The LMF2 was developed as a standard carry for military pilots. both fixed wing and rotor. The butt is designed to break cockpit plexi windows and the tang does not go completely to the butt so that it can be used to cut through live electrical cords without the user being electrocuted. Concrete, framing, roofing, siding, steel buildings, seamless. You name it. And you can get bet I carry a knife on me. We are always opening up pallets and shipped boxes with our material in it. Over the past few years I've grown a liking to the tanto fixed blades. Anyway, great videos! Keep up the good work!

Great video. As a heavy bark river 3V user I usually go out for a week at a time. With heavy use I find 3V easy to keep up. All you need is a cheap ceramic rod with a leather strop. I make sure to load my strop with a diamond paste .5 micron. You need a diamond cutting compound for super steals. The standard polishing compound takes longer and may not work. I do this only as a maintenance. I found that a few swipes after a few uses and it keeps razer sharp. I also use Esees quite a bit and love them, however, I have noticed the edges roll more with wood use and need sharpening more. With 1095 expect to care for rusting and sharpening more. But it is an excellent budget tough steel. I use 3V but if cost is the issue you will be well served with an Esee. I have broken too many S35VN to every own one again. Glad to see a video that actually covers the full range of knives.
Don't let the price fool you. Morakniv's are awesome. I have a bunch of them and I beat the crap out of them. They've never broken or chipped and they are sharp.
The Mora 511 is an unbelievably great deal..I went through many fixed blades looking a nicer knife with micarta or G-10 scales that performed as good as the 511 and it wasn’t easy..I eventually replaced my trusty ole 511 with great knives like the ESEE 3 and Bradford Guardian 4 but I can’t recommend that 511 enough for anyone looking for a good very affordable belt knife

TOPS - People seem to not know a lot about Tops. This model or simillar, but the bigger brother - Perfection! No SRK no Gerber no Ka-Bar comes close to this piece. Ontario/ESEE yeah cool, but thick as hell! Tops is just a WIDE blade what allows for having both tough and beautifly cutting machine. And guess what it works also as a small chopper and works perfect. What a knife. Yes. Its better than Falkniven. Its just as good as Mora. Period. Other close competitor for Tops yet not in production now is Zero Tolerance 0170. I do recomend to skeletonize the tang of it since its too tang heavy piece. Then it becomes..Perfect!

So funny story spartan blades store is right down the road from my house they bought out a old restaurant and I’ve went past the building a thousand times and my wife asked one day is that a knife store and I legit had been told and thoroughly believed it was some kind of high end restaurant 😅😂🤷🏼♂️ just found out a. Few weeks ago it’s a knife manufacturer and I’m ready to go to the store and shop haha
Great presentation and a good selection of fixed blades from across price points. I own a handful of the blades you presented and you represented them correctly I felt. Also appreciate the time stamps so I could jump ahead if I wasn't interested in a particular blade.
gotta have a becker or esee in case you wanna treat it like you stole it. I got the bk2, it's just as good as a trowel or hammer as a knife, and I love it. Get aftermarket scales though!
One note to add about the Bark River... They DO make Micarta handle options in matte (non-polished) handles. Not to mention many MANY other awesome handle options.
I live in NC and just ordered a knife from Winkler. Am excited to get one in hand (in 4-6 weeks) lol Glad to get your input.(although that is not the one i ordered.)
I own the lion steel. It is incredibly comfortable. After I bought it, I found a review by Dutch Bros that gave it a glowing review. I am now crushing on the Esee 6. The Esee 6 and a Izula will probably be the next 2 purchases. The 6 for me and the Izula as a neck knife for my wife. Would love to see a new neck knife video.
I wish the Spyderco BowRiver came in a higher quality steel..I have been considering picking one up for a while and I still might..Ive yet to buy a Spyderco fixed blade..I ordered a S110V PM2 the other day but I kind of wish I would’ve spent about $10-$15 more and ordered the Bradley Bowie+Endura combo
Well done, informative review. I like all knives, but fixed blades are my passion. I have many Cold Steel solutions, but I also own many other brands & styles. Some of the high end blades definitely caught my attention. I would have loved to work in a store like yours in my younger years, but at 70, I probably would have been broke at retirement time!!!
