Heck yeah bristlenoses! My albino long fin BNs are reaching adulthood now and I picked up a green dragon and a super red this past week 😍 A long fin green dragon is one of my bucket list fish but they’re rare and a little pricey

Slice of zucchini, put a cake fork through the slice and drop in tank is an easy way to feed these guys. Small cake fork keeps it at the bottom and easy to retrieve / change later. They also are surprisingly protective and good parents even in a community tank. They are a boss when protecting their cave with babies

Great tips here thx. I'm still debating between these or a clown pleco for a 40 gallon breeder. With both types I've heard the the same thing you said and that's to get adults if you can. I have only one fish store in my town and Petco / Petsmart but I would only by bettas from one of those stores lol. Hopefully they will have some adults in stock. I currently have 5 Ottos and trumpet snails for algae control but I want something a little bigger with a longer lifespan. I only bought 5 Ottos which have lasted about 5 years and they bred randomly once :)

    Some good useful pointers cheers
I have 4/5 mth old mix blend of bristle nose Plecos : orange, spotted and snow white
A few small & larger breeding caves
The Snow White has hung around the small caves but no other action. It’s getting cooler now summers over. I have sword tails in also
Both sets keep themselves on their own sections
Both love green wafers & zukini - gen add a half split in two ever few days.
They have grown to 3/4/4.5 “ so far. But no actual bristles as yet, so can’t sex them as yet
    Suggestions?

Ammonia could be a key factor why they gulp air but it also could mean not enough water circulation bc I had this happened and my water didn’t have ammonia or nitrites and they still gulped air but now I use a two power heads and three air stones and now they stoped gulping for air

Hi thanks for your videos your advice is really helpful and easy to understand as im a beginner. I recently bought a longfin brisslenose mal from the pet store he didnt know how old he was he said he is old enough to fertilise eggs he is roughly 16 cm long. We put him in with our albino brisslenose female and she usually lays eggs every month she is trying to get into the cave with him but he wont let her i do water change on saturday and she usally lays eggs that night its been 3 weeks over the month she spends all day laying at the entrance to his cave he swims past her when he leaves. Can a brisslenose female have eggs with a longfin male ? Should i put her in our other tank with male brisslenose not the longfin? Any advice appreciated sorry about long story of the situation.

I recently bought a bn pleco from a pet store. He’s VERY small. About the size of your guys at 3:59. I’m concerned because he’s only sucking on the glass, instead of going after the food. Any suggestions? Note: my water parameters are good.
