot more health, making him do alot more damage, (well actually it would be part of a combat mod), and would give him custom phases and attack animations, which with the mod I'd make, you'd be able to unlock a dodge ability, so basically a Dark Souls combat mod for Skyrim. His first phase, he'd only use his sword, and would look normal and stuff, not using that dragon shout. In the second phase, he'd use his staff and his sword. Same as first, not using the shout to have the cool glowy armor boost thing In the third phase, he'd use his shout, and would go all out. Instead of using his sword and staff, he'd switch over to using master level magic, and would use shouts, and would also be able to summon clones of himself which would die in 5 hits, no matter what weapon, and they wouldn't have the shout active, nor would they use shouts, and would use adept level spells. I think its a cool idea, and would make Miraak into the boss he should have been.
Ironically I did this quest just yesterday and after doing some things on the mainland, I’ve decided to take a break from Skyrim to figure out between Dawnguard and Dark Brotherhood what I want to do. I don’t like taking them on at the same time, but I hated going back and forth and exchanging outfits and weapons.
So ... Miraak tells the Dragonborn, "You should not have come here." At 6:04 in the video. I know this is just a video game, but logically speaking ... what the hell did Miraak expect after he sent some of his cultists to kill the Dragonborn? What, is Skyrim like Las Vegas? "What happens in Los Vegas stays in Los Vegas." If someone sends cultists to kill me, The lives of the cultists are automatically forfeit ... the same goes for the one who sent them in the first place. "If you won't bring the fight to me yourself, I will bring the fight to you myself - and that is the very LAST thing you EVER want me to do."
@@AhmadWahelsa Sadly, just because 'it just works' does not necessarily mean that something that 'just works' does not mean it makes any real sense at all. It does not, nor will it ever. I am not trying to argue with you or attack you or anything - heavens, no. What I am trying to say is ... *WHOEVER ADDED THAT LINE FOR MIRAAK IS AN IDIOT.* They could have left that line out, and they most definitely should have. The reason I say that is ... Miraak had desired to absorbed the soul of the Dragonborn so that Miraak could (EDIT: return to) Solstheim. In order for Miraak to be able to absorb the soul of the Dragonborn, the Dragonborn would have to be in Apocrypha for that to happen. While Miraak can actually travel between Tamriel and Solstheim, he can only to it temporarily ... and in an incorporeal state. With Miraak being incorporeal, he cannot be harmed by any means ... he cannot harm or even kill the Dragonborn for that matter. What this means is that Miraak knows that the Dragonborn HAS to go to Apocrypha, and for the sake of the player in question being able to experience the Dragonborn DLC quest line, the player will want the Dragonborn to go to Apocrypha, find Miraak and kick his ass. Logically, the Dragonborn would want to. The Dragonborn survives a murder attempt and finds a note that insults him. Miraak knew that a fight between the two Dragonborn will happen, one way or another ... sooner or later. If one battle-hardened and battle-ready Nord called another battle-hardened and battle-ready Nord a 'milk-drinker' there would be a fight, because getting called a 'milk-drinker' is a verbal slap-in-the-face - which is not all too different than being called a coward or weakling ... or worse. Surviving a murder attempt by cultists ordered by the same person that refers to this Dragonborn as 'False' is no different than calling the Dragonborn a fake or a fraud. That is more along the lines of a verbal punch to the mouth, nobody lets that go - unless they actually are a coward, weakling, fake and a fraud. However, such is not true about this Dragonborn. No. A verbal (despite it being written on paper) punch the mouth like that is way more than just personal. To fight is the nature of a warrior. "You want a fight? You want a war? You got one. Ask and thou shall receiveth." Whoever added the "You should have not come here." line to Miraak had this dumbass mentality of "I will just add that line to the available dialogue of all hostile character that can talk." It is so damn stupid, if you ask me. I just hope ALDUIN does not say anything like, "You should not have come here." Or ... "Never should've come here." If the Dragonborn could speak with profane words, it would go a little something like this ... "Bitch, do you want my soul or not? Make up your damn mind, asshole!" I watched a video where a Thalmor Soldier says, "That's close enough." then immediately says "Come here. Let me see your face." The stupidity is .. JUST. SO. STUPID. I can understand some weird things that a player might see while playing Skyrim, when it comes to bugs and graphic mistakes or sloppiness because with a large open world like Skyrim - that kind of thing is bound to happen. Fallout 4 is a good example of that, even though the world in Fallout 4 looks relatively smaller in comparison. But sloppiness when it comes to the dialogue in Skyrim? That is a LOT LESS UNDERSTANDABLE ... if you ask me.
