@@ShorkWasTaken Hey man, I like the tutorial, I'm just curious why all the stuff at the very beginning, instead of carriage to Dawnstar chest first. Seems like it would cut a lot of time.
And the Well Rested bonus sleeping at the inn it would’ve brought the number down to 213. If he picked up the skill book located at the Skyforge and the two located and silent moons camp it would’ve knocked another 17 off bringing the total down to 196. That’s one less duplication cycle (at intervals of 30) that can be eliminated since that cutoff is at 210. If you only drop 20 at a time, it should be noted that it will lead to more cycles overall (calculating for 196 means 7 cycles for 30 items and 10 cycles for 20), but it saves the pain of dropping 30 of each item at once and telling the follower to pick up 50% more items each cycle in comparison.
@@Paarthurnax. Translation: "If you get the EXP boost from sleeping at an inn, you would only use 213 materials instead of 30. If you read the skill books located at the Skyforge and Silent Moons Camp, it would immediately upped your skill, reducing the Smithing EXP needed to level up. This means you only need 196. That reduces the number reloading you have to do in order to duplicate the items by 1, since every reload you get 30 items if you did as the video. You can get 180 or 210 as they are divisible by 30. Instead you can only drop 20 items, meaning you only duplicate 20 per reload and this means the amount of reloads you need will increase. However since you will only be dropping 20 items one by one, this might end up being faster anyways."
For anyone looking for a fast, exploit free method. The single best thing you can do to gain xp is to UPGRADE items. It may not seem so at first, but that because, like anything, the xp rewarded scales with how much of an upgrade the item is. There’s an exhaustive amount of ways to increase your smithing, but stack all the cards in your favor and you get some absolutely nasty amounts of xp. Use the typical dwarven bow method, but instead of just making a million bows like a bot, make 10 or so. Drink your smithing potion, wear your smithing gear, and use any other buffs you have access to, and then upgrade them all the way to 100 If your setup is good enough, every upgrade will level you up by 1-2 levels until you’re in the 80s or 90s. If you’ve the ebony to spare, ebony bows obviously reward much more xp than dwarven, but it’s not really necessary to hit 100 quickly.
Yep, craft the best armor you can (i.e. orcish plate) and upgrade it. Eventually, the armor will pay for itself as the upgrade will increase the value of the armor enough to pay for the materials.
The way I level all my skills end game is by crafting and upgrading things and then selling them and buying ingots. Stopped around 150k gold so I just buy skills from the master traders.
Also guaranteed gold ingot in jarls room in markarth keep, no fight or adventure needed. Key to room available in servents room off to the right of the jarls seat

I am using the follower Benor, did you have any luck duplicating the gold and diamond with a different follower? Any tip tricks to making this work? And yes the 30 second loading screen blows!!
For reference, the Smithing XP formula for making items is (XP = 3 x (value)^0.65 + 25). That flat +25 is why in the early game without using exploits or Transmute, iron daggers are often best, as making 5 iron daggers gives 192 XP, compared to making an iron armor which uses the same amount of materials but only gives 94.2 XP. As you show in the video, however, Transmute Mineral Ore gives you easy access to gold from iron, and with just gold rings without jewels you can go from 38.4 XP/ore with iron daggers to 51.5XP/ore. The gold diamond necklace is one of the best at 163XP/ore, but flawless diamonds are rare and don't show up outside of guaranteed locations like the one you showed until the player reaches level 40.
It’s the people with the least views that make the best videos. I haven’t seen a guide that uses this method. This video definitely needs more popularity

If you are on pc a quicker way to drop one item from a stack is to press the home key (near the end key) when the list is open. It will change the drop slider to 1. @@mikeity2009 lol. Good point. It feels slightly more earned this way. I usually use iron ore converted to gold rings to get smithing to 30. Then make a ton of dwarven bows to finish leveling smithing
I have played Skyrim for over ten years, I am over the smithing grind, and just the entire method of leveling up in general . I now put all skills at 100 from the get go through a bat file on a new game and start at level 60 to fight all the best enemies at the start. But to make it a little more challenging I disable perk points at level up with Skyrim uncapper and add mods that give perk points through trials. My favorite is Unslaad. You get the repeatable quest where you fight the strong intruder on the bridge, and you get a frozen dragon soul as a reward if you beat it, then you have the half dragon girl convert it to a perk point.