That was an Excellent job @ individual explanation per differences, reasoning, cost, and materials! Quite honestly: Until this "In Depth" 24 knife Showcase: I had Not Considered this company's validity as "Top Notch" as I Now Do! Great Job at "My Awakening!" Thank You SO VERY Much! I will now Be Addressing Your Company Far More Professionally Overall! Just To NOTE: I have been an avid user/collector for well over 65 years! Thanx Again for "The Opening Of My Eyes & Mind! J
1. thank you. 2. I own 6 of the specific knives, and more than one each. 3. I was dealer and own over 100 fixed blades, even having bought some through you as I am retired. 4. In considering a knife, most people overlook the carry position and that most factory sheaths are going to be unacceptable. 5. The best fixed blade with an acceptable sheath in the range of 5 -5.5 inch blade that does not require the modification of the sheath, the sharpening of the blade is the oft-overlooked Ontario TFI. This is the knife I gave to my son to carry concealed within his car.
As to sheaths, Winkler has that down pat. Each sheath is fit to an individual knife. Being handmade, there are slight variances from knife to knife, so the make their sheaths in a manner that accommodates that fact. The clip is solid, adjustable for left and right hand carry, and can be altered for vertical and horizontal carry. They are also 3 layers. Outer layer is leather for the beauty, middle is kydex for retention, inner is felt for silent, smooth draws and to keep the kydex from scuffing the blade. Daniel Winkler is a master smith, and his work shows that. I could literally wax poetic on his work for hours. If you've never owned a Winkler, fix that.
I got the Gerber LMF 2. My only gripes are the serrations, handle size and the sheath. The Strongarm is the perfect field knife while based on the LM2 series.
the Guardian design takes the top spot for me, those materials seem to be something built to last basically "forever". The Spartan seemed like it wants to jump off the table and stab bad guys. I am betting you would buy that Schrade as a bang around knife for camping and your fancy Bark River knife would never leave it's sheath, while the Schrade got worked like a rented mule. Funny Zac likes the Kershaw Camp design, I was considering getting that model for my lady as her camping knife, Kershaw should release it in Pink and Lavender scales with a "muddy girl" Kydex sheath, it's a beautiful knife.
I'm signed up with several online knife stores and get email notifications from each of them every week. Blade HQ is the only one that shows a price on the knives they're featuring right there in the email. All the rest force you to open the website for that info. That might not sound like a big deal to anybody else, but that little bit of convenience is greatly appreciated by me...
I have a gerber strongarm and it amazing. Looks awesome, great sheath options, and a decent steel. Hasn’t let me down and I cannot recommend this knife enough!
I bought 2 BK2 blanks. I gifted one and kept the other. That was like 15 years ago. Still haven't brought myself to slap some handle scales on it and bend some Kydex for it. It is a boat anchor, no way arround it. If I ever get to do it, I bet you I will be skeletonizing the handle area (+glued and pinned home made micarta scales), otherwise i will become way to heavy. Thick overall geometry does not help either. I may even try to regrind it full flat. I am glad you like yours as is (minus the scale swap) but... what do you do with it?
Excellent presentation Zac, felt really chilled out this week. Always good to mix up the styles. Lovely knives too with some nice insightful commentary thank you very much, respect 👊
I have been EDCing my Benchmade Saddle Mountain Skinner for about eight months with a custom leather sheath (Local Tanner Made). I have never owned such a respectable and reliable knife, on top of that I only live twenty minutes from Benchmade so the one time I needed a reup on the edge they did it for free. I recommend any Benchmade product the price is more than justified for the product you get. I mean any company that has a box of exploded knives that they refunded/replaced no questions asked is good by me.
