    I needed to see this in my journey to recover from, well, dying.
    If I had not changed my diet, that's all I changed at first, I would not have been here.
    I was on high protein shakes (medical!!) and my body was eating itself, it was horrible and I was in so much pain, in my body as well as mentally.
    The 'we are omnivores' thing is what kept me struggling to find healthy food.
    Now I'm off processed foods, sugar, anything animals and if I stick to that, I can dance and be normal.
    If, on the other hand, I visit someone who doesn't have 'food' and on top of that, I eat candy... Pain, no more walking.
    I can start to detoxify all over again.
    Protein isn't an innocent thing, if not gotten directly from a plant.
    It kills!!

  • @juliewake4585

    My goodness. This is one phenomenal speech. I had to give up dairy ten years ago as it was making me ill. Seven years ago I gave up meat because I didn’t want the animals to die for me, but I thought fish was only fish. Following Seaspiracy I gave up fish and I’m now vegan. I have to say that I worried terribly about my protein consumption but you’ve persuaded me that I really don’t need to worry about it.
    I’m so pleased I’m vegan, for so many reasons.

Then it took almost another 40 years for that to merge into veganism. I've been vegan since 2011. I was only doing it ethical at first. Then I realized 6 years later that the overwhelming evidence supported eating whole plant foods as being the healthiest. This is what prompted me into being an advocate because it was then that I realized there was no reason for anyone to be eating animals. Since Then I have met and even videographed many long term vegans. I even know some that have been their entire life. Even 2 generations of vegan since birth families.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  5 років тому +2

      Awesome, it sounds like you're moving in the right direction. If move into eating 100% plant based whole foods I imagine you will feel and do even better. And at some point you won't want to eat any animal products. Most people I have interviewed say they wish they had done it sooner. Once you are 100% the idea of eating any animal products is repulsive. And the more you learn about nutrition the more you will find there is no need for eating animals or their secretions and that doing so is not only toxic but crowds out opportunities for more nutrient dense and antioxidant rich foods, which are always plant based :)
      Then you will come to realize that it's fairly easy to prepare before you go somewhere and not need to be a flexitarian. Maybe you'll bring snacks, maybe I'll eat before you go, or maybe you'll just go without eating because you can enjoy fasting from time to time since you normally eat such nutrient dense foods fasting becomes easy (if you need to or just want to) giving your body a nice metabolic break :)

      What you both don't understand is you have to factor in the calories with the nutrient density. The ratio of calories to all nutrients and how they are distributed is what matters. You get too many amino acids when you eat meat eggs and dairy and not enough micronutrients. Eating animal flesh and secretions has an uneven distribution of nutrients because that animal's DNA used nutrients from plants to make it's proteins. AND Animal flesh is completely devoid of fiber, phytonutrients and has on average 64 times less antioxidants. At the end of the day there is a reason why doctor Ellsworth cardiologist lived to be a 104 but the proponents of your meat centric diets die very young. Yet we only make up 3% of the population and we are running circles around the opposition.

      Broccoli is more nutrient dense per calorie than a steak, do you even know what you're saying? Or are you talking about liver which has a gravely uneven distribution of nutrients. Seriously, which nutrients are we taking and are we judging based on RDAs, TULs, AIs, and considering the potential dangers that come along with what you're eating? Afterall, food is a package deal. Whatcha got???

    Hi Dr Milton, thank very much for your commitment sharing very good information for vegans helping them to build confidence in their vegan world journey. During my 21 years of veganism I lost 60lbs and it took only about 6 months. And it stays there till today no matter how much vegan foods I took the weight stays! I only take whole food plant-based foods and abstain from any fried foods, sugar, artificial additives or processed foods, etc. I started in June 1999 and ran Sydney Marathon and hiked upThrong-la Pass, Annapurna Circuit in 2008. I always believe vegans have the same slim physique like vegan doctors like Dr Neal Barnard, Dr Caldwell Esselstyn, etc but I was wrong after watching many UA-cam videos. Can you comment the reasons for that. 🙏

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked  2 роки тому +1

      I can't speak for him but does it really matter that other people have different physics? people are either endomorphs, ectomorphs, and mesomorphs. Some people eat processed foods, High fat foods and don't exercise at all, All kinds of variables... But it sounds like you're doing fine so...

Everyone all around the world has pieces of the truth and only one is full of truth and that’s the teachings of Jesus given from the Holy Father. If you understand there is at least a God, you’re off to a good start, now you just have to find out correct one, eliminating the distractions. I pray those who are held by false doctrines, including man made myths, such as evolution, find Jesus. God Bless you all

    I have a question about digestionon vegan. From other videos Ive seen some vegans develop issues. And to be fair over heard about the leaky gut from heavy meat eaters as well. Its 2 different issues. Starting to think the word strict in any diet is not good. I am or was a heavy meat eater. But diving head first with a goal of reducing meat intake to 10 to 20percent of diet. Baby steps. One of my nick names is Meat man for God's sakes. Lol.

      Thank you for sharing and inquiring with a willingness to learn and improve! I am not an authority on nutrition by any means. I just love to learn as much as I can time permitting of course.
      I would say consider going to a plant-based doctor. Also someone like Goji Man and follow docs like Dr Garth Davis, Dr Ornish, Dr Neal Barnard, Dr Joel Kahn, Dr Joel Fuhrman, Dr Esselsyn, and Dr Greger for starters.
      Watch videos on the microbiome, enterotypes like prevotela and bacteroides, diverticulitis, and TMAO at nutritionfacts.org. Essentially we have good bacteria and bad bacteria. If someine has a damaged GI and/or bad bacteria that may take time to heal and redevelop good bacteria when transitioning into a plant-based wholefood diet systematically. Some people get fecal transplants even.
      Good bacteria ferments beans, greens, grains fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds, herbs, and spices into beneficial metabolites like butyrate. Bad bacteria produces hydrogen sulfide and the bile acids recirculate along with oxidized endotoxins and sulfur containing amino acids from animal-based protein wreaking havoc on the vascular system, lymph nodes, and brain. Even someone's avascular system may become depleted of nutrients, the spine.
      Consider the whole process and how your body is going to react. And then you may begin to understand heart attacks (leading cause of death) clearly, widow makers, dietary oxidize cholesterol, and inflammatory oxidized heme iron, brain attacks from amyloid plaques (neurodegenerative diseases) cardiometabolic into diabetes type II, cancers...
      There is so much to learn about micronutrients and macronutrients and sources of these and how much you really need for optimum healthspan, to be a happy thriving centenarian. And what's amazing is it's really simple to just eat beans grains grains fruits veggies not seeds herbs and spices. And as a result I am healthier and not hurting animals and leaving smaller impact on the environment while doing the best I can to role model this to my son and leave him a better, healthier, nonviolent, compassionate, creative, thriving world.
