Damn, the content, the voice, the subject, the quality, the pacing. How does this have less than 1k views?? No worries mate, you will blow up very soon, great stuff!
A small correction; the special stats in gen 1 were combined, so the stats shown in this video are slightly innacurate. Other than that, well done! My favorite is definitely Ninetales! Because of the combined special stats in gen 1, it's the best IMO! Also, I'd use them mostly for the Pokémon Stadium on the Nintendo 64, so it didn't really matter how late you'd find each one in the game, or if they didn't learn flamethrower. I'd teach them fireblast and they'd be good to go. Fire types were however, as you rightly put, not a great type in gen 1
Something you may be sleeping on here bc it wasnt mentioned, Charizard - Swords Dance - doesn't work with slash bc of gen 1(crits ignore opponents boosts AND yours), but you can just use body slam, which is generally better, bc paralysis, but i think this is the best case for it. Access to the second best setup move. The opportunity cost of not using the other starters will hurt your game speed for them first two shit matchups though.
Charizard is actually my favorite starter based on the fact that it's still one of the better fire pokemon and it can learn fly. So 90% of its life it just Flys me around the game, and for that 10% of the time I need something hit with flamethrower, it's there. It's not as good as Blastoise or Venusaur but you can replace Blastoise with Gyarados. And while Venusaur might be the best grass type, grass/poison is a weak typing and I don't usually use one in my Kanto games. Honestly, Venusaur is lucky I keep him on the late game roster sometimes
Definatley charizard but yes. Pretty much all fire types are stuck with ember until late level when they learn flamethrower. Fire blast is a late game tm also. Much improvement in gen 2 cos flame wheel and fire punch get added to many more fire types move pools till theyesrn flamethrower, which is still late level by the way but at least they arent stuck with ember till then like in gen 1
Dude ICE is very important typing.... really it counters dragon and rock and LAPRAS is an amazing pokemon i have a lapras in yellow that knows Thunderbolt/Ice Beam/Blizzard/Surf and it can SOLO the pokemon league including your rival YES it used to be able to do that at level 60 with some ether and elixirs.
You have Magma over the rest because it can learn Psychic for a coverage and strength. You can have a Strength-Flamethrower-Psychic-Submission Magma with Bodyslam if you are not using it on a Normal type or you try to have your opponent be a sleep so you are not using the Paralysis chance. The Charazard can get Slash and is a Flying type so it has immunity to a Super Effective typing and can use Dig. Also Magma can use Teleport so that is a thing, although a bit weird.