@@amath247 I just dropped everything, and then told Lydia to pick up each item. Then fast traveled elsewhere and back and everything was on the ground again. I've tried it inside my home too, and it works also.

Works the same for me and I don’t have to go to that corner each time. Not sure if I’m missing a potential issue with my method but figured I’d mention it.

for those that dislike doing glitches, the best way to do it is by leveling up enchantment fist by crafting daggers and enchanting then with banish, they aren't nearly as valuable but the sheer amount of then that you need to to enchant to get to level 100 is enought to get you to 70 ish levels in smithing after that, try getting all smithing buffs you can get to exp and craft dwarven bows and upgrade then, if you leveled up alchemy (really easy if you have a home and farm Creep Cluster + Mora Tapinella + Scaly Pholiota) you can add a potion of smithing to the mix to make the price of your crafts skyrocket. This method isn't nearlly as fast but is more efficienty if you are going to level up enchanting anyway so 2 stones one bird + doesn't uses any glitchs
Exactly this. Glitching or cheats has never been my thing. I like to play RPGs like this as if I'm actually in this world living this adventure. Cutting corners like this would break the hell out of immersion for me. And frankly, as you said, smart players already know how to level up skills massively and quickly without resorting to exploits.
Actually, if you're going glitchless, I believe the best option is to use Transmute to turn tons of Iron Ore into Gold Ore so you can craft Gold Rings. One Iron Dagger gives you 38.4 XP per ore while Gold Rings, which gives 2 per craft, gives 51.5 XP per ore. You get the same Enchanting XP no matter the item, enchantment, or soul size, so in that regard, the only difference ends up being the value of the item when you sell it (since that helps you afford more ores and soul gems to continue the process), and how many items you'll end up smithing. Assuming I'm understanding UESP correctly, you need 91,600 XP to level Smithing from 15 to 100. Crafting Gold Rings, with the Well Rested bonus and the Warrior Stone bonus, gives 136.5 XP per craft, meaning you need 671 crafts to reach level 100. Doing this requires 1342 Gold Ores. Assuming you only start with Iron Ores and build up a stock, then use the Mage Stone and Well Rested bonus before transmuting a batch, swapping stones every time you go from transmuting to smithing, this will give you 2684 casts of Transmute and thus 52,338 Alteration XP out of the 528,804 needed to reach level 100, which should get you to around level 45 Alteration. You'll also have 1342 Gold Rings to Enchant, which... Enchanting XP confuses me, my calculations suggest that's enough to reach level 100... Four times... But assuming that's wrong, it should at least be enough to get to level 100. Finally, the rings will have a base value of 75 before enchanting. If you can find a Waterbreathing enchantment, which is available at level 1 (Banish isn't available until level 22), it has a base cost of 100. That should be a base value of 175 when you sell them. In total, that should get you to about level 60 Speech with the Thief Stone and the Well Rested bonus, and that's not counting the XP from buying all of that Iron Ore and all of those Petty Soul Gems (Waterbreathing gives the same whatever the size, best to maximize profits). Altogether would actually get you maybe to level... 65? Assuming you buy all of the Iron Ore and filled Soul Gems instead of mining and filling them yourself. Not even going to try calculating total profits though, XP is complicated enough. So assuming I'm understanding what UESP says and did the right calculations, Gold Rings is by far the most efficient. Iron Daggers are great, but you can't get Banish until level 22, so you can't maximize your profits right from the start of the game. You also don't get any Alteration XP. And for Enchanting, the actual enchantment doesn't impact the XP gained, and you get enough items to enchant either way. Obviously all of this can be made more efficient with the Aetherial Crown and getting married to get a 65% XP boost instead of the 30% from a Guardian Stone and Well Rested bonus that I calculated with.
Just a pro-tip to accelerate your speedrun, take Faendal and you can clean out his house for a *huge* pile of weapons and loot which you can proceed to use/sell. Guaranteed weapons, armor, herbs, food, more than you'd get by visiting Sven and Hilde's house. Also, taking a few minutes to talk to either Alvor or Gerdur is another opportunity to pick up more free stuff to hasten your trip to smithing mastery.
I think he sided with Sven by mistake, but the particular follower doesn't matter for how this glitch work. The only material reason to side with Sven is that there's a small chance (less than 2% I think) that he can spawn with a random piece of enchanted jewelry.