I love big knives and I can not lie. I carry a White River FC7 when I am out in the woods, and I’d carry William Wallace’s sword as my EDC if I could! 🤘🏻😜🤘🏻
How about the Bark River Canadian Special LT 3v? Watch out with the leather sheath of the Bradford Guardian knives, the tip of mine went right between the seams and sliced through my thumb!
You saved the best for last - the WINKLER! I own a belt knife , and a UTILITY CRUSHER with sculpted maple handles, and it is just about a perfect grip it holds your hand in place. The belt knife is great for just about any cutting task. I EDC it a lot. The UTILITY CRUSHER is great for any task. It has a great blade that the front of it looks like a Benchmade 940 on steroids , and it has serrations on the spine that come in handy . If you get a WINKLER get the rubber handle belt knife with the crusher pommel ( that is what the S.E.A.L.S. Use) or one with the sculpted handles you can’t go wrong!! I use a WORKSHARP to get these blades incredibly sharp. Thank YOU Worksharp, and WINKLER knives CHEERS Brothers and sisters of the blade!

Dont worry, I've had mine for 2 years and I put it down plenty although I broke the tip and turned it into a flathead! Get that lady in your hands brotha and live a little.
Idk if it is because my grandpa is/was a Marine ( hes passed on a few years ago ) but my first fixed blade was a KaBar and I dont stray from them for my camp/tactical knives. I have loved KaBar since I was a kid just always had a fascination with them and as soon as my brother went in the Marine Corps I bought him and me one I got the foliage green kraton handled one and him a traditional and holy shit I didnt look back! That and my Bk9 is my favorite fixed blades they always beat out my SOG Seal Pup elite when I go camping and I always think about all those camping trips me my brother dad grandpa uncle went on when we were kids. There might be better fixed blades out there but KaBar got a fan for life right here. And happy belated birthday to all the Marines out there!!!
Kbar Becker series is awesome. I have the Bk-9 and bk-4. First thing you need to do is take them plastic handles off and put on some micarta transforms the whole knife

Other close competitor for Tops yet not in production now is Zero Tolerance 0170. I do recomend to skeletonize the tang of it since its too tang heavy piece. Then it becomes..Perfect!
My edc includes 2 fixed blades the crkt minimalists around my neck and the crkt mossback hunter when I wear boots I slide a small no name gas station knife in there too
Where do you keep your nunchucks?
I have a CRKT Minimalist Drop Point, and carry it most every day. Very handy little knife, and it is amazing how often I reach for it for some routine cutting task.

Man in 2 years knives have gone up in price about 40%.
Everything has thanks to Joe Biden
Yep and it's a sad sad thing I hunt to find the best deal possible I carry $300 knives at all times and got them for around $270 for both a small 2.4 inch fixie M390 blade and a larger 3.5 inch fixie in Magnacut I live them I use the little guy for utility stuff and my bigger Magnacut dodad for self defense should the need arise
Outstanding video. Timestamps are a superb addition. Thankyou!
Here’s a good idea. Instead of flipping the paper over to something else, y’all should cut the paper in half with the knife your showing 🤷♂️
Why? What does that prove, it can cut paper? Major selling point, 😂
@@TheRoadhammer379 it’s just cool...........
YES 👌🏻
@@TheRoadhammer379 it would show that the knife comes moderately sharp out the box. Before you say all of them are that sharp they aren’t.
But a crappy knife yhats been sharpened can cut paper.
Great presentation and a good selection of fixed blades from across price points. I own a handful of the blades you presented and you represented them correctly I felt. Also appreciate the time stamps so I could jump ahead if I wasn't interested in a particular blade.
Bought a ABKT Elite Shadow Predator from you guys and have not been disappointed. I carry it horizontal inline with my belt buckle.
Bark River Gunny. LT Wright. Falkniven F1. Lionsteel M4. Winkler are the BEST 5 on that table.
gotta have a becker or esee in case you wanna treat it like you stole it. I got the bk2, it's just as good as a trowel or hammer as a knife, and I love it. Get aftermarket scales though!
