Would love to see the source for the claim Simon makes at 39:00 that the reductions to heart disease risk in North Karelia were primarily due to the reductions in saturated fat intake rather than smoking cessation. I know vegan critics that dispute this and I can't find a clear answer one way or the other with my Googling.

I didn’t experience any audio issue listening on iPhone via hearing aid connected via Bluetooth. The only complaint that I have, and it’s beyond the control of any podcaster, is that the adds that interrupt the podcast are blaring loud!

Synthetic Vitamin D supplements will also "phase out" once people will find out its side effects, or should I said toxicity. Almost nobody is talking about side effects of all these supplements, especially Vitamin D (which should be called Hormone D, as it's a hormone, not a vitamin), even if it's taken in conjuction with Vitamin K2 and Magnesium.

Hi Guys! Great discussion! Thank you both so much. I loved every minute. So inspiring
Re vitamin B12 - have you heard anything about the benefits of comsuming raw aloe vera gel? Apparently its particularly good at cleaning the ileum and the appredix and places where we manufacture our own B12, and therefore helpful w a vegan diet.

Great interview. In regards to standard American diets and type 2 diabetes, that isn’t due to fat and cholesterol, but the overwhelming amount of processed sugars. The other part Simon needs to be cautious about is studies on vegans and vegetarians and heart disease. Is there risk lower simply due to the exclusion of animal fats, or is it more due to the fact most vegans and vegetarians are practicing many more healthy lifestyle habits than non vegans and vegetarians. I think people who are serious about their health ought to invest in basic genetic testing to see what enzymes they have and what foods are tolerable or inflammatory. Then base your dietary choices from there. No matter what diet, diets high in whole plants, moderate exercise or daily movement, sunshine, and meaningful relationships are probably key to total wellness and health.

Personalised DNA nutrition diets are a hoax. Their claims are not supported by the science. There’s a huge gap between what we actually know about nutrition genomics and what these companies claim to offer.

I agree honestly, to me the carnivore diet had me feeling good. I’ve done plenty of research and now I eat pretty much everything, a mixture of plants/animals like you said, it’s focusing on health and listening to your body.

So you don’t think that the primary cause of type 2 diabetes is insulin resistance due to the intramyocellular lipids?

@@kodyzhager1456 Unfortunately, it’s not only about your health. It’s also about state of our planetary health which ultimately will affect you and your grandchildren. It’s also about minimizing cruelty towards the innocent animals but, I suppose, as a carnivore, that’s least of your concern.
