Raichu was one of my top 3 favorite way back when R/B first came out. I always picked up a pickachu in Viridian forest and evolved it as soon as I got the thunderbolt TM.
It's honestly infuriating that since Pikachu became the mascot Raichu got no love. Raichu was a perfect blend of cute and cool. Being cast aside like that is just tragic
Never used Pikachu past Misty. I wouldn't use Raichu. I never used the fossil mons either. I would always save the good tms until I could do the missingno glitch.

Can we talk about how neglected Kangaskhan is? Just look at it. Does it look like a pure normal type? I think not. I'd agree on fighting (look at those tree trunks for arms) or dragon (looks pretty scaly to me) as either primary or secondary typings in a heartbeat. I could even see an argument for ground being made. Also we have it since gen 1. Over 25 years. It was overlooked every single time evolutions for older pokemon were added. Give me Kangunior already! It's also a pain to get in most gens. The one time it was relevant in a not-gen-1 and got something, it's the most uninspired version of it. Kicking your child out of your belly pouch qualifies as mega evolution? Wow. It's one of my favourite gen1 mons and has been a part of my team for every og blue run and all the remakes. Give this gentle giant the love it deserves! Also yeah, Sandslash is the best looking final stage groundmon. Not as cute as Sandshrew, but still great.
The problem with Kabutops is that you get it at a piss poor level and around the 7th gym, near the end of the game. There is pretty much no reason to train it at that point.
SandSlash: You know they say that all mons are created equal, but you look at me and you look at Rhydon and you can see that statement is not true. Then you add Golem to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the pokemon battles , you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning. But I-I got a 66 2/3 chance of winning, 'cause Golem KNOOOWS he can't beat me, and he's not even gonna try. I used to use Sandslash and Dodrio a lot when I played Gen 1. One of the reasons I loved Dodrio was Drill Peck, my favorite flying move. Pidgeot is great and all... but it can't learn Drill Peck, and between Fearow and Dodrio, I prefer Dodrio. Also I don't know if it's underrated but I would ALWAYS get the Dewgong from Cinnabar lab named Sailor/Cezanne, always liked Seals/Sealions and ice is my favorite type.

I've used it in basically every playthough I could with it having the move set of Psychic, Recover, Shadow Ball and Shock Wave, or some variation while holding a Twisted Spoon. The thing is outright broken in the early game, and I still keep it around on my team even though there are arguably better Psychics out there. Something about catching an Abra, getting it to Lv. 16, having it evolve, learn confusion and tear though the early game is just so satisfying to me.

However, Articuno is really good, despite being considered the weakest of all legendary birds Raichu is a good pokemon, but if you have chosen Bulbasaur, I think you only need to catch a Pikachu at the Power Plant because Grass type can work better than Electric type in gen 1 and an Electric pokemon, like Raichu, will mostly help you during the Victory Road because Lance and Lorelei

I have always hated kabutops' design. I picked it as my first fossil in my first playthrough. This is a time before I had any advanced knowledge of anything and guides, and info on the internet was hard to come by. I got kabuto and aerodactyl revived and was instantly disappointed with kabuto in comparison. I didn't give it much thought as I figured it would evolve. When it learned absorb, I was disappointed again. Then it got slash and evolved. I kid you not even as a 11 year old kid, the first thing I thought was no wonder this thing went extinct. How does this thing eat or sleep without accidentally impaling or decapitating itself. I knew then high crit moves were broken, because Charizard has slash too. But my first impressions of the kabuto line were forever ruined, that it only became a pokedex entry and sat in the PC after.