I didn’t even know smithing xp was dependent on item value. I’ve been trying to max out my smithing for days. Thank you for this. I’m level 57, with more than 100,000 gold, so I have a lot of resources saved up, what I don’t have I can duplicate or buy so this won’t take me long at all. ^^
Initially, it wasn't. As he mentioned at the beginning of the video - the initial smithing cycle was to do iron daggers as they were the most cost-effective for the xp granted. At some point (I think with the Dawnguard DLC?), Bethesda changed the xp calculation to be based upon the value of the item produced. So, this is why jewelry grants so much more xp than the daggers.
Dear xbox/ playstation users, i do agree on not droping to much , and im not complaining, however since im on in xbox and some others are on other consoles as well, i do suggest droping maybe 1 or 2 times past the amount in the video, if you want to gain a lot asap, as you can tap the left bumper/L1 to guickly get down to one when droping items, and if you drop 60 or 120 only 3 loading screens (out and in) will get you 180 or 360, idk about pc users as i cant afford a good pc right now (kinda broke lmao) but my load screen time is kinda shit lmao 🤣 so itll be a bit faster for me to just drop the extra bit at least once or twice, that being said sir i honestly appreciate you giving us content like this, you sir are quite wonderful 😊
Thank you so much for this! I've been trying to get all the trophies on my PS4, and am was level 47, still trying to get level 100 smithing (I was at 73) to make the dragon armor of course, but every tutorial I've looked at was the stupid yellow mountain flower potion glitch, and I didn't feel like spending all those hours and resources into it- But 99 necklaces later, I was there in *no* time! I'm so glad this came up on my fyp! (And it got me to level 50 which is one of the trophies!!) Anyways- I'm subscribed now!
Happy top help. The yellow mountain flower glitch, I just made a better and easy to digest method. It's definitely a help exploit to do for levels. One of your trophies will also be to kill a legendary dragon and they don't show up until level 70. Side note I have the platinum and all side trophies for the PS3, 4, and 5 version.
That’s interesting. The method I’ve always used was the alchemy resto loop. Disenchant fortify smithing and fortify alchemy. Do the loop until my potions created are like 300k+% stronger. Then create an enchanting potion. Enchant a ring with smithing, enchant a necklace with alchemy. Create something out of iron or leather improve it while wearing the ring smithing 100 instantly, sell the item and you’ll get speech 100, with the alchemy loop you’ll get alchemy 100. If you don’t feel like having a broken game, sell the ring and necklace you made. It takes about 30-45 minutes pending your merchant rng. This method is good for if you need levels to get perks or to travel to solstheim early as hell On a side note: to the people that said “Or just use console commands🤓” Bruh.. obviously, we’d all fucking use console commands if we had a PC. Not all of us have one or can afford one. Nobody wants to mindlessly kill an hour of their playtime just dropping shit on the ground. We don’t get off on dropping items on the floor and fast traveling. But sometimes you really just gotta work with what you got
I just finished the restoration loop video last night. Just doing time stamps and description right now. The only reason I didn't use the restoration loop glitch for it is because it's a bit longer to set up than this., but I do show in the video you can max out smithing with just an iron dagger and iron ingot. Along with one potion for alchemy and one potion for speech.
This guide is by far the best that I've seen. Little gripe that I had was that you didn't mention the free bed + well rested bonus to accelerate the actual leveling by another 10%. Also, you forgot to mention that you started as a race with a proficiency in smithing (starting at 20 instead of 15). However, that would have only been an extra 5 sets of materials or so. This guide is amazing though, keep up the great work.
hey im stuck on duping everytime i drop it in the corner and put sven on top it and have him pick it up then load stables and whiterun like he did but nothings spawning there :c
This takes me back and I love it! Small optimization, while over-encumbered, you can draw an arrow and hold it. Your movement is slightly faster than the encumbered slow walk. Also power attack over and over again to charge forward
I don’t think you can open the console and cheat that way on console, so it’s useful if you play on switch and just want to start with 100 smithing I guess. It is a single player game so if you want to chest who cares.
This is totally amazing. I appreciate the crap out of you! I think your mic was far better than some other tutorials, so really no need for an upgrade, of course, unless you want to. But as a tip, make sure you empty your inventory, OR once your follower has picked up enough materials, fast travel to Riften and do it there. That way if you become overweight, you can have multiple vendors to sell to. I also duplicated my grand soul gems at the same time. I took all my necklaces to the nearest enchantment table, and enchanted every necklace I could.
I am sure someone said this already by now, but guaranteed gold ingot (at least 2) in Kolskegger Mine at the top normally past the briarheart. This is also a gold mine, so you could just mine 2 ore here also instead of going to Halted Stream Camp and getting transmute. This may save time since you are already in Markarth anyway to get the flawless diamond. Hope this helps!
this is the most skyrim thing ive ever seen. i hope you see this comment bc im french and even tho my English is really bad ive been able to understand everything. people from around the world like what you do ! :)
to carry a massive amount of a single item without having the over burden debuff, just drop them all on the ground in one group and they will drop as a single item with a label on it that says how many the item counts as (itll say "gold ingot (300)" or something along those lines) you can then >>hold
Just found this video for the first time today and love it!! Just a tip I had though, found it today. You can drop all of them quickly and avoid all of the extra travels by doing this. Drop all of the items you have except for 5, drop the remaining 5 individually, then pick up the multi stack and repeat. Makes it much faster than dropping individually as well as taking out all of the extra fast travels by allowing you to duplicate your entire inventory at once!!
Faster way to craft is when clicking to confirm craft, pressing Y on your keyboard will confirm the craft. This should make it a bit faster. Great video, i will definitely make use of this whenever I restart skyrim for the 10th time with mods