One note to add about the Bark River... They DO make Micarta handle options in matte (non-polished) handles. Not to mention many MANY other awesome handle options.
Thanks guys, I'd love to see the L.T. Wright Northern Hunter on the table some time.
I live in NC and just ordered a knife from Winkler. Am excited to get one in hand (in 4-6 weeks) lol Glad to get your input.(although that is not the one i ordered.)
Just got the Bradford guardian 3 and it hasn't left my side. It's everything I wanted in a fix blade. Great recommendation
fixed
I own the lion steel. It is incredibly comfortable. After I bought it, I found a review by Dutch Bros that gave it a glowing review. I am now crushing on the Esee 6. The Esee 6 and a Izula will probably be the next 2 purchases. The 6 for me and the Izula as a neck knife for my wife. Would love to see a new neck knife video.
How's that lionsteel treating you? Been eyeing it for a while now myself..
Excellent, just the video I needed to see, covering all of the main topics and latest best in class production knives.
I have several of those, But I must admit, that Lion steel looks pretty sweet and after a quick check there are multiple options
Props on the time stamps! coincidentally I was sharpening my Izula 2 when I came across this on my home screen.
I really love the show.. i have learned and enjoyed the show and it proves your never too old to learn new stuff.. ty
My first serious knife buy was a CRKT 🙌 the squid to be specific. Has always been handy for work or camping needs!
1. thank you.
I have a Winkler Crusher Belt knife, and it does not disappoint, even though i had to save for a while to buy it, being a 14 year old knife nut 😂
I've beat the mess out of the Condor Bushlore (hammering away at it to split smaller pieces of wood) and its held up nicely.
Thanx for a great video! And my hat off for your pronounciation of "Morakniv". I loved your colleague who praised the "Morackanajv"! 😄
Loved my strongarm. Looking at getting it replaced as it was stolen from my truck, might just order another one.
gross
Don’t forget to pick up the micarta scales for that Becker, it really makes a difference.
The bk2 is a beast. I've had mine for 15 years. Get the micarta scales for it.
I love my bk2. Wish I had gotten the kydex but misclicked and got the shitty cloth.
I use the minimalists cleaver as one of my edc's, great knife and it's surprisingly good at penetration with the corner tip
Excellent presentation Zac, felt really chilled out this week. Always good to mix up the styles. Lovely knives too with some nice insightful commentary thank you very much, respect 👊
I cant believe blade hq let this guy get away... He was a natural host.
Benchmade cut up guns. I'll have nothing to do with them. To bad, I like their knives. I have a nimravious and an auto Stryker.
I have the mora 511 and its really enough I have never felt the need to change it with another knife.
"Hope this video helped you out and made you want to buy something"
Me who was and is completely sold and bought 3 of those knifes
Thank you so much for making one of these videos. I've been looking at some fixed blades for a while. Maybe I can make a decision now.
Man you guys to a top Noch job in explaining knives! 🔪🙌🏽😎👏🏽👏🏽
That Spartan and Winkler were my top picks this episode. Such quality knives.
Benchmade Bushcrafter is my fav fixed blade. Thinking about getting the Spyderco Waterway next.
I only watched this video because I was obsessed with the knife on the thumbnail and it just so happened to be the most expensive knife there was
44 minutes of knife... I love it
I love big knives and I can not lie.
Great showcase, you made it difficult to chose, I guess I will take them all 😎
You saved the best for last - the WINKLER! Thank YOU Worksharp, and WINKLER knives
CHEERS Brothers and sisters of the blade!
Hey, Zach. I'm Zach. I've been watching you since you started, and I've never seen you do the Schrade Priscilla. Why not? Are you scared that you'll never put it down?
Oh my god I’m so overwhelmed with the amount of knives that I want. I’ve got like anxiety there’s just to many of them I can’t even think about it all ! I wish I could just go to bode hq and play with all these knives to decide what I want !!
Fällkniven F1 is the survival knife for the Swedish airforce fighter pilots.
Yeah it’s awesome