"Never should've come here" is a line that every NPC in the game has. It doesn't mean that you literally shouldn't go anywhere in Skyrim - hostiles will tell you it in highly populated cities. It is a taunt. Like "You fucked up."
So I had this happen only when I modded and used an unlimited shouts mod (before I was reminded you can just stack Amulet of Talos’) no matter how many retries, he kept breaking. But upon exiting and disabling the mod he finally got tentacled.. 😂

It also would have been cool if you could have been able to express doubt about it, like: "Maybe I'm not the dragonborn, what if it is Miraak?" and to even have a conversation about it. So many missed opportunities but also they could only have added so much.
Well, let's be honest here. It's a DLC, so it wouldn't make sense for it to intertwine with the main quest like that, but that is quite insightful.
During one main quest you can talk to Herma Mora after "Discerning The Transmundane". His voice lines change depending on if you defeated Miraak already or not but he will only appear if you already met him at least once
“Have I ever told you the definition of Insanity”
The fight bugging halfway through. The perfect immersive Skyrim experience
I mean it would be putting a hat on a hat... But stahlrim +25% chaos bonus with an extra boosted firery souls/ super boost with another frost enchant is so much more sexy
This is the epitome of stop stop he's already dead
Yeah the ethereal glitch happened to me also I just had to wait it out
At around level 40 I defeated Miraak pretty easily just by using the Vampire Lord ability lol

@@Noble1200 yeah I probably should've fought him a lot earlier, I spent too much time doing random side quests lol
Man, just started a new play through recently, only done the some of the Mage guild quest line and some side quest/locations markers and already level 32. Granted did some grinding on my alteration and illusion for the perk points
It’s an open world game guys… you can do whatever you want before completing this questline.
@@Tabth3778 bro that guy sounds so lame, I’m level 42 and only just met Delphine
Woodcutters axe: I’m just happy to be here.
He gets scared at that point and just stays like that out of fear because he knows that your basically a god
It’s amazing that he actually had the patience to make this into an epic battle instead of just sneak one-shot-killing him like I did. 😅
Doesn’t get much more Skyrim than this boss battle XD
Beat him on expert at level 27 or so, but jesus christ it was the buggiest fight I've ever seen. The amount of times I had to use ressurect cause he wouldn't leave his ethereal state, how I had to kill the dragons faster to force him to absorb their souls... The questline was interesting but the boss fight really ruined it for me.
I think that after absorbing a dragon soul, Miraak should be at full health. But you're doing too much damage so when he regen he's not at full health so it bugs
it's been like that since forever, i had to swapped to a random sword the dragon dropped because my setup one shot him even at lv 150+ and he would remain invulnerable
Ya you can't have a weapon with more then 200 I found when playing anything above that bugs the game
Miraak : *throw whatever the shit he have*
Dragonborn : Just a scratch.
The dedication to this Skyrim character, only you and a few others can say they are masters of Skyrim
For those who didn't realize, the game kept bugging when mirrak went to the center to heal his ai and hitbox stopped working for some reason, only happened to me the first time i tried to fight him.
“return to solesthiem” yes the place with like 2 villages.
i know it'd be impossible to do but after killing miraak i kinda wished i could've teamed up with him, it would've made sense for my character and i think miraak is a really good character that could definetely been expanded on a bit
i didnt know i needed to hear chipmunk miraak until now. thank you, dragonborn.
happened to me the first time i played this DLC.. You have to use shittier gear to defeat him so his script doesn't shit itself.
@@ShrekisLoveShrekisLife4ever663 I mean shittier as in lower damage output. The script chokes up and dies if his health drops too low too quick.
I think miraak is my favorite DLC boss ever I mean the cool voice lines the unique armor and the green lifeless battlefield what an expirience this was for the first time … hell any time
The battlefield is very much alive. It creeps me out so much that there's tentacles everywhere and the sea looks so terrifying

Even as the Last Dragonborn reaches the peak of his power, he is still at the complete mercy of Bethesda's spaghetti code.
Behold Tod Howards greatness
This fight always seems to bug for ke and since I tend to have heavily enchanted gear Mirrak is a joke. So to get around this. I used a spell (is a mod I use) that would insta kill the dragons so he only gets 1 phase to fight me in and then I would just fight Mirrak normally and win because his hp pool is awful.