Just wanted to say, I followed your guide for AE(Steam 1170) and it definitely helped me. I was able to do this and got both the Flawless Diamonds and Gold Ingots to dupe together.
This is a good way to do it if you don’t care about level scaling. I just keep all that iron ore you ignored in the mine and transmute it all into gold while traveling. Then, when I reach a town with a forge, I make the ingots and craft a handful of gold rings. It doesnt use any dupe exploits and it doesn’t scale your crafting skills higher than your combat skills, so you’ll more than likely be able to deal with what’s coming at you. As long as you don’t purposely go to a high difficulty quest, of course.
There's a gold ore outcropping near a lone standing column outside the Whiterun city wall between Chillfurrow Farm and the smuggler's hideout. If you go into Embershard mine and defeat the first two guys, then grab a pickaxe, you can eliminate the trip to Halted Stream Camp.
Can confirm this works. I already was far ahead in my gameplay. Had ingot and diamond ready. Got me a follower and started duping like craazy. Had maxxed legendary within minutes. Ps4 Pro. 23rd of September ‘24
Definitely a faster method of using the dupe glitch than ive seen for mass production, I have one single grand soul gem. Its lonely. I need to make it some friends.
11/16/2024 this still works. One thing Ill add for clarity is you have to make the companion picks up the stuff. The narrator doesn't state that initially. I was picking it up myself and nothing was happening. Hopefully this saves people a couple minutes of time 😅 thank you so much for this trick
Comment 2; On the other hand, there are so many and I watched so many " how to" videos for Skyrim. That i cannot remember most of them . Luckily just playing and grinding a little is enough to enjoy and beat the game on anything lower than Master.

@@Joker-xe5pw The Dawnstar chest does not guarantee nor has the ability to spawn the needed items.
For who wants to know, it was used 230 materials to get to 100.
If you only drop 20 at a time, it should be noted that it will lead to more cycles overall (calculating for 196 means 7 cycles for 30 items and 10 cycles for 20), but it saves the pain of dropping 30 of each item at once and telling the follower to pick up 50% more items each cycle in comparison.
my brain got fried reading that
@@Paarthurnax.