Your so strong you broke his AI or whatever it's called I have never seen that happen.
I still have yet to defeat miraak ,but I look forward to it lol.
Side notes , dule welding dragon swords with elemental fury, so fucking fun.
I have always loved to play skyrim with really high level. Props to you leveling to 251 - I stopped at 224;)
Everyone saying they beat him easy playing on novice XD. Which I mean they’re kinda right they’re playing on easy mode.
Every time I see Skyrim without SkyUI I remember to thank the modding lords for fixing such atrocious design
Skyrim looks fine
dont needs any mods
@@andrewkaminskas7721 Playing Skyrim without mods is like playing a beta version...Mods have become part of the game experience.
@@AceMatthew25414 as fo4 player who modded the shit out fo4 i cant enjoy fallout again that why im playing Skyrim vanilla first time on ps5 right now i just took windhelm as a imperial
Thanks!! i will try it
Miraak had a counter
“I can’t lose if I just reset time “ big brain miraak
I cannot even fight him with my regular gear. Even on legendary he still glitches out with couple love taps and I have to go through with iron sword.
Ah yes, the true final boss, the spaghetti code
on my very first run through i did my best to keep it glitchless, not using exploits and what not. when i finally got to him this happened to me. after about an hour of constantly reloading and trying i went screw this ill try again tomorrow. its kinda ironic that the next day that entire character save was corrupted
todd howard thought you were so op he had to corrupt your game, gg
thats AWFUL!! NOO!!!
I Withered him down with Lightning Storm from a distance while my Two Daedric Bodyguards Chased him down all while I'm screaming "Unlimited Poooweeerr!!" 😅
It was pretty fun and Miraak didn't stand a chance 😏
Boss music start playing
Miraak: wait thats not my music
Miraak is a joke even on Master, you owned him so hard omegalul
Miraak: I Am The Most Powerful Dragonborn
Dovahkin: Hold My Sword's
3:07 Set speed 0.25 and Miraak becomes a Donald Duck
Had this same thing happen to me on my last play through. Lvl 200 something when I finally decided to fight Miraak and maxed out on everything but speech, lockpicking, and pickpocketing. Took me like 10 reloads to finally realize I was beating him too fast. Then I decided to just punch him to death. It worked, and I was finally freed from this mediocre boss fight.
lightning storm is so bad compared to spamming double cast incinerate or thunderbolt
Same as first, not using the shout to have the cool glowy armor boost thing
In the third phase, he'd use his shout, and would go all out.
It ain't worth it unless you fight him on legendary, even then it's not much of a struggle.
Dragonborn!!! I’ve come to negotiate!
Dragonborn!!! I’ve come to negotiate!
Wait so it's been *10 years* and they never fixed the bug that makes it so if you hit Miraak too hard the fight breaks???
yes
I really love Skyrim but this is sloppy work of Bethesda.
@@elpenguinotierno6238 it just works
"What happens in Los Vegas stays in Los Vegas."
If someone sends cultists to kill me, The lives of the cultists are automatically forfeit ... the same goes for the one who sent them in the first place.
"If you won't bring the fight to me yourself, I will bring the fight to you myself - and that is the very LAST thing you EVER want me to do."
bethesda "it just works" writing
@@AhmadWahelsa
Sadly, just because 'it just works' does not necessarily mean that something that 'just works' does not mean it makes any real sense at all. It does not, nor will it ever.
I am not trying to argue with you or attack you or anything - heavens, no. What I am trying to say is ...
*WHOEVER ADDED THAT LINE FOR MIRAAK IS AN IDIOT.*
They could have left that line out, and they most definitely should have.
Ask and thou shall receiveth."
Whoever added the "You should have not come here." line to Miraak had this dumbass mentality of "I will just add that line to the available dialogue of all hostile character that can talk."
It is so damn stupid, if you ask me. I just hope ALDUIN does not say anything like,
"You should not have come here."
Or ...
"Never should've come here."
If the Dragonborn could speak with profane words, it would go a little something like this ...
"Bitch, do you want my soul or not? Make up your damn mind, asshole!"
I watched a video where a Thalmor Soldier says, "That's close enough." then immediately says "Come here. Let me see your face."
The stupidity is .. JUST. SO.
Blows my mind how Skyrim is still so fun to play to this day