Drink your smithing potion, wear your smithing gear, and use any other buffs you have access to, and then upgrade them all the way to 100
If your setup is good enough, every upgrade will level you up by 1-2 levels until you’re in the 80s or 90s.
@@liberphilosophus7481 yeah armors probably better tbh, I’m just a bow guy.
@@pixelmaster9964 I pick the one with the highest gold value per material cost, which happens to be plate armors for the most part.
The way I level all my skills end game is by crafting and upgrading things and then selling them and buying ingots. Stopped around 150k gold so I just buy skills from the master traders.
Making ebony bows gives a ridiculous amount of Xp for not needing anything other than ebony

“I think there’s a way to teleport to jail from here by punching a chicken” is a sentence you will only ever hear in a Skyrim video
The gold diamond necklace is one of the best at 163XP/ore, but flawless diamonds are rare and don't show up outside of guaranteed locations like the one you showed until the player reaches level 40.

for those that dislike doing glitches, the best way to do it is by leveling up enchantment fist by crafting daggers and enchanting then with banish, they aren't nearly as valuable but the sheer amount of then that you need to to enchant to get to level 100 is enought to get you to 70 ish levels in smithing
after that, try getting all smithing buffs you can get to exp and craft dwarven bows and upgrade then, if you leveled up alchemy (really easy if you have a home and farm Creep Cluster + Mora Tapinella + Scaly Pholiota) you can add a potion of smithing to the mix to make the price of your crafts skyrocket.
"Okay, got it". Excellent video dude. Straight to the point. Appreciated. God loves you

This method is good for if you need levels to get perks or to travel to solstheim early as hell
On a side note: to the people that said “Or just use console commands🤓” Bruh.. obviously, we’d all fucking use console commands if we had a PC.
Along with one potion for alchemy and one potion for speech.

This homies videos take me back to being a kid, never change bro. Fuck the whole "WHATS UP GUYS AND WELCOME BACK TO ANOTHER SKYRIM BLA BLA" youre a real one bro keeo going
Bro, great! video, love the concise straight forward way you went about it. I wish there were more people making no bs videos like this. You got a good voice for this too, easy to listen to. Have a sub.
Sound quality was good man, I hope your UA-cam career runs long 🙌
I've done this myself a few times around when special edition first came out, but I'll still come back and watch videos like this just for the fun of it
Awesome tutorial I will use it in my next playthrough. Levelling smithing is one of the boring skills to level.
Thanks for the video bro🤍
I havent played skyrim in years now but this i had to see. Fantastic
Just wanted to say, I followed your guide for AE(Steam 1170) and it definitely helped me. I was able to do this and got both the Flawless Diamonds and Gold Ingots to dupe together.
Using this I was able to buy Proudspire Manor in a couple hours. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks man great vid, first time I've ever actually gotten to a 100 smithing
21:05 that "fffffffffffffff" killed me. Interesting video nonetheless ! I've been struggling levelkng up blacksmithing, so i'll definitly try that
Can confirm this works. I already was far ahead in my gameplay. Had ingot and diamond ready. Got me a follower and started duping like craazy. Had maxxed legendary within minutes. Ps4 Pro. 23rd of September ‘24
As the title says
Hands down best and easiest tutorial I have seen so far!
Definitely a faster method of using the dupe glitch than ive seen for mass production, I have one single grand soul gem. Its lonely. I need to make it some friends.
Thank you for this, holy shit i spent so much time trying to get my smithing to 100 with the iron dagger method, this is so much more efficient!!
11/16/2024 this still works. One thing Ill add for clarity is you have to make the companion picks up the stuff. The narrator doesn't state that initially. I was picking it up myself and nothing was happening. Hopefully this saves people a couple minutes of time 😅 thank you so much for this trick
Recently started replaying Skyrim because I have yet to play the Dragonborn DLC. I completely forgot about Halted Stream camp. Thanks bruv.
I hope you continue with these videos. Most helpful tutorial ive seen so far
Made one for every skill and most exploits.
Omg, the idea to have the companion pick up the items saved me soooo much time🎉🎉🎉
Comment 2; On the other hand, there are so many and I watched so many " how to" videos for Skyrim. That i cannot remember most of them . Luckily just playing and grinding a little is enough to enjoy and beat the game on anything lower than Master.
